The past days felt like a blur to Minjeong. One day, she had been practicing with her friends and losing herself in her usual studies, and the other, it was already the night before the concert.
And honestly? She felt like dying inside.
The opportunity to perform again felt like a dream. A once in a lifetime chance, that she planned on wholeheartedly taking. Jimin and the others had done everything in their power to make sure this concert would go well after all, so she could not let them down.
But a part of her felt utterly afraid. The concert wasn’t what was scaring her though. Not at all.
The thought of playing in front of other people after what happened with her mother did. The sole thought of her mother was enough to create a small but growing sensation of stress and anxiety in the pit of her stomach.
What if she came again, and took her away from music? From her band? From Jimin?
Minjeong could not bear going through this another time. But at the same time, she knows that she can’t run away from her family forever. Because she will need to see them eventually again. For Christmas break that’s coming, and then for the winter break, and then for-
As she was about to swirl into her overthinking tendencies, Minjeong abruptly got cut by the sensation of her phone buzzing against her stomach. She grabbed it, and couldn’t stop a smile from forming on her lips when she saw who the caller was.
“Hello?”
“Minjeong!” Minjeong’s smile widened after hearing this voice she likes oh so much. “I hope I’m not disturbing you…”
Minjeong relaxed a little bit, and laid down on her bed, shuffling on her side. “It’s okay Jimin, you never bother me.”
Jimin chuckled. And gosh was this sound satisfying. “Sweet talker,” teased the older girl.
“Only with you.”
Was Minjeong being a bit too bold? Definitely. But for her defense, she blames it on her stressed-self!
Jimin paused a bit at her words, before timidly talking again. “A-anyways,” she stuttered. “Are you ready for tomorrow?”
Minjeong sighed. “Music-wise, I’m definitely ready, yeah.”
“And.. what about mentally?” tentatively asked Jimin.
Of course she knows. It was as if Jimin had a Minjeong 6th sense or something. How come she manages to reach out whenever Minjeong feels at her worst?
“I want to say that I’m fine, but that would be lying,” she started. She heard Jimin shuffle a bit on the other end of the line. “I’m honestly really stressed…” she sheepishly admitted.
“It’s normal Minjeongie. But we will be fine, okay? You’re not alone in this, I promise. We’re all here to support you, so if you need anything, don’t hesitate to rely on us!”
Jimin’s voice sounded like honey in Minjeong’s ears. And her words felt like a soft hug at the end of a long day. Comfortable.
They had only been talking for a couple minutes, but Minjeong’s nerves already felt way more at ease than they did when she was busy overthinking all by herself.
“Thank you Jimin,” she suddenly blurted out. For some reason, she felt the urge to thank the older girl. Not just for cheering her up now, but for everything she has done for her ever since they met.
Before meeting Jimin, Minjeong was mostly closed in on herself, with the only exception of a human’s soul allowed next to her being Yizhuo. But after her strange encounter with the other woman in the empty classroom, it was as if Minjeong’s life gained the colors that vanished from her life long ago.
Jimin brought warmth with her in Minjeong’s life. But she also showed her how it feels to be free to make her own decisions, to create and walk her own path. And she’s deeply thankful for that.
Minjeong takes a lot of pride in the person she is now. She knows she’s not the best version of herself yet, but in the matter of a few months, she feels like she has grown more than she did in the past twenty years of her life.
But Jimin also showed her how fun it is to actually spend time with other people, and how enriching it can be. And working together with others, with the three girls she proudly calls friends, has proven to be the most rewarding thing Minjeong ever experienced.
Maybe after falling for Jimin though, but this was a whole different experience. Because yes, she’s finally ready to admit it, but she’s completely heads over heels for the older woman.
At first, Minjeong thought that the weird tugs in her heart, and the urge her cheeks felt to burn whenever she was close to Jimin, were only due to some kind of admiration she feels towards the older girl.
