Couple reasons for this rather quick update:
My heart went on a roller coaster. Finding out any member, but especially the loml Chaeyoung is to leave JYP is conflicting.

On the one hand, like many other onces, I ask myself, what’s in store for Twice? Will they be the same? Feel the same?
The answer? Probably not. It’s sad, yeah, I’m not denying that. I’ve seen a lot of chatter about this whole Twice situation, and guys look, I get it. We can’t expect the girls to stay in the group forever.
I’m here to tell you that that’s not what we’re doing when we question the future. Is it not okay to lament the probably loss in consistency of one of the greatest girl groups ever? I don’t think so. I also don’t think that by lamenting, we’re actively against their choice to move on. We’re just reflecting on what they have given us. As fans, I think we’re entitled to feeling this way. To simply say “you need to celebrate the fact that they’re choosing for themselves” is fine, but there’s nuance. I am celebrating that both Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung, probably more are moving in directions they are truly choosing for themselves, but I’m also reflecting, giving thanks, and putting my head down for Twice.
So, there were all those emotions going down, and then I find out that Chaeyoung and Zion T. have reportedly broken up. I have since decided to shoot my shot. Wish me luck guys.
Okay, enough about that. Now for the shoutouts. Shoutout to the Polycule, and also, hmm, let me check.
Okay I looked around and I’ve decided to shoutout Seorreality. Just for being the best.
^^???
I guess I have a shoutout segment now. That’s kinda cool I guess.
The guy behind JMunny is doing alright. I’ve been in Japan for 2 weeks now and it’s just been wonderful.
I guess I’ll tell you a little bit about what I’m doing here. Japan (like a lot of the world I’ve learned) is facing issues with a decrease in population. This manifests issues especially in small towns, much like the one I am in right now.
Okay, so blah blah blah, young people move to the big city, the average age of the town grows higher, less people have kids, the town falls apart, etc. etc.
Long story short, I’m here trying to help revitalize the town. A lot of hard work, the vice president (who’s a little bit insane but everyone in this town is) made me pull a 10 hour shift on what was supposedly my day off. First one in over a week of being here. I was slightly annoyed, but the president saw and is now giving me a drive to Kochi city. I’ll stay there for a couple days and explore! Super excited for that.
Anyway, it’s Tokyo on the 25th. Any reccs for Tokyo would be greatly appreciated.
I know I said I wouldn’t write for a while, but I’m currently BFHing Asa, so.
I think that just goes to show you how much we as writers love writing.
You here this notion going around that ‘this is just a hobby’. And it is. This writing thing for me is nothing more than something I do when I have free time.
Don’t let that ‘hobby’ word diminish what it is we do. Because we fucking. Love. Writing. This is our hobby, but for a lot of us, it’s also our passion. Look at capslocked’s latest blog post, where he highlights the hours and hours spent into this past time of ours. That doesn’t come without passion. That doesn’t come without finding the time, making the time to write.
Yes, it is just a hobby, sometimes you have to step away from it all, the behind the scenes stuff, the obsessing over plot points, the pining for more notes and more engagement. But it’s always in the back of your head, calling you, asking you when you’re coming back.
With that being said, I want to go over how my sentiments towards fics have, maybe changed since I started, and I’m curious about other authors, and if they have similar experiences.
In my early days of writing (I mean, I’ve been at this less than a year, so I’d argue I still am in my early days, but it’s relative, y’kno?) I felt an immense connection towards the idols that I wrote. There was weight to who I wrote, I felt a strong connection to their character.
I wrote someone because I wanted to give their story a platform. I wanted to take this idea I had for them and bring it to fruition.
And, yeah, maybe that’s still there a little bit, but I think it’s slowly turning into a check list. “Oh, I haven’t written her yet” typa thing.
It doesn’t feel as… intimate (bro you should have SEEN how I spelt intimate the first time. It was rough, I forgot how to spell for a second). I kind of want that feeling back. Sometimes I feel it, it’s not like it’s disappeared completely.
Any other writers feel a similar way?
Thanks for reading! Any questions or suggestions you have for me or this blog, please, let me know.
