"The Only Exception" | Jeongyeon x Male Reader

"School's look pretty big. Guess I'll be needing some trip around here.", you said while staring upwards at the large building in front of you that covers your entire sight. Yes, that's the school you are gonna be studying at.

In fact, you are a transferee. Your parents transferred you here due to some problems regarding your previous school. It was some sort of like... they aren't satisfied with their teaching methods there.

You entered the building along with some other fellow students who also wear the same uniform as yours. You looked left and right to see the ends of the hallway you're stepping at.

"Room 1... 2... 3 oh so it's 10 rooms each floor.", you said while counting the rooms by pointing them one by one by your finger. "Then that means mine is on second."

You upstairs to reach second floor. Then, you continued what you're doing just recently at the ground floor. "14.. 15.. 16, finally. Room 16 Section A.",you said as you stopped looking around to connect your eyes at one room from the right hallway, just right beside the stairs.

You saw a woman dressed in a teacher outfit standing outside the classroom. It seems like she's waiting for someone and since she looks like she's the one who assigned on this section, then that means she is your adviser.

"U-uhm, excuse me are you Mrs. Song?", you said after walking slowly towards this curly short haired woman.

"Oh yes, can I h-", she halted as she stared at you focusedly. "Wait, are you the new transferee in my class? Mr... L/N, am I right?", she pointed at you.

"Yes, t-that's me, maam.", you stuttered because you're nervous with this.

"Great, I've been waiting for you.", she clapped in success. "All are present now so I guess I'll be starting then. Stay here before I call you, okay?", she said and you nodded. She opened the door of the classroom afterwards.

"Good morning class, uhh I have some little announcement to make. Before we start the class.", Mrs. Song said it to the class who are paying attention to her. "Let me introduce to you our new transferee who will be joining us this 1st semester. You can come in now.You can now introduce yourself to the class.", she gestured to you as you were hiding from behind the walls near the door to take a peek.

You entered the classroom and everyone just watched you walk through their front along with Mrs. Song beside you. You cleared your throat before speaking. "Good morning everyone. I-I'm Y/N L/N, your new classmate here in Section A. I'm 19 years old and I hope we can get along well. That's all, maam.", you bowed at them and Mrs. Song smiled back at you.

"Ok, thank you for that introduction, Mr. L/N.", she said with a smile. "our seat will be in.... hmm oh, there beside Ms. Yoo.", she pointed at the vacant shair at the third row, beside a girl with long black straight hair bowing her head.

You thanked your adviser and you walked towards your seat. You placed your bag at the back of the chair of your classmate. After taking a sit, you glanced at your girl classmate who is busy doing something on her paper.

"H-Hi, I'm Y/N. What's yours?", you said. You try your best not to get awkward with her because you are friendly and you want to get to know her more as a friend.

"Yeah I heard your name out there in front, bozo.", she rolled her eyes and your jaw just slightly dropped because of hwo she called uou. "But I don't care, and mine's doesn't matter... so mind your own business.", she waved you off away, telling you to stop talking with her.

"Oh okay......, sure.", you said in a low-tine voice and forcing a smile. You respect her decision so you don't want to disturb her more. Some other time will do.  You returned back your attention at the blackboard where your adviser is about to start some lessons to tackle with.

The second subject of your class time just ended so that means the recess break is now on. While returning your books to your bag, you sensed some two girls which is also your classmates; approaching near to your seat.

"Hey, ostrich, let's go!", you heard the girl shouted. Your eyebrows furrowed after you heard that. Why is this girl calling your seatmate...ostrich? Don't tell me it's her name...

" O-oh wait, hiii! Your name's Y/N, right?", the girl turns her sight at you. You heard her asking about your name so you turned your side at the left side and there, you saw your brown long haired girl classmate who looks exactly a rabbit because of her visible bunny teeth with puffy creamy cheeks. Beside her is another girl classmate of yours, who is short black haired with big round eyes, grinning at you which shows her cute pinkish gummies. They are standing just beside your seatmate. Both of them looks beautiful, you thought.

"Y-yeah it is.", you answered, stuttering.

"Nice to meet you!", she offered her hand to you. "I'm Nayeon and this my friend Jihyo.", she said, introducing their names. You accepted Nayeon's big hand for a handshake. You were quite shocked because it feels like your hand got almost entirely covered by her grip.

"Hey, Y/N.", Jihyo greets you, waving her hand so you did the same too.

"And i'm sure you already know the os-", Nayeon was about to finish her words when suddenly she got interrupted by your seatmates whose face tells exacty that he's getting bored now being between in this situation.

"Alright, let's go. I'm hungry.", your seatmate said with no energy. "Enough talking with the newbie.", she stood and then starts to head out of the classroom, leaving you with a blank face trying to think what did you do wrong while Nayeon and Jihyo just bowed their head then shaked it slowly.

"Hayst, there she is again.", Nayeon sighed heavily, looking at the door where her friend just walked out.

"Did she treated you like that?", Jihyo asked you.

"Uhh yeah, but it's fine.", you forced yourself to make a small smile. " I could've been kinder to her for introducing myself to her. Guess it's my fault why she did not tell her name to me."

"She didn't?", Nayeon's questionable face leaned closer a bit.

"Well, that ostrich name's Jeongyeon. Thank us later.", Jihyo nodded once at you. You whispered thanks to her. Welp, finally atleast you know your new seatmate's name is. You made an "ooh" sound, interested at what actually Jeongyeon is. Thinking about what you just experienced from her, does she really hold a bad personality or this day just doesn't cooperate with her that well?

"HEY WHAT'S UP WITH YOU TWO, ARE YOU COMING OR NOT?", Jeongyeon appeared at the doorway, shouting loudly at Nayeon at Jihyo. Her loud voice made the entire people inside the classroom look at her. Good thing your teacher isn't around at this time.

