"New Roommate" | Jeongyeon x Male Reader

"Hey, don't forget me dude ok? I'll be waiting for your return.", You said in a sad tone. You are facing your friend Jacob who is now on the door with luggages beside him.

"No need to worry men, I'll call to you so that we can catch up and check each other out.", Jacob said with an assuring smile. He is feeling sad too at this moment but all he can do was to make this as a happy goodbye since he don't want you to feel the same way as him.

"I will miss you, Y/N. Thank you for the great times. I'm really lucky that I met a friend like you.", he lends his hand for a handshake but you just stared at it because you're thinking of something much better to return for all of those great memories you two had.

You exchanged look at his hand and his face until you stopped, smiled while shaking your head then you reached his body to give him a warm embrace.

"Same, Jay. Have a safe flight, will ya?", you softly said, his ears catched your breath which made him even gonna miss you more because he literally felt the care which he experienced to you all the time at his time with you being his roommate.

The two of you patted each other's back. Then, you helped him carry his luggage through the car waiting in front of your apartment. Before he enters the cab, the two of you shared another hug before bidding each other goodbye.

The cab starts to drive away as you just watched it slowly disappear in your eyes. Then you walked back onto your room and sighed heavily.

"And now, I'm alone again.", you slumped back onto the couch. Legs and arms wide open as you sit in a position where you look like you ran 30 miles in just 10 minutes.

What just happened earlier anyways?

Your friend Jacob needs to leave your room, ending his position as your roommate because he will move now to Los Angeles to continue his studies for college, as per his parents' requests. He can't decline it though because it's his dream to travel to another country, so he has no choice but to accept it.

With the fact of him leaving you and you learning about it, the two of you became sad about it. You two are roommates for 4 years. Jacob moved in to your room because he wanted to experience living away from his family so that he can feel how it feels to be free, where he can do whatever he wants. His parents are quite strict, that's why... but it's a suprise that they allowed Jacob to move away from their house.

And the two of you met as he got introduced to you by the owner of this apartment you're living in. You gave him a warm welcome and you just acted like yourself... being friendly, kind, cheerful etc. Anything you can describe more to a nice person.

The two of you had a great relationship as friends. You two hang out anywhere, help each other on studies, play games together etc. You two are so fun together in the eyes of the public that some thought that you two are siblings who loves and grateful to each other that both of you are brothers.

That's why it's heartbreaking for both of you that the time has come for him to seperate himself away from you. Jacob didn't even expected that there will be a reason for him too not to finish high school, which is what just happened to you both earlier.

You hate being alone again, so while you are seating in the couch you were muttering of something.

"I hope I can have a new roommate with me soon.", you muttered as you want to meet a new person again. You will not gonna forget Jacob though because he's part of the people close into your already.

It's been two weeks that you're alone in your room and you ain't gonna lie. It's so BORING. The atmosphere is lifeless. You did everything to take away you sadness but nothing worked. You tried to play new games, experiment new cooking recipes, invite classmates to your room and many more. You had fun though but at the end of those moments, it just fades away completely because all of it will end up the same way that you hated: being alone.

You even asked the owner of the apartment everytime if there's someone who came to him already to join into your room but all of his answers were no. He then noticed that everytime he answers it, your expression changes from being serious to sad so he checks on you.

"You seem lonely, Y/N. Is it because you don't have a roommate as of now?"

"Yeah, it's just... maybe I got to be used already on having someone on my side everyday in my room. It feels boring when i'm alone, I don't have someone with me where I can hang out with.", you said to the owner, giving him a glance while keeping your head down. "And you know already sir that I live my whole life not having a family or relative with me every day and night."

"Don't worry, Y/N. I promise you, I will find someone to join you; all you need to do is hang on, ok?", the owner clasped his hands and placed it on the desk and gave you a smile to cheer you up.

"Thanks, Mr. Park.", you gave a small smile at him. You believed him though because you trust him anyways. He gave you already some reasons to prove himself with that.

