Walking down a grass path, reaching a forest they follow a dirt path guiding them deeper into the forest. Walking down the dirt path covered with trees and a bunch of natural flowers, they are envelopes with just the sound of nature. Yujin is just looking around with a small bounce of her feet surveying the area and occasionally stopping at flowers to take a quick picture of them. Unfortunately for Jin-woo, he was tasked to take a couple of photos of her to which he secretly didn’t mind.
Yujin and Jin-woo continue down the dirt path, the gentle crunch of leaves underfoot with the distant calls of birds. After a few moments, the path became obstructed by a thick tangle of branches and leaves. Jin-woo turns to Yujin with a playful glint in his eye.
"Ready to be amazed?" he asks, a hint of excitement in his voice.
Without waiting for her response, Jin-woo pushes aside the branches, revealing a hidden gem. As the foliage parts, a breathtaking scene unfolds before them. The dense forest opens up to reveal a serene pond nestle in the clearing. A graceful waterfall cascaded down from the rugged mountain on the left, its clear water sparkling in the sunlight.
In front of the pond, a natural ledge jutted out, offering a panoramic view of the forest below. The vast number of trees stretches out like a vibrant green carpet. The tranquil sound of the waterfall and the soft rustling of leaves created a soothing backdrop to the stunning vista.
Yujin's eyes wide in awe, taking in the beauty of the secluded spot. It was as if they had stumbled upon a hidden paradise, far removed from the bustle of the world. The peaceful atmosphere and the magnificent view left Yujin momentarily speechless, lost in the sheer splendor of the scene before her.
“You got your swimsuit?” interrupts Jin-woo with a wide grin.
Yujin nods her head slowly, noticing the grin on his face.
“Well, you got 5 mins before I push you into the pond. I’m nice, I know.” Said Jin-woo head tiling to the side with a shrug and the same wide grin
Not wanting to wet her clothes she quickly searches for a place to change. Seeing the area behind the waterfall, she zooms to it not before screaming
“Don’t you dare look!”
“Yea, yea, yea” said Jin-woo before turning around and started taking off his clothes into his swimming trunks.
After changing, Jin-woo waits for the Yujin signal to turn around. Receiving a tap on the shoulders he sees Yujin in a brown swimsuit with straps.

Jin-woo’s eyes lingers on Yujin, taking in the way her swimsuit complements her body showing her smooth skin and curves. "You look good," he said with a grin, his gaze lingering on her.
Yujin blushes slightly and glances at Jin-woo, her eyes tracing his lean and muscular physique. "Thanks, you too." she replies softly, her cheeks flushing.
Jin-woo’s playful expression shifts into a mischievous smirk. "Although I wonder how you’d look wet?" he teases, his gaze twinkling with amusement, slowly moving forward.
Yujin’s eyes widens in surprise, but before she could respond, Jin-woo swepts her up into his arms. The sudden lift caught her off guard, and she felt a rush of wind as he sprints towards the pond. With a gleeful shout and jump, he launches them both into the air, causing Yujin to scream, splashing into the pond with a resounding splash. The cool water envelopes them, momentarily obscuring their vision. As Yujin surfaces, she hears Jin-Woo’s laughter echoing around the pond, his joy unmistakable. She wipes her eyes, her initial shock giving way to exasperation.
"You jerk!" she exclaims, splashing water towards him with a playful annoyance. “You scared the hell out of me!"
Jin-woo laughs heartily, clearly amused by her reaction.
"Hahaha, just trying to have fun!" he said, grinning from ear to ear.
Yujin huffs but couldn’t suppress a small smile. She swims around the pond, the cool water refreshing her from the heat of the sun.
“Ahh” squeals Yujin as a small jet of water sprays her face. Wiping her face she looks back at Jin-woo who has his hand intertwined together floating in the water with the small gap in his hand directed towards her.
“Is that how you want to play?” Responds Yujin as she raises her hand up before splashing it down, splashing the water towards Jin-woo. He immediately retaliates, sending a wave of water back at her, turning their playful exchange into a full-blown water fight. Laughter fills the air as they chase each other, splashing relentlessly. In this moment, Yujin forgets everything else, only happiness fills her heart.
After a while of swimming and splashing around, they sit against one of the large rocks around the waterfall staring at the horizon beyond the cliff, feeling the sun gaze upon them but the cool water covering their waist down. Sitting there, head facing upwards resting on the warm rock behind her.
