Aw~ My cute, lovely students! Prof. An here, this quarter went incredibly fast, wasn’t it? Welcome to the final lecture of FP101: Principles of Photocards and Shrine!
A fellow friend of mine, @IUtachi is going to do an Advanced Mechanics/Tricks for the Shrine system! Please support their work as well ^_^ (Expect two students of mine who had already mastered the mechanics is going to provide yall with "extra" help if you need!)
Without further ado, I shall introduce the final TWO shrines left, which are the Shrine of Power and the Shrine of Wisdom! Those two Shrines are uniquely in a sense that they DO NOT follow the Standard Rate of Offerings at all, hence I am not going to put the rate down below as we normally did.
Shrine of Power:
First of all, let’s look at the definition of the Shrine of Power from the Official Updates Page:
The Power Shrine now demands cards of Rare tier or below only. The buff system has been reworked into three tiers based on how closely your offering matches the demand:
Quality match only — offering any card that shares the demanded quality (e.g. any Q6 when a Q6 is demanded) grants a small buff: 33% failure reduction.
Card match — offering the exact demanded card at any quality grants a large buff: 66% failure reduction.
Card + quality match — offering the exact demanded card at the exact demanded quality grants a full buff: 100% failure removal.
NOTICE:
The buff from the Shrine of Power is multiplicative, NOT additive. That is, the buff is NOT a flat percentage, but instead based on the Shrine you are offering to. See more examples below.
Theorem 01:
“When calculating the chance of success, the Shrine of Power multiplier goes FIRST, the Quality Boost goes LAST.”
Proof of Theorem 01:
I asked the mod.
Q.E.D.
Let’s discuss this case by case, let’s use this Common Yujin 001 (Quality 6) As example:

Suppose THIS is the card desired by the Shrine of Power. Then the following 3 situations can happen:
If you offer ANY card with Quality 6, like this Rare Liz 003 (Quality 6):

Then you get a 33% Failure Reduction for your next offering at the Shrine of Health/Love/Fame/Fortune!
EXAMPLE 1:
Suppose I just offered this Liz to the Shrine of Power, and I do an offering as below:

And the user should expect an APPOXIMATED chance of success:
90% (Estimated Base Chance)
Hence 10% (100% - 90%) chance to fail.
Apply the multiplier from the Shrine of Power: (33% Failure Reduction)
New Chance to fail = 10% * 0.67 (Subtract by 0.33) = 6.7%
Hence, the new Base chance of Success is 100% - 6.7% = 93.3%:
Apply the Quality Boost: the Average Quality of the THREE cards offered is 8/3 ~ 2.67%
Hence, the estimate OVERALL chance of success of THIS specific offering is approximately 96.07%.
EXAMPLE 2:
Suppose I offer THIS Common Yujin 001 (Quality 1) to the Shrine of Power:

Then it triggers the SECOND condition: “offering the exact demanded card at any quality grants a large buff: 66% failure reduction.”
Let’s look at a specific example:

In this case, SUPPOSE the user Offered that specific Yujin 001 (Q1) above to the Shrine of Power, then their chance to succeed in this Shrine of Fortune Offering is about 88%.
The calculation is left for the readers as an Exercise, the FIRST student that demonstrates the full accurate math (Assume a Base Chance of 50% For the Shrine of Fortune) will get a flower from Prof. An!
Huh? Just a flower? What more do you want? What? You want a kiss? No way!
EXAMPLE 3:
What if you have EXACTLY this Common Yujin 001 (Quality 6)?

Simple.
Give it to the Shrine of Power, and you become the God of Pocas.