She entered the classroom again but instead of coming towards her friends, she walked towards to your side instead. She crossed her arms and looked at you with no emotion on her face. "Can you please stop distracting my friends, weirdo? we need to take a lunch now.", you just stared at her, still confused why is she like this to you. You are just being friendly like you always do.

"Fine, COMING!", Nayeon raised her voice a bit, showing a bit of irritation by how her friend acts. After Jeongyeon walks away of the classroom again, Nayeon poked your shoulder.

"Hey, you'll joining with us.", you were shocked. You want to decline because Jeongyeon will be there with them too. You don't want her to make her blood boil even more just by your presence.

"W-wait, b-but wi-", you were about to attempt to give some reasons but Jihyo cuts you off.

"We got this. Just follow us.", Jihyo said. You don't want to waste their offer because they are atleast being good at you and you wanted to make friends already at your first time here in this school so you have no choice but to accept it. You just answered with an "okay" and there. Jihyo gently pulled you up with her arm, making you follow them with their tracks.

You, Nayeon and Jihyo were walking at the hallway now on the way to the cafeteria. They are a bit ahead of you because they knew this place more than you do. You three can see Jeongyeon about to take a turn at the end of the hallway when suddenly, something unexpected just happened.

A student girl who looks like she's enjoying telling a story on her friend  accidentally bumped Jeongyeon after she stepped backwards, not knowing that the famous bully of the campus is walking along the hallway.

After the student girl bumped Jeongyeon, her friend gasped in shock and terror... even the students who also witnessed it too. From your view, you can see her friend slowly pointing at Jeongyeon which made the student girl nervously turned around to face Jeongyeon who is giving her a death glare.

"Oh sh-"

"Look where you're going at, freak. You just bumped onto me!", Jeongyeon shouted angrily at her. The student girl flinched by the sudden raise of the bully's voice.

"S-sorry, Je-Jeong-", the girl is stuttering, even her voice is now shaking along too with her body.

"Unless... you did that on purpose....", Jeongyeon then slowly walked closer to the poor girl, making her even more terrified because it looks like she knew exactly what's gonna happen after Jeongyeon said those words. The girl just walks backwards to avoid getting even closer at the intimidating presence of the famous bully.

"N-no please she didn't! She was just reenacting a story to me. She didn't know-", the poor girl's friend came along to defend her but Jeongyeon turned her head fast at her making her stop immediatly on finishing her words, gulping hard at Jeongyeon's cold glare.

"Zip it, loser.", Jeongyeon said it with sharpness on her pronounciation of it. She pushed the poor girl on the locker, then she trapped her by putting her hand just beside the poor girl's head while her other hand is gripping on the collar of the poor girl's uniform. "Listen to me, if you're clumsy as hell then don't be so act-"

"I gotta stop her.", you said while watching Jeongyeon continuing to hurt the girl verbally with her harsh words. You can't stand this anymore, because you don't know what Jeongyeon might do next to make the girl pay for what she did even though she didn't do it on purpose in the first place.

You completely hate bullies, that's why. And now, learning that Jeongyeon isn't really on the bad mood for today, because clearly she's always like this EVERYDAY. You were disappointed, yes. You admit that Jeongyeon has all the beauty in her looks outside, but sadly it doesn't match her inside.

You were a victim of bullying before, and there's no other way that you'll gonna let this pass to others. You don't want them to experience the same as you.

Jihyo turned her head at you after she heard you, looking at you in disbelief. " Wait, WHAT? Y/N, you don't know wh-"

"No, I just can't let this two getting bullied. Let me.", you cut of Jihyo's words while not looking at her and still sticking your eyes at the sight of Jeongyeon showing what a bully she is. You started to walk away from Nayeon and Jihyo but Nayeon tried to catch your arms, only to fail.

"But Y/N!", Nayeon tried to stop you but you're meters away from them already. You heard them calling your name but you just ignored it. "Oh god. He's screwed.", she said in a low tone, Jihyo agrees with her then she watched you walk towards Jeongyeon with worriedness in her eyes.

The poor girl was about to follow Jeongyeon's command by making her kneel in front of her to apologize. Jeongyeon is smirking by how embarassed the girl looked right now, but before the girl finally had her knees touch the ground.. you came on the rescue, standing behind Jeongyeon.

"Get up.", you said. Jeongyeon heard your voice and she recognized it instantly. She turned her body to face you, looking at you skeptically. The girl just slightly opened her mouth in shock  by your courage to step closely at the famous bully of the campus. What's more unbelievable is that you are just a transferee and you already have the guts to interfere at the bully's business. The students who are watching starts to whisper something at one another because of this.

The girl feels like you can be trusted so she slowly gets up while Jeongyeon isn't looking at her. She immediately goes back with her friend, who is now hugging her in comfort.

You and Jeongyeon are now having a some sort of like a Western stand off, eye to eye contact at each other. You then took the first move to speak. "Hey, can you stop? She's sorry for it already, don't make such a small thing be a big deal to you."

"And who the hell are you to stop me huh, newbie?", Jeongyeon raised her eyebrow at you.

"I just told you my name already earlier, didn't I?", you awkwardly said at Jeongyeon.

Jeongyeon remembers and understands what you meant. Yeah, when you introduced yourself to her and she didn't even did the same. "Y-yeah b-but... are you making fun of m-me?", she chuckled at first but it shifted into an irritated grunt.

"No, I was just stating the obvious, Jeongyeon.", you slowly said her name in the end, making the long black haired girl in front of you widen her eyes a bit. She knows that she didn't told you her name so that was unforseen for her to witness you mentioning her name.

