In many occasions that can be wrong, Myoui Mina has to meet her ex-boyfriend that she tried to get rid of from her mind. Mina has accepted the fact that both her body and heart still burn for y/n than she thinks she would.

“Love is the answer, but while you are waiting for the answer, sex raises some pretty good questions.”

    —Woody Allen—

    ---

Mina cursed in her heart. She cursed whoever it was—her boyfriend or the woman in front of her whom she didn’t know—for bringing the craziest guy right in front of her. Actually, the guy wasn’t specifically brought to meet her. It was just a coincidence that Y/n who was Mina’s ‘ex-boyfriend’, turned out to be the boyfriend of Karina—her boyfriend’s friend—who invited them for a double date. To hell with the double date and the plan to make new friends that had once made Mina excited. Right now, she just wanted to go home or disappear into ashes.

After half a year of not meeting, Y/n was still the same as Mina remembered—still romantic and knew how to make his girlfriend laugh. Y/n was still handsome and cool. The saying that guys look bad after becoming an ex didn’t apply to Y/n. The proof was that he still looked stunning with all the uniqueness embedded in his appearance and personality. At this moment—even at any time—Mina was not in the mood to meet, let alone talk to Y/n.

“Darling, let me introduce you to Karina, the one I told you about yesterday,” Kai said in a friendly voice. “Just like us, Karina and her boyfriend go to the same campus.”

“Oh, Yonsei, right?” Mina blurted out reflexively. She widened her eyes a bit—slightly annoyed because Y/n carved a thin smile. Damn. Even though she knew a lot about Y/n, Mina shouldn’t have said anything. Now she had to face the questioning looks from Kai and Karina. “You told me before, right? You said Karina goes to the top campus . Yonsei is the top along with SNU. So I concluded it like that.”

Mina's explanation sounded quite smooth. The smile she gave also looked sincere. Except to one person Y/n knew that every time Mina made excuses, she always wrinkled her nose. He just smiled, finding it funny to see his ex, who was getting prettier, flustered while explaining. Y/n liked every reaction Mina gave. It always felt new and refreshing.

“Eh, we haven’t officially met yet, right?” Karina said, her voice sounding soft—the type of voice Y/n liked.

“Ah, yes,” Mina replied while flashing a friendly smile. She tried to look as natural as possible—not nervous, let alone showing dislike toward the guy across from her who extended his hand with a wide smile. “Myoui Mina.”

“Y/n," Y/n greeted, deliberately holding Mina’s hand a bit longer. His gaze was deep but not sharp. Even though he often acted recklessly, Y/n was always aware and accepted all the consequences of his actions. And Mina knew that better than anyone.

“By the way,” Kai’s voice cut off the slightly-too-long handshake between Mina and Y/n. Neither Kai nor Karina was suspicious, considering it normal. Instead of suspecting the two of them, Kai chose to invite them to sit and spoke again in a calming voice, “I just found out from Karina that Y/n is Mr. Lee’s son. He’s a really cool business figure. If there’s a chance, I really hope I can meet him.”

“Ah, it’s just normal. At home, he always wears ugly, tacky clothes. Maybe he intends to promote a minimalist lifestyle, but if it ends up looking bad, what’s the point?” Y/n responded to Kai’s admiration quite casually and even friendly. His smile reappeared when his conversation partner and his girlfriend laughed—finding his comment about his father funny. Y/n’s gaze shifted to the woman in front of him. Mina gave no reaction at all. It was very clear that she wasn’t interested in conversations about upper-class people. So, with full understanding, Y/n chose to steer the conversation in another direction—even if it was a bit random. “By the way, the Attack of Titan final season just finished last week, right?”

“Ah, yes! The ending was unsatisfying!” Mina replied enthusiastically. She glanced at Kai her boyfriend didn’t know she liked anime—then gave an awkward smile. “I know from tweets on Twitter.”