There’s a lot of things to admire about Jimin after all! She’s hardworking, caring and incredibly kind. But on stage, she manages to be extremely reliable, skilled and fierce. A complete 360° from her usual dorky self.
Does Minjeong have a thing for gap moe? Most likely… Who doesn’t though?
The sound of Jimin’s soft chuckles pulled her out of her thoughts. “Hehe, I’m not sure what you’re thanking me for, but you’re welcome Minjeongie!”
Minjeong couldn’t refrain a small laugh from escaping her mouth. She felt way better now. Thinking about all of the things she endured to be where she is now, makes her feel a little proud. And knowing that she can count on her three friends makes her feel way more at ease as well.
“Let’s rock the stage tomorrow,” she calmly but firmly said. And she didn’t even need to see Jimin’s face to know that her expression was one of determination, mirroring her own.
“Hell yeah!”
***
The night before, Jimin and Minjeong had stayed on the phone until late, and ended up both falling into a deep and comfortable slumber together. In a way, it felt almost intimate to sleep “together like this, although they hadn’t been together physically. And the sole memory of it was enough to send Minjeong’s cheeks ablaze.
But it wasn’t what she should be thinking about at the moment! She was sitting right outside of the stage where her band would be performing in a couple minutes.
As usual, she was busy cleaning her guitar, making sure it would be perfectly shiny when the time to go on stage would come. Call it a pre-concert habit, but Minjeong found the action to be extremely effective to ease her nerves.
“Minjeongie?”
Minjeong whipped her head to the side, and looked at Jimin who had just called her. She tilted her head to the side, waiting for her friend to proceed. Jimin waved her hand in a moving motion, and called her over.
“We’re up next. Come here?”
The way Jimin had told her to come over felt weirdly… domestic? Maybe Minjeong is just a delusional freak, but the tone Jimin had used was way too warm for her to not overthink it. Is it the upcoming concert that’s making her daydream more than usual?
“Minjeongie?” called Jimin again, looking at her as if trying to decipher what Minjeong could possibly be thinking about.
Not wanting to make her wait any more, Minjeong quickly got up on her two feet, and joined Jimin’s side. There stood Yizhuo and Aeri as well, their hands already extended in front of them.
Aeri looked at each one of them, a hint of pride shining in her eyes. “We’re finally here again. We’ll rock this, okay girls?”
Yizhuo and Jimin cheerfully shouted back, while Minjeong merely nodded, as usual. But suddenly, it was Yizhuo’s turn to speak.
“Minjeong.”
Surprised to get called in a moment like this, Minjeong looked at Yizhuo, intrigued. For some reason, Yizhuo had a smile painted on her face. But it wasn’t her usual cheeky grin, far from it actually. This smile was a small and helplessly genuine one, which effortlessly betrayed all the affection she holds for Minjeong.
“No matter what happens on stage today, we’ll always have your back, okay? You can rely on us whenever you want. That’s what friends are for!”
Minjeong was a bit taken aback by this sudden oath of friendship. By this promise to take care of each other, and always have each other’s back.
However, Yizhuo, whatever her intentions were, succeeded in making Minjeong’s heart swell with a feeling she has come to develop more and more by spending time with her friends. Warmth.
Minjeong isn’t alone. She knows it.
She offered a soft smile back to Yizhuo. “Thanks Ning, it means a lot.”
And Yizhuo, being her usual self, snickered back. “Of course! Now tell me how amazing I am! C’mon, I’m waiting!”
Her words made the rest of the girls erupt into a vivid laughter.
“Girls? It’s your turn,” interrupted one of the students who worked backstage with them back during the college’s festival.
This time, it was Jimin’s turn to speak. “Alright then, are you ready?”
“Yeah!” shouted back the other three, including Minjeong. Now that she was mostly freed from her nerves, she allowed herself to be a bit more carefree.
Minjeong took a deep breath, as she watched her friends making their way towards the stage. No matter what happens there, she swears that she will never let go of music ever again.
No matter what, she will live her life.
