“So you’re telling me, this gorgeous business woman, enjoyed Dahyun’s company while she was being a total blitz?” Chaeyoung asked out loud right after taking a big swig from her beer bottle.
Jihyo nodded her head quickly, excited to answer. “Yeah! I saw everything happen.”
Chaeyoung let out a breath and looked at Dahyun, who was just staring at the ceiling, cradling her drink in her hands. “And did you know you were being a dumbass the whole time?”
Dahyun couldn’t get her eyes off the ceiling. Her mind was just filled with Nayeon, picturing her beautiful smile and teeth. “She said I was funny...” Dahyun mumbled.
“Dude, just let her be. It’s been a while since Dubs actually talked to a woman without them running away from her,” Jeongyeon chimed in, wrapping her arm around Jihyo. “Don’t you want to find true love as well, Chaeng?”
“Obviously, I do,” she responded, gulping down the rest of her drink. “But I keep finding women who are either in it just for the sex or who are emotionally available but already have a tenant renting and she wants to add more.”
Jihyo reached over and caressed her hand. “It’s okay, sweetie. I know that sooner or later you’re going to find someone who’s going to love you the way you want to be. And you’re gonna love them so much with your big heart.”
Dahyun threw her hand on Chaeyoung’s shoulder and nodded. “I'm just gonna agree with Ji. I already told you my thoughts on this.”
Chaeyoung sighed, briefly calling a waiter to serve her another beer. “Well, if I’m gonna get a girlfriend, she’s gonna be kind, good with animals, likes my jokes and would be willing to have lots of sex and babies with me.”
Dahyun rolled her eyes. “It’s always the sex and babies for you.”
Chaeyoung raised a brow at her. “Don’t you want to have lots of sex and babies with the business lady booked for Friday afternoon?”
She blushed hard. “Hey! I just met her.”
“And yet you claimed you were in love with her,” Jeongyeon added, smirking at her.
Dahyun sighed and took a sip from her drink. She wasn’t really sure if she was in love with Nayeon but there was a part of her that couldn’t stop thinking of her that way. But one thing was for sure, she couldn’t wait for Friday.
She shot up from her seat. “Fuck, right! The reason why I called you guys.”
Before Dahyun could continue, they all saw Tzuyu making her way through the crowd and dropped herself in their booth, on the spot next to Jeongyeon. “Hi, sorry I’m late.”
“Woah, you okay?” Jeongyeon asked, looking at her. “You look pretty winded there.”
She looked at Jeongyeon and then at the table. “Had another fight with Ri.”
“You wanna talk about it?” Chaeyoung asked.
Tzuyu shook her head and then ordered herself a beer. After the server left their table, she leaned on the table facing the others. “So, what do you need, Dubs?”
“Oh right.” She fixed herself and then leaned her elbows on the table as well. “That customer said she’s having a meeting with ten or more people, and I might need extra hands helping me out. Fridays are busy days at the space. So I kinda need help.”
“Sure! I don’t have classes on my Friday afternoons,” Jihyo said happily.
“My sister can watch the shelter for me and Tzuyu?” Jeongyeon added. “We can always come back once it’s done.” Tzuyu nodded in agreement.
Then they all turned their heads to Chaeyoung, but Dahyun placed a hand on her friend's shoulder. “I know your work ends at five so it’s okay if you can’t."
Chaeyoung scoffed. “And miss out? Fuck no.” She smiled widely at her friend. “I’ll just finish work early or make a lame excuse to leave already. Maybe I can help you stock up too before I go there?”
“Okay!” Dahyun’s smile was big, and her eyes disappeared from her face. She grabbed Jihyo and Chaeyoung into a hug. “So let’s meet before three in the afternoon!”
At least that hurdle was done. The next one was Nayeon.
Friday came and all five of them were inside the space, prepping the conference room and catering to the walk-ins. Jihyo and Jeongyeon decided to team up at the front desk while Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu were cleaning and fixing up the room for Nayeon and her clients.
Dahyun got a bit too excited for this reservation that she even made sure to bring their good coffee maker and bought a shit ton of styrofoam cups for them. Corporate people did like good coffee so she should be prepared for that. She would hate to make a bad impression on Nayeon and herself.
Once the three were done, they heard the doorbell ring and Dahyun rushed out, almost tripping on some wires but managed to land safely flat on her feet.
Nayeon entered the space and smiled brightly when she saw Dahyun. “Hi! We’re here for our reservation.”
Dahyun felt like the air in her lungs disappeared when she saw that smile again. It had only been days since she last saw it but it felt like ages since she did.
“Dubs,” Jeongyeon called out when the friends noticed she was staring again.
She cleared her throat. “Right. Yes, the room is ready for you guys.”
Nayeon turned around and a bunch of men and women in suits and ties quietly enter the space and they all follow Dahyun towards the big conference room. Chaeyoung held the door open for them and Dahyun waited until everyone was in. Nayeon was the last one to enter and she held onto her arm.
“I thought you worked alone?” Nayeon whispered, she was looking at Jeongyeon and Jihyo who were seated behind the counter.
Dahyun’s face was a bright red when Nayeon was holding onto her like that. But she composed herself when Chaeyoung cleared her throat. “Ah, yeah. These are my friends. I asked them for help in case you needed something, and I got my hands full.”
Nayeon pursed her lips and nodded. She was about to enter but then stopped to look at Dahyun. “I’m still gonna look for you when I need something, okay?”
Chaeyoung and Dahyun raised their brows at what she said. The shorter one tried to look away as if she didn’t hear anything and Dahyun gulped hard. “S-sure. I’ll leave the rest to my friends then.”
“Okay, perfect.” Nayeon winked at her and closed the door, already starting her meeting with her company.
Dahyun took a sharp turn and walked quickly towards the pantry, feeling herself sweat so much with all the blushing. Chaeyoung and Tzuyu followed after her.
“What happened?”
“Dude, I think Nayeon totally wants to suck your dick.”
“Shh!” Jihyo scolded them from the counter and Jeongyeon had to stifle her laugh.
Dahyun trid to take deep breaths and focus her vision as the room was starting to spin. She felt lightheaded from the simple sentence Nayeon told her. “This is happening too fast.”
”What?” Tzuyu was still confused.
Dahyun’s vision was starting to spin and her breathing was short. “I’m freaking out. I can’t do this.”
Chaeyoung grabbed her shoulders and tapped her cheeks quickly with her palm. “You are not gonna revert back to the Dahyun that’s scared and thinks she’s not enough.” She pulled her closer and tried to lower her voice. “There is a beautiful woman who obviously would rather talk to you than any of us. So you got this. Don’t fucking chicken out.”
“What the midget says.” Tzuyu rested her elbow on top of Chaeyoung’s head.
Chaeyoung then proceeded to try and shove it away. “Fuck off.”