Mina’s voice dropped—just like her confidence shrinking. The look she directed at Y/n looked annoyed. She didn’t want Kai to know about her otaku soul that she always tried hard to suppress. Having gotten a scholarship all the way to SNU but still being crazy about anime apparently made Mina less confident. Even though liking anime wouldn’t lower her integrity as a beautiful genius from SNU. Even Y/n always liked Mina’s otaku side. It felt nice to see the girl acting like herself.

“I love it,” Y/n said--- Mina already knew that. “I mean I don’t hate those people who like anime, or Kpop, or anything. It’s normal to simp over something. I’m gaming a lot. People say it’s not good to spend our time on games, but little did they know, there are tons of people making money from games. I just do it for fun though, maybe not a good excuse, but who cares? As long as you love it, then it’s fine. We don’t have any right to judge others especially when our life is still a mess as fuck.”

“Y/n, watch your mouth,” Karina whispered while holding the back of Y/n's hand, which was resting on the table. They looked quite compatible and romantic.

“Sorry babe, it’s like a habit,” Y/n replied, kissing the back of his girlfriend’s hand that was intertwined with his fingers. Secretly, he observed Mina’s expression—she looked completely normal. This wasn’t what he had hoped for. Y/n wanted to see a jealous look on that flawless beautiful face he used to kiss all night long.

    *Such a nostalgic.*

    Y/n missed those times.

Mina touched the back of Kai’s hand before whispering, “I’m going to the restroom for a bit. Need to fix something under my dress.”

“Need help?” Kai whispered right next to Mina's ear.

The woman smiled. She kissed her boyfriend’s cheek, aware that her action had successfully made the man across from them jealous. “It’s okay. I can do it by myself.”

After saying that, Mina immediately hurried away—carrying all the uncomfortable feelings that were suffocating her mind. Her steps were a little rushed. Even the heels she was wearing didn’t slow her down at all. Mina only stopped when a very familiar voice echoed—touching not just her ears but her heart. She quickly turned around and found Y/n standing a few steps behind her. The hallway leading to the restroom was quiet. Mina started thinking that rich people might not like going to the restroom like she did.

“Need to catch more air to breathe, Sharon?”

    **Sharon.**

No one else called her by that name except Y/n. Mina’s breath caught in her throat—especially when Y/n approached and touched her exposed back. She regretted wearing this black dress. Her intention was to captivate her boyfriend, but the one who got captivated was her ex instead.

Even though Y/n lacked nothing compared to Kai, whom Mina always saw as the perfect man, the attraction she felt was clearly not what she wanted right now. Besides, Y/n had become the past that Mina wanted to bury. She might even want to forget him. After all, Y/n had found new love in his life. It was only fair if Mina wanted to do the same.

“Your hair got caught in the dress strap.” Y/n intended to pull it out, but stopped when Mina quickly brushed his hand away. “It’s not like your boyfriend or Karina would come here, so calm down, Mina.”

“I know who you are, Y/n. I know what you mean by ‘help.’”

Mina only intended to leave, but Y/n’s grip on her hand stopped her. Her heart trembled violently as she caught the deep pain etched in the pair of dark eyes staring at her. Those eyes always looked at Mina. Even when the beautiful and elegant Karina was right next to him, Y/n always looked at her, always searching for Mina’s figure. It made Mina lose all strength to push Y/n away. Tears welled up behind her eyes—they felt hot. Even her tongue felt numb when she heard the question Y/n asked in a trembling voice.

“Mina, why did you ask for a breakup? Why did you break up with me? Did I ever hurt you? Did I do something you can’t forgive? Tell me, tell me the reason why you left me that day? Please Mina... explain everything to me.” Y/n’s voice was filled with emotion-draining pleas. “I love you. I still do. I never stopped loving you. Not even a second in my life have I spent without loving you. Please Mina, I beg you, please come back to me.”