“Thank you Jin-woo.”
“For what?” Questions Jin-woo, eyes looking at her as she gathers her thoughts.
“For bringing me here. I think I understand why.”
Smiling, Jin-woo looks forward as he says, “Do you now, why did I?”
“ Well, isn’t it for me to relax and to have fun. Maybe showing me a place where I can escape to?” answers Yujin, turning towards Jin-woo.
Jin-woo chuckles, before saying “Well, you aren’t wrong,” Yujin smiles, opening her mouth “Thank-” “you aren’t completely right either.” Interrupts Jin-woo causing Yujin’s smile to falter.
Tilting her head in confusion, she asks “Then what is it.”
“It’s true that I brought you here to relax and escape from your hectic life as an idol, but my true intention is more symbolic. You see, I found myself at the orphanage one day after an argument during a road trip to a neighboring town. I kept walking and walking until I met Uncle Lee and Auntie Ahin, who were just coming back from buying groceries. Thinking I was a lost child, they took me in and showed me the orphanage, back then it wasn’t like it is right now. No toys, no slides, and they were barely able to feed the kids as they weren’t funded by the government. They could barely live by themselves, yet they spent all their income and every day of their lives helping those orphans. I’ve never met a anyone who is this kind and selfless in my life, they make the kids laugh and scream in joy no matter what shitty situation they are in. Do you know what a downside of being an orphan?” ask Jin-woo, staring at the sunset his eyes fill with warmth reflecting the yellow and orange sky.
“No.” says Yujin quietly
“It’s that they never forget they are orphans. They’re constantly reminded, whether consciously or unconsciously. Because of this, orphans often question themselves, asking, ‘Why don’t they love me?’ or ‘Why did they leave me?’ Those who are adopted will grapple with feelings of inadequacy, developing abandonment issues, constantly wondering if they are truly wanted and when they will be left. Thus, they feel the need to prove their worth, striving to show they deserve love, or they completely shut themselves out. Their lives are fundamentally changed. No longer do they see the world through the lens of carefree innocence, but rather through a lens shaped by their experiences and the harsh realities they’ve faced. Every time I see them, I remind myself that no matter how difficult my situation may seem, there are others who are experiencing similar or even greater struggles. What I want you to understand is that our lives, though different, are not lacking. We each have our own paths shaped by our circumstances, and while we may not have had the childhood we once hoped for or envied others for, opportunities will still come our way. These opportunities will be unique to us, and they are not to be missed.” Explains Jin-woo face completely emotionless as if he’s lost in thought.
Yujin sits in silence, her mind replaying every significant moment of her life: from watching her idols on TV, deciding to become an idol herself, competing in Produce, joining IZ*ONE, and now being part of IVE. As these memories play through her mind, tears well up in her eyes. Remembering about the pain and hardship she endured to reach this point, but also the joy she experienced along the way.
“Yujin-ah, I’m glad you’re finally eating.”
She is pulled from her reverie by the feeling of a hand on her shoulder. Jin-woo drew her close, resting her head against his chest. The warmth and comfort makes Yujin to instinctively snuggle closer, her body trembling as if on the verge of breaking down.
“Let it out,” Jin-woo whispers gently.
With his simple encouragement, Yujin couldn’t hold back any longer. Tears streams down her face, her cries breaking the tranquil setting. Jin-woo tenderly rubs her back, offering his silent support.
“I’m just SO tired of everything, working tirelessly, hate comments, helping everyone. I’m just so tired.” Cries Yujin into his chest.
“Whenever you’re exhausted from life as an idol or anything else,” Jin-woo said softly, “come here. Enjoy this, visit the orphanage; Uncle and Auntie will take care of you. And if you want to call me, we can go on another journey together. Though I must warn you, I’m pretty expensive.”
Yujin chuckles quietly at his words; her tears gradually subsiding as she continues to nestle against him. The silence that followed was soothing, enveloping them both in a comforting embrace.
“Why.”
“Hmm?”
“Why did you do this for me.”
“I’ve explain it didn’t I?”
“No, you explain why you brought me here, but not why you did it for me. Our first conversation was an argument about turtles and penguins. We’re not even friends nor do we know each other.”
