The next day, Yizhuo had only one goal in mind. To get the truth out from Minjeong and Jimin! Are these two in a relationship? Is this why Jimin seemed to send her murderous glares every time she was hanging with Minjeong?
Yizhuo smirked at the thought. She had stumbled into quite the interesting drama.
Their little group was in the middle of a card game, during lunch break. And since Minjeong wasn’t really interacting with them, as usual, the chinese girl saw this as the perfect opportunity to borrow her for a bit.
And that’s how she found herself sitting down on a bench in a courtyard, with a confused Minjeong right next to her. Well… when does Minjeong not look confused?
“What’s going on?” curiously asked Minjeong, the usual bored look in her eyes present like always.
“Tell me Jeongie…” started Yizhuo, who physically could not fight a grin from forming on her mouth. “Are you dating Jimin?”
Next to her, she felt Minjeong slightly jumping in her seat. It was obvious from her distraught look that Yizhuo had struck the right chord. “W-Why?”
Yizhuo did not plan to beat around the bush though. She had a clear goal here after all! “Well… yesterday I forgot something in the classroom. And I happened to see you two there.”
Minjeong’s eyes widened, and sheer panic could be seen on her face. But it wasn’t Yizhuo’s intention to scare her at all though. She quickly put her hands on top of Minjeong’s, reassuring her. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell a soul!”
“We’re… not dating you know…”
Yizhuo dramatically gasped. “But you were kissing so intensely though!” Minjeong looked away, embarrassed.
“Why can’t you guys date? It’s not that weird nowadays you know!” A sudden thought flickered in Yizhuo’s mind. “Wait! Are you guys friends with ben-” Minjeong swiftly put her hand on Yizhuo’s mouth, successfully shutting her up.
“Of course not…” The blonde then sighed, something uncharacteristic of her. “There are reasons as to why we’re doing… this. But I can’t tell you, sorry.”
Yizhuo didn’t look too surprised. And honestly, she didn’t plan on invading their privacy, so she didn’t question it any further. She’s just a curious bystander in this story after all.
“All reasons aside… you like Jimin, don’t you Minjeong?”
Minjeong looked at her, surprise clear in her eyes, before quickly lowering her head, pink widely spreading on her cheeks. “Yes…” she muttered.
Yizhuo almost squealed at the sight. Because what the hell is this adorable creature?!
“How did you realize it?!” she excitedly asked, thrilled for some juicy gossip.
Minjeong seemed to contemplate telling her, and rapidly heaved out a sigh when she realized Yizhuo had no intention of moving before hearing the full story from her. So Minjeong took a deep breath, before starting.
“This might be a bit dumb but… back in middle school, everything was dull for me. I had no friends nor no real interest in school and activities. So I kind of just went to class, paid no intention to it, and walked back home indifferently. I didn’t feel like I belonged anywhere honestly…”
Minjeong began to nervously fiddle with her fingers, feeling small under Yizhuo’s gaze. It was the first time she was really talking about it with someone else. “But one day, everything changed…”
Yizhuo cocked her eyebrow. “Jimin?”
“Yup,” replied Minjong, popping the ‘p’. “That day, I tried to get some coffee milk from the vending machine, but got strawberry milk instead. And Jimin came to me, telling me that the cans of milk had been swapped in the machine, and that she got coffee milk instead of strawberry. It felt so… weird and new to see such a popular girl suddenly come to me and chat with me. For once, I felt like I wasn’t invisible to someone.”
Minjeong couldn’t help a small smile from escaping from her mouth at the thought. “So we swapped and… when she smiled at me with so much joy… I felt my heart violently bump in my chest. Our exchange had been so mundane, and I’m pretty sure that she remembers nothing about it. But that day, talking with her had been enough to put some color in my faded world.”
Yizhuo hummed as she fiddled with her imaginary beard, her eyes twinkling. “So… it was love at first sight?”
