Cough and Honey

Jimin thinks that at this point, thinking about how much she hates the awful season that is winter comes to her as naturally as breathing does.

She tried. She really did try to like it! She swore to Minjeong that she would make efforts, and stop whining anytime her girlfriend made her fight against her ultimate nemesis that is the cold and freezing weather. 

And Jimin did her best! And even found herself to be enjoying her lovely evening date with her girlfriend, who had desperately wanted to go see their city’s annual light show. 

And despite the … cold, Jimin had also found herself to be enjoying this moment. Well, of course she did, since she was with Minjeong, and on top of that, she was making Minjeong happy! And a happy Minjeong is obviously a delighted Jimin. 

Except that the warmth Minjeong made Jimin feel inside as she clutched to her arm the whole night… was regretfully enough for her to completely look past the actual freezing temperature of this dazzling night date. 

At first, Jimin noticed that the tip of her fingers was starting to grow colder. So obviously, she simply buried them in the pockets of Minjeong’s coat. Easy solution! The action earned her a light shove from her girlfriend, as well as her usual fake-annoyed whines, but Minjeong simply clutched her freezing hands in hers. A complete win! 

Then, Jimin slowly started to not feel her feet anymore. However, she just blamed this numbness on their lengthy walk around the city. Walking around had been pretty exhausting after all, so not feeling her feet wasn’t so strange to Jimin.

But then, came the first sneeze. 

Jimin’s first thought? Her pollen allergies! 

To which Minjeong had merely flickered her forehead, before telling her that pollen is only around during Spring. Obviously, Jimin knows about it! But sometimes, she forgets that her girlfriend is as much of a smarty pants nerd as her… 

Gladly, those bizarre warning signs hadn’t escalated any further that night. Because, even if Jimin couldn’t feel her feet nor her hands anymore at the end of their small nightly escapade, those small mishaps hadn’t stopped her from spending a lovely date with her even more lovely girlfriend. Even if it had been in the freezing cold.

Because, when Minjeong had softly kissed the tip of her red nose in the train on their way back, before softly lowering her mouth to leave a small and cold peck on Jimin’s equally icy lips, Jimin knew that fighting against her worst enemy had been the right move to make. 

And maybe, this date had helped her liking the hiemal season a tad more.

Jimin wishes she could swallow her past words. 

Actually, Jimin just wishes she could swallow in general. 

The morning after their nocturnal date, Jimin had woken up feeling a bit drowsy. And while this kind of occurrence is pretty common to some people, to her, it was as rare as finding an egg with hairs. Because, ever since she started to live with Minjeong, and got to sleep next to the woman every single night, Jimin hasn’t gotten a singular bad night of sleep. 

Except that this time, Minjeong’s power on her wellbeing had apparently been taken over by a much greater foe…

Winter. 

This damned season striked again, and this time decided to directly aim its sneaky attacks on Jimin’s throat and nose! 

The second Jimin tried to swallow her saliva, she genuinely felt herself go. Like, she actually saw stars there, and not for the right reason! 

Her throat was quite literally on fire, and the desperate sip of water she attempted to take did not help easing down the pain in the slightest. And when she felt herself sniffing the pain away, Jimin just knew .

The cold has gotten her. 

Her nose was already runny by the time she came back to her senses, woken up by her second attempt at swallowing down her saliva. Which ended up in yet another trip straight towards the burning flames of Hell.