“We aren’t friends, oh my heart! It burns!” Jin-woo exclaims dramatically.
“Well, now we are, but my point still stands,” Yujin replied, her tone a mix of exasperation and amusement total contrast a minute ago.
“Hmm, let’s say I just want to,” Jin-woo said with a mischievous grin.
Yujin stares at him for a moment, pouting slightly, before deciding to let it go. “Alright, puppy, it should be time to go,” he said as Jin-woo moves her gently away.
“We should head out before it gets dark,” Jin-woo said, stepping out of the water and drying himself with a towel.
Yujin swims to the edge of the pool, climbing out as Jin-woo, already dressed, stood in front of her. He held her clothes in one hand and her bra in the other.
“Hmm, black. I like it,” Jin-woo said with a smirk.
“YAA, give it back, you perv! What’s with everyone taking my underwear?” Yujin shouts.
“Why don’t you come and get it?” Jin-woo taunts, holding the items high above his head.
Determined not to be embarrassed any longer, Yujin quickly scrambled out of the water and jumped to reach for her clothes. With Jin-woo towering at 6’3”, it was a challenge. Frustrated, she kicked his knees, causing him to bend down, which allowed her to snatch her belongings back.
She dashed toward the waterfall to change, returning shortly after, now dressed. Yujin walked down the path to the car, Jin-woo following behind.
When they arrive at the car, Yujin quickly opens the passenger door and sits down with her arms cross against her chest. Shaking his head in amusement, Jin-woo walks to the trunk, retrieve two ice creams, and enters the car. He hands one to Yujin, but she leans away, facing the door window stubbornly.
“Not this again. I thought I was done with this,” Jin-woo thought, letting out a sigh.
Noting her reluctance, Jin-woo decides to use his tried-and-true tactic. He leans over, pushing her right shoulder against the seat while pressing his left hand against the upper door frame, forcing her to look directly at him.
Their eyes locked with each other, and all she can hear is the pounding of her heart.
“His eyes... goddamn, Yujin, keep yourself together,” she thought.
“You gonna eat the ice cream or not?” Jin-woo asks, holding it out to her.
“Hmph, fine. Just because it’s ice cream,” Yujin mumbles, finally reaching for the treat.
Jin-woo smiles, sits back down, and as he starts the car his ice cream gets snatch away.
“Hey” shouts Jin-woo seeing his ice cream being stolen by a puppy.
Grinning ear to ear, Yujin licks both ice cream alternating one after another with each bite.
“Its compensation for all the things I put up with you. Now come on start the car, its getting dark.” Says Yujin
Jin-woo sighs, shaking his head as the car starts moving down the dirt road.
Timeskip
Pulling up to the dorm building, the car comes to a gentle stop. The sky is now a deep shade of twilight, the moon casting a soft glow over the building.
“Thanks for today, Jin-woo. I had fun.” Yujin said, her tone genuine as she unfastens her seatbelt.
“Anytime, Yujin. Whenever you’re free, hit me up and I’ll take you somewhere special.” Jin-woo replies with a warm smile.
Yujin nods in agreement. “I’ll do that. See you around.”
With a final glance at Jin-woo, Yujin opens the car door and steps out. With a final wave she watches Jin-woo drive away before turning and walking towards the dorm building. Her thoughts linger on the day’s events, and the sense of contentment and fullfillment envelopes her as she pushes through the entrance.
Inside the dorm, Yujin finds Wonyoung in the living room, lounging on the couch and watching TV. Wonyoung’s eyes lit up when she sees Yujin walking in.
“Hey! How was it? Did you have fun?” Wonyoung asks eagerly, quickly muting the TV.
“It was great,” Yujin replies, a smile tugging at her lips. “Let’s just say I found a new spot to check out.”
Wonyoung’s interest pique. “Ooh, can I go with you next time?”
“Maybe next time, you’ll love it. Anyway, I’m gonna go shower.” Says Yujin, her thoughts drifting back to the day as she spoke. She continues to walk toward her room, momentarily lost in her reflections.
As Yujin disappears down the hallway, Jin-woo’s car is driving away from the dorm. He soon finds himself in a different setting, a small, dimly lit public park. He parks beside the swings and goes out, taking a seat on one of them. The park is quiet, save for the occasional rustling of leaves in the breeze.
