an yujin and jang wonyoung. chaewon didn’t know what those two ate while growing up, but what she did know was that they towered over her despite both being a few years younger.
initially, wonyoung drew attention for her model like visuals as well as cold princess-like image, while yujin was just seen as someone she hung around with. yujin was pretty yes, but most felt she didn’t match up especially when compared to one of the school’s flowers - her bob hair and tom boyish image did not help much either. it wasn’t until yujin joined the track & field team did her athletic ability shine through, easily joining the first team and being one of the only first years to compete in school tournaments.
while the sports related clubs were aware of the up and coming track star, it was the decision to grow out her hair and dye it blue that was the catalyst to garnering yujin fame amongst the general student populace. it was only around yujin did wonyoung revert back into the little girl that always relied upon her dependable unnie, a scene in which chaewon was one of the privileged few to witness.
“merong i beat you this time yena unnie” yujin teased as yena tried to come up with all sorts of excuses on why she had lost. chaewon was no stranger to this since the two always raced to the meeting room after training every week. yujin always left school with wonyoung while yena and chaewon stayed together.
“annyeong angel nim, you look good today" chaewon turned around in time to spot yujin’s wink as she departed with wonyoung, leaving a beet red minju behind. jealousy flashed through chaewon’s eyes as she muttered a small goodbye to minju before storming off, painfully aware that the younger girl was blushing so hard, she hadn’t even registered her words.
