"Doughnut" - PART 1 | TWICE x Male Reader

It's a snowy nighttime. Under the dark sky with stars sparkling covering it is a street where many people are gathering around along with police cars and ambulance cars parked outside of a doughnut shop.

The policemen are trying to guard these civilians who are curiously watching what's happening from entering the crime scene.

Inside the shop has some evidences which has been marked, but there is one which if you look at it, you will think that is the most important one out of all the evidences that has been found by the policemen and detectives.

A bitten white doughnut with red syrup flowing from its inside is seen laying on a floor with police barrier tapes around its space.

From the dark corner of the shop, a woman slowly appears near to the bitten doughnut.

She sat and looked closely at the bitten doughnut.

A frowning expression in her face can be seen as she remembers everything what happened before this unexpected tragic moment....

DECEMBER 2021

"Mmhmm, I'll give the payment tomorrow if that's then.", you hummed, responding to the caller behind the phone you are having a conversation to.

"Sure. I'll just gonna prepare your order when I came home tomorrow.", the girly voice said.

"Got it.", you said in a sing-song tone. "God, I can't wait for those strawberries, Chae. I've been craving so bad.", you said while having the only picture of a strawberry inside your mind.

"Hahaha, keep yourself still, Y/N. It will all end tomorrow.", the caller which is your friend, Chae or in her full name Son Chaeyoung; just laughed back at you. She finds it hilarious and a bit adorable to hear you like this.

"Yeah.", you huffed calmly. "I gotta go now, I'm about to do something here. Bye, lil cub!", you bid goodbye to your friend.

"Bye!", Chaeyoung greeted back and she finally dropped the call, ending it. You turned off your cellphone and placed it back at your pocket.

The oven made a "ding" sound, so you open it and released the fully baked doughnuts laying in a metal tray. You placed it at the rack where you or your employees will reach at it once the displayed ones in the glass shelf at the cashier is now empty.

You walked outside the kitchen, stepping at the cashier to find your employee Hyunjin, preparing some order at the counter.

"I'll take it here. You go switch with me at the kitchen.", you said after you walked near at him while he's placing some doughnuts at the tray after reaching for a sheet of tissue paper.

"Sure boss!", Hyunjin said and left his work at the counter for you to continue it.

"So the order is one chocolate doughnut and one pink sprinkled doughnut, huh?"

"Yup.", you nodded and Hyunjin leaves you alone as he walks back at the kitchen.

You picked up the tray with two doughnuts to serve it at the customer who ordered this. So you turned around to the front to gave it.

"Alright. Here's your order m-", before you finish your words, you halted and remained frozen for a second. You are shocked at stunned to see who is the customer you were about to serve to.

It was a brown long haired woman who is cheekily smiling at the displayed doughnuts she's looking closely at. After she sensed that her order is now up through her peripheral vision, she stood straight again and reached for the tray you are holding at.

You just watched her slowly raise her head to look at you while lending her the tray. And when both of each other's eyes met, she felt the same as what you are having right now after you saw her.

But the most visible one on hers is sadness.

"Y-Y/N?", she said, stuttering while she still keeps her stare at you.

"N-Nayeon?", you spoke her name too, stuttered the same as her.

You two are now are now facing at each other in a table. She is sitting in front of you as the tray is in front of her. You are just watching her eating the doughnut you made.

It's good to see her again, even after what happened to you two before.

Nayeon is your one of your ex-girlfriend. She was your third before your current one which name is Shin Ryujin. You two broke up because of some misunderstanding about a misleading information or scenario that made her look at you like you are cheating at her.

"I really decided to come here actually.", she said after taking a bit at the pink doughnut. "I missed your doughnuts so much and god it still didn't changed. Still delicious.", you are just listening her while you can't believe that she's talking comfortably to you after what you did to her.

"Didn't expect that you'll be here.", she want some normal talk? Fine, you'll give it to her then. "It's been like... almost a year since we br- I mean, we saw each other.", thankfully you paused at saying that word because you don't want her to remind it again which might change her again for you to witness what impact you gave to her after what you did.

"Yeah it is. I got busy at some things, that's why I don't have time meeting people I know these days.", she said, still not looking at you because she's focused at eating.

"How are you doing, by the way?", you said, placing both of your elbows at the table with hands clasping at each other.

