The Beginning

Authour’s POV

In Korea, two different people lead different lives. One of them went by the name of Kim Chaewon. She was an orphan and having left the orphanage after graduating high school, she started to look for part time jobs to feed herself. It was the year 2023. Chaewon signed up on a surrogacy website as a surrogate mother. Less than two hours after she signed up, she received an email from a man who requested her to be a surrogate mother for him and his wife. 

Chaewon’s POV

I sat by a cafe alone, waiting for this man and his wife. I was hoping by being a surrogate mother, I would get paid a lot. I looked at my phone for a bit and looked up. A couple entered the cafe and approached me to ask if I was Kim Chaewon.

“Yeap that is me! Are you Jay-nim and Joey-nim?” I asked them.

“Yes! Thanks for taking the time to see me and my husband!” Joey-nim offered her hand. 

I shook her hand and smiled. We took a seat and ordered drinks. Joey-nim then went straight to the point that she could not conceive and that she and Jay-nim were looking for a lady to be the surrogate mother.

“I am just surprised you are only twenty three and you are willing to offer your help!” Joey said.

“I mean, I just wanted to help whatever I can,” I said, clearing lying cause I just wanted the money. 

“Great! This is the agreement form. Please make sure to read and sign before we continue!” Jay-nim added.

I nodded my head, looking at the form carefully. I was surprised by the things required, which include staying with the couple of course. I kept on reading, seeing that I would be paid upfront of $5000 followed by an allowance of $1000 a month. The allowance felt so little but I was unsure if I could ask the couple for more. I looked at them who just smiled, asking me if I had any questions. 

“So, after birth, how long am I required to stay with you?” I asked.

“Oh at least six weeks. We have to ensure you make a full recovery,” Joey-nim said, smiling. 

I nodded my head and continued to read the form. Once I felt certain, I signed on it and returned it to Joey-nim. Both of us shook hands as Jay-nim asked when I could start. I looked at my phone and told them I could start as soon as tomorrow.

“Great! Please give us your home address so we can pick you up first thing in the morning,” Jay-nim said to me. 

“Got it!” I said, handing the couple my home address.

Authour’s POV

As we talk about Chaewon, the other person goes by the name of Y/N L/N. He moved to Korea in the year 2020 to start a food and beverage business. Y/N was different from all other business owners. He bought the rights to the Happy together menu from KBS and started a chain. With the business operating mainly in capitals of Southeast Asian countries, Japan, South Korea, China and Hong Kong. The business made Y/N rich but lonely at the same time. One day…

Y/N’s POV

It was like any other day and the cafe was quiet between 3pm to 5pm. I was handling the coffee machine while one of my staff was manning the counter. 

“So boss, when are you gonna go on a date again?” He asked me.

“Not sure about that Jason. Let’s not talk about that topic,” I answered him.

Jason chuckled as the door opened and we both saw a cute lady entering the shop.

“Welcome to HT cafe,” we both greeted her. 

The girl came to the counter and looked at the menu. As she was looking, I checked her out and noticed that she was not very tall. She had cute features which made me smile a little.