She cursed in her mind after she finally knew that Nayeon and Jihyo definitely told you instead her name,

"Did y-you just say m-"

" You heard me.", you shrugged. Jeongyeon is trying to calm herself despite she's being making fun by you. She closed her eyes to inhale and exhale deeply.

" Listen, newbie. You don't know who you're messing at. ", she said, shaking her head while giving you the most intense smile she can do... just to give it for you to let you know that you really did a bad move right now for sticking your nose to one of the things she really loves to do.
"Everybody is scared at me... and you should be too."

"Uh... but how? I don't see anything scary about you.", you raised your one hand to trace her. Her face is twitching with anger right now, she has reached her breaking point... that's why she needs to do this.

"Then how about this?", she grabbed both of your shoulder then proceeds to drag you, switching your positions with you being slammed on the lockers. She trapped you just like what she did to the poor girl earlier, but this time her eyes has fire inside of it, staring at you as if she can definitely see your soul right now.

But that didn't work to you, as if you're like immune already to it. "Meh. Still no.", you showed no fear in your exppression. Then you looked around her face, you can't help but to say it to her the one thing you only notice just by looking at her so that she can be reminded what does she show to you instead. It's like, breaking her own expection by showing her the reality.  "Wow, looking closer at face, I can tell you are really beautiful...", you said in a low tone but enough for her to be heard.

Her eyes widened, blinking rapidly at your sudden compliment. No one says it like that to her, so she doesn't know why she... liked it. But oh well, she needs to hide it to look tough. "D- dumbass, what are you s-saying?", she stuttered, still having goosebumps from what you just said.

"Yeah you heard me, and that's not a lie.", you  Because of that, you look cute rather than intimidating.", you said assuringly. Now she's blushing, she tried to hide it by looking away from you. She doesn't know why her heart is beating so fast.

"Agh screw this. I d-don't have t-time for this. Lets go!", she pretended that she is getting tired of any of this just to get out of this and stop this unexplainble feeling she's having. Nayeon and Jihyo heard that they being called but they didn't immediately followed Jeongyeon entering the cafeteria because to went towards you first.

You saw them with jaws slightly dropped along with everyone on the hallway too. "How did you do that?", Nayeon whispered at you.

"You're the only one who is not close to her that made her stop from bullying students.", Jihyo said to you, shaking your shoulder gently. Wait, they're serious? You said to yourself. She doesn't look like a bad person to you. In your perspective, she is more of like... trying her best to be like that. You feel that it's not her intention after all.

"Oh, really?", you said to yourself. Now, you can see that this is getting interesting. You're asking to yourself.... who are you really, Jeongyeon?

"Oh great, the annoying dump is here.",Jeongyeon sighed heavily, dropping her spoon and fork.  "What are you doing here?"

"We invited him.", Nayeon said, taking her seat along with you and Jihyo. You are sitting between them while Jeongyeon is on another side so that means... you are facing her.                     "Cmon, let's order."

"I'll be the volunteer.", you stood up. Jeongyeon just clicked her tongue but deep inside she's liking your gentleman act. You asked Nayeon and Jihyo their orders then you went ahead to the counter to order.

"You all should've invited that dummy. I'm afraid I'll lose my appetite.", Jeongyeon snarkily said, giving a sharp pronounce at the word 'dummy'.

"Haish, whatever Jeong. He is nice, be friends with him.", Jihyo said.

Jeongyeon chuckled sarcastically. "There's no way in hell."

"Pshh. I doubt it.", Nayeon points her lips sideward. "Hey by the way, did we clearly saw right earlier that he... made you stopped from bullying that girl?", she said, leaning her face closer to ask Jeongyeon intently.

"That's shocking of you, did he do something we didn't-", Jihyo smirked. Jeongyeon immediately interrupted her to defend herself.

" N- no, it's just... he- told me something that- I...", series of stutter comes out of her mouth. She gulped hard, thinking of any reasons to say.  "Agh. I hate him that's it, and I don't want him to get closer to me anymore but now here I am... sitting with him right at my favorite time too.", she crossed her arms, looking somewhere.

"Jeez girl, chill.", Nayeon slightly laughed at the sight of her annoyed friend.

"You know what, we want to be friends with him and you should try to get to know him more. I swear, I can suspect that there's something in him that made an effect on you.", Jihyo said confidently.

"Whatever."

"Hey guys, here's your food.", you said as you finally arrived at your table with them, holding the tray full of food on a plate and some drinks. They mouthed thanks, then you start placing the orders on the table carefully, still being a gentleman to them while Jeongyeon is just secretly watching you.

After you took a seat, Nayeon asked you something. "So, Y/N. Since we want to be friends with you, can you tell us something more about you?"

You started to tell them stories about you, with Nayeon and Jihyo all ears at you. Little did you know that Jeongyeon is also secretly listening too, interested to know something about you too.

1 month had passed and you are already close with Nayeon and Jihyo. They've been really great to you and you're grateful that they became your first friends since you arrived in this school. Except for Jeongyeon... oh well, nothing changed with how she treats you. It's like an everyday routine, whenever you're around she speaks harshly about you, calling you inappopriate and hurtful nicknames.

But at the same time, she still can't figure out why she always want to be near at you

You're just letting her but you ain't gonna lie... it hurts your feelings too because it all reminds you of your past before. You're letting her because you still believe that she's not really on her true self.

Until one day, she didn't know that she will cross a line on her actions to you.

"Good morning, Y/N!", Nayeon and Jihyo greeted you in sync after they saw you entering the classroom.

"Hey.", you simply answered. There's no emotion in it. It's blank and something is lacking on it. Well, you just don't want to lie to yourself by greeting them back with it even though your morning isn't even good at all.