"I'm fine. I'm preparing for the promotions of my debut which is coming next week. I just got a free time today after a long time of craving since... I found myself needing a rest you know?", she said. It's glad to hear it from her. You know also the struggle she had because she really wanted to become an idol in an entertainment agency.. You were the one who is cheering and supporting her up at those times.

"Oh, wow. That's great. Congratulations!", you are so proud of her. That's what one of the things you wanted for her to happen in her life.
"You are now achieved your dreams of becoming an idol, I see."

"Thanks. I'm so grateful that destiny gave me this opportunity to finally fulfill my goals.", she said while smiling. "How about you?"

"I'm okay too. Shop's running pretty well... like I how want it to be.", you shurgged, wandering your eyes around the shop.

You two went on an awkward silence. All you can hear was the little sounds being made by the customers on their tables and Nayeon humming in satisfaction on how delicious the doughnut tastes after taking a bite on it.

You don't know that deep inside she is actually getting nervous but she doesn't want to show it to you. She wants to do it already but... she is scared at the same time.

You decided to broke the silence to avoid each other being suffocated at this atmosphere. And the next topic you gave made her finally had the courage to do it for you.

"Nay."

"Hmm?"

"I'm sorry. For what I did to you before.", she stopped eating, keeping her grip at the doughnut still. You are looking deeply at her as you apologized, making your guilt can be seen in your eyes.

"I want to take this opportunity to say what I wanted to say since that day we broke up. I didn't became the boyfriend you always wanted me to be. I'm sorry if I disappointed you... especially by breaking your trust.", you said with sadness clearly being heared from the tone of your voice.

She raised her head to look at you. Now you can see again the features of your face that has been the cause of you being in love with her before and the very first thing she brags a lot to everyone. Yes, she is pretty and perfect as she says... and you are the one of the few who just let her be like that because... uhh that's the truth, right?

"Y/N, past is past. I already forgive you. I understand you now. It's my fault anyways. I should've listened to your side and gave myself to process everything that I just witnessed.

But... I chose to be stubborn and selfish and chose to look myself only, believing that I am right. So, I'm sorry too.",

"And no, Y/N. Believe me or not, you didn't broke my trust. I may have broke up with you but I swear, the pain is still here in my heart for letting you go. I made a bad decision because I didn't think properly first.", she said, while trying her best not to tear up in front of you. You can exactly tell that the regret she feels is genuine.

That made you feel good. That's what you always wanted her to realize. You were just a victim here who can't do anything to stop that moment because it was just that fast and unexpected and hell, it even happened at the worst timing.

Even though you wanted to go back with her back again, those feelings are all gone already because you already have someone to share your love.

"Even me, Nayeon. I don't want us to end anything that happened to us but... I kinda deserve it anyways. I should've been more careful and aware.", you sighed, bowing your head a bit to avoid her gaze because you don't want to increase the pain you feel in your heart.
"I waited for us to have a closure again. So, can we start again? As.. friends?"

"Sure.", she said. Even though she really wanted for the two of you to be more than friends already because little did you know that she's still into you. She tried to move on but after all those attempts, the feeling of regret and longing for letting you go doesn't go away in her. Then she realized that even if she do anything, her heart will always shout your name.

"It's so great to see you again, Nayeon. Thank you too for this new start for us.", you said to Nayeon, placing your one hand at the other pocket which is empty.

And I hope it would lead us into something again. Nayeon said to herself. This is a chance right here, and she's motivated already to do what she needs to do.

She's gonna make you hers again.

"You're welcome, too. Y/N. Thanks for the time too.", she said and she starts to walk away from the shop and to you, slowly disappearing from your sight. Before she did that, the two of you exchanged a hand wave while smiling simply.

Don't leave him this time, Nay. Don't let him go. Nayeon said to herself, sighing heavily while placing her hand on her chest, remembering the best part of her day today where she saw your face she's been wanting to see again.

It's 11PM and since it is the closing time of your shop, you let your employees go home already to have some time to rest. As always, with you being a nice boss to them... you thanked them for their service today. After double checking the entire shop, you turned off the lights, flipped the flashcard from OPEN to CLOSED then you locked the door from the inside before closing it.

