"Out Of Time" | Nayeon x Male Reader

NAYEON'S POV

"Don't you forget what our professor gave to us for tomorrow okay?", my new classmate Yeri said to me, pointing her finger at me while I'm fixing my bag after our class in Physics just ended.
"Just so you know, Ms. Lee is famous in the campus for not giving any mercy to students who doesn't follow or respect her.", she gave me some warning, well I took it with all attention. I felt chills once again when I heard it from her, while also remembering my first encounter with our new Physics teacher.

"I will. She seems not the type of person to mess with, from her aura already earlier.", I said, gulped when I recalled her introduction to our class earlier which showed how intimidating and scary she sounded and looked.

"See? Even you can't deny.", Yeri chuckled, finding it hilarious that I agree the same as her. " You're a new student here so I can't have you become one of her victims already.", she faced me and said it to me with a caring voice.

I smiled gratefully to her, feeling lucky that I met my first friend here in my first time being here in this university after I transferred. "Thanks, Yeri. You've been really good to be so far."

"Oh, Nayeon unnie, it's no problem.", she shaked her hands off at me. "I once experience how it feels like to be alone with no one dares to approach you and become friends so.. I won't let the same thing happen to you.", she said then showed me a thumbs up, indicating that I will be just alright when I'm with her. I just let my lips formed a curve again on both sides, appreciating at how a nice person Yeri is.

It made me puzzled why no one dares to get to know about her when in fact they're completely missing a person that can turn out to be one of the besy friends they'll ever have in their life.

"Anyways... it's lunchtime. Come, there's so many delicious foods in cafeteria.", then she held my arm and pulled me along with her. Now we're outside the classroom and walking ahead in the hallway, setting our destination onto the cafeteria.

While we are wandering with many students, teachers and school staffs we passed along the way, we saw the school field in the near distance where there are some male students along with the elders standing in a straight line. They only wear such simple plain tshirts, sando, jogging pants or shorts.

But my eyes got caught more at this one specific man who is standing straight and listening attentively to who it seems like their trainer or coach. I noticed he had a new haircut but it never changed how handsome he is, his body figure got even a bit more muscular, his clear white skin being reflected by the sunlight above them.

Just by the sight of him made my heart beats rapidly. He is the only person capable of doing this to me.

Ofcourse, who in the Earth would not experience this when they have someone they love straight right in their sight.

Then I remembered my agenda of coming here in this university. It made me feel like I want to wait for them to end and rush towards him and do what I've been wanting to do.

"Jeez, the seniors are really preparing so bad for the upcoming football tournament.", Yeri said after we stopped for a while in front of the school field where the students which she revealed that they are football players, are having their preparation today. "Oh well, it's their last year here so it makes sense. Sad to think too.", Yeri frowned. I was listening to her but my whole focus is still intact to Y/N who's about to bent down and put his hands and points of his shoes on the ground... ready to perform push ups.

The amount of time I was just looking at YN didn't made me aware that Yeri has been looking at me curiously and strangely, like as if something was wrong with me.

She snapped her fingers on my face while calling me." Nayeon? Nayeon hey, still with me?"

"Oh uh yes, yes. Yeah, I can see it too.", I responded to her, good thing I know what she was saying to me few minutes ago. "Goodluck to them, I guess.", I shurgged. Yeri just gave a nod.

"Uhh can I ask?", I looked at Yeri who returned her gaze at the players. " About how long are they gonna do this today?"

"Not sure but commonly they took for like 3-4 hours of practice, same time as when the class ends.", Yeri answered me. Then she looked at me and furrowed her eyebrows, it seems like she noticed how weird it is for me to ask that like I have something to do from them. "Why did you ask?"

"Nothing. Just curious.", I lied, shaking my head back and forth.

" Fine then, cmon let's go!", she grabbed my arm again and pulled me with her. "We're gonna run out of kimbap! The Kimbap destroyer should not get late!", she shouted hurriedly. I gave a one last peek at YN who is now doing jumping jacks.

Now that I saw him, the only thing I need to figure out is how am I gonna be able to approach him.

But... I got worried too. What if he hates me? What if he doesn't want to see or hear from me? Did I made him angry for what I did to him few years ago?

Whether it is or not, there's only one way to find out.

"Y/N... I found you...", I muttered before me and Yeri about to reach the cafeteria she was talking about to me.

(4 HOURS LATER)

Our class just ended for today and all of us here in the classroom are preparing our things to go home and rest. Well except me who is about to do something first before I leave the school.

"Hey, Nayeon unnie! Would you want to...", she called me and about to ask something but I interrupted her cause I really to ask this immediately to her. I just hope she won't find it disrespectful.

"Wait, Yeri could we look for something?", I requested to her. Yeri just looked at me.

"Uhh sure, go ahead.", Yeri nodded while pursing her lower lip.

We exited the classroom and went in front of the school field. Sadly, I am too late already to try when I saw the football players are about to leave, including YN who's among with his teammates who seems like his closest friends too.