With this mindset, she finally set a foot on the stage, and was surprised to see how many people showed up. The whole room was bustling with people, and all the seats were taken. Hell, some people were even standing!
Aeri looked behind her, and nodded in Yizhuo’s direction, to tell her they were ready. And without wasting a second, the Chinese girl started hitting her drumsticks together.
And just like how their first concert went, the four girls flawlessly played the songs they had shown last time. From Japanese band songs, to a Korean one and even a foreign one, the girls aimed to show the variety of their skills and genres to the audience.
And Minjeong must say that they seem completely hooked! She can’t really pay attention to their faces, because she’s so engrossed in her own world of music. But her ears can easily pick up the deafening cheers coming from the seats in front of her.
And after what felt like hours of concert, even though it had only been a couple minutes, the time to finally play Minjeong’s self written song was there.
‘Live my life’
Minjeong started strumming her guitar’s strings, as Jimin began to sing.
Bye bye boring,
Outdated mindset.
Say just be honest,
Don’t lie to yourself;
For this specific piece, since they had all composed it together, they decided to all take part in singing it. This song is not only Minjeong’s plea for freedom, but also their first shared project. And that alone is enough to make it special for every single one of them.
You and me;
It was Minjeong’s turn to sing now. And while she sang this specific line, she couldn’t help but to steal a glance at Jimin. However, this didn’t go unnoticed by Aeri, who smirked as she sang her part.
We just have different dreams;
As she sang the next lines, Minjeong couldn’t help but to think of her half Japanese friend. They hadn’t had the chance to really hang out together, just the two of them yet. But something about Aeri’s mere presence in their group makes the mood a comfortable one.
If Minjeong had to describe Aeri in one word, she would say that she’s extremely reliable.
But you, and me .
Keep believing;
For the first time since they started playing as a band, they had never sung all together at the same time. But during their practices, Jimin had brought up the idea of making the chorus a shared experience, by making them all sing at once.
I live my life,
Now I’m breaking the rules that hold me back.
Your boring mindset.
I live my life,
This is just the beginning,
I’m in charge.
I’m the protagonist of my own story;
And Minjeong finally understood why Jimin had made this specific request. When they all sung those meaningful lines together, Minjeong almost felt overwhelmed.
While the words themselves are strong, having them all sing it at once really made it all the more powerful.
It felt like Minjeong, who is screaming about wanting to live her life, and breaking away from the rules which always held her back, is not alone.
Having the voices of her friends surround her own felt grounding. Like the three other girls were helping her stand strong, and stood by her side in her quest of finding out about her own story.
Look forward to, live my life.
Freshly, live my life.
Oh powerfully, live my life.
Shout it out, live my life;
Minjeong delivered those lines as if she was pleading for an unattainable dream. But Yizhuo, who sang them along with her, helped her stabilize her own feelings.
Minjeong isn’t afraid anymore. And with Yizhuo, her best friend of forever by her side, she doesn’t fear anything.
As they approached the bridge of the song, Aeri stopped playing, and grabbed her microphone with both of her hands, as the melody momentarily stopped.
Time can’t be stopped, life’s too short.
No more, I don’t care.
Don’t hold me back;
And, with a delicate voice perfectly matching the bittersweet tone that Aeri had just used, Jimin flawlessly delivered her own lines.
There’s no right answer in life, you know best.
You just live your life.
I’ll live my life my way;
While saying this, Jimin stared right at Minjeong, and the younger woman could feel her heart tug at the sight.
With just a single glance, Jimin’s eyes managed to convey countless emotions. But the one that really stood out to Minjeong was warmth.
In Minjeong’s eyes and mind, Jimin is a synonym of warmth. She’s even the embodiment of the word itself, if Minjeong has to be honest.
Above the lyrics, Minjeong felt with this stare that Jimin was telling her to let loose, and to just trust herself with knowing how to live her own life.
Oh how little do you know that you’re the whole reason why Minjeong wants, and wishes to live her life right now, Yu Jimin.
