“Mina, are you sure you’re okay?” Sana asked her, staring intently at the camera of her phone.
Mina was busy in the kitchen, but she still nodded. “Yeah, of course.”
Momo sighed. “I can’t believe you had to wait for two days to tell us that this was what happened to you guys during Christmas.”
“Chaeng did call Dahyun that night,” Nayeon chimed in. They noticed how Mina paused and then carefully looked at the screen.
“She did?” Mina sounded like she was scared to ask, or to know the answer.
“Yeah, it was literally right after everyone left our house.” Nayeon then looked at Sana. “Did Chaeng call Tzuyu too? I know you guys usually get on calls before you sleep.”
Sana paused, trying her best not to panic or blush furiously. Because she knew that they were busy doing other things and she felt so ashamed. “N-no. Tzuyu didn’t mention anything.”
Mina then raised her hand. “You don’t need to tell me. I’ll just ask her later.” She turned her head to check behind her and then back at the screen. “She went out with Yuki to buy the plane tickets again.” Then she looked at Sana. “Yours included.”
Sana smiled sweetly. “Thank you, Mitang.”
“Can I join you guys in Korea? But like… not at the wedding? Cause I know I’m not invited.” Momo pouted and that made everyone giggle. “God I hate my job sometimes.”
Mina pouted on the phone. “I know, sweetie. If only you can see us after the wedding cause I know we’re spending an extra week there.”
As the three were busy talking about plans in Korea. Sana couldn’t help but think about Tzuyu. She wasn’t going to lie when she said she had be over the moon to see her again. Especially after last night, with her heavy breathing and moaning over the phone, she felt a bit guilty for wanting to ravish the woman the moment they were going to get some alone time together.
There was a part of her that felt conscious about that night, however. She remembered her words clearly. Asking Tzuyu if they could make an exception and letting them get lost in their hidden desires. She was supposed to take it slow or help Tzuyu to get over the trauma she had.
A part of her felt like Tzuyu was going to suddenly tell her that she didn’t want that to happen again. Luckily, she didn’t say anything when they talked.
But the morning after, they were still on a call, Sana woke up first and the call did last through the whole night. So when she registered the noises coming from Tzuyu’s line, she heard the gentle sounds of her snoring, and it made her heart swell.
For something so mundane, it made Sana fall in love so fast. Tzuyu was in a vulnerable state, it was as if her unconscious self depended on Sana.
Sana wanted to hear it again. She never told Tzuyu about it because she knew how flustered the woman can get. So she was willing to stay up just to wait for Tzuyu to fall asleep again and wait for the sound of her snoring. It was comforting for Sana, it felt like she was protecting Tzuyu, and she really wanted to.
As she stared blankly at her friends talking, she suddenly received a text from Tzuyu, she immediately clicked on it and the message made her smile so wide.
8:47 AM
Tzuyu: Morning. :)
Sana: Good morning to you too. :)
Tzuyu: I just woke up and read your text from earlier. Can I call you after you talk to your friends?
Tzuyu: I wanna hear your voice again.
Tzuyu: If that’s okay.
Sana: Of course it is. One sec
“Why is Sana smiling like an idiot?” Nayeon suddenly asked and it made Sana snap out of it.
“It’s probably Tzuyu,” Mina gently responded, smirking at her friend.
“Just fuck each other already,” Momo blurted out immediately.
Sana rolled her eyes. “Stop, please. We’re talking about Mina.”
“No, we’re talking about something else,” Nayeon countered back. “You were quiet the whole time. Seriously though, how are you guys?”
“Yeah, I’m curious as well,” Mina chimed in.
“Are you guys really just taking it slow?” Momo asked with a wide smile on her face. “The last time you talked to me about her, it was when you two had that little weird fight.”
She sighed, she wasn’t sure about telling her friends about their sudden progress from nights ago and it would be weird to say it happened on the night of Mina’s fight with her brother.
Sana hummed, leaning her cheek on her palm, but when she remembered the look of Tzuyu’s face when she opened the gifts or the sound of her voice and the snoring, she smiled widely again.
“We made up and we know we like each other.” Then she traced her finger on the sheets of her bed. “And it’s been going well. I just feel bad sometimes because you can see what her ex did to her.”
Mina nodded. “Yeah, sometimes I would catch her in the backyard and just stare at nothing.” Then she looked at the camera. “Chaeng said she’s a really quiet person, and I’m not sure how quiet she was. But she was definitely more timid than me. And that says something.”
“Oh, she definitely is like you, Mitang,” Nayeon then said. “I mean, if you’re in a group of friends with Chaeng, Jeong and Dahyun, she’s the friend that just watches the chaos ensue.” Then she started biting her lip. “But when the Se-Ri happened, she just shut down. It was like talking to an empty vessel.”
“But I’m sure her time with Mina and Chaeyoung made her feel better?” Momo asked, trying to be a part of the conversation. “I mean, she was blessed with the presence of Miss Minatozaki. Who wouldn’t be happy about that?”
Sana rolled her eyes again. “Stop that.” Then she sighed again. “But I have to admit, seeing her try her best to be better is really heartwarming. She’s such a soft soul.”
“You sound like you’re in love with her,” Nayeon blurted out.
Sana paused, Mina as well. But that didn’t go unnoticed by the other two friends. Momo threw her hand up to her mouth. “Oh my god. Are you?”
“Are you?!”
Sana couldn’t stop blushing, covering her face with her free hand. “I don’t know! Maybe?” Then she dropped her face on the bed and let out a low groan. “I hate this.”
“Is she fucked?” Momo asked the others.
Mina shrugged and Nayeon just nodded. “She probably is.”
“Does Tzuyu know?”
Sana shot her head back up. “Of course she doesn’t!” She started chewing on her bottom lip. “We just started and we’re not even official. I don’t want to scare her off by telling her that I’m in love with her.”
“Wow,” Momo breathed out. “When was the last time you were in love with someone?” Then she paused and her eyes widened. “Is this the genuine, romantic kind of falling in love? When was the last time that happened?”
“Guys, don’t be mean,” Mina said, then she whipped her head behind her. “Oh, Chaeng and Yuki are home. I’ll call you guys later?”