"That's weird, they ended early this time.", Yeri got surprised to, the same as me. We just really followed the estimated time she said to me earlier in the recess. She looked at me curiously after. "Why are we here by the way?"

I just stayed silent and followed YN about to exit the school field as they head onto the parking lot and enter some car with his teammates, disappearing in my eyes. What I did is not actually a great idea because it made Yeri think differently of me.

"Don't tell me... you are interested with one of them?", Yeri asked me while smirking. She even playfully bumped my shoulder. Now I felt like I became more suspicious because I slightly laughed at what she's doing to me.

"H-huh, n-no... I'm not.", I chuckled and quickly shaked my head. I denied, even though it's legit. I feel shy that's why. I don't want her to find out in an instant why am I really here in this university for. "It's just... I think I saw someone f-familiar to me.", I fakely reasoned out to her.

"That's normal.", Yeri patted my back, emphasizing how she understood me. "The Buccaneers are famous everywhere in Korea so yeah, definitely you who's from other school before... you must've saw one of them that caught your eye.", I nodded as I agreed to her. She was making a point anyways.

"But they, don't be shy to tell me who might that be okay?", I gulped before I answered yes to her. Well, I would really need to. She's my friend now too and she kinda deserves this to learn about this. I just know that she could help me with this.

"O-ok.."

"Now cmon, let's go home now.", she gripped the lace of her backpack and gestured me to follow her. Now that the school field is now empty and YN is nowhere to be found, I joined her on her way out of the campus.

"If you want, let's show our houses together.", she said to me while we're walking in the hallway.

(THE NEXT DAY)

Me and Yeri just finished picking oit our books we are interested to read today here in the library. We just prefer to do this while we wait for our teacher to come in the class because he said that there was some sort of a teacher' assembly going on right now which resulted in him going late in his class time.

As we head away from the shelf where we picked out some books, Yeri looked at mine and she seems amazed at it.

"Oh, can I have your book after? That looks interesting to read.", she pointed at the book I'm holding which the genre is fantasy. "I'll give you mine too if you want."

"Sure.", I just let her after. Now we reached a vacant position here in the library near at the back.

"Let's have a seat now.", Yeri commanded and now the two of us placed our bags at each respective chair then next is our books on top of the table.

Few minutes later, after we started reading. I took out my eyes on the page and looked around thr library for a while. Just right at the exact moment, my whole body halted and only my eyes are moving, sticked out at thr sudden appearance of YN who just entered the library. He was all alone.

He went onto the librarian to greet her and the lady just smiled, greeting him back. Then he went to a shelf to find some books.

As he returned at the reading area, he looked around for a vacant spot. I covered my face with the book I'm reading quickly so that he can't see my face. This is not the time yet for us to meet.

Yeri noticed that I'm acting weird as I keep on rotating my head then repeatedly moving away and covering back the book on my face, taking a peek if YN finally had a seat. Fortunately he is.

"Nayeon unnie? Hey, what's wrong? Noticed you weren't reading?", Yeri poked me in the shoulder, enough to steal my attention. "Who you staring at?", she then went on to follow my sight on who am I targeting at. She located it and found YN who just started reading his book.

"Oh... that's one of the seniors here, a football player too.", Yeri said as she recognized YN. She then turned around and looked me with her gasping mouth. " Nayeon unnie was that him? The Nightmare quarterback YN LN?"

Welp, she finally cornered and caught me. All I have to do is to reveal her the truth. That didn't took long as I expected. " U-uhm... yeah...", I shyly said, looking away from her to hide my forming blush on my cheeks.

"Oh my god, you sure do picked a great one!", she playfully smacked me in the shoulder which I gritted my teeth at how it stinged a bit. I just accepted it because I was doing it the same thing at others when I react at something that made me laugh or surprised about.
Her other hand though was covering her mouth after she said.

I got tensed even more and I don't know why. Maybe the fact that there's someone who also knows now who I am deeply in love with which I've been keeping a secret at for these past few months?

"Well... he is defi-", I was about to continue my words when suddenly, there's someone interrupted me. It sound like from a synchronized combined feminine voices and it was just near at me cause I can hear how slightly loud it is.

"Nayeon-unnie?!", then me and Yeri looked around beside me and saw three familiar women standing in shock. It was YN's childhood buddies Kim Dahyun, Son Chaeyoung and Chou Tzuyu, popularly known as the School Meal Club trio from our high school back then.

"GIRLS?", I exclaimed in disbelief. I sounded a bit more louder which made the library glare at us so I tried to lower my voice next. I really didn't expected that these three would attend the same university in college still as with YN.

"Unnie, y-you're here now too?", Dahyun who is in disbelief, stuttered when she asked me. The three then took the empty space next to us and Yeri.

"So you transferred here?", Chaeyoung asked me, following Dahyun's.

"Long time no see, unnie!", Tzuyu excitedly greeted me. I just smiled at how I missed this cute maknae in front of me whom I've been treating as my 'baby'.

