We NEED to talk about the misogyny and double standards in the manhwa community ESPECIALLY when the misogyny towards female characters.
So I've been reading this manhwa called Falling for it which follows our introverted FMC Sujeong who meets our extroverted and outgoing ML Seunghyeon at a college social gathering.
Seunghyeon gets fascinated and interested in Sujeong and starts pursuing her even when she wasn't interested in him at the time but soon starts liking him bit by bit and decides: you know what. Imma give this nigga a chance.
ONLY for this mutha fucka to back off and ghost her and make a fool outta her by making it seem like SHE'S rushing and pushing a relationship with him.
Nigga, last I checked YOU 🫵🏽 pursued and chased after her and inserted yourself in her life without her consent in the first place. FUCK YOU MEAN SHE'S RUSHING. THAT WAS ALL YOOOOOOUUUUUU NIGGA.
And this mutha fucka had the gall and audacity to start talking to her again like nothing happened saying shit like: I missed you. I hope you think about me all the time.

And the real kicker is that THE BITCH ASS NÏGGA starts realising and develops genuine feelings for Sujeong THE MOMENT he sees her hanging and getting close to our second male lead Ujun (we love Ujun).
And y'all already know how I feel about niggas who start realising their feelings and start locking in the moment another nigga starts making their moves on FMCs 🙃.
So Sujeong found herself in an apartment scam. She was lucky she found somewhere to go but she got no money. So she joins a writing contest with a good amount of bands but she doesn't know what to write about. Ujun encourages her to write about her experience with Seunghyeon and get that bag.
And she does, she gets busy but there are some elements that are missing and she wants to really capture the essence of the story. But to do that she will have to hang around with Seunghyeon and play with his feelings a little.
Now PERSONALLY, I would have preferred that she didn't HAVE to keep entertaining this nigga for the sake of getting the tea and materials for her story. But hey, I'm all for it if it means that this nigga gets his comeuppance and baby girl gets her bag coz FUCK HIM.
Now that we're up to speed, here's my issue with the readers and basically the issue I have with the manhwa fandom as a whole.
Why are we overlooking the horrible actions the ML did to the FMC but dragging the FMC for doing the same thing or returning the energy right back at the ML.
Like real shit: people are out here saying that Sujeong is manipulating and using Seunghyeon’s genuine feelings to write a book about him to humiliate him and she's worse than he is.
Umm no. We are not about to feel bad for this mutha fucka getting his feelings hurt just coz he's genuinely developing feelings for Sujeong.
This nigga ghosted her the moment she started showing genuine feelings for him the flipped the script saying that SHE was rushing the relationship and making her seem like SHE chased after him.
It took this idiot seeing her with another dude to make him realise that he does like Sujeong and lock in and pursue her seriously.
AND THIS NIGGA HAS NOT APOLOGISED OR TAKEN ACCOUNTABILITY FOR BEING A JACKASS.
I'm sorry. I'm not inclined to feel bad or care for this bum ass mutha fucka’s hurt feelings when Sujeong starts making money from it.
Is it shitty. Sure.
But do I care? Nope.
His genuine feelings are not a get out of jail card and a write off for being a jackass and a piece of shit.
And it annoys me how a lot of readers care more about the feelings of the ML even when he did a shitty thing to the FMC but drag and burn the FMC at the stake when she returns the favour and paint her as a villain for it.
The misogyny and double standards are loud and strong.