And in this life, Minjeong plans on having Jimin stay by her side. As long as she’ll allow her to.
She couldn’t help but to sing her next lines with all of her heart, desperately trying to convey her rawest feelings through their shared song. And like the previous chorus, the girls wholeheartedly accompanied her.
I live my life. Now I’m not afraid.
Don’t hesitate,
Life is like a miracle.
I live my life, This is the real beginning;
I will be happy.
I’m the protagonist of my own story;
And right before the song came to an end, she locked eyes with Jimin again. Because the last lines would be delivered by the two of them. And obviously, Jimin being the one to share the end of the song with her felt all the more meaningful.
Look forward to, live my life.
Freshly, live my life.
Oh powerfully, live my life.
Shout it out, live my life;
Life.
With one last breath, Minjeong stopped playing, and raised her head towards the ceiling. She felt the adrenaline and emotions from the concert traveling through her body, and taking over her mind fully.
Physically, she felt exhausted. But mentally, she was restless.
This concert had been everything she imagined, and in the best way possible. She felt like the invisible chains that held her back finally and fully broke.
She felt free.
But soon enough, this sense of freedom was replaced by weight. And by weight, she meant a literal one. Multiple even!
Her friends all jumped on her, successfully tackling her to the ground. But Minjeong couldn’t find it in herself to be mad about it. She even started to laugh with them.
“I’m sure we look so ridiculous right now,” she said in between laughs.
Sadly, a student from the staff rushed towards them, and ushered them to leave, stopping their heartfelt and cliché moment. But the intervention made them laugh even harder, even though they did as told and made their way back to the backstages.
Minjeong felt so happy that she almost wanted to cry. However, when she walked back to retrieve her stuff in their green room, she hadn’t expected to see the one person she had been avoiding like the plague, standing in front of her, arms crossed and a frown painted on her face.
“Minjeong.”
What was her mother doing there? Did she come here to take her away from music again? From Jimin? What was going on? Was she here the whole time? What-
Before her mind could short-circuit any further, Minjeong felt a small and soft hand take her rough one. She didn’t even need to see who it was to recognize who it belonged to. After all, she had memorized this specific sensation, and it was basically engrained in her mind now.
Jimin tightened her grip on her hand, helping her feel grounded again. She softly whispered in Minjeong’s ear.
“It’s your last step to break free Minjeongie. You can do it.”
Minjeong took a deep breath. And after a few seconds of trying to calm herself, she finally looked at her mother, right in the eyes.
“Mom, I-”
As per usual, her mother abruptly cut her words. But for some reason, it didn’t sound as venomous as usual.
“You’re… better than I expected.”
Minjeong’s eyes widened at her mother’s words. She had expected heinous words, and maybe even insults towards her friends and even herself. But instead, she got a compliment on her music?
And apparently, her mother had noticed her surprise.
“I still don’t accept the fact that you’re… doing like your grandfather,” started her mother. But soon enough, a defeated look took place on her face. “But even if I tell you to stop, it’s too late, right?”
Minjeong straightened up, and tried to look tall and confident. She had to be sure of herself, or else her mother would not believe her. And Minjeong couldn’t afford to be separated from the one thing that she enjoys the most in her life.
“Yes,” she firmly said. “I love music more than anything, whether you like it or not. And I’m ready to do anything to not be kept away from it ever again.”
Her mother seemed slightly taken aback by her sudden confidence. But somehow, Minjeong could almost distinguish a glint of pride in her eyes. As if, among all of this mess, her mother was proud to see how much her daughter had grown.
And when her mother opened her mouth to talk again, Minjeong had expected her to address this look in her eyes. But instead, she said something completely unexpected, while looking at Jimin.
“Thank you for inviting me, young lady.”
Inviting her? Had Jimin really-
“I trust you to take care of my daughter.” And with that, her mother walked away.