You entered your car and chatted your girlfriend, checking on her and then asked for a date before you started driving away to reach your house too to have some sleep. You are tired already and you needed some energy to refill again for tomorrow.

You are now at the street of the neighborhood where your house is located. As you keep driving, you immediately made the car move slowly when you noticed something near from your sight, getting your attention completely.

"What the hell? W-who are they?", you asked to yourself as you noticed that there was these dudes wearing something like a tracksuit surrounding a woman who seems to look terrified. She may not be shouting or speaking but you can already tell in her face that she's pleading for help.

"Is that Mina? Oh no.", you recognized who they are blocking at. It is Myoui Mina, your Japanese friend and your former classmate who is now also your neighbor.

Being the protective friend to her like you always be, you stopped your car and stepped outside the car.

"Cmon, miss. It'll be just one time.", the first dude said, spreading his arms.

"Yeah, but we'll make sure it'll be worth it.", the second dude said, agreeing what his friend just say to Mina.

"And you can meet us again if you want another one.", the third dude said, winking at your precious friend. You couldn't take it anymore at how disgusting they sound and look so you silently approached them.

"But i'm sure you'll never get a chance again when I give you this.", you said at the second dude, giving him a heavy punch at the side of his face. He took a stepped backward. His friends accompanied him not to collapse on the floor and then checked him after.

"Did you just fucking punched me, you douchebag?", the second dude angrily said to you. he is still pressing the corner of his lips with his fingers.

"Yeah, want another one? What are you gonna do about it?", you said bluntly. They all charged at you but you just took them all down one by one because they kinda suck at hand to hand combat and they don't match your skills.

"If you three ever return here and do something again to Mina one more time, I swear to God I will fucking break your arm off. Leave.", you warned them, giving them a death glare while pointing your index finger at the first dude.

All of them starts running away from them. You didn't cared about them so you switched your attention fast to Mina who is shivering a bit from what she just experienced.

"Y/N!"

"Did they touched you, Mina?", you rushed asking her because you were too concerned at her. You held both of her arms as you looked at her.

"N-no. But I know they were about to.", Mina said, not looking at you as she lowered her head.

You sighed in relief. "Why are you even here outside at this time?", you raised your voice a bit because why is she even here at this time. The streets are dangerous at these hours.

" I was about to walk through the convenience store to buy some snacks because I'm about to watch a movie but suddenly these guys just showed up right after I was about to walk away.", Mina explained to you.

"You should've bought earlier.", you said in a low tone, a bit disappointed at her but you just disregard it because you don't want to get angry at her. It's normal for her to make mistakes though.

"You should be just staying inside still. At this time, the roads are dangerous. You can get harmed, like what happened to you earlier.", you worriedly said to her, you leaned your face closer to to her to make her listen closely at what you say.

"S-sorry, Y/N.", she said, stuttering in embarassment because of her mistake on her part. She was about to cry when you stopped her already because you don't want to see her crying.

"Don't cry please.", you hugged her as a comfort. She placed her head at your shoulder as she sniffs, smelling the fragrant smell of the fabric of your shirt. Now she felt even calmer and safe at your embrace. The fear she got earlier vanished away easily. "Hey, how about I join you to go there. It's not safe, you'll need someone that will lure the danger away from you.". She just nodded as a yes in response. She didn't insist anymore because she knows you that you will force her until she retreats.

But she ain't complaining if that happens, because she wanted and needed this anyways; especially from you... because you're the one she's having a crush with secretly.

You and Mina met when you moved to your own house. Being the friendly neighbor like she is, she's the one who first greeted you in the neighborhood.

There, your friendly bond with her eventually started until she started to develop secret admiration towards you to the point that she started to have a crush on you. Sadly, she knows that you have a girlfriend already; but she can't stop resisting to move on because she can't find anybody else who matches how she sees through you that made her fall in love to you in the first place.

20 minutes later after you two went to buy some snacks, you two went back at the front of her house. You escorted her out of the car then you followed her after because you'll about to do something.

"By the way, here take my doughnut. I'm already full so... you have this. Maybe it will help you feel better and you can add it too on your snacks.", you lend her the extra pink doughnut wrapped in plastic which you have one.

"T-thanks, Y/N.", she smiled as she really felt grateful at your presence tonight especially when she needed someone to help her, you were there on the rescue for her.