"You look... pale, Y/N. Are you okay?", Jihyo asked you worriedly. Your eyes are a bit puffy so it's visible already that you're really not... but you just don't want them to be concerned about you. You don't want them to be sad just because of you. You  don't want to ruin their fun for today.

"Yes."

"You sure? Maybe we can help if it's a problem...", Nayeon is the one who asked you this time.

"No, I swear. I'm okay, don't worry about me.", you just waved your hands off at them. You took a seat at your chair after placing your bag. Nayeon and Jihyo still doesn't let their eyes go away on you because they are sure that you really have a problem.

"Okay, if that's- "

"Hey you two, let's go borrow some books at the-", the three of you didn't noticed that Jeongyeon arrives at the classroom. After walking towards her seat, she looked at you, squinting her eyes, noticing something different in you. "Huh, surprising to see you idiot without smiles today."

Jeong-", Jihyo tried to stop her but Jeongyeon still continues to talk.

"What happened? Oh, did he finally figured out how to shut up?", she teasingly said, humming at you. Your mood just dropped even lower. You are also feeling the same thing how Jeongyeon feels whenever you're being annoying at her. " Good for him, cause I need to take a break of listening to such unpleasant noise.", she lets out a sigh, showing how peaceful it is for her to not hear your voice.", you twitched your head, fist clenching as it lays at the top of your deskboard.

"Keep it up, Y/N. That suits you better.", and with that, you finally had enough. You stood up aggresively, making your chair move which caught everyone's attention around you. You stroked your hair tightly, tears are starting to form in your eyes. Then you turn your head at Jeongyeon who was doing a smug face, now turned into pure seriousness after.

"Can you just leave me alone for once, Jeongyeon?!", you said with rage on your voice. Jeongyeon stepped back in shock, staring in disbelief at you because she never thought that you will end up like this from the way she treats you. "Look, I have a really bad day right now and you're really getting into my nerves.", your teeth are grinding at each other with lips twitching as you stare directly at Jeongyeon which for the first time... she felt frightened at someone who is raising a voice at her other than her parents.

She tried to come up for a reason still.  "Why should I? It's-"

"JEONGYEON!", both Nayeon and Jihyo shouted at the same time to stop Jeongyeon completely.

"I'm out of here. I don't want to hear any more of this.", you walked out fast away from them because you want to be alone for a while, far away from them... especially Jeongyeon. The pressure and stress is getting over to your mind already. Seeing your parents fight again yesterday is enough for you already to feel an immense amount of pain is enough for you already, and now this too?

Jeongyeon, Nayeon, Jihyo and the rest of your classmates watched you as you walk out to the classroom. Their eyes went next to Jeongyeon who is responsible for this but except to her, she is still staring at the door and there, she felt a guilt at what she did.

For the first time, she felt... sorry at something that she always love to do.

"Look what you did. You pissed him off more. Congrats.", Nayeon sarcastically said to Jeongyeon, doing a fake clap at her.

"What's wrong with you Jeong?", Jihyo turned Jeongyeon around forcefully because the latter is still motionless, stunned at your outburst she received earlier. "We're already trying to stop you. That harsh words you just gave to Y/N won't make him feel any better.", she formed a frown on her face after she heard the last words. She realized that you're having a problem right now and you're having a bad day. Now she thought that it was really unneccessary for her to do that to you.

"He's not in the mood right now so atleast control your actions ,okay? He's still human so please give him a break on your cruel acts."

"H-he's not o-okay?", she stuttered, asking Jihyo in a low tone. That right there is one of the rarest things she ever done in her entire life: showing others who isn't part of her life that she cared for them.

"Yeah, he is.", Nayeon said. "But he didn't shared his problem to us, yet we still figured out that he's not doing well right now. Maybe it is personal."

Nayeon then slowly raised her eyebrow as she was fascinated after she observed something different in Jeongyeon who is looking down at the floor, still keeping the frown on her face. "Why? You concerned? That's shocking.", she scoffed.

"What? N-no-", Jeongyeon raised back her head, denying the truth with her lies again.

"You know what, just apologize to him okay? He deserves it. ", Jihyo said, holding Jeongyeon's left shoulder. Thinking about her friend's advice, she returned back her gaze at the doorway where you went earlier to leave the classroom.

She is amazed at herself that she will freaking apologize to someone for something she never regretted to do before... not until when it comes to you.

And now, Jeongyeon is starting to ask herself...

What is happening to her and what did you do to her to be like this?

You left the restroom after letting all your tears out because of the suffering you feel inside your body, from experiencing some things you never wanted to receive in your whole life. You went next to the libary to make yourself feel better by going in a place that requires nothing but silence only, aka the library.

You were reading a horror book until suddenly you didn't detected that someone is already standing near at you, watching you read while still nervous at what she's about to do.

You lowered your book to adjust the angle of your arms a bit and there, you finally saw Jeongyeon who is looking at you............ anxiously?

You didn't dare to look at her as you continued to read your book. "Not again, please. I want peace."

"I came here for it.", she said. Well that is a surprising one. Did a person who brings trouble to anyone just wanted to have peace?

Looks like villains really are getting tired too... and that made you feel... happy. Yes, because you slowly observing that your thoughts are coming true that she has this soft side she never shows to anyone.

"Look, I'm sorry.", she said, intertwining her fingers together while looking at it. " I didn't know you have a problem. I know it's my fault so I understand if you'll get mad at me."

"Fine, apology accepted.", then she looked at you confusingly. You flipped a page of the book next.

"W-why? That's too easy for you to-"

"So? I just can't resist you, that's why.", you said it, now looking at her as your eyes went away from the book you're reading.

