To be fair, there's really no such thing as too much vanilla.
"You’re adding too much vanilla."
"There is no such thing as too much vanilla."
Minji just smiled and didn’t argue further, continuing to write letters as she watched Hanni crouch down in front of the oven.
Completely still, unblinking.
Very focused.
Very, focused.
"You do know that it’ll ding right?" Minji asked, putting the marker cap back on as she stood up and sighed affectionately, crouching behind Hanni.
"Sometimes these things malfunction." Hanni said, still not taking her eyes off the oven.
Minji sighed again, smiling to herself a bit, the fond kind, before she crossed the kitchen, crouching behind Hanni. She looked at Hanni for a while before lifting Hanni by her armpits.
Hanni thrashed. Flailed. Kicked a little. Minji held on through all of it until Hanni stopped, crossing her arms with a pout as Minji carried her back to the chair and settled her on her lap.
"I feel like a baby" Hanni protested, but she instinctively relaxed in Minji’s embrace.
"My baby." Minji replied, also instinctive, kissing Hanni’s nape before writing again.
Jerk. Hanni thought. "What’re you writing anyways?"
"Letters"
"No shit, of course it’s letters, you’re writing letters it’s not like you can write words on paper—"
Jerk. Minji thought. "Letters, like letters letters Hanni"
"Oh. What’s in the letters?"
"Lines"
"Kim Minji I’m gonna jinja kill you."
"Okay okay geez so violent…" Minji relented and laughed. "Just like, words of appreciation I guess"
"For what?"
"For the fans"
"Oh." Hanni’s voice shifted as she looked down. "I guess they deserve it after us dragging them to whatever we —"
Minji bit her neck from behind. "Don’t finish that, you did the right thing"
Hanni sighed. "It costed us Dani"
"You call her everyday"
"It’s not the same."
"No." Minji replied. "It’s not."
Minji continued writing.
"Stop shifting you’re heavy."
"I’m small"
"You’re dense"
"Fuck you."
"You did."
Hanni had been prettily perched on Minji’s lap for a while, just watching Minji's hands before she actually focused on what was being written on them.
When she did, she went quiet.
Lyrics. Minji had written lyrics on all of them — different ones for different letters, in that handwriting that started neat and got looser the longer she went.
One more chance, 너와 나 다시 한번 만나게, 서로에게 향하게. On one.
You know me like no other. In another.
Hanni leaned in, going through the stack slowly, and then stopped.
"How many did you write for Dani."
Minji didn't answer fast enough.
"Minji."
Minji was still thinking.
"Kim Minji."
"She has a lot of lines that work—"
"You gave her Ditto." Hanni held up the letter. "That’s literally my favorite?"
Not just anybody, 너를 상상했지, 항상 닿아있던 처음 느낌 그대로 난
Hanni browsed through the cards, before gasping, very much offended. "And Hype Boy?!"
I'm not looking for just fun, maybe I could be the one.
