    *BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!*

An Yujin slowly woke up and fluttered her eyes open to the sound of a blaring alarm coming from her side.

Staring at her blank white ceiling, she still felt her eyes blink heavily as if they wanted to sleep more yet the alarm told her not to. She sighed, glancing towards the windows of her room

Dim sunlight lit up the world outside as the sun still had to rise up fully.

Yujin looked around her dark room before sinking down into her soft pillows.

She shuffled her body underneath her covers when she felt her legs ache from all of the activities she did the day prior.

Going out to their agency to practice tiresome performances then arriving late at home after filming show after show, she was indeed due for a much needed rest. But for the life of an idol, rest would be the least of their priorities if it meant getting a good paycheck.

She turned to lay on her side before reaching for her phone on the nightstand. Tapping the phone to turn on, her eyes adjusted to the brightness of the screen. Swiping the alarm off, she softly placed it back right after.

Now looking at the stillness of the room and the silence outside of it, she would assume that the rest of the girls were still fast asleep and she was the first one to wake up like usual.

    *STEP! STEP! STEP!*

The sounds of footsteps suddenly came from the door along with more sounds of shuffling and movement, it seemed like one of her members had woken up earlier than her.

Her first assumption is that it was their eldest member, Gaeul. She was usually the one who accompanied Yujin in the morning while the other members opted to sleep more during their off days.

Yujin flipped the covers off her body, meeting the chilly air inside of her room. She slowly threw her legs off to the side as she sat up from her bed.

She stretched her arms above her then to her side before giving her knees a good slap to wake herself up fully. She quickly winced in pain, once her hands hit her kneecap.

Slowly pulling up her pajamas on both of her legs, she was met with the dark colored spots that she had gained through her hours of practice the days prior.

The girl sighed, realizing that today might be once again filled with a packed schedule. She slowly shifted legs closer and closer to her door before she twisted the doorknob.

Walking into the hallway, she heard the sounds of soft chit-chatter coming from the living room of their dorm.

She walked into the sight of the rest of her group already awake. Yujin would welcome the sight if it weren’t for the fact that they were huddled around the couch as they chatted.

“Good…morning?” Yujin greeted the other girls in the room. They all turned towards her with worried looks on each and every one of their faces which made their leader think that it wasn’t anything near a good morning.

“Yujin-ah, could I have a word with you?” Gaeul asked her leader, raising a hand to gesture to her to get closer.

Yujin eagerly nodded her head before the older member ushered her to the kitchen which was quite the distance away from their other group members. She looked as space opened up to peek at Leeseo who was sitting down on the cushions of the couch.

Wonyoung seemed to have taken over the role of consoling their youngest member along with Rei and Liz.

“Is something wrong? Seems like there’s a lot going on.” Yujin asked with Gaeul unfortunately nodding her head to answer her question.

“You see, I spotted Leeseo trying to make herself something to drink earlier. When I checked up on her, it turns out that she was heating up from a fever. She also admitted to being fatigued so I let her sit down for the time being.” Gaeul carefully explained.

She then pointed to the kitchen counter where a lonely cup stood by a tea kettle.

“Is that so? What about the others?” Yujin returned a question, glancing over to her group members.

“I’m sure they don’t want to admit it but they’re also tired and fatigued. We haven’t gotten enough rest for a couple of days, even Wonyoung isn’t doing too well herself.” Gaeul replied, seemingly having her spirit disappear from her entirely.

“How about you, unnie? I’m sure you’re very tired too.” Yujin leaned down slightly towards the girl in front of her that just shook her off.

“I should be the least of your worries. For now, I think you should ask the manager for a couple days off for us, just to recover by a little bit. This isn’t some favor but it’s something we really need.” Gaeul pleaded with her hands holding one another.

Yujin sighed before biting down on her lip softly in thought.

As their leader, she also had the role of looking over the rest of her members. Fortunately, she had Gaeul to help her with the task of doing so but seeing them in such a state, made her want to stand up for them.

