"Lost" | Jihyo x Male Reader

(FRIDAY, AT THE GROCERY SHOP)
"I'm sorry but I need to do this. We made an agreement last time but what did you do? You didn't live up-"

"But b-boss, I'm really my best to manage my time to work for this job and studying at the same time.", you said as you placed your hands together at the top of his desk as if you were praying for his forgiveness. "Please, don't do this. I need this job but my studies is still important to me. Please, boss. This is all I have."

"I would love to keep you but... my business is also getting affected with your lack of presence here in my shop. You know that not at all times I can request your co-employees to make their sift earlier because they're also doing something before they go to work.", the owner said to you. You just frowned at him while you're listening to what he's saying.
" I'm really sorry, Y/N but we're ending this here. You were a great worker, seriously.", he stood up from his seat, placing his hand on your shoulder to show sympathy for you while he looks at you.

"I hope that you can find somewhere out there who will accept you. Thank you for your service and I'm really sorry, Y/N.", he reached for your hand and shaked it to show gratitude for you despite of this unfortunate night you just have in your job.

"T-thank you sir too for giving me a chance to experience working here. It helped me howsoever in my struggles.", you said while your voice is getting shaky as you control your tears now to break out. You heaved a huge sigh before unpinning the nameplate in your uniform and giving it to your boss before you pick up your bag on the chair and left the grocery store.

(AT THE STREETS, FRIDAY EVENING)
While you are walking lazily on the sidewalk on your way home, you felt that your cellphone vibrated in your pocket. You picked it up and you saw the screen showing a call profile of the owner of the apartment you're staying at. You answered the call and placed the phone near to your ear to start talking to her.

"Hello, Mrs. Kim? What's for the call?"

"Good evening Y/N. I just want to remind you about the balance of your rent. I really need the money now so I would like you to please pay it all now this week?", Mrs Kim said behind the call. You felt nervous immediately after knowing the fact that you don't have any money to pay for it again, especially that you just lost your job today.

"Uhm but Mrs. Kim, can it hold on for a while? I- I don't have enough... to pay for it. I-I just got fired...", you said while stuttering.

"I understand that you're having problems, Y/N but please think that everyone around you suffers the same too, like me.", you pressed your thumb and index finger in your forehead as you massaged it slowly because you felt stressed now on what are you going to do to solve this. You know that you just can't find a new job that easily. You don't even have anyone for you to borrow some money because you don't have family, friends or relatives you're close with. "I'm sorry, Y/N but if you didn't fully paid it all this week, I have no other choice but to kick you out."

"N-noted, Mrs. Kim. I'll just find a way then. ", then you quickly ended the call. The tears in your eyes starts to fall. You're just way too stressed and exhasuted on how are gonna be able to keep surviving. First, your teacher just warned your of your failing grades in class. second, your boss just fired you from the job because you're always late in your shift and third, the owner of where you are living at right is charging you now to pay your debt in rent.

"What am i going to do?", you groaned while sniffing as you try to stop crying.

Everything is just falling apart all at the same time.

While trying to come up with some strategies and ideas on what you should do, you didn't got aware that you just accidentally kicked something on the wall. It made a metal clanging sound which caught your attention and made you stop on your tracks, standing just right in front of a large garbage bin. You looked on what it is and picked it up as you became curious what the hell are you seeing right now.

"What is this?", you said while taking a look at the thing you're holding. "A gold teapot? But why is it way too small?". As you became interested and attracted to this expensive looking object, you placed the bag in front of you and then you put the gold small teapot inside.

( AT Y/N'S HOUSE, FRIDAY EVENING)

"Why would they dump this in the trash?", you said after putting the gold small teapot out of your bag as you finally reached home. You were sitting in the couch, observing this thing you have in your hands very closely. "It looks... expensive. I may not be right but I think this is made out of gold."

As you rotated it to check every sides, you noticed something that is written just below of it, at the base of the teapot. You read it carefully to understand more what does it say.

"Rub the lamp with your palm if you want to change your life.", you furrowed your eyebrows after you read it. It actually sound weird making you think what does this thing can do. Is it really not that normal as what you think it is? "Uhh okay?"