“Come back to you as what? Your mistress? You already have a beautiful and perfect girlfriend. I bet your mom likes her so much. And I have a boyfriend too. We’re walking on our separate paths, Y/n. Don’t be silly. Our story ended a long time ago.” Mina tried desperately to hold back the tears that kept forcing their way out. Her voice trembled, but she tried to ignore it and finish her sentence.

“Do you love him? Your boyfriend, I mean.” Y/n asked a question that Mina immediately answered with a nod.

“Yeah. Don’t you love Karina?” Mina asked, feeling a bit ridiculous because she could clearly see that Y/n wasn’t interested in Karina at all.

“No. Karina is the woman my family chose, not me.” Y/n gave a firm answer. His sharp eyes showed no sign of lying.

“Then that’s your problem. I love Kai,” Mina said with confidence that Y/n could quickly shatter.

“Mina, let me ask you one more time—do you seriously love him?”

Y/n question went unanswered. Mina was in no position to answer. Especially when the man’s fingers moved along her back and stopped at the spot that made Mina desperately want Y/n—right now. Mina let Y/n capture her lips, even responding the way she always did when she was his girlfriend.

Mina wanted to hate Y/n. But her desire didn’t match the reaction from her body and heart. Even her legs moved along as Y/n pulled her into the storm they had once again created. Mina’s head was spinning. Part of her instinct cursed what she was doing right now—making out with her ex-boyfriend in the women’s restroom was definitely never on the list of things Mina wanted to do in her life. But she didn’t protest at all when Y/n sat her down near the sink and started kissing her face and neck. Instead of protesting, Mina wrapped her legs around Y/n body—pulling him closer and going wild.

“I know you can’t do this with just anyone. You wouldn’t give this kind of reaction if you didn’t have any feelings for me, Mina.” Y/n whispered between his kisses.

“I hate you,” Mina hissed, her hands still wrapped around the back of Y/n’s neck.

“Should I stop then?” Once again, Y/n’s question received no answer. He knew Mina didn’t want it to end.

Y/n just wanted to be naughty. A faint smile appeared on his face as he felt Mina’s hands move on his nape. He pressed his body closer, embracing Mina, who closed her eyes as his hand moved downward again.

“Anybody there?” A voice from outside slightly startled Mina. “It’s locked.”

“Y/n, there’s someone outside,” Mina whispered, sounding a bit panicked.

“This toilet is under repair! Please use another one, Ma’am!” Y/n shouted. His hand pulled down Mina’s underwear, inserted two fingers, and made the woman in his arms let out a sharp moan that she tried hard to hold back. “I hit the spot, right?”

“Screw you!” Mina snapped loudly. Every nerve in her body tensed. She forgot the last time she felt this free—Y/n was right, she could only do all this madness with him. Pretending all this time with Kai had clearly been torturing her. “Please Y/n, do it like the last time we did it. Don’t go too slow. Do it hard.”

“Don’t worry. I plan to do that too.” Y/n kissed the peak of Mina’s body, then captured her lips and did everything he had just said.

    “Go deep down, Y/n, please...”

“I don’t even have any protection on,” Y/n groaned softly.

As if she didn’t hear what Y/n said, Mina hugged him tighter instead, kissing his neck while her hand pulled down the zipper of his pants. “Just put it there. You’ve been hard as fuck.”

“Guess who made it this hard?” Y/n grabbed Mina’s hand, intertwining their fingers, then pushed himself inside—making Mina moan his name softly. “Now move. You’re free to drive me in.”

Mina’s hazy gaze locked onto Y/n’s eyes, which always watched every single expression she made. For the first time in six months, Mina felt the touch she had always missed. This time, her gaze shifted forward—seeing her own reflection in the mirror. She looked wild with her body almost completely bare. Her arms wrapped around Y/n—she chose to drown in this sinful, hot entanglement that she always craved. Y/n filled her completely—freeing Mina from the chains that had always bound and tortured her.

    ---

Three months had passed since their reunion with Y/n, and Mina’s life had become like a roller coaster. She never felt at ease every time Kai and Y/n met at the same time and place. The double dates that Karina kept pushing for continued. Both Mina and Y/n still acted like strangers and only paid attention to their respective partners.