Despite this, she knew their company all too well. They impose a strict set of rules and guidelines that idols like them had to follow but speaking up against their hectic schedule wasn’t one of them.

Despite the company regulations have nothing to say about it, their manager might have something to say. They were not as strict with their group before compared to recent times.

Yujin could even say that they had more freedom back then compared to now. But as their fame grew, their grip on their group tightened often resulting with jam-packed schedules every so often.

Their manager would probably immediately turn down their offer for a few days off if it meant losing out on show appearances.

But it didn’t hurt to try, right?

This time it concerned the health and feelings of their group and if anything, that should be put first above everything else. She might not want to admit it but she too could use a break.

“Fine, I’ll give the company a visit later and I’ll ask for some days off.” Yujin assured the girl in front of her with a nod. Gaeul smiled before she wrapped an arm around her leader’s side and hugged her softly.

“Thank you~” Gaeul cooed out as Yujin welcomed her gesture gladly.

“Don’t worry about it. For now, how about we check up on Leeseo?” Yujin slicked back the sides of her hair before pulling the sleeves of her pajamas.

“You go do that while I look for a hot meal to give her. I think there’s still some ramen packs here.” Gaeul said before letting go of the girl to walk to the kitchen.

Her leader sighed, putting her hands into her pockets before walking over to the other girls. Wonyoung stood tall in front of Leeseo while her two other unnies sat by her side, patting her back and rubbing her shoulder to comfort her.

“How is she holding up? Gaeul unnie told me everything, hopefully you three aren’t sick as well.” Yujin took the space next to Wonyoung who was holding a thermometer in her hands.

She reached out an arm at her youngest member and softly cupped the side of her cheek.

“Her temperature is 38.5, which is high enough but it could get even higher if she doesn’t drink a paracetamol tablet soon.” Wonyoung explained, placing the thermometer inside of a small pink pouch that was also on the couch.

“Wuah, Wonyoung sounds like a doctor.” Rei commented, leaning back on the cushions.

“And a pretty one at that.” Liz continued as she held her head up with her arm that was pushing itself into the back of the couch.

“Since that’s the case, why don’t we take the day off, hm?~” Leeseo leaned her head on her leader’s hand as she felt how warm she was.

“Really?” the girls around Yujin suddenly said, even Leeseo who seemed to wake up at the palm of her hand.

“I-i mean, yeah I guess I don’t mind the day off.” Wonyoung corrected herself before looking away, crossing her arms.

Yujin could only chuckle at them. It looks like they were all truly desperate for some time that could be used for them to relax and rejuvenate themselves which made her trip to their agency even more meaningful.

“Yeah, I’ll stop by and ask the manager for some days off. It shouldn’t be that hard, you guys should rest up after Gaeul unnie serves you breakfast.”

“Oh she’s cooking something? I can help!” Liz raised her hand, volunteering herself to help with the eldest’s cooking duties. She quickly stood up from the couch and walked towards the kitchen

“I’ll go too just to make sure she doesn’t burn anything by accident.” Rei sighed out, standing up from Leeseo’s side and earning herself giggles from Yujin and the tall bunny girl before she turned towards her leader.

Yujin leaned down once more and grabbed one of the soft pillows beside her.

“You should lay down while you wait for the food, Leeseo.” She tapped the young girl’s shoulder, placing the pillow down on one of the far sides of the couch.

Leeseo nodded her head, pulling up the hood of the rather thick hoodie she wore

“Are you really going there alone? I can go with you.” Wonyoung offered.

“No, it’s fine. I can do it on my own plus you look like you could use the day off.” The girl jokingly replied.

“Aish, what’s that supposed to mean?” Wonyoung pouted her lips before she lightly slapped her leader’s shoulder.

“Don’t think about it too much. Could you grab a blanket for Leeseo? The thicker it is, the better.” Yujin asked the girl standing next to her. She mumbled something under her breath before walking away to look for a blanket.