You followed what's written on the base, so you gently placed both of your hands at both sides of the teapot, making it placed between your hands. You started to roll the teapot as you rub your palm slowly back and forth in it. You just keep on doing it until suddenly the teapot starts to shake by itself, making you startled in terror.

You quickly let go of the teapot as it fell on the floor, but it keeps shaking. You crawled backwards to stay away from it, preparing yourself if ever there's more terrifying you may encounter tonight.

And it did. It made you flinch so bad when you saw the it open and exploded a red smoke. You tried not to shout to avoid disturbing your neighbors. You slowly turned your head back to look at what happened to the teapot, only to saw the big red smoke once again... but it even looked more different when you noticed that it a half body of a ....... woman?

"W-what the?"

"You have been summoned the Genie. Swear to my oath that I will be loyal only to my master and serve three wishes.", the red smoke woman said who just introduced herself as the genie. Meanwhile, you're literally just staring at her with pure puzzled expression making your face look all crumpled. After she said it, it stayed for a couple of second of pure silence, so it made the Genie feel awkward. " Uhh hello, do you understand me?", she said after clearing her throat, looking closer to you which made you flinched back again.

"Y-yeah I do but wait, what? Master? W-what is going on? Who are you?!", you confusedly asked her.

'You were the one who unleashed me from the lamp, so that means you need me to grant your wishes. And as the genie, I would be happy to serve my one and only master... so that makes you as my master.", Genie said, pointing happily at you.

" I am not your master okay?", you bluntly said to her, slowly standing up from sitting on the floor. "I'm just a normal college guy who got curious what is this thing and then voila, i'm now literally speaking to smoke being.", you said as you traced her with your hand.

"Hey! I have a name. I'm no smoke being, I'm the genie.", she said while she's spinning everywhere like a tornado, looking around inside your room which made you even more panicked that she might broke something. "Now, mind telling me how did you get this?", she asked you, pointing at the teapot below her which she's connected at.

"I don't know I just found this near at the garbage bin scattered on the ground after I accidentally kicked it.", you said while slowly looking away from her because you're scared that she might be angry knowing that you made some harm on her property.

"Makes sense why you're new to me... and this place too.", she said, stroking her chin while looking upwards like she's thinking. "You said garbage bin, right?

"Uh huh.", you nodded.

"They don't need me, they're just like everyone else I served.", she said in a breathy voice, lowering her head after she felt sadness. But it all quickly changed when she transitioned back into an all fine mood, raising her head back and looked at you as she focused instead on what's happening right now.

"So... let's get straight to the point. Now, give me your three wishes and I will make it come true just for you.", she said, placing both of her hands on her waists, posing proudly to herself.

"Anything?", you raised your eyebrow at her, intensely wanting to make sure that it is really true.

"Yes, anything you want.", she answered you but gestured you to stop when you were about to say your first wish to her as she saw you move your mouth. "Butttttt oops! Wait, there's more. You still have rules to follow though."

"What is it?"

"Number 1, you cannot wish to revive or kill somebody. Number 2, you can't wish to make someone or yourself fell in love and number 3, you can't bring anyone back from the dead.", she explained to you while she's counting it all using her fingers.

"Oh... okay.", you showed to her that you understand it all by nodding your head quickly. Actually it was disappointing because you really wanted to wish you have your late parents again with you and have friends too. "Uhm, I wish... I have more money.", you said to her. The Genie just looked at you as if she's waiting for something more.

"What amount? Be specific hey.", she said, snapping her fingers in front of your face. You just chuckled in embarassment.

"Sorry.", you scratched your nape. " Uhm... I wish I have money worth 1 million won."

"Okie dokie, 1 million amount of money coming right up!", the she starts waving her hands, forming something using her magic. You just watched her as she starts to make a bag full of money as it slowly appears from colorful glitters. All you can do is stare in awe with your jaw widely dropped.

"Woah... wow, you really are a genie.", you said as you kneel in front of the bags full of money. You scopped some using your hands and stared at it with your sparkling eyes. "I can finally pay the house and buy all I want.", you said in glee. You started to let the tears of joy flow beneath your cheeks as you feel overwhelmed of this blessing.

"Why are you the one who needs to pay the house? Where are your parents?", the Genie asked you, crossing her arms. With that mention of your parents, it made you halt and stare at the wall, remembering one of the worst things that happened to you.