So you waited again. And now, it's already the 5th day of the last week of October. You checked your alarm clock as it ring, then you turned it off after it successfully woke you up. You did your morning routine.

You were eating cereal in your table when you suddenly saw a silhoutte from outside of the window through the curtains. And it made you even more curious because there were 2 figures right in front of your room already.

It made you startled when someone knocked at your door. You stood up and reached for the door as you unlocked it. The familiar figure of Mr. Park showed up right in front of you, smiling as it looks like he is enjoying what's gonna happen today.

"Good morning, Y/N.", Mr. Park greets you cheerfully. You replied back with a huge grin on your face.

"Remember what you said to me week ago, when you came to my office?", Mr. Park asked me, placing his hands on his pockets.

"Oh yeah, to have a new roommate.", you said.

"Well, good news. I already found one for you.", he smiled at me. Your eyes widely opened, you just couldn't believe it that you're finally having a new roommate after almost a month of waiting.

"Wait, let me introduce you to her.", your eyebrows instantly furrowed when he said 'her'. So you're gonna live with a girl this time? You thought.

It's not that it makes you uncomfortable, it's just you don't know how to interact and move in your room with a girl living with you everyday since you never experienced being with a girl the whole time everyday.

Mr. Park then gave someone a signal to come closer to him. A short hair sky- blue colored woman appeared beside him while wearing a backpack and luggages. Your eyes immediately stared at here because of one simple reason: SHE. LOOKS. SO. BEAUTIFUL.

You gulped at you scanned her face. Her eyes are so shiny, her nose is cute, her skin is so smooth and clear, her lips are plump which is being covered with strawberry lipbalm, her chubby cheeks which you want to pinch it and feel it's softness.

The sunlight strikes straight from her which even made her beauty glow up and got highlighted. You just stared at him while you feel like everything is on slow-mo, starting with her slowly turning her head from Mr. Park to you as she finally about to look at you.

Mr. Park noticed you staring at the blonde woman while she's following his signal so he then snapped his fingers right in front of your eye. That immediately brough you back to the real world as you looked into Mr. Park who's raising his eyebrow at you.

"Y/N, I know she's a gorgeous woman but please you don't have to make her melt at your stare.", Mr. Park smirked at you, he knows that he's right so he tried teasing you. You blushed hard with those words you heard.

"I-i'm not! I-I'm just really focused to see who's gonna be my new roommate so I stared beside you to see who it is.", you defended yourself. You tried hard but Mr. Park isn't convinced with that because he can notice your voice shivering an was about to stuter.

"Alright, well I'll just accept it then", he pouted and nods at you. "Anyways, Y/N... let me introduce you to this young lady here.", he points at the blond woman. She is wearing gray hoodie and black leggings with some FILA kicks. You two finally looked at each other and you're trying your best not to give up on your knees because you really feel weak just by staring at her lovely black orbs of her eyes.

"Y/N, meet Yoo Jeongyeon. She's 19 years old, same as you. She will be your new roommate.", Mr. Park said. You then repeated pronouncing her name on your mind, and thought that it's a beautiful name which fits exactly to a beautiful woman like her.

You then fake coughed at you then took the turn to introduce yourself. "H-hi. I'm Shin Y/N. Nice to meet you and I hope we get along well.", you gave a nervous yet welcoming smile at her as you lend her hand at her.

Jeongyeon then accepts it and places her hand at you. You felt the softness of her skin as you tried not to grip her hand tightly as you cared for it. She gave you a warm smile, showing her white pearly teeth.

Now Y/N, I will leave her to you. Jeongyeon, don't be shy to make Y/N as your friend... trust me he is a good boy.", Mr. Park proudly says as he finally walked away from the two of you. Then it's just you and Jeongyeon standing awkwardly at the front of your room.

"C-come in.", you stuttered as you finally let her in to your room.
Being a gentleman, you carried her luggage to the inside.

Something finally came up into your mind after meeting Jeongyeon.

Maybe, for her... it's not only friendship you've been looking forward into.

Maybe something more from that.

Love.

