Text Message Fic Tutorial

Aight, so you can do whatever you want with the formatting for whatever fic or idea you’re writing about, but here’s what I did for “Spring Arrives Anyway”:

First, I start with some text aligned in the center to serve as a header. In SAA, I put the dates, if you wanted to do like a groupchat name or something, that can be done. Be creative! or not idc

For gray text bubbles, from top to bottom, it’s the name, the text bubble, and then the time sent. While not necessary, I typed the name in “Small” text since I think it looks better. If you type the name, hit enter, and then write the text bubble, you’ll end up with this awkward space in between like this:

To avoid this, write out the text after the name, highlight the text, and then hit “Chat Bubble (Receiver)”. If done correctly, it’ll look like this:

After that, hit enter, change the text to “Label”, and write whatever time you want underneath it. The whole thing, if done correctly, will look like this:

For multiple messages from the same character, it’s as easy as having chat bubble enabled, hitting enter, and then writing another text.

For the blue text, it’s essentially the same process, just make sure that the name and the time are aligned to the right. “Chat Bubble (Sender)” is automatically aligned to the right.

It take a bit of tinkering with (Formatting SAA from the original doc to fanprose was hell), but it’s worth it in the end!