"R-resist? What are you saying, dummy?", she chuckled nervously, repeatedly looking away from you. You can't help but to smile at her instead because she really looks adorable being like this and you don't know why.

"I don't know... I just feel like it. I want to get along with you, even though you're verbally abusing me. I sense something different in you, maybe that's why?", her face got red. She wants to slap her face over and over to stop this, but no... all she gotta do was to act like she's unaffected.

"I- I don't know what you're talking about and you don't know me well so..."

"Then let's get to know each other.", you shrugged while smirking at her. Her face gets even more reddish.

Actually she really wanted to since the beginning because she finds you interesting since when you complimented her and she felt something unique deep inside her, but she's just too shy to do it in a nicer way so what she does instead is she uses her usual way of getting closer to others to you.

"W-What? I would never..."

"Fine, you don't want to? Maybe I should just take back my-", her eyes widened in fright. She don't want the opportunity to get wasted this time. She needs to do it this time.

So, she stopped you right off, cutting your words to avoid you finishing it. "Okay okay! Jesus.", she sighed. She can't believe she just accepted your offer. You silently celebrated, finally having a chance to have a closer relationship with her.

You two went silent for a second, not untill she decided to break it, clearing her throat off first before speaking. "So, I- I guess you're studying Science.", she saw your textbook along with some paper with it placed on the table aside.

"Yeah, I had to.", you scratched your nape. "I suck at this subject."

"Atleast you know.", she said. Then she thought of an idea which she is to refuse but at the same time she wants to do it. "W-would you want me to t-teach you?", she looks weird at herself, confusingly asking herself again why is this happening to her.

"Did I heard you right?", you leaned your ear closer to her, only to result with her twisting your earlobe, making you scream in agony. The two of you received a "sshhh!" from the librarian because of that, and Jeongyeon unexpectedly........ smiled at that.

"Are you deaf or what? Stupid.", she said while you're rubbing your ear that has been twisted.

"Alright fine! Sure, if that's what you want.", deep inside Jeongyeon felt happy with that.

"At my house, this afternoon at 4. Better not be late or I will leave you waiting for me all day.", she said, crossing her arms.

"As if you can.", you made a sound of disagreement at her.

"I-idiot! I'm serious."

"Just kidding.", you laughed, making the sound low. Jeongyeon was about to throw hands at you but you defended yourself by covering yourself with your arms. Good thing she's just teasing you as she retreats her hands back.

Then you remembered something that just happened recently. You wanted to point it out because you actually wanted it to happen. "By the way, smile more just like what you did earlier? It suits you better, I swear."

and Jeongyeon just blushed with that. After that. she finally decided that...she needs to just let herself be affected by your compliments on her.

Because she now knows that there's an unexplainable feeling growing inside of her when it comes to you, and she can can clearly tell that it is love.

Later, you arrived just minutes before the exact time which Jeongyeon mentioned that you and her will meet up. You got picked up by her along with her driver and both of you went ahead to her house to start tutoring you on Science.

The session went out well, even though she is very strict at you when it comes to teaching. You complained a bit to her and fortunately it works as she lowered down her harsh words at you.

You thanked her for doing this and you went home at 9 but before that, you went first at the mall after you planned something to buy for her as an additional thank you slash birthday gift to make her feel more appreciated.

You recalled that she mentioned her love for Legos so you bought a Star Wars Lego set for her on her birthday tomorrow.

The next day, Jeongyeon went back at the classroom after going to the restroom. After she opened her bag to reach something, it turns out she found something inside she did not expect.

She saw a new Star Wars Lego set box.

She pulled it out, and she saw a sticky not at the bottom of it.

She lets out a smile because it was too uncontrollable for her to contain. She pats the box before returning it to her bag. Just right at the exact moment, Nayeon and Jihyo appeared beside her.

"What are you smiling at, birthday girl?", Jeongyeon flinched in shock. She saw Nayeon asking, bending her body just to face her.

"Ooh, is that a lego set?", Jihyo points out at the lego box  Jeongyeon is holding. It was slightly can be seen because it's not fully being placed inside the bag." Wait, don't tell me you're gonna play here."

"O-ofcourse not! This is just a gift for my birthday.", she said. Her two friends doesn't know how much she's panicking.

"Then who gave you that? I'm sure only one of us who are close to you will give you a gift. The rest here won't even dare to have contact with you.", Nayeon questioned her.

"So, it's not you... it's not me... then I guess it only left us with one person.", Jihyo joined Nayeon's flow, pointing herself and to Nayeon while she's saying this.

"Y/N!", Jeongyeon gulped. "Omg, she gave you that?", Jihyo asked her.

"Oohhh... I thought you hate him but why are you s-", Nayeon is smirking at this, and now here's Jeongyeon ready to fire back to defend herself from the reality.

"I-its not what you think you dorks!", she exclaimed. The two just looked at her because she looks so hilarious. This is my favorite ofcourse so I'm happy to receive this. I appreciate his gift but there's no way I'll be smiling for him."

"Oh Jeongyeon, you're too bad at lying.", Jihyo massaged her temple, chuckling after hearing Jeongyeon's fake reason.

You entered the room again along with your teacher because of some important thing to discuss about privately.

"He's finally here!", Nayeon said after looking at you. "We'll go back on our seats now, you can have your moment with him.", she winked at Jeongyeo

"Just admit it, Jeongyeon.", Nayeon whispered to her for the last time before , seperating herself away from Jeongyeon to go back to her seat.
Jeongyeon just rolled her eyes in response even though the truth is that she literally felt chills when Nayeon said that.

You also went back to your seat and gave her a warm smile before greeting her a happy birthday, making her heart flutter even more to you.

