“Would you love me if I wasn’t manly enough?”
“Whaa…? Babe… what are you talking about…” Your girlfriend Jimin asks, yawning in the process as it’s currently midnight when you ask this seemingly random question to her, laying near each other in bed being ready to sleep.
“Just answer the question, please? you say, your eyes avoid contact as they look at the ceiling, however it was apparent to her through your voice that this was important for you.
“of course i will love you, baby” she says, another small yawn coming from her while her hand goes to grab yours, “why would i not?” She asks.
“Nothing, some random thought, just ignore it” you say, avoiding the question as you now turn away from your girlfriend.
“Well it isnt nothing if you asked me, is something wrong baby?” She asks as you could feel her hand going toward your shoulder
“No honey, i am fine” you reply, a small sigh comes from her mouth as you could feel both her arms now let themselves wrap around your stomach, her chest touching your back while she leans into your shoulder.
“Baby…i know you don’t want me to worry, but…you know you can trust me” she whispers, a small peck on your left cheeks is all that needed to break you, as much as you didn’t want to show it, Tears were starting to flow from your eyes as your body started to shake in her grasp.
In response her hands pull you tighter into the embrace while she rubs your clothed chest in circles, “there there…it’s okay baby… just let all of those tears go” her voice quiet and soothing as now your quiet sobs now turned into a full cry,turn 180 to look at your girlfriend’s weak smile and comforting eyes, get your arms behind her waist and pull yourself into the crook of her neck to continue hugging her.
A while passed since you started crying, Jimin releases from the hug, meanwhile you find yourself looking down and away, to hide your still teary eyes however you can’t escape easily as she takes her hand to your chin, raising it up to get you to look at her while she leans toward your forehead, giving you a kiss.
“Do you want tell what’s wrong now?” There isn’t a realistic way to avoid this question as you take a deep sigh and start talking.
“Its just that…everyone in my workplace always talks…about how…” you hesitate, not sure if you should continue what you are saying.
“About what?” She asks, tilting her head lightly.
“…about how…you don’t deserve someone like me, like they just compare me to you, and say that you could get someone manlier or… prettier or just someone…more successful? I don’t know” you explain,
She doesn’t say a word, her expression now turned blank, not sure what to do, you decide to continue speaking
“and honestly… they are right, i am not really muscular or pretty, and like… look at you, you are pretty, cute… you are funny, you are kind, you make everyone around you feel better, meanwhile you know…” you stop, looking away, taking a deep before speaking, “… meanwhile i am just m-”.
you are stopped by Jimin’s soft lips on yours and even though as a couple, you two kissed numerous times, every kiss still feels like the first as you could feel yourself almost flying but you girlfriend still keeps you on the ground, her hands going under your shirt into your back, slowly and lightly.
Slowly you both release from the kiss you shared, looking into her eyes you could see how her eyes are shining even when the lights are off, and by the way she is looking at you, it seems like yours are also shining.
“You’re tires, you probably had a long day…” she said, her hands pull you closer to the point where you find your face is laying on your girlfriend’s chest. “Just take deep breaths… i am not going everywhere”
You oblige, slowly taking air into lungs, and then releasing it. Each breath you take calms you down more and more as a small yawn comes out, showing your sleepiness.
“You are doing great baby” Jimin says, planting a kiss into your forehead again as she leans into your ear, “Never say you are not perfect…you are perfect for me…and i will love you-” a small yawn interrupt her sentence, “no matter what…even if you think you are not manly enough…or pretty enough…i will always love you no matter what” those are the last words you hear before finally managing to fall asleep
You could feel a small peck on your lips as Your girlfriend also closes her eyes and let herself fall asleep with you in her arms
