Jimin knew she had feelings for Minjeong way before the confession the other night.
And Jimin knew it was when she found out that Minjeong was wrapped in her beddings waiting for her.
It wasn’t supposed to happen.
Her feelings—they just took control over her, and she couldn’t keep them in any longer. It was exactly what Aeri said. That there was still a soft spot somewhere inside her fucked up heart.
And maybe she knew it wasn’t supposed to happen because hybrids were usually kept as pets and not lovers. Objects for sex, yes, definitely. But not one to claim as a partner.
Has anyone ever been infatuated with a hybrid before? Maybe. She wasn’t sure. That shit never happened on her planet. Most of the hybrids were raped or killed and nothing in between.
Then again, this was Minjeong. Anyone with eyes could tell that Minjeong was beautiful in so many ways. Jimin felt like she hadn’t expressed herself enough regarding that. Despite her small frame, her skinny limbs and the paleness of her face. She was absolutely gorgeous.
Maybe no one could ever look at Minjeong the way Jimin did.
Jimin wouldn’t allow others to see her that way. It was laughable. But Jimin wasn’t joking around with how she felt towards the hybrid.
It could be wrong in many ways; Salted Moon could have their own barbaric form of ownership towards hybrids. Jimin realized only then that she could have Minjeong differently. Something that she deemed more worthy for the hybrid.
Minjeong had been through so much, it was evident with the scars on her body, the way she flinched and cried. Even with the small stories that she had been gradually telling Jimin. It was enough to know that Minjeong didn’t belong anywhere else but in The Barrens, and in her pack.
Jimin believed that Minjeong was meant to be with her.
If only she knew how Minjeong felt about her as well.
Her kisses were enough—more than enough, really—but what did the hybrid know about the kind of love that wasn’t between a pet and its owner. Did she understand that Jimin felt something much, much more than that?
The drapes from the entrance were pulled away and the omega walked inside freely like a habit. Jimin could smell Yizhuo's usual scent, but she still kept her eyes on her desk.
That was one way to interrupt her worries.
Maybe it was a good thing.
“Chief—“
A sudden pause, and there was no follow through. Yizhuo just interrupted herself.
Jimin looked up at her adviser, raising a brow. Wondering why she suddenly did that, and why was she looking at her like that. “Yes?”
The omega’s eyes were wide, brows shot up and her jaw was slightly slacked open. Jimin suddenly remembered why she was reacting that way, but she wasn’t in the mood to explain.
“I—I was—“ her adviser then cleared her throat and pointed to the exit. “Should I leave? Am I disturbing you two?”
The comment made Jimin smirk. She glanced down at Minjeong, who was still clinging onto her torso as she was working on her desk.
Jimin honestly couldn’t remember how this all started. Because she remembered being in bed with Minjeong, the two cuddled, then she bathed and once she came back to her tent, the hybrid already found her way to Jimin’s torso and clung to her like it was a lifeline.
And the thing that made all of this amusing was how Minjeong didn’t bother to budge when Jimin had to do something. So as Jimin was walking around her tent, from the bed to the desk, to her wardrobe; Minjeong made no attempt to release her or use her legs to walk.
She honestly shouldn't be complaining about this. Minjeong had stolen her heart for quite some time and her feelings had bloomed into something more that Jimin wouldn't want her any other way.
The kiss may have sealed the deal for her.
At least Minjeong had consented to it and that she may have felt the same. The hybrid returned her kiss, and she held onto her in a way Jimin knew it meant reciprocation. So, she was pretty sure of herself that Minjeong liked her as well.
Plus, with the way that Minjeong was hugging her at that moment, leaving small kisses on her collarbone and shoulder, should be the answer she needed.
“No, you’re not,” Jimin said simply, hand reaching up to caress Minjeong’s back like a habit. “Just don’t tell her to get off. I’ve been trying since earlier.”
Minjeong suddenly whined, ears folded back and nuzzled herself closer to Jimin, the legs hugging her waist tightened and the alpha couldn’t help but smile at this.
“I know, I know,” Jimin cooed at her.
Yizhuo blinked.
“Right,” she breathed out. And after finally taking herself out of the trance, she finally stepped closer to the table, and it made Jimin raise a brow.
“Yes?”
Yizhuo copied the expression but shook her head after. “I’m here to give Minjeong a bath.”
“Ah, right.” Jimin then looked down at Minjeong and gave her a small smile, hand still resting on the swell of the hybrid's back. “Alright, go along now.”
Minjeong didn’t budge. She simply held her even tighter and whined. It made Jimin let out a weak laugh.
As much as Jimin enjoyed this, she knew Yizhuo wasn’t the patient type. She patted Minjeong on the back. “Minjeong,” she called, and the hybrid whined again. “Yizhuo is waiting for you.”
To no surprise Minjeong still refused to move, and if she did, she just snuggled closer to Jimin. She could only chuckle at how adorable and clingy the hybrid was. But Yizhuo was waiting and Jimin wanted her to freshen up since baths usually got Minjeong in a good mood; it was something that the alpha noticed for quite some time.
Jimin shifted their positions, fully embracing Minjeong with her arms, pressing their fronts together and Minjeong hummed in satisfaction. But Jimin tilted her head to whisper in her ear. “Please go and take a bath, baby.” Then she laid a soft kiss on the side of her head, close to her cheek. “The sooner you can get it done, the sooner you can come back to my arms, okay?”
Minjeong took a moment to respond, as if the conditions that she was weighing were waging wars inside her head. But she sighed, her body growing limp and her grip loosening. With a cute huff, Minjeong finally detached herself from Jimin, a small pout on her lips and Jimin wanted to kiss it away.
The hybrid nodded sadly. “Okay.”
But that made Jimin smile widely, grabbing Minjeong’s hand and kissing the back of it briefly. “Good girl.”
She loved the way the hybrid's ears turned red at the endearment, but Jimin didn't want to waste another moment, and coaxed her to go already. Tilting her head sideways as she watched as Minjeong was taken away by Yizhuo. She couldn't help but smile with the way that Minjeong was sticking herself closely to Yizhuo, taking the omega by surprise.
But they probably knew that the hybrid was finally coming out of her shell and allowing herself to be taken care of by Jimin and her pack. The alpha was sure that Minjeong would never be harmed in any way as long as she was with them and if she was always right next to her.
It could be her possessiveness talking, but Jimin didn't like the idea of anyone else touching her hybrid.
Once they were out of sight, Jimin finally looked away to return to her work. But the sound of someone clearing their throat made her look up again. To no surprise, Aeri was standing in front of her desk.
“What the fuck was that?” Aeri asked pointedly, looking at Jimin as if she was a strange creature.
Jimin raised a brow. “The what?”