You were the first one who greeted her on her special day.

You've grown on her so much, she thought to herself.

Almost 2 months later and things are just going well still between you and Jeongyeon. Her feelings for you just keeps on going higher and higher and being the typical tsundere type, she keeps it as a secret for you to not notice because she's afraid that one day you might found out.

3rd week of January and you were assigned by your adviser to compete for the upcoming quiz bee contest in your school. Since your adviser teaches 2 sections, she picked 2 students which she thinks who are very good at English subject. You knew to yourself that you're having a great performance during English class but it didn't made you expect that you will be picked.

You also learned that the student your adviser picked from the other section is a girl named Minatozaki Sana. She's Japanese and when you two met, your adviser hoped that you two will get along well since you two will work as partners to represent your grade level.
And both of you did, you two get to know each other well.

Here comes the unlikeable part though. Since you two are busy preparing for the contest, you haven't had any time to be with your three friends... and that makes Jeongyeon sad the most. She also always saw you with Sana being happy at each other around the school.
Just the sight of these makes her feel really jealous.

Whenever you saw her too while you're with Sana, you just wave your hand at her... and ofcourse since she's feeling jealous while seeing you with Sana... she didn't respond that nicely, so since instead greeted you with a flat smile.

You and Sana went to win 2nd place award, enough for your adviser and her fellow ones who also teach on the same grade level to be proud of you both. You and Sana both celebrated together after.

Weeks later, just a day before Valentines Day, Jeongyeon was walking at the hallway along with Nayeon and Jihyo when suddenly, she saw something that made her heart torn apart in a snap of a finger.

She saw you getting kissed by Sana in the cheek then hugged you afterwards.

Jeongyeon stopped at her tracks because she can't move anymore at how sadly she was stunned on witnessing that unneccesary moment she doesn't need to see.

Nayeon and Jihyo also stopped walking and they turned their heads at Jeongyeon who has her tears all forming up in her eyes. She then ran back to go on somewhere where no one can see her............ crying. Nayeon and Jihyo followed her though and now the three of them are in the back of the building of the school.

Jeongyeon is sitting with her back leaning on the wall, hugging her knees while crying heavily. Nayeon and Jihyo just watched their poor friend being like this. They gotta admit, they feel super pity for Jeongyeon because it's such a rare thing for her to watch her cry that much.

"Hey, Jeong... what happened?", Nayeon sat on her ankles, placing her hand on Jeongyeon's shoulder.

"It's n-nothing. Don't mind me."

"Seriously, Jeong. You rarely cry, so that means there's a big problem. Now as your friends can you please just share it to us? We're worried for you.", Jihyo combed Jeongyeon's hair gently.

"You know we are always here to help you, right?", Nayeon said in a low tone.

"I-It's Y/N...", that namedrop just made Nayeon and Jihyo look at each other like they are telephatically saying "knew it" at each other. "I-I saw her hugging Sana and they seem... h-happy at each other... especially when she kissed him. I-I'm too late.", Jeongyeon wiped the tears in her face using her hand but Nayeon gave her scarf instead.

"So you do have feelings for him.", Jihyo said. Jeongyeon slowly raised her head to look at her friend and then... she nodded. She revealed it finally that she's secretly having a crush on you.

"Ssh... it's okay, Jeong. You can't do anything about it.", Nayeon gently patted Jeongyeon's back. "Even if you want to force them to break up or turn back the time to confess to him early just because you want him more for you, you can't. All you gotta do was to accept the painful truth.", Jeongyeon lowered her head even more, sighing tiredly.

"There's still many guys out there-"

"NO!", Jeongyeon shouted at them, shaking her head. Nayeon and Jihyo just stared at her after they flinched from her loud voice appearing out of nowhere.

"I- I don't know how I could find any guy like him, because h-he's unlike anyone out there. He's one of a kind to me. I don't think anyone can do to me the same as what Y/N is able to do. His effect to me is just undescribable and unrecognize and I somehow... liking every single bit of it.
I just love Y/N so much but my stupid self can't confess to him couragely and now here I am, watching somebody finally went ahead of me to win a race. A race of stealing Y/N's heart.", her lips trembled and once again, she teared up but she immediately wiped it using Nayeon's scarf.

"I should've accept being rejected rather than seeing them like this, maybe the pain could've get lessen."

After some few more minutes to let Jeongyeon release the pain she keeps inside her, they returned back inside the school, and speaking of coincidence. You meet them as they are walking onto the hallway.

"Oh hey guys, I was all l-", you noticed Jeongyeon's face is a bit messed up by... tears? Her eyes are a bit reddish and puffy. "Jeongyeon, why did you cry?", but she immediately continues to walk, ignoring you. You look at Nayeon and Jihyo next cluelessly.

"What happened to her?"

"Can we ask you something?", Nayeon asked you seriously.

"Sure, what is it?"

"Are you and Sana... like... there's really something going on between you two? Are you two mutual?", Nayeon asked you. Your eyebrows met after hearing that and by the next second, you burst out into laughter.

"Pft what? No. Sana and I are just friends.", Nayeon and Jihyo remained silent. " Why? I swear, she's great but I don't have any feelings for her, even her also."

"But we saw her kiss-"

"Nah forget it. She's just bubbly and clingy. I just let her like that because well... that's where she's comfortable at. It's her personality after all.", you waved it off at them.

"O-okay, sure thanks, Y/N.", Jihyo stuttered, nodding her head fast at you.

"By the way, Jeongyeon just had some s-sort of a f-family problem. Alright bye bye!", then Nayeon and Jihyo left you all along in the hallway. You were kinda surprised because you remembered how Jeongyeon is bragging about her family being perfect.

Well, guess you can say that nobody is perfect... right?