IVE’s leader then focused her attention to her youngest member that had her eyes closed, seemingly already in her dreams.

“If we do get a vacation, I know a good place we can go to relax, unnie~” Leeseo strained out softly.

Sighing out softly, Yujin softly ran her hand over the young girl’s head. Her heart grew heavy, seeing her in this state.

“Really? I wonder where that might be~” Yujin whispered back at her.

“The peaceful town of Gyeokpo-ri~” Leeseo cooed out.

“Gosh, you really want to go, hm?” She chuckled.

The young girl nodded her head slowly, turning herself slightly to lay on her side.

“I’ve lost track of how many times you’ve asked me that and I’m afraid that you’ll go there yourself.”

“Then we should head there before I do so.” Leeseo’s lips curved into a small smile.

“I’ll…think about it.” Was all Yujin could reply to the young girl.

“Unnie~” The sick girl whined out as her lips turned into a pout. Her eyes widened enough to try and make her leader have some sympathy for her humble request.

“Fine, fine, we’ll go there…someday.” Yujin shot her a smug smile.

“Hmph!” Leeseo puffed her cheeks out before pulling down the hood over her face and quickly turning to face the other side of the couch.

As Yujin went inside their company with a heavy weight on her shoulder. not ideal especially for her who has a practice. The focus she needed is already diverted into something.

Entering the building, Yujin decided to go through the halls to find her manager and ask for a humble request of a few days off. Walking between the concrete walls, Yujin arrived at the front door of their manager’s office.

She had a sense of nervousness jittering through her hands but on the other hand, she felt that she had to do this not only for herself but for her members too.

    *KNOCK! *KNOCK!* KNOCK!*

Yujin knocked on the wooden door a couple of times as her other hand held onto its doorknob. Twisting and then pushing it open slightly, the cold air from inside the room pushed itself out, blowing around her as it did.

She walked inside of the office and spotted an older woman, sitting behind a desk deeper into the room. She was busy looking down on her phone, not even noticing that the idol she was managing has entered her office.

“Manager-nim, could we hav-,” Yujin tried to take her chance but she was interrupted.

“Good morning, Yujin-ssi? What can I do for you? Please take a seat.” Their manager asked, looking up from their phone.

“I know that our concert is still months away and there isn’t anything major coming up so I was wondering if we could get some days of-” Yujin asked as she sat down on a seat in front of the manager’s desk.

“Yujin-ssi, I’m afraid I can’t grant you your request. There are already things lined up for you girls to do today and I can’t just cancel them all.” Their manager explained, with a shake of her head.

“I’m afraid you don’t understand. We can’t go on our schedule today.” Yujin replied with emphasis in her words. She sat up straight, politely placing her hands down on her lap.

“Why is that? I didn’t expect you to be carrying such bad news.”

    “You see, Leeseo wo-”

“Aish, that brat again? What did she do this time?” The woman bluntly said, scrunching down her face.

“E-excuse me? What was that?” Yujin’s eyes widened suddenly. She raised a hand to rub the side of her ears, thinking if she heard her manager correctly.

“She has been a little brat ever since, don’t you know that? Aish, she’s always been a tough one to manage as if the others are any easier.”

Yujin couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She could bear with her being strict with her group but calling her brats so bluntly was something she wasn’t expecting at all nor was it something acceptable.

“Keep it between us but I favor you more than the other girls. At least you know how to work hard and you don’t expect to be treated like a princess every time.” Their manager continued.

Yujin stayed silent as she furrowed her brows. She gulped down a deep breath, clenching down her hand into a fist and trying to keep her cool though she felt like couldn’t for much longer.

“She’s also kind of a brat that looks like a twig on stage, could you at least tell her to put on some weig-”

“Have you lost your mind?” Yujin suddenly raised her voice.

“What are you talking about, Yujin?~ I’m only telling the truth here.”

“The truth? What about bad mouthing your idols is the truth?!” The girl stood up from her seat, breathing heavily from her anger.