Jin-woo leans back, swinging forward and backwards, his eyes staring up at the moon. After a few moments, two cars pull up to the park. From one of the vehicles emerges several men dress in black suits, their expressions serious and unreadable. They walk with purpose towards Jin-woo, stopping directly in front of him.
The quiet of the park contrasted sharply with the tension that now filling the air. Jin-woo’s relaxed and nonchalant posture contradicts the seriousness of the situation.
“So gentlemen, are we here to dance or what.” Said Jin-woo as his glasses lowers showing his blue eyes pulsing with power.
Screaming like a tv villain, 3 men runs towards him, knife in their hands ready to slice Jin-woo to pieces. The first goes for a stab aiming for his stomach which Jin-woo just sidestep to dodge before sending a kick at his back. Another one went for a forward diagonal slash to the face with another coming up behind him aiming for the legs at the same time. Without a single effort, he jumps split kick both, one in the face and one in the ribs. Leaving all three of them on the ground groaning in pain like they’ve never felt before. The remaining morons comes rushing at him engaging in hand-to-hand combat allowing the ones on the floor to recover. Jin-woo, ever so bored, allows them to throw multiple punches at him though none of them lands. From a far one would think they were play tag as Jin-woo dancing and swerving around them hand in his pockets.
“Come one guys, you guys are making things way to easy.” Says Jin-woo while dodging swings from front and back, left and right,
“Have your bosses not teach you anything at all? Like come on, I swear I’m popular” ponders Jin-woo scratching the back his head.
“or are you trying to find something.” Squints Jin-woo before retaliating back.
One to the neck, two to the chest, two to the legs and one in the groin. All that’s left are 5 men on the ground knocked out on the ground unconscious. Walking towards one of them Jin-woo kneels, his eyes squinting for a moment.
“My, my, my now your faces look pretty interesting. Why don’t I give a small pinch. Whoops now I got your face, or your fake face.” Said Jin-woo
In his hand was a see-through slime, or to people like Jin-woo, Facial Reconstruction Slime. By putting it on a facial plate, it scans the desired facial structure and stimulate it on the gel, and once the plate is removed the gel will harden into the desired face. This is a high-tech technology not accessible to the public or even government and the black market. There is the only way one would get this product in the world. With the slime removed, it exposed the face of a supposed extinct creature from this world.
“It’s time I make a quick visit.” Thought Jin-woo as he disappears
Time skip
Two weeks has passed since the road trip, after days of rehearsals and occasional photoshoots, Yujin finds herself sprawl across her bed, eyes lock on the unchanging screen of her computer. The dorm felt unusually quiet, with most of the members off on their own adventures, Rei is in Japan visiting family, Gaeul and Liz back in their hometowns, and Wonyoung once again immersed in another brand photoshoot oversea. It leaves just her and Leeseo left in the dorm, and the monotony is starting to wear on her. Yujin considers going for a bike ride with Leeseo, hoping it might break the endless cycle of practice and boredom.
DING
Just as she was about to get up, her phone buzzes with a new notification. It was Youngji, inviting her to a local food festival. Yujin's mood instantly lifts at the prospect of something new and exciting. She quickly shoots back a text asking if Leeseo could join them as well, and Youngji agrees. They settle on meeting at the festival in thirty minutes. Yujin hurries to Leeseo’s room, finding her hunched over textbooks and notes, clearly exhausted from the relentless grind of homework.
“Leeseo-ah, I’ve got something fun planned. How about we take a break, get our bikes and head to the food festival?” Yujin proposed, staring at Leeseo. Leeseo’s eyes brighten at the idea, and she eagerly agrees, setting aside her books with a sigh of relief.
“Thank goodness, I don’t think I could stare at another book for the next hour.” Gasp Leeseo
“Then hurry up and change, we’ll meet Youngji there. Remember to bring your mask.” Reminds Yujin
Yujin and Leeseo leaves their dorm and head towards Yujin’s new car, which she had recently acquired. After a brief drive through the underground car park, they emerge onto the street and made their way to the bustling festival. As they navigate through the city traffic, Yujin drives by the festival seeing the large crowd, she reminds Leeseo to stay close and keep their facemasks on. Finding a parking space wasn’t too difficult, and they soon exited the car, ready to enjoy the festivities.
