I want to preface this blog by saying that nothing serious or remotely productive will be discussed here, but I do have a fun idea that we can (hopefully) adopt as a community. I thought about doing this in the town hall, but I don’t want to bother the community with something so trivial. I then thought about doing this as a tree house discussion but the entity in question does not belong to any one treehouse…
Please take my hand(s) as I walk you through my thought process:
On one hand I have the photocard mechanic that I never paid much attention to—not by choice, I might add—until recently, when the shrine thought it was appropriate to bless me with two infinity cards: Yuna 102 and Jihyo 104.
On the other hand I have the anomaly: Jollibee.
Species: Unknown.
Affiliation: Unclear.
Reason for inclusion: Pending investigation.
… And on the third hand (Yes, the lower one I use to scroll through some smuts) I have the concept of “currency” from the John Wick universe. While these gold coins have no fixed value on their own, their intrinsic worth comes from being recognized by the community as the price of a favor.
On that note, I have come before the community, asking for a favor. What if we combined what I have in each of my three hands, together?
Finally getting to the point, I propose that we compound any infinity quality cards we find into Jollibee before putting them into the trading hall; with the express purpose of turning the infinity Jollibee card into our unofficial, but recognized form of currency. It will cost a handful of cards each time and provide no tangible benefit—we would quite literally be doing it for the love of the game—but I want to keep the running joke going.
I got this idea when my grateful, but horribly damaged, brain was bothered by how messy the infinity Yuna 102 and infinity Jihyo 104 looked in my binder. It was then that I remembered that the infinity quality itself was the only part that held value and that said quality could be transferred to any other card. While infinity cards have—for a lack of a better word—infinite utility, they are only ever used in one of two ways: to keep, or to sell. The first, and arguably it’s intended use, is to add an extra level of exclusivity and value to your favourite cards. Collectors who don’t, or have yet to, see the value in this may choose to instead trade the infinity quality card for something else, keep it as a trophy, or save it for a rainy day; and these are the people I want to address.
How cool (funny) would it be if every infinity card in the trading post was an ominous red bee? How cool funny would it be if rare cards were priced in Jollibees?
Hello, esteemed owner of the elusive Heejin 108. How much do you want for the card?
Hmm well it does have a market value of 10 Jollibees, but I do understand how much you love Heejin and am willing to part with it for the low low price of 2 Jollibees.
Wow, that’s a really good deal! Are you sure?
Of course! I don’t think I’ve met anyone who loves Heejin as much as you do.
That means the world to me… Thank you so much!
In all seriousness, I would pay real money for Heejin 108, Heejin 005, and Heejin 006. For all intents and purposes, this is a joke (only if it violates the ToS).
In all seriousness, I just think this is a funny thing we could do as a community. I’ve already started the trend with a net worth of 2 Jollibees.
