It’s Monday morning. You slept absolutely terrible. It’s a stretch to say you even got any sleep.
Yesterday still feels like a dream while you keep questioning if it was even real.
You lay on your back with your eyes glued to the ceiling. The nervousness and adrenaline is still pumping throughout your body.
Your math class started in an hour and a half. This meant you had that much time to get ready to face Minju again.
You moan and groan while tossing and turning in your bed, getting all caught up in your comforter.
You find your phone and your speaker to get you up and going. You play some music that matches the weather outside, and today the weather was warm with a breeze.
It takes you about 20 minutes to clean up and pick out an outfit. Your choice for today was a white long sleeve shirt under a black short sleeve button up, along with some semi baggy blue jeans.
You had a couple pimples forming on your face, so you decided to stick a few pimple patches to cover them up. You always tend to feel insecure when you break out like this.
You look at yourself in your standing mirror and let out a heavy sigh that you hope will calm you down a bit.
It doesn’t.
“It’s school. Nothing can happen at school.” Reassuring yourself with your eyes closed.
You groan again as you whip your head back and cover your face with both of your hands.
After enough self motivation, you make your way downstairs. Mom is still away, so it’s just you.
You slide your shoes on before heading out the door.
The air felt refreshing, and even though the weather was quite warm, your outfit made you almost the perfect temperature.
You turn to lock the front door, and as you turn around to face the street, your temperature isn’t so perfect anymore.
What are the odds that you step out at the same time as your next door neighbor?
She has her back facing you, as you look around frantically. You're as stiff as a board standing on your porch.
Trying to act casual, you put your head down as you walk down your few porch steps and walk across your lawn.
By the time you look up again, Minju is already walking towards you with that smile she keeps giving you as a greeting.
She shakes her head to fix up her hair with her fingers while blinking at you.
“Good morning.” She sounds tired, but also relieved to be running into you before school. You’ve met her at the edge of your lawn once again.
Minju did her makeup pretty basic today, but you didn’t view it that way. Her eyeliner was faint, some light blush on her cheeks, and she had put on lip gloss to make her plump lips stand out even more.
Your eyes are magnetized to her lips before you snap out of it.
“Hey, good morning.” You say with a welcoming smile while trying not to have a shaky voice. You notice something different about her this time.
