Chapter 8 : Time Skip

Y/n’s POV

So, it's been a few years, but everything was going great. Sana and I talked, with Mina present, and everything went ok. 

Mina and I have been going strong. Yes, we talked about kids, and we said it would be too soon, but if it happens, it happens.

And as for now, I am with Eva, and we are talking about tonight. "Are you going to the party tonight?" Eva asked and took a sip of her coffee afterward. "What party ?" I asked her back. "The New Year's Eve party..." she trailed off, “Your parents' party?” 

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Umm, yeah, I think so? If Mina says we are going, then I'll probably go too." I shrugged and drank my banana milkshake. "What about-" I was then cut off when I felt a vibration on my lap. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and checked to see that there were a few messages from my amazing girlfriend, Myoui Mina.

Mina

Where are you ? Answer me!!!!

BABY

ANSWER ME THIS INSTANT !!!

calm down will you.

I'm with Eva at the coffee shop I always go to.

Is there something you need ?
Yes I do need something.

We need to go shopping

I need to find the perfect dress for the party.

Mina

What? I need to buy a new dress. My closet is empty.

We went shopping two days ago and you bought like half the store.

I'm pretty sure you'd need another closet to fill up more clothes.

Fine. go get ready. I'll be outside of the house in thirty minutes.

"I uh...I have to go. It's Mina, she needs me to take her shopping because she can't find anything to wear for the party tonight. Sorry if I had to cut this short." I sighed softly.

"No, it's fine. Also, that reminds me I have to go gift-hunting for my girlfriend. 

I'll see you tonight?" I nodded my head in response and waved her goodbye before heading out of the coffee shop.

I then got in my car and started the engine, not wasting anymore time, and drove off.

"Baby, do you think this looks good ?" Mina turned around, showing me the dress placed in front of her. "Love it, baby. You look amazing in everything." I smiled, and she let out a deep sigh before putting the dress back on the clothing rack. I raised my eyebrows in confusion and quickly caught up to her from behind when she started moving to another clothing section.

"Hm, what about these? What do you think?" I looked at it. "It looks a little too fancy for a party," she frowned. "fancy? What part of the dress is fancy?"

"Everything..." I mumbled, "You have no taste at all." She rolled her eyes and put back the dress. "You and I both know that all I wear is black and white with the occasional Band Tee"

"True"

We spent almost two hours hunting for the perfect dress, and after what seemed like forever, Mina finally found the one. I was so glad she finally found the dress she liked, because I couldn't bear another minute of standing or walking around like a dog.

I don't mind sometimes, but it gets tiring after a while. "Baby, there's one more thing I need to get," she smiled widely while her hands were on my chest. "What is it, baby?" I spoke softly.

"It's a secret. You should go back to the car first. I'll meet you at the entrance," she pecked my cheeks and proceeded to walk away to god knows where. I narrowed my eyes in suspicion, watching her walk away, but I decided to just comply and went back to my car.

Once I reached my car, I placed the designer bags carefully in the back seat. Mina had always told me to be gentle with those bags because they're really special to her.

It's also easy for her to see if there are any dents on the bag, and if she ever finds one, she'll probably kill me since I carry them, or the store owner, for being so careless when packing them. I then got into my car and drove to the mall entrance to park closer to the doors.

I waited in the car for a few minutes, and soon, minutes turned into an hour. I had called and texted her multiple times, but there was no response, which had me slightly concerned. My leg bounced up and down nervously as I bit my lip and fiddled with my fingers. A few minutes had passed, and Mina still hadn't returned. I've called and texted her only to be sent straight to voicemail. 

I decided to just go search for her, but right when I was about to get out of my car, I saw Mina taking her time to approach it. She entered the car and placed the bags in the back seat, letting out a deep breath. "Where the hell have you been? And why were you ignoring my texts and calls?"

"Calm down, baby, I got caught up with shopping," she replied calmly. "Calm down?! I was literally worried about you for the past hour. How can I calm down?!" I said calmly, "Gosh, can you stop worrying? I'm here now, aren't I?Just relax a little." she said, sighing and leaning back into the seat. I scoffed. "Why is it so hard for you to check your phone every once in a while?"

"Babe, you know I don't check my phone when I'm shopping."

"Mina-"

"Can you drive now? The stylist will be arriving soon," she cut me off, to which I clenched my jaw and did what was told anyway.

Throughout the whole car ride, we didn't bother to say a word. It was a very uncomfortable silence, yet neither one of us dared to say a word. And after what seems like years, we've finally arrived back home. Mina was the first one to get out of the car. I watched her walk away empty-handed while her hips swayed.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes before grabbing all the bags from the backseat. Once I entered the house, the maids immediately helped me carry all of the bags. I muttered a thank-you and walked to our shared master bedroom. I then entered our room to find Mina laughing and chatting with the hair and makeup stylist.

Their laughter soon stopped when they saw me. Mina glanced at me, then back at the mirror, which made me frown slightly.

Was she mad at me?

I sighed softly and walked out of the room, making sure to close the door. I headed downstairs and took a seat on the couch while my legs rested on top of the table. I then got comfortable and put my feet up on the coffee table. Staring at the TV's black screen, I soon snapped out of my trance when I felt a vibration on my lap, and I checked to see it was my younger brother.

Are you going to the new year’s party tn ?
yeah. Why?

Mum and dad miss you a lot. they wouldn't stop talking about you to the point where it makes me want to rip my ears off.

That's nice to hear. We'll make sure to be there on time :)

You better.

Alright if you'd excuse me, I have better things to do.

Like what?

idk, but i'll find something to do while Mina gets ready for the party

I placed my phone beside me and dropped my head back, staring at the white ceiling. I sighed in annoyance at the fact that Mina didn't want to talk to me.

I hated it. I hated it when she gave me the silent treatment, even though I didn't deserve it. When she gave me the cold shoulder or rolled her eyes at me, what I hated most was that she tried to blame me for everything, knowing that most of it was her fault. 

But since I can't blame her, I had no choice but to take the blame instead. It was a familiar routine by now, shouldering the weight of our arguments just to keep the peace. As always, like a good partner would do.

As time passed by, still with nothing to do, my eyes began to slowly close by themselves. Next thing I knew, I found myself dreaming of Mina.
