Introduction

I guess this is me.

Hi, my name is Valentine, a kfic writer that really, really likes Miyawaki Sakura.

I’ve been a long time reader (around idk, ‘22?) but never really peaked into the community/started writing until Feb ‘25. Never really thought about writing at all before that but life gave me some lemons to play with and here I am making lemonade with them.

And I truly do mean that, the sheer thought of writing fanfiction has never once crossed my mind until that moment in time where I was stuck in a bit of a pickle in life where I said yeah Val, pick up a new hobby.

Coincidentally, I made my debut a week after @capslocked’s Paris, which featured a throwaway line about St. Valentine being an incel and getting his head decapitated. Canonically, this man has now birthed Valentine Drifter into existence and has since run amok writing fanfics about pretty women (specifically Sakura, did you guys know I like her alot?)

Started off with a Karina debut, straight into writing Sakura mymeowmeow, and then lost my mind when I decided yeah, I should definitely try to write a fluffy smut about Somi. You know, the one girl who’s Thirst Trap 9000 that is not named Yuna?

And don’t even get me started on Minjeollibee.

Anywho, writing has since become less of a ‘coping mechanism’ (odd way to get over something by writing porn, but 2025 Val had the power of alcohol on his side to convince him to push through), and more of a hobby that I’ve gotten to appreciate over time and over the words that have left my fingertips and typed onto a keyboard.

It’s fun, in all three letters and in all sense of the word. While I never was (still am) plot heavy as I look more into kinks than anything (See Tavern Talk’s Kinks on how I’ve developed fics), there’s that calming, exciting, nervewracking feeling of sitting down for an hour or few and just letting things out on a draft.

The hobby’s allowed me to remember that there’s more to life than just slogging through the 9-to-5. That outside of it, there’s happiness to be found, and friendships to be made. And yeah, you know, that can happen in any hobby when you stay on it long enough to meet the community for it.

Yet here I am a year in, and I’ve met some amazing people (Too many people to drop names, but I do hope they realize that I appreciate them for being part of my hectic life (@xndr is my writer ult)) as a writer, and that’s made things infinitely more fulfilling as someone that’s only recently picked the hobby up compared to everyone else.

Speaking of drafts:

Chaewon - After 4 ‘plot’ reworks, I think I have something that I like. That’s not to say that the plot is great, but I like it.

Kazuha/Anna - Haven’t touched this since I finished the rough outline for it.

Asa - I’ve been staring at this document for the entirety of the year. What was this about again?

Karina - Thighs, Part 2.

Karina - Another one. lol. lmao, even.

Chaeryeong - I’m starting to feel like every ITZY fanmeet will make me open up another draft for her, because seriously—what the fuck is she on when there’s fanmeets?

Sakura - There’s always a Sakura fic that’s waiting to happen, and the document is being kept warm.

There is quite a few more that are in the draft queue. At the time of writing, one of them is for the Pair-agraph challenge, another is an aespa fic that might never see the light of day because of how hard the premise is to write, and another that might need to get brought up again with a few people for their thoughts (it’s an interesting one, I promise).

So what’s this all about, really?

It’s a little place to see life in the eyes of Valentine. What I think about certain things, what I’ve been up to in life, why Sakura is my Pookie Of All Time—random things that pop up at whatever time that I’ll be writing entries.

Course, I won’t be delving too hard on personal stuff. I believe that’s something more intimate and I’m a rather private person (which makes me even more surprised that I’m writing a blog in the first place, who knew?) but I am willing to talk about whatever that I’m comfortable with, I suppose?

I can’t promise regular updates on this blog as I might even forget this exists at times, but I will try to make monthly posts. Sort of a checkpoint to look back into at the end or start of months so I can look back and reflect on life.

Yeah. That one sounds fun.

I’ll end this first entry with an AMA.  Feel free to leave your questions in the comments, and I’ll pick them all up in the next entry, which would hopefully be in the next week or two. Could be related to writing, to life, experiences, thoughts, ramblings of a mad man—whatever it is, I will answer it.