"Thanks girls, I miss you too.", then I held all their hands as ours placed all together. Yeri just looked at us, completely no single idea of what's happening right now. I just chuckled then made the move to avoid her getting left out even more.

"By the way uhm, Yeri these are my friends from high school, Kim Dahyun, Son Chaeyoung and Chou Tzuyu.", I said to Yeri, pointing at these three gorgeous kids of mine with me. "Girls, this is Kim Yerim... my classmate and friend."

"Yall can call me Yeri which is my nickname, hehe.", Yeri added and all of them started to exchange handshakes together. I noticed that Chaeyoung somewhat gestured a greeting a someone she saw, mouthing a "yo!".

"Yo, YN saw us... Nayeon unnie did you-", Chaeyoung was asking me while switching her gaze back at YN. To find less suspicious and prevent catching YN's curiousity to come here and approach the girls, I stopped her quickly.

" SSSHHHH!! Please don't... yet.", I gestured Chaeyoung to keep silent and stop what she's doing.

"Ehh..? Why unnie?", Dahyun confusedly asked.

"Guys, remember they were exes before? Was that it, unnie?", Tzuyu looked at me. Yeri who just found out another revelation about me, can't help but to have her jaw dropped at what she just heard.

"Nayeon is that true?", Yeri asked me in surprise.

I sighed before I answer. "Yeah.". Now that my secret just keeps on getting unfolded, I have no choice but to just let it all out instead to them so that they, especially Yeri; can have a idea of what exactly happened to me. "You know what, I'll explain everything.", then to have our conversation to continue with a nice flow, we went outside the library and sat at one of the benches on the garden.

"Ok so here's the summary. Me and Jeongyeon broke up."

"WHAT?", The School Meal Club all exclaimed at the same time. They were shocked, except to one of us.

"Who's that?", Yeri furrowed her eyebrows.

"My ex-girlfriend who freaking played me like my heart is just a toy.", I said, I grunted a bit when I pronounced it, feeling once again the frustration that gets me whenever I remember what she did to me. I just gritted my teeth because of it.

Then I realized she was way worse than what YN has done to me. The huge difference was that YN showed to me that it was not clearly his intention to do that.", I said, my voice became a bit shaky now as I can feel the pain that is cursing through my heart again.

"What did he do to you?", Yeri asked me. Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu still keeps on listening to me.

"Nothing, I just felt he's getting cold to me at that time... but not because he's not dropping his love out of me.", I caressed my arm. " Let's say he got way more focused on his friends.", then I looked at the trio which they found theirselves guilty at what I mean. They gulped and bowed their heads at me, a frown formed on their faces.

"I'm sorry, Nayeon unnie."

"No don't be, let's forget about it. You guys have no fault.", I made them stop because what I was saying was true though. It was YN's mostly fault actually, not theirs. Then I started to explaining everything to them. "So going back, I remember when YN used to do everything to forgive him until when he got transferred to this campus. When he left, I felt saddened, aint gonna lie. Now it affects me much worse when these days after me and Jeong broke up... our memories are coming back in my mind.

Suddenly I feel longing for him. The perks of wanting and needing him again. So I followed him here, I transferred too in this school... to try and win him back.

In short, I'm in love with YN again guys... and I want him back.", after I made it all clear to them, my lips were twitching as I clenched my hands together and had my tears slowly coming out of my eyes; showing to them how it affects me that much that I badly want YN with me again and once again feel the affection of his love that was once intended only for me to feel.

Yeri then went to sit beside me closer with the trio stepping forward to comfort me. Yeri then gace me a side hug as she placed her arm behind my neck and gently rubbed my shoulder.

" That's very sweet and yes, I support you for that ofcourse, Nayeon unnie but-", Yeri paused during her words. Shr then looked at the trio as if they have same something in mind.

"Wait, you girls know what I'm about to mean too?"

" Hmm... I think, yeah.", Tzuyu said.

"Why, what is it?", I asked them as it made me curious what are they pointing out?

"Unnie, we would love to help you but-...", Dahyun nervously said. She just scratched her nape after and Chaeyoung instead continued what she was about to say to me.

"YN has a girlfriend now, unnie.", Chaeyoung said to me, pouting. What she just said made my heart like it stopped beating and everything around me stopped as the time froze in a quick snap. I just can't believe what I just heard.

I thought I came here, hoping that there's a progress, and improvement or anything for a reason I'll get for doing this. But hearing what Chaeyoung said made it look like it all melted away like a butter on a hot pan.

I didn't know that I'm already too late. I have no one to return at. YN is in love now with someone else, and my chance just completely dropped into 0%.

I wish I could've done it way early. If only I could turn back the time and do what I should've done years again to prevent him from giving up on me and letting me be with Jeongyeon completely as he looked for a new one to start a new beginning with, maybe there was a possibility that we could still be together again...

... and I was in the position of Lily instead.

"They were a bit long being together now too, 2 years if im not mistaken.", that shocked me even more. I never thought that YN would find someone other than me quickly.

"Really, he is?"

