Hello everyone, my name is Ace Vorrentis.
If you heard of me, great, if not, hello friends, I came from Wattpad/Tumblr and I’m seeing how this platform works to put my stories in as well, but really Wattpad seems to be a going down especially for k-pop fan fiction so hopefully this goes well.
I’ll be uploading chapters from Coach and other stories here time to time and if it goes well, great if not, oh well.
I will also be fixing up the chapters as I go along such as grammar mistakes, adding gifs/sentences and deleting/revising some parts, but not changing the story completely.
Thanks again!
"Alright guys, keep it up. We got this game!" Your coach was yelling along the sideline of the match.
Currently, the score was 92-101 in favor of your team.
It was the state finals and your team (TN) and the opposing team were in the last couple minutes of the game.
You were out on the court currently with your starting lineup, desperately trying to fight back.
When they came in your side of the court, a player went toward the paint, but you were there and swiped the ball from the air as he attempted a mid shot.
You stole the ball and ran to the other side of the court. However, their center was right next to you so you came up with a plan.
As soon as you were near their net, you pumped fake and fooled the center to jump and when he did…
THUMP
You also jumped causing him to collide into you.
WHHHRRR
The ref whistled his whistle to call a foul and then you threw the ball toward the net, which went in, resulting in an and one.
“YEAH!” “WOOO!” “(YN)!”
Your team cheered and so did the audience.
However, the cheering wasn’t just in the gym alone.
A group that is joining in on that is from all the way back in South Korea.
The ever most loved and one of the most popular K-pop groups Twice was currently watching your performance and when you got the and 1, they cheered loudly.
All nine members were watching your performance and they were ecstatic at the inevitable win.
Now it’s funny, Twice doesn't seem like the kind of group to watch or know a thing about basketball as the closest to them in sports was the Idol Stars but it was all thanks to Chaeyoung that they knew a thing or two about it.
FLASHBACK
Chaeyoung was casually going through channels through their living room TV since they were on break coming from a tour.
She randomly ended up watching some news about a blowout in a basketball match by 48 points and curiosity got the best of her since there was nothing else on.
So she decided to leave it on here and it then showed you being interviewed by a news reporter.
"What you watching?" Sana who was in the kitchen, grabbing a drink of water, before heading up but catching Chaeyoung watching the screen.
"Don’t know. Just something about him winning something." She pointed at the TV, Sana came to see.
"Is he famous?"
"I just put the channel on. But it’s something about basketball." Sana then sat with Chaeyoung to see what this is about.
“Basketball huh?”
And to any other language, they had their subtitles on.
"So (YN), today your team won by a wide margin of 48 points. Lately you’ve been dominating each game by blowout after blowout. What does that say about your team's skill?"
The reporter held the mic to you.
"It means what we're doing during training is working. Practice makes perfect and it clearly showed on that match. Though we can’t get too cocky about it. One game is one game and the next one could be us losing by 48." You replied as he brought the mic back to his.
"Now you’ve been constantly talked about as the one player to beat and how everyone should plan against you. And winning Player of the Year a few months ago, how do you handle everyone having their sights on you?"
"Again, it means what I’m doing in practice is working. I’m grateful for the recognition and all, but there’s only one award that I’ll want and it’s going to take the team to get that one trophy that matters. However, I can’t take the credit for getting this far alone. It’s in the efforts of my teammates that helped me get to where I am as well the coach. They’ve put the same amount of effort as I am and they deserve the same recognition and more."
"Player of the year? He must be really good then?" Sana said and Chaeyoung nodded.
"Well I won’t take much of your time (YN). Thank you for answering my questions,” you nodded as the reporter turned to the camera, “and remember, even though these are high school matches, his are being broadcasted live, so remember tomorrow against (Team Name) at (Time) at (Channel). This has been (Reporter Name) and (YN), two-time national champion. (YN) thanks for joining us."
"Thank you for the interview." You ended with a nod to him and at the camera before leaving the scene and eventually the commercials played.
"Two time?" Sana caught the ending, "he must be good then."
"Let me check." Chaeyoung picked up her phone that was on her side and proceeds to google you, "of course he's a basketball player. He plays in the states and he's won the state champion twice along with player of the year." Chaeyoung read being surprised by that, "and he's only eighteen."
"He’s young. So if he's that good, I wouldn't mind seeing him play tomorrow." Sana said and she got up and walked away.
"Sure," Chaeyoung said and kept a note on when the match starts.
THE NEXT DAY STILL FLASHBACK
Chaeyoung was at the couch waiting for the time to come around at your match since the time zones were different, but she did her research and turns out is a perfect time to watch your match.
Around 10:30 AM for them while your matches were at 6:30 PM.
She texted Sana if she still wanted to watch the match with her and instead of a reply, she heard someone coming down the stairs…
“I’m here,”
