A small stain leads to an even bigger mess.
This week was insanely exhausting and busy.
You decorated your house with soft orange and yellow fairy lights scattered around your medium sized apartment. The girls were coming over for a small weekend party to get a load off and finally relax with their favorite people — you included. — You couldn’t help but smile as you got the place cleaned up and ready for the occasion.
Plastic cups, snacks, drinks, games, you were stacked with options. You held your head high, — as high as you could at least — being proud of your hard work and focus for the event.
You get a text from Moka informing you that they’ll be here shortly. You heart her message and click the power button as your phone slips back into your pocket.
Despite how much you disliked drinking alcohol, you toughen up and pour a shot for yourself before they arrive. Your face is already scrunched at the innocent shot glass being held by your thumb and two fingers. You hold your breath as you barely get it down your throat. That was absolutely terrible.
You barely get to process how awful you feel before you hear a rhythmic knock on your door.
You’re greeted by the five girls that made life a little less irritating. Moka entered first followed by the rest of the group, leaving Minju at the end of the line. You give her a warm welcoming smile as she returns the expression and slips through the door. Her greeting made your heart slightly trip over itself.
You’re left with Minju next to the door as she takes off her shoes.
“Get here okay?”
“Oh- yeah, no trouble on the way.” She scoffs leaning against the wall to keep her balance.
“Yunah wouldn’t stop blaring music and belting every song.”
You can’t help but laugh. “Of course she did.” Your arms are crossed as you lean on the door frame, watching her.
The relationship between you and Minju always made sense, just like how it is with the other girls. Despite this being true, your heart and mind fight with one another when it comes to your true feelings for Minju.
You share one more nervous smile before you both make your way to the group that’s already conversing and pouring themselves drinks.
The apartment is filled with laughs, loud voices, music, and good people. You’re right where you want to be.
You meet Moka at the counter to refill your cup. She turns to face you.
“So, what’s your love life lookin’ like these days?”
You spill a small puddle of alcohol next to your cup from hearing the bold question.
“U-umm.. it’s really boring to be honest.” You laugh it off when deep down you’re slightly embarrassed. You suddenly wonder where Minju is in the room.
Moka nods with a pouted lower lip as she looks down at her drink.
“Well. I know someone who could make it a lot less boring.” Her head is tilted down with her eyes looking at you.
You scoff at the idea that Moka proposes. What is she even talking about?
“Yeah, okay match maker.”
You finish pouring your drink when you hear a collection of gasps behind you.
“Oh shit.” Moka breathes.