At her mother’s words, Minjeong felt her cheeks burn. What does she mean by taking care of her daughter? Was it her mother’s way of giving Jimin her blessing or something?
Minjeong turned towards Jimin, who looked very much as red herself. And without a word, the older girl dragged her away from prying eyes, aka Yizhuo and Aeri who were cackling in the back.
“Where are we going?” asked Minjeong, all while panting from Jimin’s frantic pace.
“Where everything started.”
***
Jimin brought them back to the empty classroom, where they had crossed paths for the first time. And honestly, Minjeong really didn’t know what to expect.
A part of her wanted to believe that Jimin was going to address whatever had almost happened between them when they had been jamming together in the girl’s basement. But she shouldn’t be too delusional and get her hopes up. Maybe Jimin just wanted to explain what the deal with her mother was? Or maybe she wanted to point out parts of Minjeong’s sound that need to be improved, and just aimed to provide her some technical feedback…
“I’m so sorry for dragging you away like that…” suddenly started Jimin. The look on her face seemed almost… distressed? But Minjeong decided to let Jimin finish before interrupting her.
Jimin looked at her feet, and awkwardly shuffled. “I’m also sorry for inviting your mom like that… I totally overstepped, and I understand if you’re mad or something! But I thought that showing her how much fun you have on stage, and how much music matters to you could have opened her eyes. But again, I’m so sorry!”
Amidst her awkward ramble, Jimin didn’t even notice the tears that slowly rolled down Minjeong’s cheeks.
“Minjeong, are you okay?” Jimin rushed to cradle both Minjeong’s cheeks in her hands. And the feeling of Jimin’s soft hands on her skin made Minjeong cry even harder.
“Gosh I’m so sorry I-”
Jimin looked utterly panicked and honestly, Minjeong could not blame her. She herself doesn’t even know why she started crying like that.
When Jimin mentioned directly inviting her mother, to hopefully make her change her mind, Minjeong felt her heart swell from a lot of different emotions at the same time.
At first, she felt embarrassed. Embarrassed to have dragged Jimin in her mess, to the point that she felt the need to go inside the dragon’s den, and confront her mother, who must have been awful with her.
But then, Minjeong felt a certain sense of ease, and gratefulness. Jimin had fought for her freedom, and Minjeong would forever be in debt for this. On top of opening her eyes to the joy of living her own life, Jimin had also made sure that Minjeong could feel at peace with everything surrounding her, starting with this much needed but surprisingly peaceful confrontation with her mother.
So, feeling as full of adoration as she did, it came up as no surprise that Minjeong engulfed Jimin in a tight hug, all while silently sobbing on her chest.
And the best in all of this?
Jimin didn’t run away. She stayed there, and delicately but firmly wrapped her arms around Minjeong, almost in a protective way. In a way, it felt like Jimin was trying her best to shield her from all of the pain she endured until then.
Jimin’s arms felt warm. Jimin feels safe.
Minjeong didn’t know that a person could become one’s safe place. But after meeting Jimin, this idea became a certainty.
Here, in Jimin’s arms, Minjeong felt at home.
Jimin gently brushed Minjeong's hair with her free hand, all while giving her as much time as she needed to let out all of her emotions. And for that, Minjeong was incredibly grateful. Jimin had always been awfully considerate, another trait that made Minjeong helplessly fall for her.
How could she not though, when Jimin was so… Jiminful?
Not wanting to spend any more seconds wetting Jimin’s shirt even more, even though it was already completely damp, Minjeong took a step back, and messily brushed her remaining tears away.
However, as soon as she distanced herself from Jimin, she felt the girl’s right hand cradling her cheek once again.
“Cute.”
Jimin muttered this so softly that Minjeong almost didn’t catch her word. But what really made her heart skip a beat, was the look of pure adoration Jimin gave her.
But all she could do was to just awkwardly laugh this off. Because in front of such a raw display of affection, Kim Minjeong is ultimately reduced to nothing but a puddle of awkwardness. “I look like a complete mess though..”