" Yes, unnie.", Tzuyu said. After that, we saw YN coming out of a library but this time he's not alone. He has a short haired with blonde streak girl with her. They look happy and sweet together. It didn't made me think other more than the huge obvious that she is definitely YN's current girlfriend they're talking about.

"That girl you saw earlier with him? That's hers.", Tzuyu said as she also looks at them like what I'm doing.

"Sorry, Nayeon unnie. That's what I'm about to point out to you too earlier.", Yeri apologized to me. Now I know why she was about to say something to me when we are heading off outside the library as I noticed she found something that made her hesistate.

"Mind if I have the name?"

"Lily Morrow. She's an Australian exchange student.", Dahyun introduced the profile of YN's girlfriend to me. Wow, looks like YN got bigtime with this one huh? He actually is in a relationship with a foreigner? YN charm just went on to the next level then.

"Based from what YN told me, she and YN first met in a class activity that requires duo.", Chaeyoung added.

"YN picked really well. She's pretty.", I said, appreciating the beauty of this Lily who captured YN's heart the same as what I did to him before.

"And talented too.", Tzuyu added. Dahyun and Chaeyoung nodded as they agreed to what Tzuyu said. They acted like they were singing after, so I guess that was a hint at Lily's talent she's great at and that is singing.

"Am I not? I still prefer that I'm even prettier also.", I said to them in a sassy way. I swayed my hair off and looked away at them, making them emit an "ooh" sound at me being the miss self-confident like I've always be.

"Oh here we go. The classic Im Nayeon we knew is back.", Dahyun rolled her eyes then laughed.

"Good to have you again, unnie.", Chaeyoung patted the top of my shoulder.

"Thanks girls.", I smiled at them. I slowly wiped out the tears around my eyes after with my handkerchief but Yeri stole it away from my hands and did it instead for me.

"So about the plan? Would you still continue to meet and talk with him again?", Yeri asked me.

"Yeah, I guess so.", I sighed. I straighten my body posture more, leaning away from the bench. "I'll not give up. Doesn't affect me that much still if he has already someone to love with, I'll just focus more on my other intentions then.", I looked at them with pure confidence and passion for this plan of mine. Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Tzuyu and Yeri just looked at me and with their smiles, I can clearly tell they have my full support on this one.

(3 MONTHS LATER)

"AND KIM PASSES IT TO LN WHO CATCHES IT...", the commentator declares when the screen showed a player named 'Kim' who's wearing a red and white football attire, representing the color of his team running then passed the rugby ball strongly, making it flew far away straight ahead to his teammate from the distance, who catched it.

" NOW HE'S RUNNING WITH BALL NOW AT 50, JEON STILL CHASING...", the TV screen now shows two players from each different team. It's yellow and red chasing each other like they're cats and dogs, giving all their speed to execute their respective agendas of preventing and escaping at each other. The player 'Jeon' from the yellow team now running just a bit of a gap behind player 'LN' from the red team who is about to step away from the 50 yard line along with the ball in his possession.

"LN STEPS AT THE 30... THEN AT THE 20... 10...", then right at the moment, the player 'LN' jumps with all his might, sacrificing his body as he crashed onto the ground hardly along with player 'Jeon' who tackled him, but was way too late when 'LN' reached the endzone. The crowd of Gangnam University then all went wild, especially the ones from the Seoul National University which is the school that player 'YN' is also representing; as they celebrated the impressive end of the game and the victory achieved by the red team.

"AND THAT'S IT!!! LN SEALS THE GAME OFF WITH AN OVERTIME TOUCHDOWN AND LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! IT'S A WIN FOR THE BUCCANEERS!!!", the commentators screamed their lungs put as they released their energy and tried to match the thunderous feeling surrounding the entire place right now. On the screen, it shows 'LN' slammed the ball hard on the ground and very proudly bragged the effort he made for his team.

"THEY'RE ONE STEP AHEAD FOR THE CUP AS THEY HEAD ON TO THE FINALS AS THEY MEET THE EAGLES. WHAT A GAME WINNING PERFORMANCE BY THE WAY FOR THE KOREAN NIGHTMARE YN LN!!", then after that, it showed player 'LN' joined his teammates and went for a body bump and celebrates with them along with the crowd who are chanting for them.

I looked at the final score which shows 34-28 as it ended in an overtime, where the victory was in favor of my team Seoul University Buccaneers courtesy of the touchdown I did. Gotta admit, it was really one hell of a game and kudos to Pusan National U Patriots who did their best also to fight and contributed very well to make this game such awesome. But still, we ruled this one because of our combined effort of enhancing our teamwork together.

"YOU DID IT DUDE!!! GOD YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER!", my teammate Tadano said to me in an overflowing flee. He thanked me so much that he even gave me a tight hug and I appreciated it very well.
But still, I don't want to just get all of the credits. I prefer to keep being humble still.

"I WOULDN'T GET IF IT WASNT STILL FROM YOU GUYS. GREAT JOB TO US!", then I offered them a high five which they all accepted.

