A Lord and his King

I woke up the next day in the same way I woke up yesterday — naked in bed with four Fallen angels by my side. The difference was — we were in the Lord's chambers of the castle, and the bed was spacious enough for all five of us — a far cry from the one at Sunset's Point Inn. The sunlight pierced through the window as the wind blew the curtains, bringing with it the smell of Lake Aldaria below us. I never had a morning this peaceful since the Wraith attack at Sunset's Edge. I tried to sit up before getting racked with a piercing headache.

"Hangover?" I heard the Compass chuckle at my bedside table.

"Yeah. Damn Runan and his miners for getting me caught up in their drinking game." I said as I laid my head back in bed.

"It was one hell of a feast though."

"Yeah. It was."

The feast was originally planned for Sunset’s Point, but with the castle restored, the festivities were moved there instead. The surviving residents of Sunset's Point welcomed me back and accepted me as their new liege lord which was more than I could ask for.

A few lords were there, notably Lord Arivian, who insisted that I celebrate for tonight and worry about matters of the estate and the war later. King Julius was also notably absent but his herald was there to say that the King's presence would only shift the attention to him and that "the feast is for the new Lord of the Edge, not the King of the West".

Deep into the feast, Runan roped me into a drinking game with the miners of Eldoras, suffice it to say, I lost and got myself wasted. The last thing I remember is the Fallen escorting me back to my room. What followed was the second-best night of my life — it might’ve been the best if I hadn’t been so drunk.

"Morning." A sweet voice whispered to my right. I turned and saw Chaewon looking at me sweetly. "Hangover?"

I nodded before leaning in to kiss her forehead.

She chuckled. "That miner's ale was strong."

"Tell me about it." I chuckled with her.

"Any plans for the day?"

"King Julius wants to meet at the training yard."

"Hmm." She hummed. "It's still early though." She said naughtily.

"Chaewon." I laughed, before she mounted me and kissed me, waking Yunjin beside her.

As she stirred, Yunjin snuggled closer, "this is going to be a good morning." She remarked as she kissed my neck. Chaewon then started to rock back and forth on top of me, her movements and her moans caused Sakura and Kazuha to stir.

"No fair, you already started." Kazuha whined cutely before joining Yunjin on my neck.

"Good morning, love?" Sakura teased.

"Come here and make it better." I replied, and she leaned in to kiss my lips.

And the following hour became the best morning of my life... yet.

Chaewon held my arm as she accompanied me while we made our way to the training grounds. Servants I remembered from my family’s time still greeted us with quiet bows.

"You're awkward, Seren." Chaewon observed with an amused smirk.

"Just... I never thought I'll be walking this castle as Lord Solari." I replied.

"Soren would have it no other way, Seren."

"Thank you, my Lady."
