The following day, Jimin arrived at school, feeling completely exhausted. Who could really blame her though? Her secret had just been discovered, and now she was at some puppy-looking brat’s mercy!
She let out a long sigh, before stepping inside of her classroom. And to her utmost surprise, Minjeong was there, sitting down on her seat at the very last row, pensively gazing through the window.
Their gazes met for a second, before Minjeong mindlessly turned back to look through the window again, her lips curled into a small smirk. And honestly, Jimin doesn’t understand how this girl could possibly be so calm after everything that happened. Like sure, they haven’t done anything per se, but it was the closest Jimin had ever been to kiss someone before! And she has the audacity to smirk about it as well?
Honestly, Jimin felt totally self-conscious about what happened the day before, while Minjeong looked completely… unfazed. What a brat!
“Heya Jimin!”
Jimin turned her head, and noticed one of her classmates cheerfully waving at her. Jimin knows that her name is Shin Ryujin, and that she’s part of the soccer team.
“I can’t believe you managed to do it!”
Jimin tilted her head to the side, curious. “Did… what?”
“I’m talking about Kim Minjeong! Since you’re the class prez, you made her come to school, right?”
Well, bullseye. But little does this girl know why and how exactly Jimin got Minjeong to come to school. And honestly, she really doesn’t need to know.
“Hmm, she’s pretty cute, isn’t she?” added a pink haired girl with a small grin. Uchinaga Aeri, one of the first friends Jimin made when she enrolled in this highschool.
“Should we talk to her?” asked another student, who Jimin knows as Jeon Somi, the girl Aeri always is with.
Aeri smirked. “She seems like the nonchalant, chic type, doesn’t she?”
Somi excitedly nodded. “Mhm! We should definitely try to get closer to her!”
Jimin let out a small sigh, her gaze absentmindedly falling on Minjeong’s side. Honestly, she knows that Minjeong was in the same middle school as her, but that’s basically it. Aside from that, she knows close to nothing about the blonde. But if she can get closer to her, then maybe she can get some dirt on her… and then she would be freed from this weird deal they’ve made!
The classroom’s door opened, revealing the teacher’s figure. Ever so the model student, Jimin fixed her posture, her gaze fixed on the blackboard in front of her. Minjeong has been invading her head too much lately. She can’t afford to be distracted from classes this much.
Focus, Yu Jimin!

Her class’ next period was sports, something that Jimin particularly likes. It always feels good to move her body a little, and apparently, judging from Ryujin’s obvious excitement, soccer was on the menu today. And Jimin loves soccer!
She settled with her friend group, and started to kick the ball back and forth with Ryujin. As a warm up, the whole class was taking turns in shooting penalties. And sadly, Jimin was stuck waiting for the moment.
However, her attention soon got snatched by a now familiar blonde head, who was approaching the ball.
Minjeong adjusted her position, before lifting her leg back. Jimin doesn’t know if Minjeong even plays sports, but her form itself truly looked beautiful, as if she had years of experience under her belt. She couldn’t help but to hold her breath as she saw Minjeong’s leg dangerously get closer to the ball.
However, Minjeong… completely missed the ball, and ended up falling face first on the floor, disoriented by her movements.
“Kim, are you okay?!” one of her classmates said. Minjeong was still on the floor, her face firmly planted against the grass. Said classmate turned towards Jimin, her tone rushed. “Class prez! You need to bring her to the nurse’s office!”
“C-coming!” stuttered the raven, who basically lifted Minjeong all by herself in her arms, ready to carry her to the nurse’s office as soon as possible. Being tall and having pretty broad shoulders has its perks sometimes!
When they arrived there, the nurse, Ms Minatozaki, quickly took care of the dizzy blonde, giving her a pack of ice cubes and making her lay down on one of the beds there. She checked on Minjeong’s state, and when she saw that she was beginning to respond to her questions a bit more clearly, she left the room, leaving the two girls alone.
“I suck at sports,” stated Minjeong, as if Jimin hadn’t just witnessed one of the most incredulous moments of her life. However, Minjeong’s monotonous voice in such a context made her giggle a bit.
“I can see that… Does it still hurt?”
“Just a little. But nothing I can’t handle.”
Jimin softly nodded, taking this as her cue to go back to class. “That’s good. Come back whenever you’re feeling better, okay?” she said, beginning to stand up.
But Minjeong suddenly grabbed her wrist, forcefully making her sit down right next to her on the bed. Taken by surprise, Jimin turned towards the blonde, her face completely red already, and ready to give her a piece of her mind.
“Can I… make a request?”