“Why are you suddenly raising your voice at me, ah? Don’t tell me you’re actually defending those spoiled bra-”

“Of course, I am! What gave you the audacity to say that when you can barely do your job right?!” Yujin’s voice cracked out in anger.

“I’ve been in this business much longer than you and you tell me that I’m not doing my job right, are you stupid?!” The manager raised her voice, matching the tone of the girl in front of her.

“Yeah, you don’t even manage our schedules properly. It’s one busy schedule after another, we barely have time to rest for fuck’s sake!”

The leader of IVE was fuming and only just as the first thing she was thinking was the welfare of her members, especially Leeseo who is busy recovering back in their dorm.

“The company wanted to grab every opportunity with you all,”

The manager responded, which made Yujin snap a nerve and look at her manager fiercely. Stress and disappointment radiated from Yujin as her manager just looked at her with a stoic face.

“Opportunity? You just want your half of the paycheck for the concerts we perform in and the shows we appear in.” The group’s leader pointed to her chest firmly.

“What’s this? Are you also calling me a thief when my cut just comes with the job!”

“That’s right. You’re nothing but a thief and someone who doesn’t deserve a job from how you treat us.” Yujin shouted with stinging venom in her voice, not even thinking her actions through as her mind was not for her anymore, it’s for her members.

She could only watch as her manager walked from the side of her desk to stand right in front of her.

“I am in no way to disobey the orders from above. We’re on the same boat An Yujin-ssi, so if I were you? Do your job while I do mine hmm?” The manager responded sarcastically before she shoved her shoulder, sending the girl stumbling back.

This would only lead to Yujin’s anger to its boiling point. She tried to push her other shoulder when the girl grabbed her arm and tightened her grip around it, making the manager wince in pain.

“Who said that you can lay a finger on me?” She threw her hand to the side.

“I can’t believe that you have no sense of humanity in your heart. Clear your desk and office, consider this as your last- No, I’ll make sure this is your last day.” Yujin continued and barged out of the room, harshly closing the door behind her.

    .

    .

    .

The manager just chuckled and sat on her table with her hand grabbing her phone that was on a call on someone, a call that had a certain red dot blinking on top of the screen.

“Hey, you got that?” The manager asked the other person in line.

“Really? Heh, that’s somewhat of a relief? Me? Oh I’m fine, very fine~” The manager smirked devilishly.

The person on the other line was rejoicing as if they just stepped on gold. The manager smirked and looked at the window inside her office, looking at the bustling city.

“You want a few days off, Yujin? I’ll make sure you have a full on vacation and I’ll make sure she remembers the name Nam Youkyung.”

    *SQUAWK!* *SQUAWK!* *SQUAWK!*

    .

The salty sea air blew into the humble harbor that connected the town of Gyeokpo-ri to the sea. Ships were lined up across the edge of the wooden pier, some were tied up while some were anchored down and were still ready to go on for more trips to the sea.

(YN) slowly walked across the other side of the harbor where fishermen and fish vendors made their livelihood. Such sights were normal for the small fishing town.

The man wasn’t there to buy a fresh supply of seafood but rather to do his job as a journalist for the town’s local news station.

Who better to write news about the town than the one person who knew everything like the back of his hand?

(YN) had his hands in the pockets of his coat.

With spring rolling around, the harbor had become more lively, from the fishermen unloading barrels and cages filled with different fish and crustaceans they had gathered to the vendors that washed them to sell at the local market.

As the man walked along the wet path, he saw a small boat make its way ashore behind the rest. He then jogged on his way, recognizing the boat and wanting to help out even by a tiny bit.

“Mr.Lee! Good morning!” (YN) waved an arm in the air as he approached the boat.

The man fixing the ropes inside of the boat looked up at him and nodded his head to reply.

“I didn’t think I’d see you here today, (YN)-ah!” The man yelled back, standing back up straight.

Mr.Lee was another one of the mighty fishermen the town had to offer. He worked hard all across the year, bringing in cage after cage of seafood each time he made his way back from the sea.

