Mina never woke up before YN but today she heard something in the apartment.
She froze, not moving, fighting her spiking heartbeat trying to hear anything.
Another clank from the kitchen.
“YN, there’s someone in the apartment.” she whispered, shaking him awake.
He got up quickly. “Stay here, I’ll go look.”
He slipped through the bedroom door.
She waited there sitting in bed listening.
The door opened back up and he walked back in with a smile on his face.
You better come out to see this.
She walked down the hallway half hiding behind YN still a little afraid.
Then she heard familiar voices.
The two in the kitchen froze when she and YN turned the corner.
Her eyes went wide. “Momo? Chae? What are you doing here?”
Momo's eyes shifted from Mina to YN.
“Sana won't shut up about his breakfast. I wanted to see for myself.”
“I just wanted to see you two be all cute.” Chae said, eyes darting between YN and Mina.
Mina was suddenly very aware she was still hiding behind YN, peaking around his arm.
“Momo, you could have just asked.” YN said.
He moved towards her in the kitchen.
“Go sit down.” He said, as he started on the refrigerator.
Momo just looked at him confused.
Chaeyoung didn’t take her eyes off of Mina.
Mina had a small smile on her face watching him start to work.
“Unnie, he's not going anywhere. You can come sit with us.” Chaeyoung said.
He chuckled but didn’t break his movements.
The girls settled on the dining room table just outside of earshot of YN.
“Mina, does he do this all the time?” Momo asked.
“Do what?”
“Do that.” Momo pointed.
YN had his back to them humming quietly, easily prepping something in his left hand while flipping a pan in his right hand.
Mina just looked at her confused.
“Unnie, he’s like… perfect.” Chaeyoung said.
“Does he make you food like this all the time?” Momo asked, jaw still open.
“...Yes” she stammered.
“Brilliant, handsome, protective and he cooks for you? Next thing you’re going to say is he does your laundry.” Chaeyoung said.
Mina’s eyes went wide.
“Oh my God, he does. He does your laundry!” Chaeyoung pointed a finger accusingly.
“Shhhh.” She said, trying to quiet the young tiger down.
“Don’t let him go Mi-tan, or I’m going to snatch him up.” Momo said.
She rolled her eyes.
He grabbed her favorite mug and poured her some tea, bringing it around the table to her.
He set it right in front of her leaning against her frame as he stood there and gave her a soft kiss on the top of her head.
She smiled.
He looked over at the other two with a smile that made his eyes crinkle.
“Coffee or tea girls?”
“Uh coffee for me.” Chaeyoung said.
“Yeah, same.” Momo added.
Both girls sat wide eyed.
They are finally seeing what I’ve known for years.
Her smile faltered just a fraction.