"LET'S GO BOYS!!! BUCCANEERS TO THE FINALS BABYYY!!!", my teammate and our left guard Hoseok shouted which made us all let out a very loud 'OOOHHHH!!!' sound then we jumped together in excitement as we can now imagine how hell of a game the Finals is going to be since the team which is now only waiting for us to meet there, the Daegu Eagles are also such a strong team.

"OH, THE PRESS ARE LOOKING FOR US.", Hoseok said and pointed from a distance where we can see some of the media starting to look for us to interview. We are all about to go and approach them when suddenly as I looked around from the crowd, I saw someone that made me completely stood like a statue in my spot.

The familiar girl in my eyes... who once became my world, standing there and cheering for us. I saw her slowly stop her movement when our eyes met.

Those grin that entirely presents her shiny bunny teeth, as it rises those plump fluffy cheeks and widen the cherry colored lips of hers that I once loved to place mine on it whenever I want because she's just too adorable that it made me want to kiss her so much.

No it can't be.

Am I hallucinating?

She's here... I keep on rubbing my eyes but still she doesn't disappear in my sight.

Oh my god.

"I- Wait.. N-Nayeon?"

"HEY, NIGHTMARE!", I got intensely taken aback when someone clapped in front of my face very hard that made me aeaken back from the reality. I turned my heard around beside me and I saw the face of the woman who's motivating and supporting me in my career these days in football, my girlfriend Lily Morrow.

"YOU SEEMED OUT OF YOURSELF? Still stunned at what you did?", she asked me then she grinned.

"Oh... Lily... u-uhh yeah I guess?", I stuttered, trying to make her believe that there's no something strange happened to me just a while ago.

I then looked back quickly at where I just trying to confirm repeatedly in my head if it was all true. Turns out, she was nowhere to be found.

I looked around even more and I never saw any trace of her. Looks like I am dreaming awake or hallucinating or something.

Does that mean I miss her? Probably? I mean, I can't deny... until now I still want to see her.

I didn't really wanted to abandon her in our high school days few years ago but it really can't be helped. My teacher offered me a scholarship at Seoul National University where I can emhance my football skills there and join an official college football league, which is one of the things I've been dreaming for.

I never even got the opportunity to say sorry for what I've done. Now that I kept of seeing and thinking of her again makes me think that maybe she was looking for me still until today.

If only I have a chance to see her, I would really love to have some time for us to be together again like as usual friends catching up the times we lost.

Why am I acting this way? I may not have feelings anymore for Nayeon but deep inside my heart and soul I know in myself that I still cherish and care her... only as a friend now. Well I can't make it turn it into something more though. I have Lily now, and she has Jeongyeon with her. I'm hoping by the way that she is being treated right still.

But... if only there was no one who's holding us back, I would really glad to take a move once again to be her man again.

Oh Nayeon... I surely do miss you, huh. Where could you be right now, you bunny?

" Course you do, cause we are too. God, you're such awesome back there earlier babe!", then Lily crashed her body onto mine, hugging me tightly. I smiled at my girlfriend's action. She kissed on the cheek which I repay her back on her forehead. Then, I heard my teammates calling for me.

"Join them now! They need their master quarterback. Congratulations also, love!", then she playfully pushed me away from her which I just chuckled.

"Thanks, babe. Love you!"

"I love you too!", she shouted, using her hands to form like a megaphone.

(MEANWHILE...)

"Unnie what happened?", Dahyun asked the oldest whom she's following with. They stopped in the stairs and Nayeon turned around to face them.

"YN saw me.", she bowed her head. The rest just looked at each other then went back to Nayeon.

"What is his reaction?", Chaeyoung simply asked but she really eager to know what happened next.

"I can't tell much but i'm sure he must've shocked."

"So why are you running away?", Tzuyu took the turn to ask.

"Her girlfriend's about to walk towards her, okay?", Nayeon then ran her fingers along to her blonde hair while looking at her giant maknae. " I can't let myself occupy his mind, lose focus on her girlfriend. Don't want to look at them too for long cause my heart already hurts when I saw her coming for YN.", she then heaved a huge sigh.

"Now that he has a hint now that he knows you're here... I think it's really the time that you show your full presence to him again and do what you've been wanting to do with him.", Yeri adviced Nayeon, grabbing her in the shoulder and looked at her intently. "All you need is perfect timing, unnie. You both needed it so you have to and also, you've been trying this already for about 3 months now."

"Lily makes me stop my tracks but...", she paused for a moment then later returned back to continue her words after she thought for a second. " You're right... and don't worry, I already have something in mind."

(3 WEEKS LATER)

"....... Just keep waiting, and all they need is a gain to send the game to overtime.", the play by play announcer said to his fellow partner while staring directly into the game, keeping his eyes and following every player's movement in the game.

"Indeed Pax. Okay, 4th and 3, 3 yards shy of the distance to kick. 7 seconds left.", the color commentator said on the mic. "Empty backfield for the Buccaneers. L/N, extra man on the rush, circling. Circling again, nowhere to go.", he filled in some more information about what's happening in the game right now. The screen shows LN struggling to find a way escape on his opponents who are blocking his path.