"They uhm... They... They passed away since I was so little.", you said while shaking your head and clearing your throat as you try to contain yourself.

"Is that so? Sorry to hear that my master.", she said as she flew to your side, looking worriedly at you with frown on her face.

"It's fine.", you just smiled it off on her, wanting her to disregard and not to think more about you. "So uhm Genie, do you have any more names? Like a real one.", you looked at her while you're rubbing your fist to your eyes to wipe the tears.

"I don't have one. Only Genie.", she simply answered, shaking her head from side to side.

"How did you became into this? Are you a human before?", you finally asked to her one of the questions that appeared in your mind after you saw her. This time, it was Jihyo who became silent as she formed another frown in her face.

"I was. It's been a long long long time ago since I am one, like you.", she nodded and pointed at you. "I shouldn't have travelled all along by myself. It was an accident. I never meant to piss the sorcerer off aftrer trespassing to his property. He gave me something I didn't even deserve because I never meant that to happen.

He cursed me and imprisoned me into this lamp for eternity, serving countless masters through all generations who needs my presence for their wishes to be heard and granted just with a rub on a lamp.", she said while her eyes aren't blinking because she's too much focused on her mind who's doing a flashback of what happened many years before while she's explaining and narrating it.

"How long have you been cursed?"

"As far as I know, 10, 000 years.",

"Jesus", you clicked your tongue, feeling distressed for what she had gone through.

"If only I could wish too and grant my own. I just... I just want to be freed. I want to experience living like a human again because after all this time, I only have nothing but a curse.", she said while she's presenting herself to you, tracing her figure.

"Did you ever had a friend?"

"I- I don't.", she shook her head.

"Then I can be one for you.", you shrugged. Her face enlightened, both her eyes and mouth rised.

"Are you serious?", the genie asked while blinking rapidly. She just can't believe that she's finally gonna get a friend. Her first one.

"I do, and I needed it too. We just have something in common.", you pointed yourself and her. "I never had a friend too so... what if you and I just be like that then?", you spreaded your arms at her as if your welcoming her. She now learned that you also had no one that's why you're offering her a friendship.

"Sure, my master... I accept.", she said while taking a spin, giving you a thumb up and a wide grin. You just let out a small laugh because of how goofy she is.

"Don't call me master please. Just Y/N.", you chuckled, swiping your hand off at her. " I want us to treat each other like a normal friends. No higher ones between us."

"I'm glad that I finally know the name of my master.", she smiled. "Aye aye, Y/N.", then she posed like a pirate and gave you a salute.

"Great... so uhm, I'll just save the last two wishes maybe tomorrow?", you asked her, scratching your arm. "I have to rest. Today's not been great to me."", you heaved out a sigh to show her how the disastrous events badly affected your energy today.

"Sure do!", Jihyo followed you, giving you a single nod while smiling.

"Thanks Genie for earlier. Good night.", you waved your hands at her before you enter your bedroom. Jihyo halted when she heard something that made her shock, but not enough for her to make snap out of her senses.

"G-good night, Y-Y/N.", then she watched you finally disappear in her eyes. Before she went back to the lamp, she murmured something.

"He said thank you... unlike anybody before him...", she said in a very low tone, placing both of her hands at her chest, feeling its fast heartbeat that makes it thump aggressively. She let out an appreciative smile before finally going back to her lamp.

(THE NEXT DAY, SATURDAY MORNING, AT Y/N'S ROOM)
"House has been now saved, thanks to those money.", you said after entering your room. You went to the owner to pay all of your debt, including this month.

She was shocked ofcourse, on where did you able to get all of these money. You just said that a good hearted woman gave it to you willingly since she wants to help you on your problems.

Good thing she believed that and didn't speculate anymore to ask you another questions.

After you closed the door, you started to think of anything you want to do for today. "Alright, it's a new day so... uhm, shall I...?, Since it's weekend,today is a whole free time because yeah you just got fired from your job meaning you don't have anything else to do.

Until something came up in your mind.
" You know what fine, I'll do it then.", you walked towards the table and picked up the magic lamp placed on it.
You started to rub it and with that, it exploded a red smoke, unleashing the Genie once again.

"You have been summoned the Genie. Swear to my oath that I will be loyal only to my master and serve three wishes.", she said her line again then she went acting back to normal. "Hey there, Y/N! Ready to give your remaining two wishes?", she asked while smiling at you.