“Sorry, I should have told you in advance!” (YN) replied with a polite bow.

“What are you in for today? You don’t look like you’re ready to go fishing with me though.” The man pointed to the other’s outfit that really made him stand out among the crowd around the harbor.

“Not today, Mr.Lee. Today, I’m a journalist and I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions.” (YN) turned to his bag before he picked out a small brown notebook and a voice recorder.

“Wuah, you really should have told me you were stopping by. I should at least have gotten myself ready for an interview.” Mr.Lee gestured at the raincoat that he wore over his clothes.

“No need for that, all I need is your voice, Mr.Lee.” (YN) shook his hand.

“I’ll do it but could you help me carry these cages out? On second thought, give me a second. I don’t want you to smell of fish when you go to work.” The man turned around the metal boxes filled with fishes in his boat.

(YN) was adamant enough to lend a helping hand as he took a step closer to the boat.

“I mean it, so don’t step another step closer!” Mr.Lee shouted, turning around to face the younger boy.

“Fine, I’ll go grab you a trolley instead.” (YN) smiled before turning around and walking back deeper into the port.

“I told you there’s no ne-” Mr.Lee could only sigh watching his figure looking for a cart from his small boat. He turned back to the cages in front of him before he started unloading them out of the boat one by one.

With the last cage out of the boat, the man straightened his back that seemed to get worse through age.

“I’m back!” (YN) stopped in front of the cages laid out on the floor. After parking the trolley in his arms to the side, he picked up the cages and placed them on the cart.

He did it without the second thought of his clothes ending up with the stench of freshly caught fish.

Mr.Lee slowly raised a leg over the edge of his boat to get out but he couldn’t push himself out.

“Let me help you up.” The man looked up to see (YN) standing in front of him, his arm stretched out to give the nan a helping hand.

The older man had to admit, (YN) was a quick and neat worker, one that could find a place to work at any place imaginable.

Mr.Lee held the hand in front him and slowly lifted himself out of the boat.

“Now, what did you want to ask me?” He asked the young man, patting his hands dry on the coat over him.

“Right, please give me a moment.” (YN) smiled before he started rummaging through his bag to look for the items he needed.

    .

    .

    .

“Are you sure my answer is enough for your report?”

Mr.Lee and (YN) walked side by side through the busy harbor with the younger boy pushing the trolley. They were head to one of the tents, one that belonged to the significant other of the older man.

“Of course it is, Mr.Lee! Actually it’s more than enough, it’s perfect! It’s short, straight to the point and not exaggerated at all. Now all I have to do is type my report out.” (YN) replied loudly as he smiled.

“I see. I must say that you still cease to amaze me with the many jobs you have but don’t you think that those won’t be enough to make a living out of?” Mr.Lee grumbled out towards the young man.

“I appreciate the sentiment but why suddenly ask me that, Mr.Lee?”

“Well, our town is small to start with. Why don’t you want to move to the city to earn more money like um…what’s her name again?” The older man turned to ask with a confused look on his face with (YN) replying with the same confused expression.

“That girl you were always with back then! I remember that you two would stop by on your way to the beach. Aish…I can’t seem to remember her name.” Mr.Lee held his chin in between his fingers.

“Are you talking about Yujin?” (YN) sighed out in the complete opposite tone that he was using earlier.

“That’s right, Yujin! She’s the one that moved to Seoul. I heard she became very famous now, I wonder if she could still remember our little town~” Mr.Lee smiled, placing his arms on his back.

“I doubt it.” The young man answered bluntly.

“Is that so? Why don’t you want to be like Yujin? Maybe you could even bring little Seowon along. Last I heard, everything is cheaper in Seoul, even the housing.”

(YN) slowed down his pace until he eventually stopped with the trolley braking with a loud screech, catching Mr.Lee’s attention and making him turn to look at him.

