“And we are open.”

You flipped the sign on the door from CLOSED to OPEN.

You smiled at the sign and turned your body around to walked towards the front counter.

It was your first day of opening the long dream of your own bakery.

It took a while, and after school, work and time…you accomplished your dream.

You bought a modest size building for sale, the price may have been a bit high, but it was in a perfect location in an area of lots of housing and shopping around.

“Okay,” you rubbed you hands, “now we just wait…oh shoot.” You scurried behind the counter and display of baked goods as you went through a door towards your kitchen.

You scurried towards the oven as you looked through the lit up window and smiled. You stopped the heat of the oven and put on some oven mitts as you opened and took a tray of chocolate chip cookies out of the oven as you set it aside to cool and ready for the customers…if any showed up.

You went back to the counter as you eyed the very few people walking by.

“Hmm…it is very early…patience (YN) patience.” You told yourself.

34 MINUTES LATER

You were in the kitchen just cleaning for the million time as you wanted everything to be in pristine and clean condition.

Just then…

DING

The doorbell sound echoed in the kitchen as you installed a bell-like sound to ring out incase a customer walks in.

You perched your head towards the sound quick as you cleaned yourself up.

‘Okay (YN), don’t screw this up…’

You were nervous and excited…your first customer.

You clear your throat as you left your supplies behind and you went toward the front desk. You opened the door and…

“Annyeong haseyo.” You said as you witnessed a person standing there in front of the door.

You smiled at the person and noticed they were very hidden with a hoodie up, mask and even sunglasses put on.

Your thoughts immediately came to what if it was a robber, but you quickly threw that idea away as the person came closer slowly.

You stood there tyring to not be weird as you saw the person moving their head around.

“Anything I can help you with?” You asked as the person looked to you.

“…Just browsing,” The person said back and by the voice, you heard it being a woman’s voice. “I saw the sign-out, you just opened today?”

You nodded.

“Yeah, maybe a couple of hours ago. You’re my first customer by the way.”

She pointed at herself.

“Am I really?” She sounded excited about it as you nodded and smiled at her manner.

“Yes you are.”

“Ah well congrats..” She praised and viewed at the pastries underneath your register and sides, “mind if I look around?”

“Go ahead.” You waved your hand as she nodded. You didn’t want to just stare at the person, as you tried to look at everyone but the customer.

'My first customer…oh god…’

“Hmm…I’ll take one chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookie.” You concluded for her to be a girl with her tone as she pointed at the trays behind the glass.

“Okay. For here or to go?”

“To go please.”

You nodded and went towards the fresh batch of each as the person just eyed you as you grabbed two white cellophane bags and went downwards with a plastic tong as you carefully placed them in each one.

You then came back up as she already had her money out.

“That would be 1500 ₩.” You said as the person handed it in a container as you picked up and gave back the change.

“Gamsahamnida.” The person said as you handed her the two cookies in a plastic wrap as she handed the money and placed it in her pocket.

“Gamsahamnida, come back soon.” You said as she turned and left towards the door.

DING

The bell dinged as the door opened and closed as you smiled and looked at the register.
