"My Ear's Candy" | Nayeon x Jeongyeon

"Are you sure about this?" Jeongyeon asked as she walked, her hands grasping the straps of her bag wrapped over her shoulders.

"Mmmhhhmmm," her bestfriend Nayeon replied with a humming sound as a substitute to "yes." "I have to accomplish this; I can't let anyone pass me before it's too late."

"That makes sense," replied Jeongyeon. "I mean, you're practically falling in love with the hottest dude on campus," she said, pointing to the person next to her.

Nayeon reddened in response to Jeongyeon's description of her crush, and the latter was not pleased. For her, an image of that guy came in her mind after she stated what she did.

"There are reports that someone is making a move for him, and I'm scared that someone might have him in an instant, which is why I'm doing this," she groaned.

"Anyway, good luck, unnie. You can do it. You have my support, you know that." She patted her bestfriend on the shoulder before pulling her bestfriend closer to her and giving her a side hug.

"Of course I do, you're such a supportive bestfriend to me regardless." Nayeon gazed up to Jeongyeon, and the b-word reference pricked her heart. If only she could just get away from this reality and start over with the one she truly desired.

"And that's why I'm so lucky to have you.", Jeongyeon can't help but to feel touched at Nayeon's appreciation for being on her side.

"If you only know how much I am too Nay, more than that."

"The same as you, unnie," Jeongyeon said with a heartfelt smile. Jeong could only react in astonishment at her cute this woman she has in her arms right now as the oldest merely grinned at her.

"Now leave, you're going to be late for class." Nayeon then lets herself fall into Jeongyeon's snuggle.

"See you later, ostrich!" she says as she takes a step forward toward her classroom, waving her palms at the younger.

"You too, granny!", Jeongyeon jokingly said with smug on her face.

"HEY!", Nayeon shouted, giving her friend a 'what did you just say?' look, placing her fists at her waist.

"Hehe sorry, I mean... bunny.", Jeongyeon scratched her nape, acting like she regretted what she said but to be honest she does like teasing her friend.

Her crush.

The woman she's loyal with.

Even if she's getting hurt having her eyes locked at someone else to find love, not hers.

Nayeon gave her a smirk before facing back at her direction, now about to enter her room.

"She's so cute.", that's the only thing Jeongyeon can say. She sighed before heading to another direction leading her classroom.

(3 HOURS LATER, AT THE CAFETERIA)

Jeongyeon spends her breaktime having lunch at the cafeteria with her seven other female classmates. They cannot, however, be compared to how close she is to Nayeon.

"I'll be right back," Momo said as she rose from her seat, picking up her empty bowl.

"Wait, you're ordering again?" Sana exclaimed, raising her head to look at the Japanese eating machine.

"It was like... the ninth bowl she had," Dahyun added, blinking quickly to see if what she was seeing was genuine.

"You girls still amazed by her ability?" Jihyo, the group's mother, remarked, lifting an eyebrow.

"What I can't blame her for is that the canteen's tteobokki is just so amazing," Jeongyeon said, taking another mouthful of that single piece of rice cake coated in red sweet and spicy sauce.

"Is Nayeon unnie coming? We're halfway through our lunch and she's still not coming," Mina inquired, staring at her watch after wandering her gaze to the table where her friends' meal was laid.

"Yeah, kinda strange she ain't joining us this time since we know she always eats with us right?" replied Chaeyoung, their smallest yet cutest and beautiful friend of theirs, after taking a sip of her strawberry milk.

"I don't know either. I'm truly frightened now," Jeongyeon replied, tapping her fingers on the table and looking out the canteen door.

"You can check her now if you want, unnie. We're anxious too," Tzuyu, the youngest but most mature member of the group, stated, to which the others nodded in agreement. Tzuyu then pointed to the door and said, "Oh speaking of Nayeon-noona..." Jeongyeon noticed it in an instant as well, and what she did next was lightning fast. She rose from her seat to approach her best friend.

"Hey Nay, come on join us we've been waiting for- Your face looks blank," Jeongyeon stated after noticing something on her body that causes her heart to beat irregularly. "Oh no. Did he-."
 Nayeon only frowned and nodded. Her lips begin to pout and twitch slightly. She knows Nayeon so well that she can sense she is about to cry.

"Sshhh... let's go somewhere no one can see us." She grabbed Nayeon's arm and pulled her along with her to wherever she was heading.

Nayeon's tears eventually fell once they reached the rooftop, and she covered her eyes with her fists. Jeongyeon drew her in for a hug.

"So what happened?"