"He's got an open man...", then LN threw the ball to the free teammate he saw which was Heungson.

"L/N, heaves it! Anddddddddddd, GOT IT! HEUNGSON, FIRST DOWN AND MORE, DIVING TO THE ENDZONE!", then the screen showed the wide receiver Heungson sacrificing his body to land hard onto the ground for the ball to advance onto the endzone. "GOOOOOOOOOD! LN came to bump his body towards his ally Heungson and join the rest for a victory huddle along with the crowd of Seoul Korea University cheering for them on their championship win.

"How. In. The. World. Does he managed to read the coverage? Goulding is over there, Jongpil is on the left side, and Youngjae is at the end zone already. Back and forth running and evasive quickness by L/N, and what a catch by Heungson.", the commentators started to talk about what did they just witnessed that led to the Buccaneers for their third championship win in the season.

"Park Heungson, with the game on the line, runs a 37-yard catch-and-run to seal the deal. Meanwhile, the quarterback Y/N L/N with a Seoul University school record of 6 touchdown against the Daegu University defense who is known for holding their opponents by 14 ppg.", the color commentator informed the viewers and his fellow commentators.
He shook his head a slightly laughed, the hint of amaze and impress on his face can be clearly seen.

"Unbelievable win. Your Seoul University Buccaneers are your ULTIMATE BOWL CHAMPIONS, MAKING IT THEIR THIRD ON THEIR HISTORY.", the he clapped before the camera switched next at the Buccaneers who are now wearing their championship winning custom shirts as they hugged each other and also their loved ones as part of their celebration.

(YOUR POV)

"Thank you, everyone... we will not get this championship if it wasn't for you fans who are here are out there watching at home or wherever you are, to our supportive coaches and to our families, loved one who keep supporting us on our road to victory.", I said then I roamed my pointing finger along to the people that I mentioned who are part of the crowd, watching me make a thank you speech for being awarded as the MVP of the Finals.

... and now here we are, your boys brought back the title to SEOUL!!! It's always such an honor to be part and play for this university! Thank you everyone, we love you all!", then I kissed my palm and raised it up. As I make my way downstairs, my girlfriend Lily came to me and locked me for a loving kiss. She's so sweet that all I can do was to smile uncontrollably and blush intensely.

God, I still can't believe we did it. All the hardwork we did... it paid off. We were praying and hoping before, now here we are... we got what we wanted. We are the champions for this season's Korean National Football League.

I can't help but to tear up also because this is such a great way to say goodbye for this school. Glad that the management set the venue of the game to our school which gave us even more motivation to win this for our school before we leave as the seniors. What a nice way to end our football career journey here in Seoul U.

-NAYEON'S POV-

I saw with my two naked eyes where YN kissed Lily in the lips and I admit... it made my heart clench and form like a ball. It hurts but, all I can do was to be happy for them... especially for him.
He got the girl he thinks who deserves for him and will ever get to experience how YN could able to pull off his improvement of being a boyfriend... which was previously dedicated only to me.

Such a lucky girl indeed.

I looked away to stop myself from watching them having that sweet moment of theirs. I felt my eyes getting teary but screw it, no need to drama. I need to focus on what I have in my mind right now.

I turned my head to Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Tzuyu and Yeri who are looking very worriedly at me. They just made a comforting face expression and nods a bit at me. I knew what it meant so I accepted it and gave the same gesture back to them

I blew a breath out onto the air before I made my way out onto the audience's chair.

"Now it's time...", I muttered to myself then I continued my steps.

Few minutes later, I found myself now sitting all alone at YN's locker room. I was waiting for him to enter. A bit nervous and scared but doing my best maintain myself calm. I want to make this moment very smooth.

Then I heard footsteps coming from outside. The volume grew louder anf louder until the feet of that someone who was making that noise made it's touch in front of the locker room door.

Though the one who showed isn't the one i'm expecting to have for. Instead, what I encountered is the one I was definitely expected NOT to meet.

"Sorry, who are you and what are you doing to my boyfriend's locker room?", Lily asked me, confused why a stranger like me is doing in a place that belongs to her boyfriend. Yup, i'm very screwed up and I'm literally wishing this one not to end up in a unpleasant way. "Are you a th-"

" No stop I'm not a thief!", I stood up from my seat, raising my arms and hands at her like I'm defending myselr. "I'm looking for YN."

"Mind telling me what do you want from him?", she crossed her arms.

"To talk. He knows me so can you please let me have one time with him?", I became a bit shy to look at her because I can feel that she's not gonna like how it sounds for her.

" And why should I? I don't even know who you are and also... I can't just let anyone come across my man that easily.", she raised her eyebrow at me and bluntly said it.

"Then let me introduce myself then, I'm Im Nayeon, fellow student of yours here, YN's friend and...", I was about to finish what I'm saying but Lily cutted me when she spoke quickly.

