Walk the cat

Your favorite type of date is a Park date, there is not if’s or buts.

Its nothing special and honestly it doesn’t need to be, Fancy restaurants be dammed, Movie dates? overrated, nothing beats a slow and calming walk where you just talk with your partner. Its romantic, its Cliche, but regardless you still enjoy it.

It also helps that your Lee chaeyoung is the type of girl that cant sit still for a minute without going crazy.

Your park dates usually start like this: first of all, wait for her to change clothes to the cutest outfit she has in her closet which usually takes 10 minutes or so (“Imagine all the people who are gonna look us, thinking we look so cute together” she reasons, you don’t mind it). Then head out of your apartment toward the local park of your neighborhood, hand intertwined with yours tightly.

Next, when you get there your Girlfriend’s mind start to get scattered.

“Oh my god chess tables, i can totally beat you”

“We should totally buy one of those river boats now”

“Oppaaaaaa, im tired~, please carry me”

While Chaeyoung’s hyperactive and curious nature gets quiet tiring for your more quiet and relaxed one, you cant lie that each time she speaks gets you smiling, especially when she is talking in her cute cat-like tone, smiling at you like you are the only thing in her mind, and most of the time: you are.

Her yapping lasts for about half an hour and by then, you already did one full trip around the park, around this time she starts getting a bit more relaxed, switching from just holding your hand she now wraps both of her arms around yours, resting her head on your shoulder while she hums playful tones to the air, her voice is soft and beautiful. Sometimes you find yourself staring at her, When she gives you a puzzled look you say its nothing, laughing lightly and focusing on the walk.

When her tummy starts rumbling after forgetting to eat lunch, you go to a wandering ice-cream cart, buying one Mint-choco cone for her and one Vanilla cone for you (to which she always judges you) and find a free bench to sit on together. The sky turns to an orange shade when she changes the conversation topic from jumbled, random thoughts in her head to juicy gossip about her friends, Like how Sumin accidentally came to practice today with her pajamas, Or how Seeun accidentally spilled her boba tea on Sieun’s dress and her apology was so over the top that everyone started teasing her.

By now Chaeyoung starts getting tired so naturally she rests her head on your lap (“My favorite pillow in the world~” She says, without any hint of shame in her voice) while she looks at you with those sparkly eyes and you finally get to share about how your day went and while being a barista at a coffee shop is not as exciting as being a Kpop idol, she still gives you all your attentions. At the same time your hands thread Chaeyoung’s pink hair, they are so soft in your hand, as if they are made of silk.

And then evening comes and like the cat she is, she falls asleep on your lap as you can only imagine what she dreams but considering how she is still smile, you can sense that she dreams about good things. However since its getting late and sleeping in the park is less than ideal conditions, you pick her up and carry her back to your apartment bridal style, she is light so its not a problem in that sense, the awkwardness arises mostly when people around look at you carrying your girlfriend, some smile at you, others roll their eyes from jealousy but you don’t mind.

Eventually you get back to your apartment, carrying her back to your shared, and while you were planning to just let her sleep while you watch TV in the living room, you can hear her sleep talk how she doesn’t want you to let go. So instead your park date ends laying together side by side, huddled together under the sheets as you look at her adorable, sleepy face and eventually it doesn’t take you long before you fall asleep as well near her.