"I-I was too late, Jeong. Way too late. He's now dating someone. I just found out about it weeks ago," Nayeon sobbed. Jeongyeon was simply letting it all out, pressing her smooth back on the fabric of her uniform.

"So what they're doing these days here on campus is they're just lowering it down?" Jeongyeon noticed Nayeon's head move like a nod. She took it as a 'yes,' and knowing that this bunny had just endured heartache from someone she didn't have a shot with, Jeongyeon held her bestfriend even tighter.

"Here, release it all, Nayeon. I won't bother. Don't worry, maybe you'll get a chance at someone. There's more out there. You'll never know if that person is just too close to you unless you observe well.", Jeongyeon whispered very near to Nayeon's ear, wanna make her remind it.

They both ended the hug but Nayeon's fists still ain't going out from her precious face, wiping all the tears that makes her look messy. Jeongyeon helped her make it all disappear and dry by wiping it using her own scarf.

"Yeah you're right, but it will take me some time to recover Jeong."

"Then take it and I'll be there by your side as always Nay.", Jeongyeon gave Nayeon an assuring smile, wiping one last teardrop on her face using her thumb. She just smiled back again, wanting Jeongyeon to know that everything is gonna be alright again to her.

This poor girl needs someone to for her to lean with, and she's the best option right now so what she needs to do is she needs to do her best to ease her pain and help her stood back up again then find somebody to love.

"I hope you notice me.", Jeongyeon said to herself through her mind as she looks at this alluring woman in front of her that even the tears can't ruin her beauty.

(FRIDAY, EVENING AT THE MALL)

Nayeon invited Jeongyeon to a nearby mall after the class for three reasons. First, they want to take a breather from how difficult the lessons and activities are to understand and answer to. Second, they want to have fun because it's the weekend and there are no classes tomorrow. Third, she's about to get her hair trimmed in a salon, much to Jeongyeon's surprise.

"Was this the effect of getting a heartbreak to your crush?"

"Correction: it's only an ex crush now. I don't like him anymore.", Nayeon pointed it out for her. "And no, I'm just curious how I might look later, maybe I'll regret it. I actually wanted to try this for a long time.", she said after flipping a page in a magazine.

"I am sure that you won't and I won't too. You can pull off anything anyways.", Jeongyeon shrugged.

"Thanks to my beauty.", Nayeon then flips her hair to the side like she's reay feeling it. Jeongyeon just clenched her teeth, awkward for her friend.

"Ofcourse you'll be disgusted.", Nayeon rolled her eyes. " Yeah yeah I know, Jeong.", it concerned the ostrich already thinking that Nayeon is sulking so she did something to erase it already.

"Only with how you brag it but hey you're speaking the truth okay? You really are beautiful.", Jeongyeon said, then she stared at Nayeon's goddess facial features that made her be so in love with her in the first place.

"Glad you agree too.", Nayeon smiled. Right at the exact moment, the hair stylist walks near to the two women sitting in the waiting area. Nayeon knew that she's the next one, she placed her magazine onto the couch, leaving Jeongyeon sitting alone still with her earphones.

"So uhm... wait for me will ya?"

"I will.", Jeongyeon nodded which is enough for Nayeon to be convinced. She followed the hair stylist after to start getting her new preferred hairstyle.

(ALMOST AN HOUR LATER)

"You ready?", Nayeon said in front of Jeongyeon who is standing while having her eyes closed, waiting for the surprise.

"Yup."

"Okay, here it goes.", then in a few seconds later, Nayeon poked Jeongyeon's arm to signal her to open her eyes. And she did, and oh God Jeongyeon felt like her world and the time stop rotating and moving.

What she just saw first after she opened her eyes is the figure of Nayeon with her new look. She cut her hair short, still keeping the brown color.

She felt like her heart is about to pop out of her chest. Her eyes widened at how gorgeous she looked.

"Well, how do I look."

"Hey Jeong, are you still there?", she snaps her fingers 4 times in front of her friend's stunned eyes. She was laughing at how hilarious Jeongyeon's face is while being unresponsive.

(Like this, lol.)

"Sorry... wow... y-you look... spectacular.", Jeongyeon gulped first then sighed a couple more times before trying to maintain her words aligned perfectly.

"Hehe thanks. Shall I keep this for long?", she asked her while letting her newly cut hair flow into her huge palm.

"I would love too. It suits you so well, Nay.", Jeongyeon just wants to shook her head multiple time to act normal because she keeps on pausing for seconds just to focus on Nayeon's heavenly new look.

She looks like she's a gift from heavens.

"Come on, let's find some restaurant next.", then she gave her money to the cashier to pay their service before going out of the salon.