"No problem. Hey, I gotta go home now to rest. Good night, Mina!", you patted her shoulder, walking back at your car. She waved back at you, giving you that gummy smile you always wanted to see on her. Hell, you're even proud to have someone as her being close to you.

You drove straight ahead to your garage and finally entered your house. Mina is still standing in front of her door then she took a glance at the doughnut you gave to her.

The next day, you arrived at the shop but before entering, you stopped for a while to check something on your phone.

"Still no seen for her. Maybe she's busy or whatsoever.", you said, turning off your cellphone after seeing the call box of you and Ryujin still left unresponded by her. It's been days since she's like this but you just neverminded it because she is still studying and she's preparing for her graduation in college so you just understood her.

Meanwhile, a blonde short- haired girl is seen roaming her eyes back and forth as if she's looking for someone which she really is, and that someone is YOU.

Taking a last sip of her coffee, she placed the emptied mug on the table and took a last bite also of a pink doughnut. Now she continued waiting for you. She placed her chin on her palm as a support. With someone mopping on the floor, she raised her feet a bit to give the staff a way to clean the floor underneath her.

"Where is he? Is he will not come here today?", she asked herself, looking at the customers before switching to the television where a show is being presented.

"Jeongyeon? ", you said, peeking a bit at her side profile as you appeared near her. You made her flinch a beat in shock. Even her heart stopped for a second but it returned to beat faster, not because she didn't expected that... it' s because of you showing up finally in front of her eyes.

"O-oh, Y/N! You're here.", she said, looking at you from head to toe. She really admires your look. "What t-took you so long?"

"You were waiting for me?", you asked curiously. It really made her show that she wants to meet you urgently for some important reasons.

"N-no, it's just t-that I find it weird seeing you not here already.", she knew it was a lie. Every time she goes in here, all she ever wanted first is to see you.

"Welp, traffic problems.", you said. You even wiped the handkerchief on your forehead to remove a bead of sweat.

"Anyways, I gotta go now. I have work today.", she slowly stood up, showing her perfect tall body at you. She's now energized to go into work today because you are her battery for her to gain some.

"Sure, good morning by the way!", you stepped beside to give her the way to exit the shop.

" Good morning too, Y/N. ", a bright smile appeared on her lips. She opened the door and finally left your doughnut shop.

Yoo Jeongyeon is one of your friends. The two of you met when her company ordered some of your pastries at your shop for their event. Your cousin Kang Seulgi is working there at the same workplace as hers and since they are the one assigned to guide you and your men to pick up the doughnuts at your shop, they came to your place and asked for their order. While having a conversation with your cousin, that was the time where Jeongyeon and you had a chance to get to know each other.

Just right from the start where she first saw you, she can't stop thinking about you. She finds you attractive, handsome... just a typical ideal man of hers. So she slowly developed her feelings to you until she finally assured to herself that she has a crush on you.

The sad thing is that, she knows already that you have a girlfriend, through what your cousin Seulgi shared to her. Ofcourse, that broke her heart, knowing that she won't have a chance for you because you're already in love with someone.

But she still didn't let her feelings go away because you is just different from her. You just make her fall in love with you even more, despite of the pain from the reality. She wanted to be mad at herself but she can't also. Now up to this day, you still occupy her mind.

"What happened? Is there a problem?", you asked her after you noticed that something is wrong based from your sight at her through the shop inside. You even saw her slapped the car.

"Yeah... my car isn't starting.", she looked at her car. |

"You don't have any more fuel?", you took a look at the inside of the car, mostly focusing at the driver's area.

"Yeah.", she sighed heavily. she took a glance at her watch to know what time it is. " Oh no, I'll be late at work."

"No worries, go inside my car. I'll take you there.", you walked through you car which made Jeongyeon slowly opened her eyes wide at you and worriedly followed you from behind.

"B-but Y/N? Aren't you busy?", she asked you. You entered your car and then you started the engine.

"Busy? Nah. Don't mind me", you waved it off in front of her. " I have my employees here who can manage the shop well. Also, I had to go somewhere too after.", you smiled, wanting to tell her it's alright.