"JEONGYEONNNN!!!", Nayeon called Jeongyeon who is eating a ramen at the cafeteria. The other students looked at her because of how loud her voice is, and that made Jihyo softly slapped Nayeon's arm as a warning.

"Whut?", Jeongyeon asked, not looking at them.

"You won't believe what we just found out.", Nayeon excitingly said. That made Jeongyeon even more curious from how her friend is acting weird right now.

"Eh?"

"Y/N!!! HE DOESN'T HAVE A CRUSH ON SANA AND NEITHER SANA TOO! IT'S YOUR CHANCE, JEONG!", Nayeon whispered loudly at Jeongyeon. That right there made her mood slowly lightened up. Did she heard it right?

"Wait, you sure?!", Jeongyeon asked. She knew that she saw you being kissed by Sana though. She thought she might confessed to you and you accepted it, that's why her heart clenched tightly.

"Yeah, and what you saw earlier was just a friendly one.", Jihyo said. Jeongyeon can't help but to feel relieved at that information. "Now go and do what you must do and you know what perfect time for you to do that."

Jeongyeon went back frowning again. "I-i'm scared b-but for h-him... I will d-do my best.", she gulped, nodding at them. Nayeon and Jihyo felt proud for her. Now they are anticipating this moment to happen tomorrow.

Anyways, here's a little flashback from earlier so that it can be more clear for you to understand what's the cause of the kiss you received from Sana.

"Thank you for the advice, Y/N! Ooh, I hope Dahyun feels the same too.", Sana thanked you, jumping in glee while holding your arm.

"You're welcome. Good luck tomorrow, okay?", you said, patting Sana's head.

"Okayyy!", then Sana turned serious. "But... what about you? Are you ready to do it tomorrow?"

"Yes, for her.", you nodded. "Just wanna try it, though. Even if I knew that she won't probably love me back because all she wants to do was to hurt me. I just want to do this to express this love I feel for her instead.", you smiled at Sana.

"Well then, good luck with you too, lil bro!", Sana said happily. Yes, she calls you lil bro because she treats you like a little brother since you two meet for quiz bee. She's doing this because she doesn't have a sibling so with that, you just let her be instead.

She thanked you once again and what she did next was something you didn't expect.

She kissed you on the cheek, and it felt exactly like what younger siblings feels when their older sibling express their love to them. She hugged you again tightly after.

And that's the time when Jeongyeon saw both of that.

Yes, she misintepreted everything.

Today is Valentines Day. You were assigned by your teacher as one of the performers for your section's program. Yeah, you are great at singing and playing guitar so when they learned about that, they didn't think twice to use your talent for some special reason.

You brought your guitar and at the moment, you are jamming with your classmates, accepting every song request from them.

But then, something caught everyone's attention and even you.

Jeongyeon entered the classroom along with Nayeon and Jihyo who are wearing such dazzling outfits. Your eyes widened at the sight of Jeongyeon whose look is different. You never knew that you actually wanted this to see.

Jeongyeon had a new haircut, turning her long straight black hair to a bobbed cut black short hairstyle.

You gasped at her new look. You felt like your world stopped spinning. You are just too stunned at how GORGEOUS SHE LOOKS IN SHORT HAIR.

Your heartbeat even goes faster when you clearly saw that as Jeongyeon catched you looking at her, she smirked back at you.

Frick, what is this. Did she noticed you enjoying the view? Is she teasing you? But why does it felt so good?

Minutes later, the program started and now it's your turn to perform in front of the class.

You set up your mic and checked it. You placed your guitar around you and then before singing, you said something first in front of your audience aka your classmates.

"So before I start this song... I want to dedicate this to someone I had in mind which I would be willing to be... my valentines partner.", your classmates went 'ooh' as they are interested to find out who is this mystery girl. Yes, your teacher also assigned you to find someone you want to be your valentines partner. Actually, you and Jeongyeon are the only ones left who don't have a partner but they are denying the possibility that you will choose her because oh well... for them, there's no way it'll happen.

Or is it?

"I just want to say that when you found out that this song is for you, uhm I hope you like it because this is one of my way to tell you how I actually feel for you deep inside my heart.", you heaved out a sigh before starting to strum the guitar. Jeongyeon became curious with that, although deep inside she is really hoping that she is that valentines partner you want to have.

You started to sing a song called "Fade Away"  in front of them. While you're singing, Jeongyeon just watched you. As always, she doesn't show how much she's loving this sight of you performing with your beautiful voice. You looked really attractive on her eyes.

She listened carefully to the song, and with every lyrics it felt like she's gonna melt.

Everybody gasped loudly in shock as they heard the namedrop you did while singing the song. Nayeon and Jihyo covered their mouths.  After you did that, you slowly walked towards Jeongyeon still singing and playing your guitar. She is in disbelief because she don't know if this is really happening for real right now.

After you ended the song, you stood in front of this gorgeous girl sitting like a queen you would want to serve with despite how harshly she treats you.

Yes, you also grew feelings for her, since from that time where she helped you learn that lesson in Science that you're having a difficulty to understand.

You never thought that the way you see her interesting about her personality will go onto the next level, to the point where  you end up slowly admiring and adoring her each time passes by.

You smiled at the sight of her who is confused yet at the same time she's blushing so hard at this moment. She is panicking inside, you literally chose her and her wish came true.

"Yeah, it's shocking but... i'm serious.", you chuckled nervously, scratching your nape. Everyone inside the room had a mixed reaction at it. Some were starting to make some teasing noises at you and Jeongyeon while other are whispering at each other, disappointed that you chose her instead of many girls in the campus, she even felt more embarassed but at the same time, oh it feels so good.