Even so, compared to Mina, Y/n’s actions tended to be more open and sometimes without thinking. Even now, Y/n calmly stretched out his leg under the table, tracing Mina’s thigh beneath her dress. Mina bit her lower lip, holding back a moan while trying to push Y/n’s leg away from her sensitive area.

“Babe, look, this bag is nice, right?” Karina asked while showing her phone to Y/n. The girl was more indifferent than Mina had thought. Even after knowing her for three months, Mina could conclude that Karina was only enjoying the status of being the ‘Honorable Future Daughter-in-Law of the Lee Family.’ She didn’t really care about Y/n.

“It’s nice. Just buy it, I’ll pay later,” Y/n said quickly. He immediately turned his attention back to Mina. From his gaze, Mina could clearly see how bored Y/n was with this situation.

Karina really liked activities like romantic dinners or going to crowded places. Y/n didn’t like those kinds of places. He preferred spending time together at home—whether cooking, watching movies, lying around, or ‘exercising.’ And more specifically, Y/n only wanted to do all those things with Rose.

*Karina gives me ‘it’s not right’ feeling that made me could not go further than a kiss. It’s hard to do this with any girl who is not you.*

That was the only explanation Y/n gave to Mina. The more she observed, the more obvious it was that the guy really didn’t click with Karina.

“I’ll get a drink first,” Mina said, lifting her empty glass. She had been drinking a lot.

“Ah, I want to get a cola too,” Y/n quickly stood up from his seat. He patted Karina while asking, “You want anything? Or infused water? There’s still lemon and cucumber in the fridge. There’s strawberry too. Just choose whatever you want.”.

“Want smoothie...,” Karina said in a spoiled tone. It made Mina feel nauseous.

“What about you, Kai?” This time Y/n asked Kai. But the guy who always looked neat from head to toe just shook his head and politely declined. “Okay. Take your time. It won’t be long. Let’s go, Mina.”

The casual “Let’s go” from Y/n carried a different impression that put Mina slightly on guard. She wanted to cancel her plan to get a drink, but that would make Kai and Karina suspicious. The distance Mina tried to maintain with Y/n every time the four of them gathered was already too obvious. Luckily, Karina was indifferent and Kai wasn’t a perceptive guy. If their partners had even a bit of those qualities, maybe the affair between Mina and Y/n wouldn’t be running this smoothly.

“Aren’t you just too obvious, Sharon?” Y/n asked as soon as the two of them reached the kitchen of his house. Karina and Kai were outside, saying they wanted to enjoy lunch in the warm backyard.

“We agreed to continue this ‘relationship,’ but not like earlier. You were pretty much trying to show them about ‘our relationship.’ Kai was right next to me and Karina was there too—holding your hand. I know you’re crazy, but please, don’t show that madness in front of them. It’s already hard for me, Y/n.” There was a plea behind Mina’s soft and careful voice. Several times she glanced backward, making sure none of their partners had come inside.

“I want to break up with Karina,” Y/n said casually.

But Mina couldn’t react the same way. She quickly grabbed Y/n’s arm, looking panicked as she said, “Think about yourself, Y/n. Your parents will scold you if you do that. Karina a is the girl that your mom likes—she’s the girl your parents chose for you.”

“Theirs but not mine, Mina.” Y/n expressed his thoughts. He pulled Mina’s hand, kissed it, then hugged her and said, “I don’t need Karina a, I need and want you. Am I wrong for loving you? Why does it become a mistake for me but not for Kai? What’s the difference between me and him besides the fact that I’m more perfect than your useless boyfriend?”

“That’s rude, Y/n!” Mina snapped. “I know you’re perfect. You’re handsome, smart, rich, and you know exactly how to ‘dominate’ your partner in bed. But that doesn’t mean Kai is worse. He’s just… too nice. But he’s decent.”

