Fairy tales. That’s all they are to some people, but for you, it’s your life. The first time you felt the effect of the full moon on your body, amazement hit at how strong you felt. Being a werewolf for some was a horrible thing, but you were proud to be in one of the last few packs in the world. Not only that, you were the son of the Alpha getting ready to take his place.
Currently, you were on your way to your pack’s meeting. This one was a surprise meeting for everyone, so you had no time to change into formal wear. Your clothes were just simple sweatpants and a shirt.
When you finally arrive at the building near the edge of the city you’re faced with several vehicles that fill the lot of the location. Arriving at the front door, the guards welcome you as you enter. With Werewolves being around for thousands of years, they made locations such as these. Meetings are called for several packs, in places quite old but sacred, with elegant marble and stone all around.
As you walk through the giant hall you find your parents up on the stand waiting. You can see that the Alpha and his family of the west pack haven’t arrived yet.
“Ah Daewon my dear son, you are here. Please sit down while we wait for the west pack.”
“Of course, but may I ask what the reason was for this meeting?”
“You will know in due time my dear son.”
Sitting down in your seat you see the doors open and the west pack Alphas walk towards the stand. As they walk towards your family, all of the other west pack werewolves stand and kneel in respect to their Alpha.
From behind the Alphas, you can see the outline of blue hair. You already know who it is and gets ready for a headache.
“Ah, Mr. and Mrs. Song. It’s good to see you here.”
“Mr. And Mrs. Lee. It’s very good to see you as well. I hope you are both doing well.”
Your parents both nod as they quickly wave for you to stand up and greet them.
“Mr. And Mrs. Lee, it’s very good to see you this fine evening.”
“It’s good to see you as well. We will leave you and my daughter alone for a second and then the meeting will start. Please excuse us.”
As both sets of Alphas step to the side your eyes meet with the girl in front of you. Her sharp eyes always amazed you. Even in her human form she still had her sharp wolf eyes, but those eyes quickly showed anger.
“Hello, Siyeon. I hope you are well.”
“Well well well. How are you, little wolf?”
“I told you to stop calling me that. I’m not a small wolf when I transform anymore!”
“It’s just fun to annoy you and your pathetic life.”
“I’m surprised you aren’t a witch with that attitude of yours.”
“Yah!”
Lee Siyeon. The woman you grew up with when you were both the next Alphas of your packs. Sure you also interacted with the kids from the south and east pack, but your parents being good friends made you two interact more. This girl was a thing out of a nightmare, someone that could cause you insomnia with the anger her mockery caused you.
Before you could even argue more your father stood in the front and spoke.
“My fellow werewolves. Our meeting will be starting soon so I would like to ask you all to take your seats.”
Following the example of others, you sit down on your seat and look towards the two Alphas standing side by side.
“We have called this meeting to inform you all that a large part of the west pack has fallen to hunters.”
Whispers filled the room, their eyes wide at what your father said.
“We made contact with the east pack and they are all in hiding currently, thus the reason why they are not in our presence.”
“Father. How did the hunters find the west pack? We as werewolves have all been hiding, and been doing a good job at it too.”
“They waited for the full moon when the west pack was forced to transform. Once they transform it’s easy to find them as wolves in certain areas are very rare.”
More whispers fill the room. Looks of worry plaster all over everyone’s faces until Mr. Lee speaks up.
“Because of all that is happening we called this meeting. We have come up with a plan to help save the west pack. My dear daughter and Daewon; please come up here next to us.”
You aren’t quite sure why Siyeon and yourself were called up, but you still went up and stood by your parents. Your father grabs your hand and pulls you closer to Siyeon as her father does the same.
“For the werewolf species to survive we will be uniting our packs through the marriage of our children!”
The words that left your father’s mouth shocked you both. You instantly yell in disagreement.
“What!?”
Yells fill the rest of the hall as the wolves start to argue about uniting the two packs.
“SILENCE!”
The whole room did that.
“As you know, the north pack always could transform into a wolf at any time, as well as not having to transform on a full moon. If both of our children marry and combine the packs the west pack will gain our ability to transform at any time.”
Now you understand why they want this marriage to happen. But that also means one more thing.
“Wait. For this process to work both me and Siyeon need to be Alphas of our pack, so does that mean—“
“Yes. At your wedding, both you and Siyeon will become the Alphas of the pack.”
Those words hit you quickly. You always were preparing yourself for this moment, and sure, you were excited about becoming the Alpha, but not like this.
“With all this said, the wedding will take place next week! We expect you all to be there to observe this special event!”
The room roars in excitement. The unity of the packs will increase the strength of werewolves in South Korea. You know you have no choice but to follow along with the plan. Looking over at Siyeon, you can tell she is also not a fan, but she nods in agreement.
“The details will be shared with you over text. Thank you for coming today!”
Everyone in the room then stands up and does a formal bow to the Alpha’s as they walk out leaving just Siyeon and her family with yours.
“We are sorry we didn’t let you know beforehand, but we knew you would try to argue against it. If we want werewolves to continue existing, this wedding needs to happen.”
“I understand father. I will do it and lead the packs into greatness with Siyeon.”