"Oh... now I know who you are.", she pointed at me, snapping her fingers. "Ofcourse, you're his ex right? The one who left YN and went on to look for someone because she aint getting satisfied anymore from what YN is giving to him.", then her face became serious.

"Yes, it's true but... I just want to-", my voice became shaky but yet again, she interrupted me.

"What? You're gonna ask him to come back with you?", she started to take a step forward onto me to confront me even closer. Her voice became deeper like she's getting pissed off at my presence here.

"Huh? T-that's not wh-", I tried to defend myself but she didn't let me.

"If you think for one second that you'll get a chance, well pop it off away cause you're not.", she then stared deeply into my eyes with her flaming black orbs. "Me and YN love each other and we've been going smoothly these days so can you please just leave him and us alone?

Don't ever try to make him feel what you feel too cause remember... you were given a chance before but you didn't took it.", oof, that got me straight to the heart that I never even got to dodge it because it was true. It hurted me but ofcourse, I can't just let myself being completely dominated here. I need to defend and fight back because it's not entirely my fault here anyways.

" I KNOW, NO NEED TO MAKE ME REALIZE OF IT!", I uncontrollably raised my voice to her, making her flinch. "But this business is between me and YN only so please, I respect you as his girlfriend and I won't do anything that will cause you and him's problem, what you made me remind is what I'm about to te-", I said to her with my hands now touching together and formed a gesture like I am praying to gods above that Lily here will let have this moment but suddenly it looks like the ones above heard my 'prayer' as a familiar voice made me pause from my words.

"Lily- wait what's going on....", YN appeared the door. After he looked at her girlfriend, he switched his gaze back to me who halted at an instant when I saw him.

And finally, we met. Our paths crossed again and now we are here at each other standing face to face. I saw his jaw dropped and his eyes widened at the sight of me, his ex girlfriend and the woman he doesn't know who's loving him again and wanting him to come back if only it could just happen.

"N-Nayeon?", he said my name. My heart melted when I heard that. It's been so long since I haven't heard call speak my name that I always loved to hear.

"There you go, I found her here looking like a creep, sitting and said she's waiting for you.", Lily looked at YN. She rolled her eyes and her aura completely changed as if she had her mood completely ruined today because of me.

But I don't care, I'm here only and will care for YN.

"For what?", he looked at me again and I did to same too before I turn my head to look around for a while.

"She wants to have a comversation with you. You know, I don't really want to let her but since it's about you and her's... the decision is up to yours.", Lily then sighed and formed a frown. YN came near at her and cupped her chin to raise her head. I didn't bother to watch them more because this scene will just slowly damage my feelings and emotions.

"Don't get mad, babe okay? I-I'll take this one. I won't that long, promise.", I heard YN speak it very closely to Lily.

"You better be. Now go and start, I'll wait outside.", then she patted his chest and gave one last glare at me before she took herself out of the room, leaving us alone together in the locker room.

"Thanks babe.", he said to Lily. Now it's just me and him. The awkward atmosphere is slowly covering us up for being silent and just staring at each other. Not until YN finally took the first move to break it.

"So I really didn't hallucinate earlier.", he said very softly and nearly like just it followed along with the flow of his breath. "We met again after a long time now huh.", then he showed me his awkward smile which I always found cute to him.

"How's you?"

"Doing well, no need to ask the same to you.", I asked, joining him. Now finally the official start of our conversation for the first time in nearly 3 years is here.
"After what happened just earlier I know the answer now."

"Obvious, huh.", he chuckled. I just smiled back at him. "You watched the game?", I just nodded as an answer. He then formed an 'o' shape on his lips.

"So... wait, Nayeon, you're a student here now?", he asked. I knew it that he'll find it very confusing.

"Yeah... I transferred.", I said. "I even met the trio now. They missed me, I see.", that resulted in YN saying a small "oh" sound to me.

" So uhm, why do you want for us to talk about?", then he sat on the bench and offered me to sit beside him. I offered even though I'm getting a bit shy, knowing that I'll be having this very close to him again after a long time of not seeing each other.

"Y-YN... I came here because of you.", I started to reveal now why am I really doing here right now in front of him. That made him stare at me, getting interested to hear more from me as I just keep my head down and continue to talk.

" I just want to say that I'm sorry. For not letting you have a chance to prove to me that you're willing to change at that time. You've been wanting for us to start again as a friends, but I didn't value it that well because I instead looked forward more to Jeongyeon w-who I loved but... tore me apart instead.", I said while intertwining my fingers.

"Wait, what happened to you and Jeong?", he then held my wrist and looked at me very closely. Looks like he got shocked at what he just heard from me.

"We broke up. She just played me and replaced me with her other reserve chicks she collected beside me.", I let out a painful laugh and a bitter smile. My chest is tightening again as the flashbacks of me finding out that Jeongyeon is secretly meeting with other girls than me showing once again in my mind. That time, I was completely devastated and I tried to search for YN but I just realized then that he already left and went to move on another school.