Y/n pushed Mina, pinning her right in front of the large refrigerator that could hold two weeks’ worth of groceries. He started whispering in a low voice, “Two inches difference is a big thing, Mina. You cannot scream when you’re with him; but you could when you were with me.”

“Stop it, Y/n!! You know we can’t do this! There will be two people who get hurt because of our crazy lust!” Mina brushed away Y/n’s hand that had begun slipping under her shirt. Her gaze was sharp. She tried to hold back Y/n, who was pressing his body too tightly against hers.

“I want you now, Sharon,” Y/n whispered, starting to embrace Mina and leaving several kisses on her neck.

“Y/n, please, not now!” Mina cried out softly. She covered her mouth when she felt Y/n’s touch on her chest, trying to suppress the sudden surge of desire. This man always put Mina in difficult situations. “We can’t do this here, Y/n.”

“Why? This is my house,” Y/n said.

Mina bit her lip. She wanted to push Y/n away—not because she didn’t enjoy every touch he left on her, but because she couldn’t bear the guilt toward Kai, whom she had been dating for five months. It wasn’t as long as the time she had spent with Y/n, but Mina wanted to fix the commitment she had already ruined. No matter how you looked at it, her relationship with her ex couldn’t be justified.

“Y/n! Stop it there!” Mina cried out while holding back Y/n hand that had started creeping toward the lower part of her body.

“Why? You do like it.” Y/n really liked doing whatever he wanted.

    “Fuck you!”

“You did,” Y/n replied, intending to continue what he had started—until he felt a hard slap across his cheek.

Mina’s face turned red, tears pooling in her eyes, her body trembling, and her voice almost broke as it came out. “Let’s stop it here! You know we can never be together!”

“Why do you always push me away, Mina?! Back then and even now! You always push me away! Seems like it’s only me who falls for you!” Y/n roared in frustration. He ruffled his hair—choosing to do that rather than punch something nearby, because that might scare Mina.

“I would never give my everything to you if I don’t love you, idiot!” Mina shouted while clenching her fists. Her tears broke free. She wiped her face. Mina continued speaking in a trembling voice, “I came to you as a total virgin who didn’t know anything! I fell in love with you! I gave you my body, my trust, my whole love! I love you with my entire heart and mind! I made you my first—literally in everything! I made you my first love, my first kiss, my first sex! I love you—so much that I can give my entire life only for you! That’s why when your mom came to me, called me a whore for making her only son fall head over heels for me, and asked me to leave and never come into your life ever again, I did it all! I did give my life, Y/n. I gave you up. Now you know why I can’t be with you. We are just... we are just too different."

“I’m sorry... I... I didn’t have any clue. I didn’t know that my mom... that she would do that kind of shit to you. I’m sorry Mina, I’m sorry...”

Mina covered her face and began sobbing. She didn’t react at all—letting Y/n pull her into a tight embrace. Her crying stopped when the sound of shattering glass hit her ears. Mina looked toward the door and saw Kai standing there with a stiff expression. The guy stared at Y/n and Mina in disbelief. Without saying a single word, Kai turned around and left the two of them in the kitchen.

“Kai... it’s not like... I know it’s wrong but... ugh... what did I do?” Mina hit her own head—then stopped when Y/n pulled her hand and hugged her again. “I messed everything up.”

“We did,” Y/n corrected, “but we know the truth now. Just let him go.”

Mina sobbed in Y/n’s arms. Some things could be fixed; some couldn’t. And the heart was one of those things that couldn’t be repaired. Mina hadn’t only hurt Kai, but she had gone further—she had destroyed his trust.

“It’s okay Mina. I got your back. You are not alone. And you will never be alone.” Y/n meant every word. If he couldn’t be by Mina’s side when she was struggling before, this time he would sacrifice everything he could to bring back the smile that had been taken from her face. Y/n tightened his embrace—holding Mina’s fragile body as it nearly collapsed to the floor.