As they walk toward the festival entrance, they spot Youngji standing near a food stall. Youngji, dressed casually in a jacket, crop top, and loose high-waist pants, was wearing a facemask like Yujin and Leeseo.
“Look, there’s Youngji,” Yujin said, nudging Leeseo. “Let’s go.”
Youngji notices them approaching and greets them quietly. “Hey, Yujin! Leeseo! It’s been a while hasn’t it. Come, one let’s go! I’m hungry.” Says Youngji as she grabs both of their arms and drags them into the festival.
With a smile, Yujin agrees, “Yea, yea calm down, we have plenty of time.”
Youngji points towards a nearby food stand, her excitement evident. “There’s a stand over there with some incredible festival treats. Let’s check it out!”
“You’re paying right?” teases Yujin giving her a smirk
“Ya, You guys are members from one of the biggest girl group in the world. Im a poor non famous rapper while You’re both rich.” Replies Youngji with a dead palm face.
“ Yujin unnie told me not to bring my wallet and that Youngji unnie would pay for me. I’m just a high school student.” Says Leeseo Innocently fueling the flame
“Ya, When did I ever say that? I can make you walk home.” Yujin threatens Leeseo
“Besides, you'll pay for us right, my best friend.” Said Yujin staring at Youngji with puppy eyes trying to convince her.
“UGH fine but next time you are paying and I’m going to dry your wallet up.” Replies Youngji completely giving up
The three of them then wove through the lively crowd, heading towards the food stand. The festival buzzing with activity, from the colorful lights of the booths to the upbeat music filling the air. Despite the throngs of people, the festive spirit was palpable, promising a day full of fun and adventure.
As they stroll through each stall, they couldn’t resist sampling a variety of delectable treats. They tried fishcakes, corndogs, pan-fried meat patties, and special fried chicken, savoring each bite. While browsing the vendors, they engaged in lively banter and snapped photos of the mouthwatering dishes they tasted. After enjoying the festival's culinary delights, they decided to extend their adventure by taking a leisurely walk through the city.
“Yujin-ah What have you been doing since we last seen each other.” Said Youngji munching on some lamb skewers.
“Hmmm, Well last time we met was during filming with Na Pd-nim. After that I’ve been busy touring.” Replies Yujin
“Mhm, I saw a lot of your performance. You all looked very good, especially your performance with Leeseo for Women Like Me. It KNOCKED me OUT.”
“Unnie what about me?” asked Leeseo with a small pout
“Leeseo-ya you were very very good! You perform really well. Though you know, sometimes seeing you with Yujin gives me mother and daughter vibes. Y’know.”
“Haha, I remember reading some comments on a post of an airport picture. They were saying how Leeseo looked like my daughter with how Leeseo dressed and walked.”
“Ya unnie, I’m not a baby, and It’s not my fault that I wanted to be comfy on a flight.” Said Leeseo rolling her eyes
“Nae nae agi.” Said Yujin with a giggle.
“Do you guys have anything else scheduled soon?” wonders Youngji
“No not really, only some photoshoots and possibly a reality show but other than that nothing really since we finished our world tour.” Replies Yujin taking a bite of her bun causing her face to scrunch at the terrible taste.
“ reality show? What is it called?” ask Youngji intrigued
“ Can’t tell you but it’s a weeklong show and it’s going to be filmed abroad” explains Yujin as she gives the rest of the bun to Leeseo.
“Really? That sounds like fun! Filming abroad is amazing; it’s basically a vacation. It’s just like Earth Arcade again, I can’t wait to film the next season.”
“Yea, but I just want to stay home sometimes, besides I just came back from a world tour. I need some home time.” Says Yujin throwing away their garbage in the passing garbage can.
“True, but what are you going to do at home?” Questions Youngji
“Watching dramas or staying inside.” Replies Yujin
“Well, Unnie went on a road trip with—“ says Leeseo until a hand covers her mouth keeping it shut.
Following the hand, it belongs to an alerted Yujin who was sheepishly looking at Youngji.
“Eh? What are you doing? Who did you go on a road trip with.” Ask Youngji in confusion
“Oh no one, just by myself.” Said Yujin with a smile as a comical sweat slid down her face.
Having a mischievous thought, Leeseo licks Yujin hand causing her to yelp in disgust and look at Leeseo who had a smirk.
