Your girlfriend Yujin being clingy
You didn’t think it would go that way when you accepted her confession. Sure, she was a great person, a lovable girl, and a great friend but no one told you about how needy she was. Yujin had been following you around all day like a lost puppy. Whether you’d go to the library, to the canteen, or to the newspaper club she’d be there beside you. Your classroom was the only place she didn’t follow you to because she had her class, but if it wasn’t for that, she’d be glued to you.
Yujin couldn’t stand even two minutes of you not giving her attention and would always whine your name or tug on your shirt every damn second. You believed it was payback for the years you couldn’t realize her feelings.
Yujin didn’t study at school. No, she only needed to read the pages once and stay focused in class to remember everything. So, in return, she’d stay by your side between the piles of exercise booklets and school texts to watch you study.
You enjoyed her presence, having someone to talk with during your breaks and support you during the pain that was the school. Yujin would chat just about anything and you’d hear just about anything as long as it came from her. Sometimes she would hold your hand and you’d rub your thumbs together, just to let each other know you were there.
What made her the happiest was when you asked her for help. Sitting near you was nice but she felt useless, so when you asked for her knowledge she’d put on those glasses that she stole from Yuri and become your impromptu tutor.
“Leave everything to professor Yujin,” she’d say with a mighty tone, “I’ll turn you into the most brilliant student this school has ever seen.” But you got just a B on the next test.
“It’s my fault,” she’d sob, curling herself into a ball from embarrassment and it’d be your turn to comfort her, patting her back and giving her little kisses. Forehead kisses, oh, she loved them so much. But loved giving them to you even more, to the point of your forehead turning red.
Because of her activities, you couldn’t meet a lot if anything at all after school so she took every chance to find you. Yujin was really a lost puppy. You might have to find a pet rescue center for her at this point. Perhaps drop her off at the lost and found and pick her up at the end of the day.
“Honeyyy…” she started again. This time you were in the library, it was quite busy this time of the day, and Yujin was being way too loud.
“Shut up,” you told her, putting a finger on her lips. She just pecked them and started tugging your shirt. She continued even when you turned around to go to the math section and followed you around the whole time. Ignoring doesn’t work. You tried studying and not paying attention to her, the thing she was starving for, but that’s the thing with her. She likes to work for it.
“Hey, can you hear me? Honey? Why are you ignoring me?” Yujin chanted. You felt your right eye twitch. You looked around to see the people stealing glances at you two.
“Stop studying please,” she whined. “Pay attention to me, please. I’m lonely, I miss you…”
Her two fingers were playing with the corner of your jacket while her face was frowning in a precious pout, with her cheeks puffing out and her lips curling. You almost let a smile escape you.
“I’m literally sitting next to you, Yujin. Stop talking, this is a library.”
“Can you please hold my hand, please? Or give me some pats? It'll quiet down, I promise.” You look at her, her puppy eyes, and considered your options. You went for the latter.
Yujin had cut her hair, you noticed, just a trim, and she ironed it, giving it more volume. During the whole day you had to fight the urge to reach over and run your hand through her fluffy, fluffy hair. But now you wouldn’t hold back.
You turned to Yujin and pecked her forehead. She was confused at first but then flashed a bright smile, from ear to ear, a great toothy grin. You couldn’t help but smile back, her grin was so infectious, you felt your heart swell with love at the sight of her. Your hand softly brushed her hair and patted her head. The hair ruffled under your hand and she closed her eyes to enjoy it. Yujin let out a small whimper of satisfaction when you kissed her again. And then you went back to your studying.
While you were scribbling in your notebook, Yujin quieted down as she agreed, laying her head between her arms and just staring at you from the side. Her hand was near your pen, her fingers tapping the table, very slowly approaching your free hand. When you looked at her, she looked away. But you could see the hand getting closer and closer.
“You know what?” you said. “Fine. You can hold my damn hand.”
“Really?” Yujin beamed. "Look how well your hand fits in mine, honey," Yujin smiled again as she slipped her hand into yours. You loved the way her eyes twinkled. She squeezed your hand and buried her face back into her hoodie, her fingers brushing yours, trailing along your fingernails and palm.
"Maybe we should leave it like that for a while then,” you whispered, entranced by her glittering gaze.
"Can I kiss you?" she whispered back.
"You can always kiss me, Yujin."
"Perfect.” She leaned in, slowly, not like the pecks you two normally gave each other when there were other people in the room. Her plump lips felt so inviting and fresh, like a hit of wind during the summer, fast and refreshing.
You tried not to stare at her really, but it was so hard when she was just so effortlessly gorgeous. You can’t help but stare. It was so unfair how pretty she was while doing nothing. Your eyes followed her hand as it gently brushed a few strands of hair from her face.
"Did you get a new lip balm flavour?" you quizzed.
“I saw you staring at the raspberry flavor when we went into the convenience store. Thought you might as well try it from me,” she answered. “But you should study now! Stop getting so distracted.”
“But you were calling me until now…”
“Study or you’ll get a bad grade,” she insisted.
“Whatever…” You continued writing your notes with only one hand. You got it done very fast since she was there with you to comfort you. After about an hour of studying, your hands were still together. You got up to stretch but your pinkies linked together, you didn’t really want to let go. So you sat back down and talked with Yujin.
“Yujin, I saw that you won the dancing competition, is that right?” you asked while toying with your pen.
“Yes, I got first place,” Yujin boasted, putting her hands on her waist and raising her chest proudly. “I’m the best, after all, it was no surprise that I won.”
“I got you something,” you said, reaching into your bag and pulling out a cupcake. Luckily it wasn’t crushed, you put it carefully into a paper bag and in its own compartment where the books wouldn’t demolish it.
You watched her stare at the cupcake in your hand. Once Yujin realized that the cupcake was in fact for her, her smile morphed into that cute puffy pout you adore so much. Yujin was the prettiest when she was happy. Her eyes lit up with such light to melt your heart to a pulp.
“You really got me a cupcake?” Yujin whispered, her eyes watering up.
Your heart felt like it was dancing in your chest.
“I had to,” you replied, ears blooming red with embarrassment, “you won the competition.”
Yujin had been working really hard for this, she was stressed and it made your heart ache when you’d see just how much pain she was putting herself through to win it. No one really paid attention to it since she always worked hard and no one did anything when she won because they knew she would. You needed to be celebrated.
“Thank you, honey,” Yujin wiggled in her seat.
“Do you want half? I can just split it in half,” Yujin asked you, since you had been staring it for a while, so she assumed you wanted to try it. But you were just nervously waiting for her to tell you if she liked it.
“No, thank you,” you waved your hand. “Just eat it.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m sure.”
”Do you just want a bite at least?”
“No, I’m okay.”
“Are you double sure?”
“Double sure.”
”Ok,” Yujin peaked behind the package. “I’m gonna eat it then.”
Yujin bit into her cupcake, humming in satisfaction when the sweetness of the frosting melted on her tastebuds. It was so sweet, so heavenly. She has never had such an amazing cupcake before. She squealed, in awe at how delicious this cupcake was.
You looked at her with love, she was so happy and adorable.