"Oh, okay sure. Who am I to reject the offer, right?", she chuckled which made you do the same. You signalled her to enter the car too which she did. Now she's seating behind you at the passenger's seat.

You are now driving as both of you are now on the way to Jeongyeon's workplace. While driving, you glanced at the cellphone where it shows the chat box of you and and Ryujin, containing all messages coming from you which is left unseen still.

You messaged her again, but this time it is not about the date. You checked on her if she's fine. Just typical concerned boyfriend, you know.

"I'm getting a little bit worried now...", you said, returning your gaze back at the road to avoid yourselves getting into an accident. You just clicked your tongue and ruffled your hair a bit. Jeongyeon, who is looking at you from the rear-view mirror, noticed the look of concern on your face.

"Is there something wrong Y/N?", she asked you.

"No, n-nothing. It's just that, i'm getting nervous.", you gripped the steering wheel hard tighter.

"Cmon, Y/N. Tell me. Why? What makes you feel like that?", Jeongyeon asked, hoping that she sounded like she's not forcing you or something.

You gulped before speaking again. "It's my girlfriend. She hasn't replied to me since yesterday.", you glanced at Jeongyeon through the rear-view mirror. You took a turn, spinning the steering wheel from the left.

Oh she knew it. Jeongyeon's frown goes deeper as she remembers that yeah you already have a girlfriend. It makes her sad knowing that like at this moment, she is thinking about you but yours on the other hand... is on another woman.

She sighed, feeling down but ofcourse she don't want to show it to you. She don't want her to add on your concerns. You need to focus on your girlfriend rather than her. Ryujin is more important for you, she thought.

"I-It's okay, Y/N.", Jeongyeon said in a comforting tone but deep inside her heart is aching. "Maybe she's doing something important that's why. And it's just n-normal to feel that way. You're just being a caring boyfriend.".

"Thanks, Jeong.", you said, releasing a puff of air. "She will do just fine. I just need to have trust on her. If she will need help, well I'm always here for her.", you said with a small smile. Jeongyeon did the same but that was forced. She's hurting deep inside.

Oh how she could wish she's yours.

You two finally arrived at her workplace. You stopped your car in front of a large, tall building with many people wearing a formal attire can be seen entering and exiting the place.

Jeongyeon opened the door, stepping oitside the car while you remained inside. You peeked at the window to look at her.

"This is my stop now.", Jeongyeon turned her head at you. You ain't gonna lie. Everything she wears suits on her because she holds this kind of power where she can look perfect at any outfit.

Hell, even if she wears garbage bag... she can turn the garbage bag into an iconic new fashion style clothing.

Well what do you expect to your friend who is also a model?

"Okay. Have a nice day, Jeong.", you said, giving her a smile.

"You too, Y/N. Be fine for me, okay?"

"I will.", you assured her. You need to follow what your friend wants to you because she's just worried at you like as you are to your girlfriend. Being a concerned friend, she just want you to be okay so you'll give it to her.

As you drove away, Jeongyeon who has a smile on her face... slowly disappears as she lowered her head, feeling sad after she faced the harsh reality once again that she will never gonna have a chance at you.

After dropping Jeongyeon at her workplace, you arrived next at a house with a large strawberry farm around it.
You parked you car at the front and you walked at the front of the door, knocking on it to alert someone you're looking for that you're already here.

"Yo Y/N! Morning!", a small black long-haired woman appeared on your sight after opening the door. "

"Hey Chae! Morning too.", you gave a fistbump to your friend Chaeyoung and ended it with a shoulder bump which both of you chuckled.

"Tada, your long awaited strawberries has finally arrived.", she revealed the thing she's been hiding at her back, which is a plastic container with 24 strawberries in it. You were about to drool so hard after looking at these.

"Dang these looks fresh God, I'm pretty sure I'll order one again.", you said as you looked around the strawberries inside. You even felt that the container is cold.

"Sure you will.", she confidently said. That's 100% sure though because you just love her strawberries that's why and to buy these, ofcourse you'll go to the one who sells this product which you know and trusted the most... and that is your friend right here. "And also... I'll appreciate that... especially that it's coming f-for you.", she stuttered, looking at your amazed face at the strawberries which made you look adorable in her eyes.

Oh, I didn't mentioned it, huh? Well, here you go.