"Feel at home. This will be the place where you will live in anyways.", you said to her. She removed her shoes and placed it on the shoerack behind the door.
She is still shy meeting a new person like you and having a new place to live into so she can't move comfortably so far.

"Take a seat at the couch please. You want water?", you asked her because you thought that maybe she is tired from having on her way here while having these heavy things with her.

"Oh... yes please, thank you.", Jeongyeon said with a small smile. She followed you after as she took a seat at the couch.

You returned now with a glass of water and some bread filled with strawberry jam on a plate then you placed it on the table. Jeongyeon smiled at what she saw. "In case you want to eat, I made you a small breakfast.", you shyly said. "Sorry if I can't cook a meal so far, I don't have any stock of ingredients here so I need to go to the grocery later."

"No no, it's ok. Don't worry, I already eat from my parent's house. But i'll accept this bread instead since... I don't want to waste your effort.", Jeongyeon said. You took a seat as you reached for some bread and placed some strawberry jam in it too, joining her on having a breakfast.

"I noticed you were still young and I'm pretty sure you're still studying. What made you to live in an apartment by yourself?", you asked her after swallowing a chewed bite of your bread.

"Well, I'm gonna enter to a new campus since I'm now in college. Then I learned that the campus is just near from here, I decided to find a place where I'll be staying while I'm studying so that everytime I go to the campus, it will not be a struggle.", Jeongyeon explained after drinking a water.
"So I had a discussion with my parents and thank God they allowed me."

"That's nice to hear.", you agreed. "What campus are you gonna be in?"

"At (name of the campus you know in SK)."

"Wait, I will be also study there too!", you exclaimed in surprise because you didn't expect that she's also gonna study in the same campus as you. "Mind if we go to campus together everyday?"

"Sure, why not? We can do it as a way to get to know each other well too.", Jeongyeon shrugged, showing that it's a no problem to her with that request. "Hey, i'm expecting that Mr. Park told about you is true."

"Y-you mean... w-what he described about m-me?", you stuttered as you panicked. She is expecting so that means she's having a trust on you already. Not wanting to disappoint her, you promised to yourself that you will do your best not to break her trust.

After all, you want to impress her by showing how great person you are since having your attention and even your heart getting caught by her attractive beauty made you already fall in love with her so all you need to do was to make her feel the same as you.

"Yup. But as far as I can see through you right now, I guess he's right.", Jeongyeon said as she leaned herself closer a bit at you, locking her eyes in stare through you. You gulped because you can't even stand having a staring contest with her because there's something in her that makes your heart flutter more.

"I'm a nice person, Y/N. I heard that Mr. Park said through our talk last time that you were so desperate to find a new roommate because you can't stand being alone, so don't worry... I can be your friend.", Jeongyeon said to you. You said through your mind that you're hoping too that she can be something more to you, not just a friend. "I will do my best to make you happy all the time with me by your side in our home.", you blushed when the words "our home" strike straight to your heart.

"I will do my best too, Jeongyeon. I promise you will feel lucky that you met me.", you smiled at her and the two of you continued to finally finish your breakfast. After that, you led her to her room; which is Jacob's previous room. She starts to arrange her things on her her new bedroom while you left the apartment to buy groceries.

2 months after, the two of you are now close to each other. You two are also classmates at some classes so you help her with the lessons she can't understand. You are a smart person, by the way. You two also are together to spend your free time like going to mall, having a jogging, playing games. The two of you just enjoyed those moments and until now you two keep on adding memories with each other.

During the progress of getting to know each other, you two learned some facts about each other. She likes Lego where she has a mini collection of it at her bedroom, you hate cucumbers, she likes cleaning where the fact that some small little dirt already makes her mad because she hates dirty. You both like K-Pop, you two even stan the same group and many more.

Let's not also forget the fact that you are being so in love with her too that your feelings just grew bigger at bigger at her which makes you feel that your heart is so heavy already that can explode anytime. You tried your best to impress her, you act more nicely towards her and to others for her to notice too. Just everything you do that will make her feel that she's a queen where you'll be willing to serve and protect...