“I’m already the same as her though. She went to Seoul and paved her life there, and I’m doing the same thing but here in Gyeokpo-ri.” The young man said eagerly.

(YN) wasn’t one to admit it but in reality, he wouldn’t mind moving away to any other place but the capital. That would only risk him seeing the one person he never wanted to see again.

It was only a small probability but he wanted to be safe rather than sorry.

“Is that so? Fine if you’re paving your life here, then I won’t stop you from doing so today. Now, hand me this.” Mr.Lee walked closer and softly pushed him away from the trolley.

(YN) didn’t put up much of a fight. He moved himself to the side, letting the old man hold the handle. He only worried if the older man could push it further down the path.

“You still have a paper to do, don’t you? I can take it from here, don’t worry.” Mr.Lee gestured him to get on with his day.

“R-really? I should get going then but I’ll come back on another day! Thank you for helping out with the interview Mr.Lee!” (YN) politely bowed, bidding farewell to the older man. He slowly turned away before waving and starting to walk away from the humble harbor.

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    “Now what do I do…”

(YN) finds himself sitting alone at a local restaurant. He focused on the bowl of Jajangmyeon in front of him as he mixed the dark sauce with the noodles and its toppings.

With the bright sun shining down on the small town, he figured that it was the perfect time to head somewhere to eat while he thought of a place to make his news report.

His trusty old laptop had finally decided to pass on into the electronic afterlife a few weeks ago and he had to wait for the new one had ordered to arrive so he had to think of a new way to do a paper.

The town doesn’t exactly have a place where the people could use computers freely. Typing on his phone wasn’t an option either seeing as it would be a hassle in general to write a whole document on one.

The next best place would be the town hall but writing down a report wasn’t really a valid reason to walk in and ask for a computer but he was willing to try if he was truly desperate.

He doubts that any of his neighbors would have one setup seeing as most of them preferred the older technology over the new ones of today’s age and that included the An househo-

    “A penny for your thoughts?”

(YN) was suddenly dragged out of his thoughts when a voice came from his side, one that he had heard discuss to her class of kids earlier in the morning.

“H-hanni? What are you doing here?” He asked the girl looking down at him as she stood beside his table.

“The other teachers and I decided to go out for lunch here and I just so happen to spot you when we got inside. You seemed to be lost in thought though.” Hanni explained with a smile as pointed a thumb over her shoulder.

(YN) took a look to where she pointed to and found a group of women sitting at the other side of the small restaurant.

“No, I wasn-I mean I was but-yeah, it’s really nothing big.” (YN) stammered out, trying to explain what was going on inside his mind.

“Really? It must be something bothering you if you were spaced out like that.” Hanni chuckled, placing a hand over her lips to cover her smile.

“It’s nothing, just something work related.” (YN) said through the sounds of him mixing his noodles.

“Oh did something happen in the flower shop?” Hanni asked right back.

“No, you remember that I work as a journalist too, right?” (YN) answered her with a shake of his head.

    “Mhm.” Hanni hummed out.

“You see, I need to have a report finished by the afternoon and I don’t exactly have a place to do it. I’m thinking of going to the next town to look for a place.” Scratching the back of his head, (YN) explained himself carefully.

“You could’ve told me that earlier! I could’ve let you use one in the school’s computer room.”

“I was thinking of that but I was also thinking that they’d lock the room off if some man just wandered in, wanting to use a computer.” (YN) continued, glancing back down on his food.

“Don’t you worry, if they lock you out then I’m your key! I can ask for the keys to the room and accompany you while you’re there.” Hanni smiled widely, placing a hand over her chest.

“It’s fine, Hanni. Don’t you have classes to teach in the afternoon?” (YN) tried to wave her offer away.

“Not until three that is. Plus, I can even help out. I may know a thing or two about making reports.” Her nose scrunched upwards as she smiled.

“Since you offered so nicely, I’ll take you up on it. I appreciate it truly, Hanni.” (YN) also didn’t want to show that he was bursting of uncontrollable joy on the inside.