"Yes I am.", you gave her a flat smile.

"Alright, bring it on! I'm ready.", she stretched her fingers and relaxed her body as she waits for your second wish.

"Wait, so only two wishes and it's over right?", you asked her.

"Yes, my duty of serving you will be finished.", she said. You don't know why you felt sad hearing that. Maybe the fact that she gave you a huge help already by giving you a lot of money to fix your financial problems making her too hard to see her go away.

"No infinity wishes?", you asked again, trying to make sure if there's chances even though it's alresdy obvious that you're not.

"Nope. Sorry.", she said then pouts as she shook her head.

"But I want to...", you were about to finish your words when suddenly your thoughts interrupted you as it gave you a new idea that is actually good. Thjnk of like a some sort of "Plan B". "Oh wait a second, I think I can do it.", you explained, making a single clap. "Genie, my second wish is that I wish... I can have a magic notebook that when I write the things I want in it, I can have it."

"Ooh, sneaky move. Y/N. Great wish then.", she smirked at you which made you just smile instead in shame. She starts moving her hands again as she forms a yello notebook from magic glitters. "Voila! There you have it. Your magic notebook.", you picked it up and smiled while you're looking at it." So... what do you wanna write in it?

"First I will need... wait, I think I need to do this one outside.", you said as you abruptly stopped your steps." But, can you come with me?", you said as you turned back to her.

"No problemo, Y/N! I can look normal, don't worry.", then she starts to spin and transforms into a new look. She literally looks like a normal human this time, still wearing something like a genie with her white crop top and red pants along with her black curly long hair.

You looked at her and wow, your eyes widened at how beautiful and sexy she actually looks.

"So this is how you really look like?", you said while still staring at her, amazed at what you're seeing still.

"Yeah, shocking right?", she chuckled while she's looking at her outfit.

"It is... wow, you actually look gorgeous Genie.", you didn't saw that she actually blushed at that statement. "Now I'm kinda mad how does a beauty like this needs to be locked in a lamp?", you rolled your eyes and clenched your fists.

"T-thanks, Y/N.", she said, still blushin and feeling a bit shy. "Also, calm down. What happened before, it alresdy happened and we can turn back the time to change it."

"So since you can atleast form into a human, then what if I should give you another name then?", you said to her which made her look at you curiously.

"What do you have in mind?"

"Hmm... how about, my favorite surname Park then...... Jihyo? Park Jihyo?", you said as you happily revealed it to her.

"It's great. I like it, Y/N.", she said, nodding at you while smiling.

"Glad you do, Jihyo.", you smiled at her too.

"Hehe... cmon let's go and see what's up in your mind.", then you and her went to the door to go outside of the apartment. Nobody's out so that means you and her are free to do this one with no one might gonna see.

You stood in front of the parking lot where a spot is empty. Jihyo is beside you. You took the magic notebook and then hold it along with the ballpen on your other hand.

You started to write a word in it with Jihyo taking a peek at what you're writing. "So what are you gonna write? Car? Ooh great.", then a red Ford Territory car slowly appeared in front of you two.

"Damn, that worked!", you exclaimed. You are gasping at how cool it is to finally have the dream car in front of your eyes and most importantly, it's all yours. "Well, that would do. Wanna go out with me? I can drive though. I learned it from one of my previous job.", you asked her.

"Where are we going?"

"Somewhere where we can enjoy.", you patted both sides of your thighs. "Ever heard of mall or park or something.", you asked her.

"I may be 10,000 plus years old, Y/N but ofcourse I'm updated of what upgrades are happening in every generation so yes.", she crossed her arms then nods.

"Then let's go!", you opened the door for Jihyo which she entered first then you followed after as you went through the other door." It's weekend anyways so I planned to spend my time with you instead. I just... don't want you to be bored being inside of that teapot so yeah, we're gonna have a trip then.", you said while pointing at the magic lamp being held by Jihyo.

"W-with me?", she asked you with her puppy eyes. You saw that and yes it was so adorable. "Who am I not to oblige my master, I accept.", she accepted it exhnaging smiles at each other before you start the engine of the car to drive away onto your destination.