While walking around the mall, they soon finally stopped in front of a restaurant that caught their attention. But, that's not only the one thing Nayeon made her stop.

She saw her ex crush eating with that rumored girl who's having a crush him which is unaware to others that the two are already a couple.

Nayeon just watched them from a distance, feeling jealous that she's not the one sitting in front of that guy she used to love.

Jeongyeon just looked at her crush asking what ifs in her mind about that guy, making her heart crack a lil bit.

"Oh... t-they're here too. I- should we st-"

"Nayeon."

"They were having a d-"

"Nayeon, eyes on me.", Jeongyeon just forcefully turned Nayeon's head to face her by cupping her chin to make her turn to her. That made Nayeon stare at her friend because their faces are a bit too close to each other.

"Please. Don't look at them, just focus on me instead okay?", Jeongyeon hummed and Nayeon just nodded. She can't respond because she doesn't know what she's feeling. Jeongyeon looked very hot when she did that, she thought to herself. "Let's find some other restaurant then. Leave them, don't be jealous, we're having fun too right? You have me.", she pointed to herself. Nayeon just nodded again.

That sweet words from her friend just makes her melt.

"Y-yes we are.", and then Jeongyeon reached for Nayeon's hand and intertwined it with hers as they find another restaurant to eat at. Nayeon just let herself follow Jeongyeon wherever she go.

While walking on the 3rd floor, they met someone on their tracks who is very familiar with the two.

"Nayeon?!"

"Jisoo!", then the two waved hands first before holding at each other's hand as they shaked it in the air happily.

"Hey guys! It seems like you two are on a date huh.", Jisoo smirked as she looked downwards. Nayeon then noticed that she was looking at her hand holding Jeongyeon's. She then immediately released her hand off of Jeongyeon and the latter just felt like the bunny's action stabbed her heart.

It felt like she won't have any more chance for her if ever.

Because what she just did, for her it's like she hated the idea of them two having a possibility to be as a couple.

"H-huh? N-no we aren't-", Nayeon said between her nervous chuckles. She then got interrupted by Jeongyeon who still feel hurt.

" Yeah, we just went out because she needed some haircut.", she lets out a forced smile.

"Oh I see, from the change of hairstyle.", the she traced Nayeon's head. " Wow, Nayeon you look great! Seriously, that must've be my favorite look of yours.", then she did a hand gesture of number three, pushing it forward and backward very little but fast.

" Told you. ", Jeongyeon teasingly bumped Nayeon's shoulder which the latter just grinned back, showing her bunny teeth.

"You two sure aren't? Because I ain't gonna lie you two look together so well. I honestly thought you two are a couple.", Nayeon became blank at her friend's statement. Even Jeongyeon who didn't expected what Jisoo just said. Did she and Jeongyeon really looked like that?

They looked like a couple?

Jeongyeon looked better when she's her lover?

Then why didn't her heart never set its attention to her, she thought to herself.

"W-we're just friends, Jisoo.", she just denied it and still tried to stick in the reality.

"Sure.", Jisoo just pretended like she's comvinced at Nayeon's answer. "But I won't be shocked if you two end up as together someday.", that made Nayeon's eyes wide open again. "Gotta go find Lisa now! Bye!", she bid her farewell which Nayeon and Jeongyeon waved their goodbye at Jisoo as she starts to walk away.

"Your friend sure is a shipper of us huh.", Jeongyeon said, placing her hands on her pockets as she laughed a little.

"Y-yeah I guess so.", Nayeon forcefully laughed because her mind still ain't processing that well after what she must heard. She isn't aware that she has a tint of a blush scattered around her cheeks.

"Is Jeongyeon the one f-for me?", she then asked to herself before proceeding back to their walk on searching for some place to eat.

2 WEEKS LATER, SUNDAY EVENING AT A VIDEOKE BAR)

What Jisoo said in that Friday 2 weeks ago invaded Nayeon's mind that she can't get over with it.

She can't believe it that she didn't noticed it by herself which is obvious for others to see. Why is she unable to have the same?

Now she finally had an answer to her questions weeks ago that why does her heart didn't felt something more for Jeongyeon.

It is because she chose to be blind and deniable for her not to observe if what Jeongyeon is doing to her will make her feel even more then just a friend to her... so how will it be possible for her to be in love with Jeongyeon then if that's what she's doing?

She then recalled every moments she had with Jeongyeon alone. With how she moves, how she speaks to her. All of it makes her really touched.

But she never looked at her more than just a friend because yeah she's more attracted to men.

Then suddenly the days passed, whenever she's with Jeongyeon it's like something has clicked into her.

That words Jisoo said to her, whenever she thinks of it; it felt... really good for her.