“Oh don’t worry about it, think of it as another way of paying you back.” Hanni smiled widely, pushing some of her hair to the back of her ear.

“I’ll go finish up my meal so I could get to work sooner then.” (YN) turned the bowl of black noodles before him. He grabbed some of them with the use of his chopsticks before giving them a soft blow to make sure they weren’t hot enough to burn his tongue.

“I’ll head back to the other teachers, I’ll tell them the plan and hopefully we can get approval as well.” Hanni gave him a quick bow before retreating back to her co-workers that were sitted at the other side of the restaurant.

    .

    .

    .

    *TYPING NOISES!*

    .

    .

    .

(YN) carefully looked at the screen in front of him. His hands carefully typed in word after word he thought of for the report he was making. He then glided the mouse at the top half of the document, rereading it from the start.

“You missed a comma here.” Hanni leaned in from his side as she scooted her chair closer to him.

“Right, thank you.” He quickly fixed his mistake and ran his vision across the other paragraphs present. He was so engrossed in his work that he stayed silent for most of the time the two stayed in the dark computer room.

Hanni leaned back on her seat, her hands resting on her lap. She glanced back to the man beside her and looked at the serious expression on his face. That alone could tell her that he was serious about his job and that alone could make her heart flutter within her chest.

“How could you look so cute when you’re serious?~” Hanni mumbled out softly.

“What was that?” (YN) snapped his head at her, his brows raised slightly upwards.

“I-i said t-tamarind soup would sound so delicious.” Hanni stammered out, turning her head to avoid his gaze.

“Tamarind soup? You’re still hungry after lunch?” (YN) asked innocently.

    “A little bit..” Hanni mumbled.

“Well you could go and stop by the canteen. I’m pretty much done with this anyways.” (YN) relaxed on his chair, his hand scrolling through the word-filled document the computer mouse.

“Really? Let me take a look.” Hanni leaned in closer and looked at the document. The man sat still, letting her read through all of it. He carefully watched the woman’s eyes squint at his work, a sign that she was checking it.

“I must say, this is well made. No wonder you haven’t lost your job in the news station for a year or two now.” Hanni commented.

“Thank you?…” (YN) questioningly said, not sure if what she said was a compliment.

“Now, let me just print it for you and…voila!~” Hanni clicked around the document and with one final click, the large printer beside them whirred itself to life and started eating one of the papers placed inside.

“Did you know that this was a dance room back in the day?”

“Gosh, you’re speaking like you graduated from this school a decade ago.” Hanni giggled.

“Half a decade is still quite the long time.” (YN) told her shortly after.

Hanni crossed her arms across her chest. “Are you sure this was a dance room? When I got here a few years back, this was already filled with old computers.”

“Oh I’m very sure. There used to be a big mirror right over there, a big speaker on that corner over there and the lights used to be much brighter.” (YN) pointed to one corner after the other before looking up at the dim lights above them that made the room darker than it should be.

“So you were part of the school’s dance club back then? Never took you for a dancer though.”

“Trust me, I’m no dancer. I usually hung around these parts of the school because of…” (YN)’s voice started to trail off.

Hanni looked at the side of his face as he blankly stared into the computer screen in front of him. His lips pursed up slightly before shaking his head.

    He continued,

“…no reason, I just hung around these parts.”

Hanni knew little of the man’s past other than he lived in this town for all his life, everybody knowing who he was and that he knew a lot about flowers so his past intrigued the small woman.

Maybe he was some sort of genius that didn’t want to move away or maybe he was just an earnest man trying to make a living and paying back the town that he called home, maybe even both.

“I wonder what’s on the news.” (YN) mumbled out, opening the computer’s browser. The search bar quickly popped up as he typed down a website just as quick.

“What’s this?..” Hanni softly said, leaning closer into the man’s shoulder and to the computer screen.

Just then, article after article popped up on the screen but one seemingly grabbed the pair’s attention immediately seeing that it was the one on top of the news site and it was in bold letters.