Jimin shook her head disapprovingly. “No matter what, you always look cute to me Minjeongie.”
Minjeong waited for Jimin to blurt out a small joke after this like she usually would, but nothing else came. Just Jimin’s sheepish gaze, as well as the sensation of the hand resting on her cheek slightly trembling.
“Wha-” started Minjeong, but the words quickly died in her throat. Jimin looked at her straight in the eyes, as if searching for something. But Minjeong couldn’t really pinpoint what exactly.
“Tell me Minjeongie,” breathed out a now obviously nervous-looking Jimin. She was almost whispering. “D-do… do you feel it too..?”
Minjeong’s breath hitched in her throat. But not in a bad way. At that moment, she felt like all of the dots finally connected in her brain.
At first, she thought that it was just Jimin behaving like she usually does. Her just being her affectionate and dorky self. But the soft and lingering touches, the meaningful time spent together… And the gazes…. The profound and warm looks Jimin always gives her, as if Minjeong is the only person that matters in the world.
Minjeong obviously feels it too. How could she not?
Aside from saving her, and accompanying her on her road to become the person she wants to become, Jimin has always been there with Minjeong since the very beginning of her changes. From their awkward encounter in this very same room, to their late-night talks and hours spent together. Minjeong felt all of the subtle shifts in their relationship.
But what she did not take into account was the possibility of this shift being felt by the other person involved in this relationship as well. In no world would Minjeong have imagined that Jimin felt something with her… for her , as well.
But now that she thinks about it, Minjeong feels ridiculous for not noticing it before. Some people say that your eyes are the mirror of your soul. And this perfectly applies to Jimin, whose eyes express way more than a thousand words ever could.
“I do, Jimin.” Minjeong offered the older girl a soft smile, and tentatively placed a hand on top of Jimin’s one, on her cheek.
The grin that escaped from Jimin’s lips made all of this even more worth it. Minjeong swears that she never saw someone looking as happy as Jimin did. She almost wanted to giggle at the sheer excitement Jimin radiated at that moment. And if she squinted enough, she would be able to see a wagging tail behind Jimin.
“R-really?” It seemed like Jimin hadn’t realized it herself, but she was already practically bouncing from joy.
Minjeong finally let out the giggle she was helplessly trying to refrain, and squeezed Jimin’s hand a little tighter.
“Really!”
Jimin seemed to rejoice. “So you’re saying that I’m not just delusional, right?”
“Right!” softly giggled Minjeong. Jimin’s happiness was too contagious. Or maybe, Minjeong just felt genuinely happy about this whole situation.
“S-so,” Jimin’s ears looked even redder than usual, and the girl visibly had a hard time keeping her eyes on Minjeong’s. “D-does that mean I can kiss you now?”
“No.”
Jimin’s face fell in an almost comical way, which made Minjeong laugh even harder. This scene was way too familiar to her. It had unfolded exactly like when Jimin had first asked her to join the band, and the sole thought of it made Minjeong giggle even more.
However, compared to the past situation they found themselves in, Minjeong had no intention to refuse Jimin’s request this time. She would be a fool to do so, considering the fact that she has been dreaming about it for weeks, and even months now.
So, offering her the sweetest smile she ever showed, Minjeong stood on her tip-toes, and brought her face an inch closer to Jimin’s.
“I’m kidding silly. Of course you can kiss me, I’ve been waiting for ages now.”
Jimin didn’t waste a second, and captured Minjeong’s lips in hers.
The initial contact felt as soft as a feather. Jimin held Minjeong so gently, and her lips on hers felt almost timid. As if Jimin cherished her so much that she was afraid of breaking her.
Minjeong felt like crying at the soft yet intense feelings that Jimin poured into this simple, yet strong peck. But to them, it was more than a kiss. It was like a promise, a careful but assured seal of their growing feelings for each other. It was a sensation that grounded them both, and showed them that they have each others’ back. No matter what.
