I walked home slowly taking in the cold morning bite.
Everything looked the same, but everything felt different.
It wasn’t long after the door clicked shut before I heard her walk up behind me.
Arms crossed.
“Should I work on my best man speech?” she joked.
“Emi, I–It’s not like that....” I tried to move around her.
“Nope, don’t do that.”
“Do what?”
“Hide, deflect, pretend you don’t know what this is.”
“You don’t get to do that, not anymore.” She continued.
“We, well we… We just enjoyed each other's company.”
The look she gave me tells me she's unimpressed.
“OK, I intended to just hang out like the last few nights.”
“Oh yeah? You almost kiss everyone you hang out with?”
“That's not–”
“No, no, keep going. I love how platonic this sounds.”
I eyed her, she wasn’t going to back down.
“I…we… we kissed.”
“Finally.” She said, uncrossing her arms.
“We didn’t do much, just had dinner, watched some TV. She started to fall asleep so I took her to her room.”
“What else?”
“She asked me to stay… In her bed.”
Emi’s eyes narrowed.
“We just fell asleep!”
She paused.
“You’re not describing normal behavior. You’re describing a relationship.”
I just stared at her.
“But it’s complicated. She’s an Idol. I’m her Director. We shouldn’t. We can't."
“Alright. Then look me in the eye and say you don’t want her.”
I couldn’t.
My eyes faltered and shifted to the ground.
She stayed quiet for a moment.
“Think about what you want, what you’re willing to give.”
“And make sure to talk to her about it, no more hiding.”
Mina’s apartment: later that day.
Y/N’s POV
The work day passed quickly but I left the office a little earlier than I wanted to. It was still a light outside.
I stood there in front of Mina’s door, overnight bag on my shoulder feeling a little heavier than what was inside.
I punched in the code Mina text me earlier. She did say just come in whenever I finish.
I walked into the space, it was exactly the same. She wasn't in the entryway and I couldn't see her in the living area.
“Mitan?”
“In here.” she answered from her room.
“What are you doing?” I asked, standing in the door frame.
She was arranging some clothes around her dresser.
“Clearing out this drawer.”
“Oh, why?”
“For you!”
She looked at me beaming.
I was touched
“Mina, I–”
