seoyeon aftercare in the ER (A&E for the singaporeans (and the brits, i guess))
Granted, only half of this is your fault.
She lays steady on the bed, as if eyeing her toes under the stark white blanket that covers her lower half. There's no look about her that signifies anything like pity, weakness, or shame; only a tiny little bit of boredom at not chilling at home with her man.
"Sorry." You hand finds her hers again, and she looks up with a bright smile. Her lip is busted, cheek swollen, eye nearly there. Her wrist is wrapped in red, so is her forearm.
Yet there's nothing but love in her eyes, "Ish ah-hight, Ohha," she mumbles through her mouth full-to-bursting with cotton, "Ah hihn't thop you."
A nurse enters, looking concerned with every page of Seoyeon's clipboard she flips through. "Uh, miss, I'll have to fix you up a little bit. Can your guardian please fill up some forms outside—"
"He hihn't ahuse ne," with the same joyful grin. She twiddles her toes and hums a weird sort of tune, rubs what she can of the back of your hand with what she can move of her thumb. "We hus hot harried ahay."
"Yeah, we, uh..."
"She has moderate abrasions on her wrists," the nurse starts.
"Heguhar huffs were ruhty," chimes Seoyeon.
"Bruised neck?"
"Choking, went overboard," you answer.
"First degree burns all over?"
"Candles... four, I think?"
The nurse can only stare, each answer surprising her more than the last. All through it, Seoyeon grins, twiddling her toes, leaning her head against your shoulder while still being careful of the bandage on her forehead.
It's not your typical Friday night with Seoyeon, but it does serve as a lesson: she can't handle wants she wants, or at least, not yet.
