Paradise in Thailand

"You're clear to go sir."

"Thank you." You make your way to the recovery area, putting your laptop back in your backpack and making sure you have everything before exiting the security check.

"Ugh, I hate going through security!" You hear a feminine voice next to you, feeling her head rest on your shoulder.

"Me too Minnie." You pat the head of your girlfriend. "Ready to go?"

"Yep, let's go get something to eat!"

"McDonalds?"

"No!"

"It's a long flight, I'm not risking food poisoning on a plane."

"Fine, you get McDonalds, I'll get something for myself."

"See you back here?"

"Yes, see you in a bit!"

You join the long line of flyers waiting to order their food. Eventually your turn comes and you order your Big Mac meal. After you pick up your food you head back to the rendezvous point. The airport is crowded, but you are able to find Minnie quickly.

"Hey babe, where's your food?"

"I didn't find anything I like, I'll just have some of your fries." She grabs you by the arm and flashes a smile at you.

"Seriously? I would've gotten larger fries if I had known!"

"Come on it'll be fine, just this once, please?"

"Okay okay, let's go wait at the gate." The two of you find seats at the gate, and you dump the fries in the paper bag for Minnie while you work on your burger.

"Mmm that was good!" As you wipe your mouth with a napkin, you look down to the fries and to your disappointment the fries were almost all gone!

"Minnie! Come on!"

"Wait, there's still some here! Also here's an extra tasty one!" She holds a fry with her mouth. You bite it off before kissing her on the lips.

"Fine, that one was tasty. Next time just come get McDonalds with me."

"Okay... you can have my food on the plane if you're still hungry."

"Maybe, I'll steal your dessert."

"Noo, you know that's my favorite part of airplane food!" She pouts as you finish the rest of the fries.

The two of you spend the next hour on your phones and chatting, looking every part a young couple in love. Finally it is time to board, and after what seems like another two hours, you finally find yourself at cruising altitude.

"I'm so excited, finally getting to go to Thailand!" you say to her.

"I know, and you'll get to meet my friends too! I can't wait to show you off to them!"

"Hey hey, I'm not the trophy boyfriend am I?"

"Maybe..." Minnie jokingly looks away.

"I'm definitely taking your dessert later."

The flight is long but uneventful, with little to no turbulence. You watch one of the recent movie releases while Minnie watches what looks like a comedic movie, judging by her giggles in the seat. During your movies the food arrives, and the two of you scarf down the boring airplane food. You place your small cup of ice cream on her tray.

"Aww for me? After I ate your fries?"

"Yes yes, for you."

"Thank you!" Minnie plants a kiss on your cheek. "Want to watch a movie together?" she asks as she lifts the armrest separating the two of you.

"Sure, you choose." Minnie picks a thrilling action movie, snuggling next to you as she enjoys the two cups of ice cream she now has.

The hours pass quickly, and with a rumble you feel the plane touchdown in Bangkok, Thailand. The two of you clear immigration quickly, waiting for your luggage to come out in baggage claim.

"Damn I hate when we're early, now we have to wait for the bags."

"We got lucky, I think I see our bags already." You are proven right as the bags get closer to you on the conveyor belt.

"Yay, let's go!"

The two of you step out into the hot summer heat, and you feel the sweat already beginning to gather on your forehead.

"Whew, is it always this hot?"

"Hot? This is perfect Bangkok weather!" Minnie dances happily in the blazing sun, before stopping to wipe her sweat. "Okay yeah it's kinda hot, let's get a taxi."

The two of you walk to a waiting colorful taxi, and after some rapid chatter with the driver in Thai Minnie turns back towards you. "Okay we're good, get in!"

You put the luggage in the trunk before joining Minnie in the back seat. The taxi whizzes away from the airport, the sweltering heat replaced with the comfort of the taxi's air-conditioner. Still a little tired from the flight you lean your head against the window and take a nap. After what feels like a peaceful 15 minutes, Minnie shakes you awake.

"Wake up oppa, we're almost there." You wake up to see a bustling city unfold outside your window, a colorful mix of stalls, cars, and people quickly melting away into the city's business district. You watch with interest as the westernized business district changes again into a mix of both modern and traditional - a bustling market, smoke coming from a temple, kids playing in a park, all right next to a newly built bus stop leading to a mall, with your typical McDonalds and Starbucks outlets.

The taxi stops in a quiet neighborhood, in front of what looks like a classy but understated hotel. Minnie thanks the driver and gestures to you to get out. You take your luggage and shut the trunk, and as the taxi zooms away you turn to Minnie.

"Weren't we staying at your friend's place? They live here?"

"No, I... I wanted you to myself, we won't have any alone time once we're there, so I thought we could... rest up?" Smirking at what she really wanted, you grab her hand, bring it up to your lips and kissing the back of her hand.

"Lead the way."

The interior of the hotel is old but well-maintained, lending it a rustic look. You sit in one of the big cushy lounge chairs as Minnie handles all the details about the room. She walks up to you shyly, her face blushing as she says to you in a shy voice.
