Present day: Seoul, Korea — JYP Offices
(Y/N POV)
I walked down the old hallway. It smelled like floor cleaner and old paper.
I ran my fingers along the wall like I used to, stopping in front of a single door. The sign next to it was still there—the east wing of the 7th floor, long forgotten and now used mostly as storage.
Jr. Managers Office (Division 3)
Man, how quickly six years passed. It felt like I was just here.
I looked down at my watch. 8 PM. Everyone must be home for the day. I didn’t expect that interview to run that long—JYP couldn’t stop showing us his new single.
I chuckled to myself as I pressed the elevator button.
(Mina POV)
It’s 8 PM, a week before the last encore show in Seoul.
“Ha! Mina! You forgot the steps again?!” Nayeon exclaimed, looking at me with tired eyes.
“Sorry! I can’t figure out the slide movement during the stage transition.” I’m so distracted… “Let’s take a short break. I know I can get this before we go.”
“Good idea. Should we do something special when we change from your solo stage to mine?” Nayeon winked as she flopped onto the couch, reaching for her iced coffee.
She noticed me glance at my bag sitting on the floor next to the monitors.
“Mina… you usually don’t struggle with, um, really anything… Are you alright?”
Her question snapped me out of my thoughts.
“Sorry, Unnie, I just…” I instinctively glanced at my bag again. “Maybe we should pick this up tomorrow. Do you want to grab dinner before heading back to the apartment?”
Nayeon studied me carefully, a small knowing smile forming.
“Let’s go. Want to pick up some kimbap before heading back?”
She popped up, grabbing her stuff and shoving it into her oversized bag.
I walked over and grabbed mine, immediately checking my phone.
No new posts…
I sighed internally, sliding my bag over my shoulder.
He’s in Seoul. Closer than he’s been in years.
As we shuffled out into the hallway, she looped her arm into mine, pulling me close.
She tilted her head up at me, smiling. “Unnie?”
“What’s got you so distracted, Mina? Is it maybe… a boy?!” Nayeon teased, grabbing my hand.
“It’s not… well… I… just—”
The words wouldn’t come like they normally do. My cheeks burned pink as we stood in front of the elevator.
Nayeon smiled, her signature bunny teeth showing. “Oh wow, our Mina is smitten. Who is this mystery man?”
The elevator dinged and the doors slid open.
Nice. Empty. No one can see my face and neck glowing with embarrassment.
I pressed the lobby button while Nayeon stared at me with that same knowing smile.
“Unnie, please… I’ll tell you everything. Let’s just get home.”
Nayeon waved to security. “Annyeong!” she called, while I walked ahead toward the front door.
I stopped dead in my tracks, my sneakers squeaking loudly against the tile.
My breath caught.
My vision tunneled.
Time froze.
Through the glass doors, I saw him.
Tall. Handsome. Broad-shouldered.Standing under the soft amber streetlights, hands in his pockets, staring out into space.
Just like he used to.
Six years had changed a lot.
But those feelings…
They came rushing back all at once.
(Y/N POV)
Seoul’s night air bit into me as I stared into the distance, waiting for the company car.
I had come straight from the airport for the interview—and it did not disappoint.
I glanced down at the new JYP lanyard around my neck.
