Upgrade Paths

Okay, so I’m just jumping in with a quick one here, thanks to me seeing a question from one of my favourite people and realising that it may be unclear exactly what cards can upgrade into what.

1st and 2nd Editions

So let’s start with Yujin here…

Anyway… all of my fellow beauty shriners (we suffer together) will know that it’s a very long road to get from our common cutie Yujin here, all the way to… well…

fuck.

Sorry.

Now that we’re in season 2, Yujin has many routes to reach her final form, and it’s important to note that both 1st edition and 2nd edition cards are treated equally.

So let’s say that you take your common An Yujin 101 and raise her quality to Q10, and then you roll her in the beauty shrine and hit that sweet upgrade, well you could get either of her uncommon cards.

And this applies at every tier where both a 1st and 2nd edition card exists, because both of those are in currently active, droppable sets. So in future, when 1st edition disappears, and 3rd edition appears, you would then only be able to 2nd and 3rd edition pocas.

So you can go all the way up her available cards through multiple routes to reach her Cosmic.

But prael, I have the 002 and I want the 102…

Well, you can make use of the the love shrine, and the bonus that comes from using the card in the same group.

In my Shuhua example below, I can use the Love shrine on her 001, making use of the significant 25% group bonus.

Importantly, using the love shrine for a common Shuhua can produce both Shuhua 001 and 101, so this is not a guaranteed swap between the editions (this may be subject to immediate change), but if you win the 50-50 then…

Limited Cards

There is, currently, only ever one limited collection available. Right now, that means that only the Summer ‘26 collection is available, and the previous Spring ‘26 collection is not.

This means that you cannot receive any card from the Spring ‘26 collection from any of the shrines.

You can, however, submit a Spring ‘26 photocard into the shrine, in return for one from the Summer ‘26 collection, however, be warned that you will not be able to get your Spring photocard back!

Multiple photocards and Duo photocards

When an idol has more than one card in a tier and you beauty into that tier, you have an equal chance to be given any of those cards, including duo cards.

So let’s take my currently Q10 Kazuha… (yes, I am doing this live.)

If this successfully become a Legendary, I have an equal chance of receiving either of the following cards:

Upgrading Duo Cards

Let’s imagine for a moment, that I recieved the Shinez 101 card in place of the Kazuha above.

As this card contains both Yunjin and Kazuha, if I was to beauty upgrade this duo card, I would have an equal chance to recieve either of Kazuha or Yunjin’s Etheral cards:

BUT

Kazuha also has another Ethereal card, Summerz 101

This means, it is actually a 1 in 3 chance at getting any of the above three cards.

Therefore, it is entirely possible to complete the following upgrade path:

Yunjin 004 Epic → Shinez 101 Legendary → Summerz 101 Ethereal → Ssamkkura 101 Cosmic

Yep, you can go from Yunjin Epic, through Kazuha, to reach a Chaewon and Kkura duo card.
