you see it everywhere—in your food, drinks, candy, ice cream, your cough syrup—basically that shit that spice up your tastebuds. but this is not a food blog, this is a journal of a plant that is desperately crawling out of it's semi-retirement cave! so in this context, that is what a mint is; a whimsical writer that has over 33,550,336 drafts stocked up. (i’m not sorry)

some of you might know that i’ve been here for quite a long time. i started writing in august 2020 (hAh old!) and i was inspired by a lot of peeps, mainly @peach and @ddeun. being a writer with english as my second language, it was a challenge. but i went ahead and took the opportunity to write that stepsister jingolas story. from there on, my writing hobby kicked off.

i don't wanna sound like a “bAcK iN mY dAy…” ahh guy, but genuinely in the first three years, it was a whole lotta fun. i was pumping out fics on the regs and writing almost everyday. it helps that it was a smaller community back then, so everybody pretty much knew each other, both as a writer and reader. i miss getting asks from some anons on tumblr about what kind of kinks i like for the 136th time. ah, miss those days where you have all the time in the world to spend on your hobbies.

but then reality finally hits me hard. i had to grow out of my fantasy bubble and actually get a proper job. that comes with the cost of losing most of your free time, and dimming your spark for creativity. why? well, when you're doing a job that's dull and boring for five days straight for a loooooong time, your brain eventually adapts to it, and all you can think about is work, even on weekends.

this was not what i wanted. so i tried my best to get back into reading, then writing, eventually challenging myself with prompts and taking in commissions just to put pressure on me to ignite my passion once again. it's definitely a very slow and agonizing process, but it certainly has helped me, even in a small manner. i’m not back where i wanted just yet, but i’m enjoying the journey so far.

wtf are you yapping about bro???

uh life? writing? games? the pythagorean theory? the 4th amendment? basically anything i feel at the moment! my aim in making this blog is to just make myself feel better by expressing more of my thoughts, give some fun little updates and get closer to you guys.

as a matter of fact, i’ll give you a draft update! currently working on the two commissions that i held for almost three years (goodness gracious wtf mint) and a draft that i’ve wanted to work on after a while, so hopefully i can make progress on all of it in my current burst of motivation.

oOOoOooOO someone's a poet laureate!

recently things have been tough at work. a lot of my workmates are doubtful about the management and some things were not going our way. i know i should be worried too, but honestly, i didn't wanna be tied down to just some speculations. maybe i just sound very egotistic, but i feel like it's more of a sense of gratefulness? i don't know—i’ve just been doing a lot of reminiscing lately and looking back, i feel like my life has been filled with a lot of good luck. there are times where i feel like “yeah i don't deserve this” but at the end of the day, if some miracle didn't happen to me, i wouldn't be where i am today.

tldr; always be grateful, even when everything feels tough. :D