She even started to take whatever Jeongyeon does for her differently.

Her insides are now acting like she has butterflies flying all over around it.

Her loving actions, her sweet and caring words, she's taking it through her heart in a whole new level.

She even keep looking at herself and Jeongyeon being on her side.

She liked it so much. She feels like her heart thumping as fast as Lightning McQueen in Cars. She always blushes and feels awkward and shy whenever Jeongyeon's talking to her.

She keeps on denying that she won't fell in love with her bestfriend... with a girl like her too.

But at her state when she's with Jeongyeon. It's all too obvious now and she can't escape the truth that...

... she's starting to fall in love with Jeongyeon.

"Nayeon and Jeongyeon unnie, you're both next!", the loud squirrel shouted in the mic, gaining the oldest of the group's attention who is drinking a beer on a bottle and the second one who is eating some chunk of grilled beef.

"Looks like were getting a duet!", Jihyo shouted which is even louder than Sana who's already using a microphone as it echoed throughout the entire room.

Jeongyeon stood up from her seat and lend her hand onto Nayeon who just finished drinking her beer.

"Cmon, let's hit it and complete this dare now.", Nayeon just accepted Jeongyeon's hand and Jeongyeon pulled Nayeon into the center just near at the huge LED screen.

Dahyun and Chaeyoung handed them their microphones and the two maknaes sat at the couch after, leaving only the two of the oldest members in their group standing in the room.

Dahyun starts to play the next song in the reserved line-up on the monitor coming from the videoke songbook which is picked by Jihyo herself.

Then the title appeared on the screen. It shows "My Ear's Candy by Baek Ji-Young and 2PM's Taecyeon"

The song started and the two took their parts, Nayeon singing Baek Ji-Young's part while Jeongyeon did Taecyeon's lines.

The two performed so good that the chemistry between the two really showed. It even made the members squeal in happiness and in a teasing way that the two looked great together.

(Imagine them performing exactly like how they performing this in their concert last 2018.)

Aside from that, they are so amazed how Jeongyeon and Nayeon's vocals and dance movements blend perfectly
Even Jeongyeon too who looks at Nayeon like she's literally feeling it.
So not to waste her effort, she joined with the flow because why not? She likes it anyway, doing this with the one she adores the most.

At the end of their performance, Nayeon thought of a way to tease the other members more because she's liking it too. So she went closer to Jeongyeon and started to wrapped her arms around her neck and leaned her forehead against her.

Jeongyeon felt like her heart is going crazy. What's with Nayeon today and why is she really acting different these days, especially today, she thought.

She looked down a bit to have a glimpse of Nayeon's plump light red lips. It's pouting and Jeongyeon feels like the voice inside her head is telling her what she should do with this.

She wanted it anyways so she tried and didn't wasted to opportunity. As Nayeon removed her forehead to look very closely at Jeongyeon's magnificent face, Jeongyeon leaned even closer, making hers and Nayeon had a contact together.

She kissed Nayeon which lasted for like 5 seconds.

Nayeon just stood there in awe and in panic.

The other members even shouted in shock with their eyes about to pop out at how their opened it so widely. Their jaw even dropped at what they just witnessed.

Jeongyeon woke up back to her sense aftwr she released her lips to Nayeon's. She looked at her crush who had a disbelief look in her face, then she realized what she just did when she toured her eyes around the room, seeing the other members looking at them in pure shock.

Jeongyeon felt an intense embarassment so she whispered one last thing before going out of the bar.

"I got to go now, bye.", the rest didn't even followed Jeongyeon who just went away. After almost half a minute of silence, one of them decided to break the awkward atmosphere.

"WHAT JUST HAPPENED?", Momo questioned everybody.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW UNNIE.", Chaeyoung then followed Momo's reaction.

Meanwhile, Nayeon is still standing there, slowly moving again with her arms rising up as she placed the tips of her finger onto her lips.

"S-she kissed m-me..." , she said to herself in astonishment.

(MONDAY MORNING AT JEONGYEON'S HOUSE)

"Come in, sis.", Jeongyeon shouted a little louder to command the person outside of her door while she's preparing herself to go to school.

What she thought that it's her sister turns out to be Nayeon when she opened the door slowly.

As Jeongyeon rotated her body, she got frozen in her place, she looked away still feeling embarassed at her friend.

"O-oh... uhm..."

"Hi... sorry if I may looked unpatient coming here already.", Nayeon was waiting for her in her house but she decided to come already at Jeongyeon's to do what she planned to do. In fact, Jeongyeon actually planned not to walk through Nayeon to join her on going to school because she's tok ashamed at what happened.