"Oh god, Nayeon I'm sorry.", he looked away and I can hear his series of sighs. I know he will be getting affected by this and for sure he must've really mad at what Jeongyeon did to me because he really wanted me to always become happy with her, but she then only gave in the end was to lie at me, broke my heart and my trust for her.

"It's fine, atleast I'm away from that stupid jock anymore. What matters now is that I-I'm near to you and having a conversation I usually love for us to have just like before.", I side-eyed him and went back to look at his hand who's holding my wrist. I seriously missed the feeling of his touch on me.

"So... back to what I'm saying, after I and Jeong broke up. I suffered a huge heartbreak. These past few months, I've been working out to me because it was such a trauma that happened in my life.", I continued my story to him. He then still continued to lend his ears all at me and attentively listened at what I am saying.

"And when I learned that you went to other school for college... I felt different, just as exactly the same as when I first saw you, but it was mixed with something else. Longing.

I went on keep missing you since you were gone. I keep wanting your presence for me to be felt... I... wanted to see you everywhere and not leaving my eyes. It got increased more when I always reminisce our good ol times back when we were together, and I thought... how good it must have felt if I'll experience it again, with you.

YN I still love you.", and I finally confessed my grown feelings of love once again to the man who once became my everything and now I want to be like the same as it is again. My voice is now trembling and I can feel my teardrops overflowing and ready to let go from my eyes.

"Nayeon...", he mouthed my name but I kept on continuing my words that I want to say to him up close.

"You broke my heart, yes... but I didn't care about that. Just knowing that you tried to prove me that you are willing to change and fix your mistakes back then, I know it would be safe to be in your arms again...

... but I chose instead to be blind and dumb for not focusing on it... for not appreciating your efforts just to make me forgive you. Such a regret I didn't tell to allow you.

I do forgive you, YN... and I hope you would do the same to me too. I didn't mean to break you heart like what I had to you, you didn't mean to anyways.", and I finally cried my heart out to him and I covered my face that is slowly getting messed up by my tears.

In an unexpected manner, YN pressed his body closer to me and cuddled me. That made me sob harder because I really really craved for this to have it again. This was the only thing that made me perfectly assured that I am safe and handled by care. He placed my head on his chest and I can feel the heartbeat of his that I can't tell if it's for his sympathy towards me or even just a glimpse that he secretly still feel something the same as me too.

"I do apologize too, Nayeon. For giving up already to you.", he said to me. It was like a whisper but it was all okay to me because I can feel how sincere he is. " If I was still holding on yet when Jeong wasted you... I could've been the one who saved you. But I didn't."

"I still have you in my heart, Nayeon. I think of you still sometimes but... I have Lily now with me. She's my girlfriend now and it's my responsibility to give everything she needs in our relationship.", he declares to me. That was bittersweet to me, but I just took it well cause atleast it was a relief and a music to ears for me to know that after all these time he still remembering me and brings it always with him even if I am not around him.

"One of it was to love. I can't just leave her and go back with you. Breaking a girl's heart again after what I did to you wouldn't sit well with me anymore. I'm sorry, Nayeon.", then my heart skipped a beat when I felt his teardrop fell onto my cheek. I looked up to him and I discovered that he got carried along with the moment we're having right now. He's also crying now with me.

"It's okay YN. I understand. In fact, I don't even expect from you to love me back, because I'm too late anyways...

I'm out of time.

I can't just keep you out from loving her because you made up your mind.", he nodded because he agreed at how true it is on what I said to him.

"But, can I have a favor and a promise to you?"

"Feel free.", he sniffed then he wiped his tears off with his clothes. He then went to open one of the locker beside him and reach for a clean white towel and it touched me when he used it to wipe my tears away.

"If she ever only messed up a little, broke your trust or anything she might cause a problem to your relationship, you know my line. I'll be one call away. Even better, don't be shy to come right back to me.

I'm still here, gonna wait for you while I support and being happy for you and Lily. Just... this time I don't want to lose the opportunity again to make you mine.", I finally said my favor and my promise also to him.

"I'll take note of it, Nayeon.", he said. It made me smile at his answer.

We both stood up and I faced him, our body just having a very little gap with each other. I looked up and said to him gratefully.

"Thanks, YN for the talk, seriously. Congratulations on your team's victory by the way.", I smiled, making my chubby cheeks rise at the expansion of my grin.

"Uhh I should go now, Lily must've waiting impatiently for you.", I nodded then I slowly walked away from him.
But before I got to exit his locker room, he called my name once again that made me stop from my steps and halt on the door.

"Nayeon."

"Hmm?", I turned around and looked at him.

"It's really nice to see you again.", he smiled.

I also smiled too and what happened next is I just let my body move on it's own with my heart controlling it and I walked towards him and went closer.

I leaned my face closer beside his face and I planted a peck of a kiss on his right cheek. As I leaned away, I saw him froze, his eyes largened and the red tint in his cheeks are slowly forming.

"You too.", I said to him for one last time before I finally have my way outside his locker room, leaving him all alone inside and just trying to process in his mind the kiss I did to him.
