In this post, I’ll be reviewing a manhwa I read a while back called “You Can't Kill Me: The Secret Bride of the Black Wolf” (Webtoon really need to work on their titles coz the title for this Manhwa was so long I could barely remember it for the life of me)
So you know these type of people who have a crush on someone or has feelings for someone. But instead of confessing like a normal person, they just assume there’s something going on between them and their crush and act like petty jealous Jezebels the moment their crushes are with other people.
And Danhui, the second female lead and villainess is a cautionary tale on what happens when you ASSUME a person is interested in you just because they're treating you with the bare minimum of kindness WITHOUT getting confirmation or talking about it.
Listen, I get that Danhui has a rough life after she was sold off by her own family and had been abused at the brothel she worked at before Hwita, our ML, found her and took her in to be his kisaeng (I think that's how you spell it). And she's not wrong for developing feelings for him coz you can't help who you fall for and love. Not to mention Hwita was the first person who showed her genuine kindness.
HOWEVER
The moment you see yo man crush taking an interest in another sistah that's not you, that should be a clear indicator that the mutha fucka ain't feeling you like that. It sucks and obviously hurts, but that's life.
But instead of taking the L, and moving the fuck on, this heifer tried to humiliate Yeonwu, our MC, paid some street mutha fuckas and SA her.
Not to mention this PSYCHO laced Hwita’s tea with an aphrodiac so she could sleep with this nigga. GIRL THE DICK CAN NOT BE THAT GOOD THAT YOU HAVE TO DRUG THE OWNER OF SAID DICK.
And when Hwita caught on to her wanting to drug him he read her to filth. And what’s crazy thing is he KNEW that she had feelings for him but chose to ignore it. That wasn’t his business. And he straight up told her that he never lead her on and that he took her in because of her talent. Not because he was into her.
And all this dumb coocoo for coco puffs dunderhead confessed her feelings right at the moment Hwita sensed that she did something to his tea as a desperate attempt for mercy talking about "I wasn't thinking. Forgive me just this once."
Um no bitch. You knew EXACTLY what you was doing. You planned to drug this with the intent to RAPE HIM and brag about it to Yeonwu like "See? He wants ME. He slept with me. Not you. You're nothing. What him and i have is special." You sick twisted psycho.
Ain't no way he was forgiving you for attempted sexual assault and rape, hoe. You're a danger and threat to him and his and his woman’s safety. So he acted accordingly.
Not only that, she barged into Hwita's home uninvited, harassed Yeonwu, and slapped her across the face when she called her out on her bullshit. And my girl Yeonwu rocked her shit with that clean right hook! (Fuck around and find out bitch).
Yeonwu said it best. Danhui doesn't know what true love is. I don't think she even loves Hwita as much as she likes to believe she does. She's possessive and clinging on to that one act of kindness after being treated horribly.
And Danhui ended up losing her status and position as a kisaeng OVER DICK.
You’d think this would be the last time we see this bitch.
WRONG.
Danhui hired some thugs to ambush Yeonwu's carriage and tried to kill her. Yeonwu almost accepted her fate but then she was out heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell naw, I have maid bestie and my boo thang waiting for me. I'm staying alive bitch.
So Yeonwu hides but not for long, Danhui finds her in her fox spirit form and gets ready to pounce kill our girl. And guess who stops her.
Hwita.
Danhui runs to an edge. So she got nowhere else to run. And Hwita is there with a death glare.
And this bitch was like: welp. Looks like it's the end for me. But it doesn't matter. It wasn't done out of survival. I'll be happy to die by your hands. That's my final wish.
And Hwita is like: why should I.
Danhui is shocked and is like: you must despise me but--
And Hwita is like: despise you? Me despising you? Hell naw. You hardly ain't worth despising or to be despise. I'm just pissed that you, the vermin I pitied, took in, gave a place as a kisaeng because I was impressed by her talent after teaching her, dared to put hands on my woman. I ain't got no interest in taking yo life.