(7 HOURS LATER, AT Y/N'S ROOM, SATURDAY EVENING)

You two just arrived back at the apartment after going to the mall, amusement park and at the seaside.
You two really had fun, with all the laughers you two gave at some moments.

But not only that, there was also some sweet and soft moments you two unintentionally and unexpectedly had.

Like for example, you nearly slipped after not being able to see the wet floor at the mall. Jihyo reacted quick and pulled you back using her magic so you had control once again on your feet, standing up properly once again but the force was too strong that it you bump at Jihyo.

You reacted quick also and then you hold her at her waist, preventing her to be one to fall to. That made your bodies being too close at each other, her body pressed against yours with her hand touching your well built chest. After realizing it, both of you slowly looked at each other as something new was forming up inside your bodies that targets the heart the most. Both of you just admiring at each other's faces until a voice from the speakers of the mall made you two woke back up from the real world, snapping back each other's senses.

The two of you looked away at each other, having some time to get rid of the blush you two had on your cheeks before chuckling it out after.

That was not only the sweet moments you two had. Others happened during your shopping with her at the department store, playing games at the arcade, watching a movie with her and many more.

"Thanks for the time, Jihyo. Did you have fun?", you asked Jihyo who placed the lamp on the table.

"Ofcourse, I do! It was like... the best moment I ever had in my life so far!", she said while giggling and making a simgle jump of glee.

"We're just the same, Jihyo. I had a great time too.", you nodded with a smile. "So uhm... by the way tomorrow... I'm ready to give my last wish.", you said, snapping you finger as you remembered it.

"Sure do! I'm always ready to grant what ever that last wish would be.", Jihyo said, grinning which shows her cute pink gummies.

"Goodnight, Jihyo.", you said after turning off your phone.

"Goodnight, Y/N!", she greeted back at you before she transforms back into ger Genie form as she returns inside her magic lamp. You on the other hand, went inside your bedroom to sleep.

(THE NEXT DAY, SUNDAY NOON AT Y/N'S HOUSE)

"Now, what is your third and final wish, Y/N.", she asked you. You released her out of the magic lamp about 5 minutes ago after taking your lunch.

"You will be gone after this, right?", you said. There was no upward curve can be seen on the side of your lips as you were just all serious.

"Y-yes... and I gotta need to find a new master.", Jihyo said, frowning. Yes it was so heartbreaking for her to leave you since she's really enjoying being on your side as her mas- no scratch it- as your very first friend.

"You don't have to."

"What?"

"Remember yesterday at the mall when I told you to buy things that you may want?", you asked her and she just answered you with a nod. "Clothes, accessories anything but you were refusing because why would you need it if you were still a genie and you can't stay longer being out of your lamp?"

"Y-yeah.", she answered confusedly. She knows what you're saying but she doesn't get what you're pointing at.

"Guess what, I meant something on that, because today... it will all makes sense now.", you exhaled heavily then gave her a smile that might show her that she's definitely gonna love what you're about to do right now.

"W-what are you trying to-"

"Genie.", you still said her original name since you thought that maybe the wish won't work if you stated the name you gave to her instead. "My third and final wish is that I wish...

I wish Genie to be freed from her curse.", Jihyo heard that, making her eyes widened in shock. Her figure starts to let out some bright and blinding lights as she went smaller and smaller until the red smoke finally disappears, transforming and leaving her into her human form which just the same as what you saw yesterday.

"You told me you wanted to be set free, right?", you said to Jihyo who still can't believe what she's feeling and seeing right now. She don't feel any magic within her, just all normal... like a blood running through the entirr body of a regular human being. "I just don't want to let you being the only one here who helps and make someone happy you know?", you shrugged.

"I want to do the same, and I want to make sure that it will be unforgettable, just like what you did to me.", you said to her in a bragging way.

"I- Y-Y/N... you... you set me free?", she said even if her voice is now cracking due to the emotions starting to affect her. As she finally can't control her, she ran onto you, giving you a crushing hug while burying her face onto your shoulder. "Thank you... thank you so much, Y/N. ", she said in a muffled tone, you can feel that your shirt is getting kinda wet due to her tears staining it, but you didn't mind it.

"You won't suffer being a slave or a servant now, Jihyo.", you said to her while looking at other direction. "You can now do everything you want to do in freedom.", you gently stroked her curly long hair. The two of you went silent, as all you can hear was just her sniffs. You broke it when you asked her something.

