Mark met Karina and things escalated quickly
“And I now pronounce you Husband and Wife!”
Brian kissed Winter and cheers roared around the church. And I seen Winter’s gummy smile once again after all those months. Does it stings? Kinda. But nothing better seeing my forever girl friend (which has space between it) happier than ever.
I imagined this moment, I as her groom instead. But yeah, life has different plans. Life must go on anyways.
When it was a time for a bouquet toss, many women are determined enough to get that bouquet because of a tradition that whoever gets that flowers, will be the next in-line for a wedding.
Winter took a deep breath then she finally tossed the bouquet in the air. These women are shoving and pushing themselves while their hands in the air. Until-
“Oh my!”
I looked and saw Karina was holding the bouquet. She wasn’t one of those woman, in fact she’s far from them but the bouquet chose her. It made these women sighed in defeat.
But Karina isn’t delighted that she got a bouquet. Her eyes said so even though she smiled.
“What should I do??” Karina sulks after she drinks a shot of tequila. We are in the reception area where wedding guests chatting with foods and drinks. Music booming through the speakers as few of them danced in some random songs. Winter and Brian are chatting with their parents. Probably planning about the house or something.
“Don’t you have suitors atleast?” I drink my shot. Karina sighed deeply.
“I do but… I rejected all of them because of what my ex did two years ago.” She drinks another shot.
“What about it? Third party?” She shaked her head as No.
“Is he gay?” She chuckled a bit but still no. “Oh, I wish he is.”
“Toxic guy?” She tilts her head and still shaked her head.
“Well..” I drink my shot. “I’m out of options here.”
Karina sighed as she poured another shot. “He said that… I’m too clingy. It makes him awkward and uncomfortable especially around other people. How dare he..” Karina pouts.
“How did you do it anyway?”
“I just… always clinging to his arm, act cute then you know… biting him. I thought it was just a normal thing that couples do.”
“Well… Kinda but I never thought that would be the reason why. You two could’ve just talk about it.”
“I tried but he still shooed me away. As if our relationship doesn’t even matter to him. Last thing I know, he’s seeing a girl named… Gi… Gi.. Giselle, i think?” She drinks her shot.
“Giselle??”
“Yeah. Why? Did you know her?” She tilts her head. Eyes wide and curious.
“I had a girlfriend named Giselle few years back. It didn’t end well, she said she was seeing someone better than me around that time.”
“What the- This Giselle girl is such a bitch.” She mutters angrily. Damn, she even looked pretty when she gets angry like that.
“Maybe it’s a different Giselle. Anyway, Are you Winter’s friend or something?”