... and to love.

Little did you know that even her also is falling in love with you too, with how the way you treat her as if she's super important to you, which is actually true. She blushes everytime the others mention your name and only when you turn around, facing your back at her just to hide it. She also feels like her day is incomplete without you. She even introduced you already to her parents, and they liked you. They even want to supported you two if ever you end up as her boyfriend.

And that's the part where she felt sad. She doesn't even know if you feel the same for her. She wants to confess to you but she's afraid that you two might end up being awkward to each other and her receiving an unrequited love.

You also think the same.

One day, you were having a video call with your friend Jacob in your bedroom. You two are now having Jeongyeon as your topic.

"Just try to confess to her, men. I know you're afraid of what would be the consequences but it is what it is. All you need to do is to accept, atleast you tried... right?", Jacob says.

"Yeah I know, men but I just can't help but to feel so disappointed once we became awkward to each other because of my stupid confession that made it ruin our friendship. I really don't want to waste it.", you said to Jacob while stroking your hair in panic.

"I may not know her but I really think that she ain't gonna do that to you. You made her feel special, I'm pretty sure she'll feel the same and she ain't gonna do that way that will make the two of you throw that away of treating each other like that.", Jacob says. "Can I ask, do you notice her with some hints that maybe... she feels the same way as you?", that made you froze on your position and you feel into sudden deep thought. You brought back all those times where you're with her and tried to check if there's just a bit of a hint in it. Sadly, you didn't find any.

Meanwhile, at the outside of your bedroom; Jeongyeon is listening closely to your conversation with Jacob. She just came home while having a bad day because she got a low score in a subject where you two aren't classmates. But, all of those instantly wiped away when she finally learned that you also feel the same way for her.

She felt relieved when you answered to Jacob that you didn't find any hints. You're right, anyways. She is so good at acting in front of you because she really don't want you to find out that there's something she's keeping a secret from you.

"You know what bro, it's up to you if you want to do it or not... but listen to me, you really need to confess. Trust me, it's really hard to force yourself get rid of your feelings or hiding it to someone you really love when you're even wishing that you'll receive the same way. No matter what happens, I'll support you.", Jacob said as he gave a smile to you to keep you motivated on doing this plan. It's now or never for you, you need to do this before it's too late.

"If she might reject you, then heal your heart first then find someone new and just be happy for her if you really love her or if she might accept you, then all I gotta say is congrats and I hope your relationship will be strong."

"Ofcourse, I will make it happen if ever. I love her so much dude. I just... I don't know why but, I really think that I'll be having a hard time finding someone new when there's nobody like her. She's the one my heart chooses.
I don't even gonna need nobody's love because I need hers.", you said. You didn't even realized that your tears and starting to fall. Jeongyeon heard that from outside, she placed her hand in her chest; feeling her heartbeat racing while she's muttering your name name repeatedly as she's trying to control her tears too after she heard you sniffing.

"You're suffering already from tne unknown. Like what I just say, the only way to find out is to confess. You can do this, bro.", Jacob cheered you up. "Dude, I gotta go now. Mom invited us for dinner outside. Again, confess and pour all of your heart with it to make her convince that your feelings for her are true. Good luck, bud.", you bid goodbye too at him and then you turned off your phone and placed it on the side of your bed. You fixed your sitting position and reached for the tissues to wipe your tears away but it prevented you from doing that when Jeongyeon opens your door and enters your bedroom.

You got startled as you felt panic, worry and scared at the same time because you saw her serious expression wearing on her face as she stares at you deeply. You were wondering already if she heard your conversation with Jacob or something wrong happened to her. You tried to ask her then.

"J-jeong-", she interrupted you with one straightforward question.

" After all this time, you love me Y/N?", Jeongyeon asked you softly. Her eyes are glimmering in the dark, you don't know the reason that she's actually wanting you to say it to her face loud and clear that you love her.

Seems like she finally knows your secret so all you need to was to confess.

