A few hours later…
Y/N’s POV
I returned after finishing my work and headed straight to my bedroom. Eunseo was sitting on the bed reading the encyclopedia with the letter S. Greeting her, she greeted me back.
“How is the reading?” I asked her.
“I… am begging to understand information… but I do not understand,” she said.
This made me ask her what she wanted to understand. Giving me a confused face, she asked me why she was here. Sitting next to her, I explained to her that I wished her to be here with me. My explanation made her ask me why. Her asking why made me feel very worried but I decided to tell her that I wanted her. Eunseo still gave me a confused face, telling me she was Eunseo which she was sure of. I smiled, telling her that her existence was important and to trust me.
“Trust you?” she asked.
I nodded her head and gave her a hug. I could feel her hug as I told her that she looked cute. She did not give any response as I told her to follow me for dinner. She nodded her head but before we could go downstairs, Ziyu came to me. I was only now getting a proper look at this Ziyu. First I noticed her face, that she was basically identical to Tzuyu from Twice, but with blue hair? And….fox ears? I examined the strange grey armor she wore, covered in random bits of tattered cloth, two katana swords, and…nine tails in the same color as her hair.
“What…what are you?” I asked, unsure what else to even say.
“In your world I am called a Kitsune, but we have been called many names.”
“Oh” I sort of understood “We have legends about them here..”
“Many universes do.” She nodded “Although they often fail to fully grasp what we are.”
“You came from another universe?” I asked, fairly certain the answer was yes.
“Yes I did. Because I heard Riven’s voice. And you were the one who answered.” She said sternly “Like a fool.”
“Wait so what exactly are you?” I was not yet sure.
“I am a Kitsune by creation. A creature considered a god to many. I was created thousands of years ago, my kind exists because of a clashing of cosmic forces. But I transcended even my birth form, I am by choice a Starborn.”
“Starborn?”
“I am one who travels across universes, bearing great power. It is my duty to protect the stars.” Ziyu clearly thought very highly of herself.
The way she spoke made me chuckle, only for her to ask me what was so funny. I shook my head, as she pulled me aside.
“Anyway, what did Eunseo say to you?” she asked.
“Well, not much. She keeps asking questions which are kinda annoying if you ask me,” I said.
“I would suggest you to be more careful.” She gave me a warning.
“I will. Could you please stay here? Just in case.”
Ziyu nodded her head, telling me that Queen Mara would also be around to help understand the situation.
“Thanks,” I said, looking at her body from top to bottom.
“As far as I and Mara are concerned, Riven, the one you wished to is dead. Even at death, her spirit granted you a wish,” she warned, giving me quite the fierce look.
What Ziyu said surprised me but she could tell I was not serious. She told me that I do not comprehend how powerful an ahamkara was. I nodded my head and asked for an explanation.
