Character creation

Hey you’re finally awake? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there. You were trying to cross the border, but now that you're up, you are ready to start your adventure in the snowy mountains of Skyrim. Sorry I couldn’t help myself, but brings me to my next section Character Creation/ development.

If you remember our Character section should have the following subsections

Main characters (further divided to)

Protagonist(s)

Allies

Obstacles

Diplomats

I feel like everything but the last three are pretty self explanatory so I will explain those

Allies are characters aligned with either your protagonist or antagonist

Obstacles are characters that aren’t antagonists but opposed to the protagonist/antagonist. For example hector and Achilles are obstacles to each other in the Iliad. They are in opposition but aren’t directly antagonistic towards each other until we see the death of Patroclus.

Diplomats are people who are active characters who aren’t aligned with anyone in particular nor serve as opposition. The example I’d use would be like a merchant or shopkeeper in a story.

Also these rolls aren’t hard and fast and can change.

Now that sections are established the next part is filling them

For me I usually follow the following format small summary associated items inspirations. Some other things you can add flaws bonds etc. I typically save that for pre writes and chapter zero.

Sétanta Pendragon: an Aasimar ex military officer who was in the pacific theater of WWI. Now a private investigator. Bound to the elemental Spirit Mansues that manifests as a sort of knightly dragon. who is hired by the oragami mage Akira Yoshizawa II to find the black stallion, an arcane artifact said to house the 140 thousand souls trapped in a magically looping battle with “Troy” fun facts: reads slop romance books and classics in between jobs. Wields a revolver and longsword inspirations Achilles, Cú Chulainn, Nero (DMC)

Antagonist

Agamemnon “Aggie” Harding: a notorious orc archmage crime boss who runs the Spartan Mafia. Walks with a limp and has an arcane weave eye that grants him true sight. He is looking for the black stallion as a way to fully consolidate his power within the city. Fought in World War One and got injured. Inspired br Ratigan, James Moriarty

Side Characters

Akira Yoshizawa II (obstacle) famed human Oragami mage and Japanese American. previous owner of the black stallion. A collector of magic artifacts who seeks to make an “archive of magic”

Chaehyun Kim (ally): Korean American elf and apprentice to Akira/ surrogate daughter sweet and kind girl who helps Sétanta on his quest to find the black stallion.

Light fury (diplomat): An Aasimar brothel head, blood mage, and hunter of the Black Stallion. She’s passionate calculating sultry and also surprisingly clumsy. Beneath her icy exterior there is a soft heart underneath. Classic femme fatale. Inspirations catwoman, Ada Wong, river song (doctor who)