"Always.", there you have it. You finally confessed to her. Now all you feel is fear and worry that she might reject you. Jeongyeon widened her eyes, she can't believe that you really didn't try to lie to her... but ofcourse she's happy that you didn't.

"Right from the start, Jeongyeon. Since you appeared at my door, you caught my attention already. There's something in you that time where you immediately invaded my heart and mind that I just can't stop thinking about you. I didn't tried to lie to myself that I'm falling in love with you, because I notice it anyways. So I did my best to impress myself to you. I tried to level up my personality, I treated you so nicely and made you feel that you're important to me... because you are.", you just let your tears fall then while pouring all your heart at Jeongyeon. "I'm sorry if I'm a coward that I'm hesitating to confess to you. I just don't want to ruin this closeness between us. I'm scared of being rejected, but I planned to do it instead because I have no other choice but to accept it right?"

"I can't force you to love me back anyways. All I can do was to respect your decision. Now that I finally confessed to you, I hope you won't distance yourself away from me. We can still be friends and just forget this night that this happened. I'll be happy for you, while I do my best to remove my feelings to heal myself from accepting the painful truth.", you said while sobbing in front of her. Jeongyeon also started to cry because she can't stand it seeing you like this. She felt every word you said. She remembered those times where she's being suspicious at you which she unexpectedly made her slowly fell for you. Hearing those words that you're afraid that she will reject you, she is shooking her head deep inside... because she will immediately accept you back because yeah, she loves you too and she will be so grateful to have a boyfriend like you.

So she wants to end this already of you thinking negatively. She finally speaks up. "Y/N."

"You don't need to apologize

... because I also did the same way. ", your head slowly raised up and looked at her in disbelief. She was smiling while tears are flowing down to her cheeks. Are you hearing those words right? She did the same way? So that means...

"I love you too, Y/N. I'm also afraid that my feelings for you will end up not being reciprocated, so I hid it instead because I don't want it to affect our friendship.", she slowly walks towards you. She cupped your face with her both hands and stared deeply at you, wanting you to focus at her next words.

"Look at me, we don't need to worry about each other anymore because now we know that you're mine... and i'm yours, Y/N.", you two smiled at each other. Tears flow more but it's not about hopes and pain anymore, but full joy and love.

And then she pulled your head into hers for a deep kiss. Both of your lips were at each other for like 10 seconds. Nothing can stop the two of you from this moment so there's no need to waste this opportunity of finally feeling the great love that you two finally shared for each other.

She hugged you tightly after, rubbing her back gently as you smell her aromatic scent of her perfume that makes you so dizzy, wanting to suck it all out on your nose. Both of you felt the warmth of each other's bodies and heart beating right exactly in a same rhythm.

"Thank you, Jeongyeon. I promise I will do my best to prove you that you deserve me. I will not let our relationship end because I want to be with you forever."

"I know you will, Y/N. And ofcourse, I will join you as we pass some obstables and challenges that we might encounter. I will be with your side through our journey.", she responded at you. "You know, I'm having a bad day but thanks to you... you just made me nevermind it.", your eyebrows furrowed when she mentioned that she's having a bad day. So your guess earlier was right too?

"Jeong, Did something wrong happened?", you curiously asked her. You're worried so as her boyfriend you gotta do something to cheer her up.

"It's just about my score earlier in our subject. It's not good and I feel jealous to my other classmates who got high ones.", she shared. Now you know her problem, you gave her a solution for that.

"Hey, let's eat dinner first then I will help you to understand that lesson where you had a bad score.", you pushed her away from you gently, ending your hug and made her face you.

"Okay.", she smiled. Her cheeks puffed and with that it made her look so adorable that you can't help but to pinch those chubby cheeks of hers before getting up from your bed.

"God, you're so cute.", you said while gritting your teeth because of her cuteness.

"Aaahhh it hurts.", she playfully said as you made her cheeks reddish. She liked it anyways.

"Y/N."

"Hmm?"

"I love you."

"I love you too, Jeongyeon.", you two shared another quick peck on the lips before you two finally left your bedroom and go to kitchen to prpeare for you dinner.