"How does it feel?"

"Surreal.", she lets go of the hug, wiping her tears. "I still can't believe it. After thousands of years, I am now once again a human."

"I promise you that starting today, every moment we spend together will be all worth it as a payback from all the time wasted and lost in the span of your life because of your curse.", you hold both of her shoulders and made her look at your eyes focusedl as you leaned you face a bit closer to her. "Like what I said, Jihyo... you deserve it.". She just gave you a warm and thankful smile before she went again to hug you which you accepted.

(2 WEEKS LATER, WEDNESDAY EVENING AT Y/N'S HOUSE)

2 weeks had passed and Jihyo is now living with you. You also let her explore the outside world too, she started to make friends and hell you even had additional ones too. It's actually a bit funny to you that all of your new friends are girls, they were 8 actually.

She also learned some things which she can use as a skill or a talent.

It feels so good really and you were thankful to Jihyo so much that she's giving more blessings in your life.

The owner of the apartment also learned that you have another one living with you now. The consequences for that is your rent will be doubled and being a secretly rich person now that was not a problem to you.

And also, each day and night you two are being together, your feelings for Jihyo keeps on increasing.

Yes, you were starting to like Jihyo even more until it reached to the point that you declared it as love now. No more explainations needed, just cmon... isn't everything she's doing for you are not enough to make you fall in love with her?

Right now, you were taking a break from studying for your upcoming semester examination and then your habit of overthinking strikes you again.

"I'm a bit nervous. What if I fail the examinations tomorrow?", you asked nervously as you keep on walking back and forth while shaking your body in tense. Jihyo is just following you with her eyes while she's drinking orange juice.

"You won't be, okay? Just focus and think of anything that is important to you. I'm sure you'll get motivated to pass it.", she said after sipping the last amount of orange juice in the glass. She stood at walked towards you, making you stop walking as she held both of your wrists.

"I believe in you, you can do it Y/N. I can clearly see you studying hard for this. You have my support.", she gave you an encouraging smile while carefully shaking your arms to strengthen you up. You just smiled at that face who makes your day complete and all energized.

"Thanks, Jihyo. Appreciated it.", you nodded, giving her a thankful smile.

"I know you would.", she lets out a gummy smile and all you had to do is try to breathe normally so that your heart could calm down quick from melting.

(5 DAYS LATER, MONDAY EVENING AT A RESORT IN SEOUL)

You passed your examination, which making your teacher so proud of you and also surprised at the same time that you switched all your grades this time from C and D to A and B. Not only her was impressed but also your classmates, your friends and most importantly, Jihyo.

As a celebration, you decided to do it on your birthday which is today. You brought Jihyo to a luxurious resort and went swimming, had some top notch dishes, took pictures of you and her and many more.

You can't even count how many times you froze when you looked at Jihyo' pictures. She just look so damn perfect in your eyes.

Tonight, you and her are just sitting on the sand, with the water flowing repeatedly on each other's feet. You just gave her some flowers after writing it on your magic notebook. She was touched ofcourse, but that was unexpected for her from you to do that.

"How's your birthday today? Did you enjoy?", Jihyo asked you while she's staring afar.

"Indeed I am. This is the first time I celebrated my day as special as what I expect it to be.", you said to her, giving a satisfied smile.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Go ahead."

"There will be a time that... you need to go away from me, right? ", she looked at you. Her words sounded so sad which made you turn at her too with worriedness on your face as you saw Jihyo frowning.

"Hey, what's with the sudden change of mood? Why did you ask?", you pulled yourself closer to her to focusedly check her.

"I'm sorry it's just... I can't get it out of my head thinking that you need to continue living your life with the dreams you want to achieve, and I'm just your friend Y/N.", she lowered her head. You just watched her as she continues to speak. "You will find somebody that will be on your side forever. Have a wife, a family. A job. Those things you can live until your last breath. And you know I need to do the same but I don't know what to do yet."

" We will go on separate paths one day... but there's this feeling inside of me that's preventing me from letting go. You meant so much to already, Y/N. I don't know how am I able to find someone who can surpass everything you did for me.", she said while she's intertwining her fingers. Her curly long hair is joining the wave of the cold wind, making her sad face even more visible.
