Results of Midsummer 2026 Survey

Hi Fanprosers!

Thank you for your contribution to the 2026 Midsummer Community Survey! Hopefully you received some nice photocards for your time! As usual, we learned a lot; some were obvious, others rather surprising. To improve transparency with our users, we’d like to share a summary of the results:

512 users surveyed:

• 55% users identify as readers

• 7% as writers

• 17% as collectors

• 21% as all of the above

Almost all users (95% or above):

• enjoy the Nesting system

• think this season is more fun than the last

• think their writing and/or reading experience has improved since the last survey

• think that PvE > PvP

• think moderators should have more community presence

• are more satisfied with Fanprose since the last survey

• believe Fanprose cares about their opinion

• are overall happy with Fanprose

A large majority of users (80% or above):

• prefer dark mode

• like that it is easier to obtain photocards this season

• enjoy the new Prayer system

• enjoy the new Shrine system

• do NOT think Power is too overpowered

• do NOT think that others having a card they also have makes it feel less special

• do NOT think it is too easy to get what they want this season

• think that Celestials should be obtainable without just relying on luck

• think that Celestials should be obtainable by anyone through high effort

• like that Infinities exist

• are not happy knowing there are cards they want but cannot obtain

• think Premium is worth the cost

Most users (65% or above):

• are on mobile

• enjoy the new Wisdom system

• do NOT think there are too many photocards to collect this season

• do NOT think that upper tier cards no longer feel special this season

• do NOT like how difficult it to to obtain Celestial cards

• do NOT think Celestials should exist if only ~5 users can own each copy

• think it is too difficult to obtain an Infinity card

• do NOT think we need Auctions

• think Harvest are unfair to smaller Treehouses

• do NOT think Fanprose is more of a photocard site than fanfiction site

• think moderators should NOT use their Guardian masks outside of Town Halls

Users are split between whether or not:

• they like the shrine of Fortune’s jackpot mechanic (even split)

• the Shrine of Beauty is still too difficult (even split)

• their perceived values of photocards having decreased this season (slight edge on it NOT having decreased)

• duo cards have been problematic (even split)

• they like the selection of Secrets and Celestial cards this season (even split)

• every card should be obtainable through Shrines (slight edge that they shouldn’t)

• achievements are pointless (even split)

• tagging is still a problem (very slight edge on yes)

• incognito commenting should exist (very slight edge on them not existing)

• they would be happy if boygroup authors joined (even split)

So what now?

We’ll use the feedback from this survey to improve the experience of Fanprose to the best of our ability in the upcoming updates.

We’re confident that:

1. Celestials will be reworked next season to be more obtainable

2. Auctions will not return next season

3. Harvests will be reworked next season

4. Divine cards will not be added next season

5. Achievements will be reworked before or by next season

6. There will need to be filters for boy-group content

We’ll reconsider:

1. Whether the shrine of Fortune will return next season

2. Tweaking the shrine of Beauty for next season

3. Reworking ways to obtain duo cards next season

4. Whether incognito commenting should return, with modifications

5. Ways to increase moderator presence in the community

In the mean time:

1. Celestials will return to the shrine of Fortune for the rest of this season

2. A new Shrine will be added to deconstruct cards into lower tiers