The story with Kai ended faster than Mina had expected. The man blocked all her contacts. He only agreed to meet after a full month of ignoring Mina’s attempts. During that time, Mina chose to spend time with herself. No Kai and even Y/n, who kept trying to reach her, was no exception. She deliberately distanced herself from Y/n to confirm the answer to a question she had already found.

Days passed. Autumn had entered its second week. The only thing that didn’t change was Mina’s feelings for Y/n: she knew that her heart and body had always loved him. Mina felt guilty for using Kai as a distraction for her feelings, which only ended in undeniable pain.

She wouldn’t even ask for forgiveness from Kai. If in the end he decided to hate her, she would accept that decision without any objection. It was a very reasonable choice. Especially considering that more than half the time they were together as a couple, Kai had spent it making love with another man. She wouldn’t make excuses. The truth was, she only loved Y/n.

From the beginning, Mina and Kai were never compatible. Mina didn’t understand Kai; just as Kai didn’t understand Mina, so their relationship had always been woven with pretense. If she had to be honest, when Kai stood up and left her at the café after saying ‘goodbye’, it felt like a liberation that made her heart feel relieved.

Mina stood up, steadied her breathing, and walked toward the place that somehow always brought peace to her heart. Her posture was straight, her expression looked stronger, and when her eyes caught Y/n’s figure sitting by the lake with his legs dangling, a thin smile formed on her lips.

“Waiting for someone, Sir?” Mina said as she sat down beside Y/n. She hugged her knees and rested her chin on them.

“Yes. Waiting for my soulmate. She finally came,” Y/n replied without any awkwardness. He gave his denim jacket to Mina, making sure she wouldn’t feel cold. While quietly observing Mina’s face, Y/n asked, “So, how did it go with Kai? When Karina found out about us, she slapped me four times. It’s understandable. She should’ve slapped me seven times.”

“Kai looked so disappointed that he couldn’t say much. He cried a little. And Karina… did she tell your mom?” Mina was more worried about that, which made Y/n laugh, amused by her concern.

“Of course. She even said, ‘Y/n was fucking another girl.’ She was quite panicked too.” Y/n told the story casually, making Mina laugh softly. He glanced at her—he was glad she looked healthy enough.

    “Then what?” Mina asked.

    “About what?”

“Your mom’s reaction,” Mina clarified while adjusting the jacket covering her back.

Y/n shrugged. He used his hands to support his body as he leaned back. “Well, it went like that. First she slapped me—Mom came here two weeks ago—then she blocked my ATM card. Whatever. I have my own private account from Grandpa. Hehe… looks like Grandpa knows how crazy his grandson really is.”

Mina just laughed. Her gaze was fixed forward. This was the lake they always visited. Y/n really liked the place that Mina had introduced to him when they first started dating. There weren’t many people here. It was quiet and peaceful.

“So, everything with Kai is settled?” Y/n asked in the end. He glanced at Mina, observing her expression.

“It’s done.” Mina looked relieved. “He is seriously too kind for a bad girl like me.”

“Bad girls should only date bad boys,” Y/n said without any intention of mocking her.

    “Exactly.”

“Wanna be a bad boy’s girlfriend then?” Y/n’s way of asking her to officially date him again was incredibly smooth. He stared into Mina’s eyes, which were doing the same to him. His hand moved, gently placing it on top of Mina’s cold hand. “I’m trash. But even trash can be useful. It can still have value. I’ll stop being a spoiled kid. I’ll find a part-time job. I’ll become an independent man you can rely on. So Sharon, wanna try to fall in love and be with me again?”

“I wish we can create a ton of beautiful memories together, Y/n. I love you.”

That confession made Y/n’s face turn red. It turned out that a guy like him could still blush. He covered his face for a moment before looking back at Mina, then kissing the back of her hand. “I love you, Mina. More than yesterday. Thank you for trusting me.”

Mina smiled. One of her hands cupped Y/n’s cheek as she gave him a kiss on the lips. “For you, a thousand times over.”