Jimin’s heart jumped in her chest. Was she asking for another weird request like last time? Would she actually try to kiss her this time?
“Can you walk home with me today?”
Jimin blinked in disbelief, her blush slowly disappearing, replaced by a shocked expression. “That’s… it?”
Minjeong looked at her like a confused puppy. “Were you expecting something…”
“No!” almost shouted Jimin, abruptly standing up, purposely ignoring the ghost of a smirk forming on Minjeong’s lips. “See you later!” And with that, the raven walked away, desperately trying to calm her erratic heart.
This brat really would be the end of her!

Jimin ended up walking Minjeong home. Like, literally walking home. Ever since they had left school, the girl hadn’t uttered a singular word!
This was getting way too awkward for Jimin’s liking. Like come on now, she’s the one who’s usually an awkward and anxiety-filled mess! But she felt like she had to take matters into her own hands. She needs to save them from this weird situation!
“Do you want to stop by anywhere?”
“I want to go wherever you want to go.”
Well thanks Minjeong, that was such a helpful answer! Go girl, give us nothing!
Not having anticipated this, Jimin crossed her arms, deep in thoughts. She always spent her free time studying, so she actually doesn’t know any particular spots to hang out. But… she always wanted to try something in particular.
Without really thinking about it, she grabbed Minjeong’s hand, and dragged her towards the nearest arcade.
“I’ve been wanting to try this for so long!” rejoiced Jimin, now sounding way too excited.
Next to her, Minjeong mindlessly looked around the place. “This place is nice, yeah.”
“Do you go here often?” asked Jimin, curious.
“Mhm. By myself though.”
Oh. Jimin hoped she didn’t overstep then… But she didn’t spend too much time worrying, her attention having already been snatched by a racing-looking game. She tugged Minjeong with her, and happily sat on the racing chair.
“Let’s go!”
Jimin first tried out the racing game, guided by Minjeong’s precise instructions. She then bounced towards a shooting game, then towards a basketball one, and soon enough, she ended up dragging Minjeong everywhere with her, blinded by her excitement. If she knew arcades were so fun, she would have gone way sooner!
And eventually, the two girls ended up right in front of a claw machine. Jimin’s eyes immediately sparkled when she noticed shark plushies inside of it.
“I absolutely need one!”
She inserted a coin inside of the machine, and tried her luck. But she should have known better. Claw machines are cruel, and way too rigged. But she really wants this plush! It’s not even a want at this point, it’s a need.
But with each attempt, came a pathetic failure. And a stronger blow to her poor wallet.
“Let me try,” said Minjeong, lightly shoving Jimin out of the way. She wordlessly guided the claw with a level of precision Jimin had never seen before. And soon enough, she actually managed to catch the stuffed toy, to Jimin’s utmost surprise.
Minjeong unceremoniously dropped it in Jimin’s hands. “Here.”
Jimin looked at the plushie’s adorable face, her eyes sparkling. “T-Thank you!”
“Do you like sharks this much?”
Jimin vividly nodded, bringing the stuffed toy closer to her chest. “Mhm! They’re just so adorable, don’t you think? I have a whole collection at home!”
Jimin was so busy fawning about her favorite animal that she failed to notice the sparkle in Minjeong’s eyes quickly shining, as well as the soft blush painting her cheeks.
“Sorry, I was rambling…” remarked Jimin, suddenly feeling self-conscious.
Minjeong’s lips stretched into a soft smile. “It’s fine. Just watching you having fun makes me happy.”
Jimin couldn’t help but blush. This girl might be a brat, but she’s one hell of a smooth talker as well…
“It’s getting late, isn’t it? Should we head back home now?” she said, desperately trying to change the topic. Minjeong slowly nodded, and both girls made their way towards the blonde’s house.
When they arrived right in front of the door, Minjeong waved at her. “Thank you for today, see ya.”
“N-No problem…”
Truthfully, Jimin felt like something was missing. Was Minjeong’s request really just for Jimin to walk her back home? It almost felt too… few?
Minjeong probably noticed the confused look on Jimin’s face because the next thing she knew, the blonde was standing awfully close from her face, a huge smirk plastered on her face.
“Were you hoping for more?”
Has Minjeong’s voice always sounded this… sultry?
“No! Absolutely not!” blurted out Jimin, her face as red as a tomato.
Minjeong knowingly smirked, and softly flicked Jimin’s forehead, much to the latter’s bafflement. “Hehe, just kidding.”
And with that, she disappeared behind the door, leaving a very much flustered Jimin behind.
“This girl really is a mystery huh…”