"Y-Yoo Jeongyeon, will you be my valentines partner? ", you lend your hand at her. She swear to God, if you don't stop being like this... she could die anytime because of the explosion of her heart.

Your supporters are now chanting "ACCEPT IT!", even Nayeon and Jihyo. Jeongyeon wants to do it though. She was all cornered now, so she guess it's time to finally reveal everything once and for all.

She accepts your hand, nodding shyly at you. You mouthed thank you at her, which she only replied with "idiot" that made you chuckle.

You leaned forward, your head is just right beside her ear. "Let's meet at your rooftop later.", you whispered to her. She felt like her hair all stood up from how hot it is to hear your voice too close to her ears.

She just nodded in response and then you gave her the rose you're keeping from the pocket of your uniform before returning back at the front of the class, with everyone now giving you a teasing look while Nayeon and Jihyo are doing it to Jeongyeon who just gave them an eye roll after.

"S-so, what do you want to talk about... d-dork? ", she said, caressing her arm while giving glances at you as she turns her head away repeatedly.

"About earlier."

"Oh... hehe... w-wait, idiot... you're s-serious? Yeah, wh-what was that?
T-that song... really is for... me?", Jeongyeon shyly asked you.

"Yes.", you confidently answered. "Uhm... I know this may seem weird but... what I did earlier, was my way of showing you how much I love you.", and with your confession, it made her froze in her position. Her mind went all blank. She can't believe she heard you... confess your feelings for her.

She never thought you would reciprocate her feelings back. "Y-you love m-me?"

"Yeah. I really do."

"But... I was like, m-making your day miserable often. I was a bully t-to you. I also speak-", she stopped talking when she felt your hands holding both of hers gently. Her heartbeat went faster with this gesture of yours. Both of you just stared at each other's hands holding together, and it looks like it is a perfect match... just like each other's heart.

"Let me stop you right there. I get it, yes I hate bullies but w-with you, it's different. I look at you differently than them because I know this isn't truly what you really are. You didn't want to be like this in the first place."

" I see someone who is just wearing a mask in front of everybody because she's scared of showing her true self to others. I know there's soft heart in you deep inside that cold blooded self of yours because I saw and felt it all by myself. And, believe me when I say this..."

" I don't mind those unpleasant words you say or call to me. Because, w-when just looking at you,  everything just turns out... well again. It doesn't ruin my day anymore, it makes it even more complete... after I started to have these feelings for you. Since we had times being together alone, that must've been one of the greatest day I have ever experienced in my life."

"It helped me to finally realize everything... and I found out the reason why I am enjoying those moments with you because..."

"I'm with the one I truly love the most than anyone... and that is you, Jeongyeon. the only exception from one of the things I hate the most.", you released it all with your heart, and Jeongyeon took every single words you said. She thinks she needs more oxygen right now because anytime she feels like she's gonna collapsed from how you just take her breath away slowly.

"I- I can't believe t-this is happening.", she chuckled. " E-Everyone except N-Nayeon and J-Jihyo... you're the only o-one who can see t-things clearly through me... Y-Y/N... you don't know how s-special i-it was for me.", and there she starts to show her feelings for you too.

You lowered your head a bit to avoid your frown getting seen by Jeongyeon.
"I don't expect you to love me, Jeong because I know I'm out of your league. So yeah... I just want to let you know that -", she interrupted you when she takes out her hand off you just to raise your head to make you look at her.

"Shut up, pabo. You don't get it, do you? I-I also... l-love you.", she said with a shaky voice. "You're the only one who can make my heart warm with everything you do and with how you look so cute, handsome and attractive in my eyes. You're the only the one who could stand me despite how I always ravage your beautiful day. I just can't seem t-to find a rea-reason why I can't keep my distance away from you... because I realized that I always w-want you to be on my side.", you smiled widely when Jeongyeon also shared everything about her feelings for you.

"I can't believe we just confessed to each other.", and both of you laughed.

"Yeah, me too.", you nodded. "So uhm... you look, god you look so beautiful with a short hair.", you caressed Jeongyeon's hair on the side with your fingers serving as a comb. She blushed at what you're doing and also with your compliment that she always likes about you.

Then suddenly, you received a punch straight in your left arm. "AWWWW! What was that for?", you confusedly asked her. The impact of her punch stings, god you don't really want to mess with this girl especially now you two are something more now.

"That's for making me shy earlier in front of everyone! I'm n-not prepared okay?", she crossed her arm, looking away from you. " And yes, I changed my hair because of you! D-do you know how jealous I am seeing you being kissed by Sana?", she pouted after. Oh my god, that was the first time you saw do that. Now you were wondering, what's more you will see new from Jeongyeon that anyone never seen of?

It feels like you have a VIP pass just for her.

"W-wait, you thought that we really liked each other at that time? Awww don't be jealous now, my tsundere. I'm all yours.", she felt your body around her because yeah, you hugged her. Her face went all red because of that.

"Y-you b-better be."

"Grrr you're so cute.", you grunted, pinching her cheek.

"E-eh? Stop it, stupid!", she playfully forced herself to get out of your embrace then she softly rubbed the cheek where you pinched her. Not wanting to let go, you did a shocking move to her that she will always want to receive it from you starting today.

You kissed her on the cheek, right on the area where you pinched her.

"I'm sorry, okay?", you hummed. After that, she did something even more shocking than what you just did on her.

Yeah she kissed you back, but she did it straight ahead on your lips.

The sparks all popped up inside of you with that contact from the one you truly love the most.

"Apology accepted.", Jeongyeon smirked at you. You did the same and then you pulled her hand to return back inside the school to join Nayeon and Jihyo to have fun on Valentines Day with your valentine partner, your bully/girlfriend and your only exception.