Jimin attempted to pull back a little bit, seemingly to catch her breath. But Minjeong did not give her this luxury. She dropped Jimin’s hand, and swiftly laced her arms around the girl’s neck, her fingers lazily resting on her nape, as she reached for her mouth and captured it again.
This time, the kiss felt a bit more rushed. As if their previous carefulness gave way to something much more comfortable, and more impatient. After kissing once already, they both knew that this is what they wanted. They may not have said anything directly about it, but no words were needed between them.
Minjeong feels Jimin’s smile against her lips. And in the way that their lips move against each other’s, eager and greedy for more, Minjeong can feel the depth of Jimin’s feelings for her. And she’s certain that Jimin can also feel her own feelings for her as well, from the mere touches of their lips.
Jimin kisses her like she loves it so much… Jimin kisses her like she loves her.
However, her lungs do not love her, and she wants to blame Jimin for this. She made her feel so breathless, that Minjeong reluctantly had to pull back, and slightly gasped for air. And obviously, the action made the very much guilty Jimin giggle.
Minjeong was about to tease her back, like she usually would. But the second she looked at Jimin, no words could escape her mouth. She took her time marveling in the sight bestowed in front of her.
Jimin, with her plump lips slightly bruised and her heaving breath, looked absolutely ethereal. At that moment, Minjeong decided that a freshly kissed Jimin was one of her favorites. After bassist Jimin, sleepy Jimin, or just… Jimin in general.
Minjeong doesn’t differentiate them that much. After all, they’re all Jimin, so she’s bound and willing to love them all the same.
However, if she really had to choose, Minjeong would declare the Jimin standing in front of her as her all time favorite. Messy and freshly kissed expression aside, Jimin’s eyes looked at her with so much fondness and affection. Kind of like how she usually looks at Minjeong, for sure.
But this Jimin had something different. The look she’s giving to Minjeong was different from usual.
This look… There's no mistaking it.
It was the look of love.
Minjeong was a bit taken aback by its intensity at first. But she had no trouble mirroring the look in Jimin’s eyes. Simply because she feels the same.
Love.
Loving Jimin proved to be an effortless act.
Minjeong delicately unwrapped her arms from Jimin’s neck, and gently grabbed her hands. Both of them were silent, but it was a comfortable silence. They were just content with spending time together like that, simply gazing at each other, and conveying their shared love in their own way. Through their eyes, their gestures, and the lingering feeling of each other’s lips on their own.
Minjeong glanced at Jimin, and whispered softly. “It’s getting late, we should head home.”
Jimin whined cutely at the thought of having to separate ways with Minjeong so soon. “Can’t we stay a bit longer like this… I don’t wanna let go yet.”
As she said this, Jimin clinged to her side, and buried her face in the crook of Minjeong’s neck, who couldn’t help but to giggle at the girl’s childishness.
“Alright you big baby,” she affectionately cooed. “But only for a bit, okay?” She took out two chairs, and put them next to each other. She made Jimin sit down, before taking her own seat, right next to Jimin’s.
She could feel Jimin nodding against her. Minjeong let out a small sigh, simply because she felt completely content at that moment. The day had exhausted her, but in all the best ways possible.
She knows Jimin and her have much more to discuss, and they also need to tell Yizhuo and Aeri about them, although they still haven’t given each other a label. But this could wait.
Usually, Minjeong wants to make sure things are cleanly done as soon as she starts them, because she hates losing time. But here, with Jimin safely resting on her side, Minjeong feels like letting loose for a bit, and just bathing in the comfort of this moment.
So she chose to snuggle back against Jimin, and bravely kissed the top of her head, before hugging her even tighter. She closed her eyes when she felt Jimin nuzzling more into her, and allowed herself to completely relax.
Everything else could wait. For now, Minjeong solely wants to focus on Jimin, and Jimin only. After all, they have all the time in the world to deal with anything else.
But for now, Minjeong would gladly take a well-deserved nap with her beloved on her arm!