"I-It's fine. You can sit there for a sec.", she offered Nayeon her bed as a chair for her to sit while she's spraying the perfume around her uniform.

"We need to talk about what happened yesterday.", Jeongyeon just gulped hard at Nayeon's being straightforward already. "What did you just do to me, Jeong? ", she asked her seriously but for Jeongyeon it felt like Nayeon is a bit mad at it.

"I'm sorry, Nay. I know that kiss is unexpected and irrelevant but... I can't help but to do it. I got carried on by the moment. If I made you uncomfortable, my deepest apologies. I will stay away for-", she was about to finish her words but Nayeon gestured her to stop by placing her hand in front of her.

" Don't. You don't have to. I-I understand okay?", she sighed. "I mean, we were drinking last night. Maybe you're just drunk-"

"Nay, I wasn't drunk. I know what I did and... I meant it."

"What?", Nayeon became puzzled so asked her. What is Jeongyeon pointing at?

"The kiss. I did it because... because I- I like you, Nayeon okay? For years now. If you were just talking about being impatient, well I do apologize for it too... because I can't help myself anymore to stand here doing nothing and just look at you find somebody new again which isn't... me."

I did it because I want you to realize how much I love you, Nay. Sure, my actions last night was like what I just described but... you were so beautiful in that night and I can't resist myself but to do what I had to do.

If you only know how much I want to wake up and open my eyes everyday, because what I was thinking the most is that I'll be seeing your face for the rest of the day and gave the sweetest words and moves I have in my pocket. You are the one who matters the most to me, Nay.

Do what you want, Nay. Have some distance for me, sure. I get it. In fact, you won't fall for the same gender as yours right? You're straight and I bet you were disgusted by the k-", Nayeon was enough of it. Jeongyeon successfully convinced her that she really has feeling for her and that Nayeon deep inside feel happy and also a bit shocked that her bestfriend likes her too.

Looks like being on Jeongyeon's side, everything she will experienced is just uncomparable than the others she once had through.

" You're right, I was straight... but now, I guess you just made me gay... for you, Jeong.", that made Jeongyeon gasp in silence. She can't believe this is happening. Her bestfriend is confessing her feelings too for her.

She just wished she didn't forced Nayeon to be like that so she's feeling a little bit guilty.

The kiss last night, I- I actually liked it because... I- I was falling for you t-too now Jeong. After I just realized how you and I look great together to other's eyes, I started to take everything you do for me differently, like when you're helping me to move on from him. It's not a friendship feeling, it was something more to me now.

Your sweet words I always liked about you that makes my ears candy, yes it makes my heart flutter but these days it blends with something that I should say... love. Then I finally made it clear to myself that yes, I am... I am indeed falling in love for you Jeong.", then Nayeon gave a large smile with her pinkish chubby cheeks slowly growing as she stretches the edges of her lips.

"And oh, I wouldn't mind having those sweet strawberry taste of your lips in mine again.", she bit her lower lip as she looked away, feeling shy at her bestfriend whom she is head over heels at. "Like I said, you made me gay for you. Take the responsibility for that.", she pretended like she's sulking so she pouted and then crossed her arms.

Then in a snap of second, Jeongyeon crawled onto the bed towards Nayeon. She cupped her cheeks and pulled, leaning her face closer to her until their lips joined together again for a kiss.

For the two of them, it felt magical, awesome and spectacular. The sparks inside their hearts were popping off very rapidly.

"Satisfied?", Jeongyeon then smirked, looking all over at Nayeon's crystal clear eyes.

"For now. I'll be needing some more next time.", she pinched Jeongyeon's cheeks, making the latter close her eyes for a second to endure the slight sting. "I love it just like how you use it to say sweet words to me."

"Thank you for this, Nay. I guess I can finally say that you're now my girl.", Jeongyeon then went to reach Nayeon's free hand and sandwich it with both of her hands.

"I'd say the same. You're welcome, my ostrich and...", she then frowned, making Jeongyeon got worried immediately. "I'm sorry. I didn't even know that I'm hurting your feelings."

"It's okay. Let's forget it all. Atleast it's all worth it because I have you now, and I love you Nayeon."

"I love you too, Jeong.", then the two had another quick peck on the lips.

"Alright we got to leave now. We're going to be late.", Jeongyeon then crawled off the bed to reach for her black shoes on the shoe rack.

"The girls will get really mindblown when they see us like this.", Nayeon then went off the bed too to check herself again in the mirror, chuckling at how hilarious the other might look later.

"Yeah, indeed.", and Jeongyeon starts to wear her shiny black shoes after.