“She went out with Eunchae’s Oppa, and apparently from Wonyoung Unnie, Yujin-unnie came back very, very satisfied from the trip that she went total autopilot when she got home and the next day.” Explains Leeseo exposing Yujin without a hint of remorse.
Yujin could only facepalm in embarrassment, because knowing Youngji’s personality, she would not live it down at all. Turning towards said person, the gears clocked it in her head as her face became very creepy.
“Oh, my, my An Yujin you sly fox. You went on a road trip with a man and you didn’t tell me? How else am I going to make your life miserable? I thought we were sisters.” said Youngji dramatically, holding her chest as if it was in pain.
“It wasn’t a big deal.” Said Yujin trying to play it cool looking away from Youngji
“Uh huh, wait until I tell Eunji Unnie and Mimi Unnie.” Said Youngji narrowing her eyes
“NOooo I won’t be able to live it down. I’ll be nagged and bullied by them.” Pleads Yujin, already imagining the amount of teasing she’ll receive from the both of them.
“HAHAHA Fine but you gotta tell. Is he at least good looking? No wait, don't answer that. That’s the minimum requirement. Hmm Does he sing? What does he do? Most importantly is he rich???” questioned Youngji
“Jin-woo Oppa is very, very handsome, Omo his blue eyes…. Is very dreamy. He is a pro gamer!” said Leeseo loving the painful look on Yujin’s face
“Oh, Oppa already, seems like you’re pretty close already huh and is he older than me?” asks Youngji
“Yea he was very, very nice and cool. A lot of Aura too. I think he is 01? So yes, he is.” answers Leeseo
Yujin could only sigh knowing that Pandora's box is open. Getting it together she replies
“Jin-woo can sing very well and I think he is rich but that’s based on him buying a Mercedes Benz S-Class 2024 just for him to drive while he’s in Korea. Afterwards he'll give it to Eunchae when she gets her license.”
“NO WAYYY! Unnie, you have to keep him now so I can get a car like that!” exclaims Leeseo, surprised as she didn’t hear this part from.
“ Ya He’s not an item!” said Yujin
“Well, at least don’t let Yunjin-Unnie steal him! After all he is your rival, I need to inform the others so we can start planning.” Comments Leeseo quickly getting her phone out to text the group chat.
“Ya! No!” screams Yujin, snatching her phone away from her.
“OH my God, Yujin-ah, you got to work quickly. Rich, handsome, nice and can sing. People like this are extremely rare. Besides, how far did you get?” Jokes Youngji with a wiggle of her eyebrows, bringing her hands together and pulling it apart slowly.
Yujin could only hold her face in embarrassment, not wanting to deal with this conversation anymore, she sped up ahead of them. Not looking at where she is going, suddenly she bumps into someone knocking herself back to the ground.
“Ouch.”
Yujin falls on her butt, as Youngji and Leeseo run forward to pick her up. Standing back up, she looks up to see the person she bumped into. Standing in front of her is a Chinese woman roughly a year or so younger with a ponytail and two bangs framing her beautiful yet fierce face. A pair of sharp eyes glaring down at her in judgement, Yujin quickly bows, wanting to apologize.
“Sorry for --”
“Watch yourself, you peasant.” spits the Women before walking through them hitting Yujin shoulder along the way.
“Ya what the hell is her problem. Ya get back here!” Said Youngji ready to give the girl a piece of her mind
“ Unnie, it's fine. Let’s just go, we shouldn’t cause a scene. I just bump into her.”
“Fine, Fine. Let’s walk a bit more then I’ll follow you guys to your car.” Said Youngji
They continued to walk down the sidewalk, chatting until night came before they went their separate ways.
Somewhere
On top of a building 1 person is standing there staring at them while another is sitting on the edge with their feet dangling in the air eating some mochi.
“Really this is the girl you choose?” asked a voice
“ Yup, cute isn’t she.” Said another voice with a humor tone
“ She is adequate, though is soft and weak.” Said the first voice
“ Hmm well I see something special in her.” Said the second voice
“ What kind of special, need I remind you of—”
“Enough, it’s time for me to go. I don’t want my sweets to melt.” Said the voice before the voice disappears into thin air.
“Sigh, this idiot is still an idiot…. Hmm, I hope you can change my mind, An Yujin.” Said the first voice, staring at the moving car.