Chaeyoung secretly has feelings for you. She doesn't know why actually how it started. It's like a spark just appeared out of nowhere inside her, which made her so interested at you. She knows that you treat each other as brother and sister but... sometimes she's wondering if that could turn into something more.

But ofcourse, it will not gonna happen as she knows too that you have a girlfriend already. Yes, it hurts her but she just need to hide it then because she's afraid that when you found out... your friendship might turn into something awkward and not the way you two wanted to be like before.

And even though she already accepts the saddening fact, she still can't get herself out of you. She has no idea why she still has a crush on you despite the fact that she's liking someone like you that will not reciprocate his feelings back at her.

"You sure'll be. Thank you for this Chae!", you said, waving the container in front of Chaeyoung which made her smile.

"Welcome! Oh by the way I have some news for you.", she said, changing the topic.

"Heh? What is it?", you leaned your shoulder at the wall.

"I joined an art competition at a museum!", she joyfully announced to you. "You know, I wanted it because I wanna share to others my artworks.", she shrugged.

"Really?", you surprisingly said which she nodded in response. "Hey congrats! And goodluck too!", you tapped her shoulder and showed a thumbs up on her.

"Yeah, and I'm sure they will be in awe once they see yours. Good thing you decided to join something that will highlight your skill.", you said it proudly, crossing your arms. With those words, deep inside Chaeyoung's heart is dancing in glee.

"Just wanna try it though.", she said. "In fact, whoever wins it will have a cash prize plus a chance to get displayed at the museum.", she even did a cash gesture and then moved her hands upwards from left to right, making you imagine to look at something that is being presented.

Your lips formed an "o' shape. "When is it?"

"This Thursday"

"I'll be there."

Chaeyoung's eyes widened and her jaw slightly dropped, staring at you unbelievably. "W-what? Are you serious?"

"Yeah I am, I just want to be the supportive friend of yours like I always be since we're in high school. In fact, you'll need someone to get you motivated. ", she winced at the word friend but she discarded it. She appreciates your support to her but she really wanted you not to see her painting that she will use to compete with other works.

Since she doesn't even want to reject you because what you wanted to do for her is to make her feel more positive and confident to everyone that she really did a great job at her artwork, she just accepted your request then.

"Thank you, Y/N! I'll do my best for you!", she said. Her body immediately moved on its own as she crashed hers at your body, giving you a thankful hug.
She can imagine it on Thursday that it will be so embarassing because you will not gonna believe what you're going to see... and you're gonna feel it the same too at the one who did it which is her.

"I know but, you don't have to. Even you didn't try you won't disappoint me.", you patted her back, her heart fluttered at your words. God, she will feel so lucky to have you as her boyfriend. "You're welcome, Chae."

She removed her body to you as you removed your arms around her too, giving a small gap between each other.
"I gotta go back at the shop now."

"Thanks, Y/N! See ya!"

"You too! Thanks again for the strawberries.", you waved the container at her again, making her smile in pleasure, her mole moved upward too with the curve at the ends of her lips.

After you drove away, Chaeyoung closed the door and leaned at it, breathing heavily. Ooh, what a great day once again for her to see you.

"Welp, my secret is about to be revealed soon.", she said while imagining herself presenting the artwork she did which shows a painting of your face with a mix of colorful and aesthetic vibe.

"Oh god, Oh god, The long wait is worth it.", you said after taking a bite at the strawberry. You closed the door of your car and walked towards to your shop.

Meanwhile, from inside... two persons are talking at each other at the cashier. A man and a woman. They seemed to be really close at each other.

"He's not here, sis. He went away for something.", your manager Bang Chan said to the woman in front of him which is actually his older sister.

"Oh, that's why? O-", she was about to finish her words when Bang Chan interrupted her immediately after he saw you entering the shop while holding the strawberries you bought from Chaeyoung.

"Okay bye sis but I gotta go guide my fellow peeps here.", his glance switched back to her beautiful sister in a snap. What he did is actually a tease to her sister because yeah... he knew something from her something when it comes to you.

You slowly stepped forward as you recognized already who is your manager talking to. Just by looking at her gray- ash colorered long hair from her back and seeing her with Bang Chan
you already know who this is.

"Sana."

You called her name, which made her turn her head to face the owner of the voice she always loved to hear.
