0ctath0ughts on iconic by mistake: lyrics are kinda a nothingburger, which was expected. some of the lyrical melodies, specifically pew-chorus, kinda felt “nursery rhyme-y”, which i dont love, but i dont hate it either. would i like it if it was released by a different group? possibly. everything exists within context and it’s hard to completely ignore that. i dont think any artist is exempt from potential criticisms of their works, my favorites included, but I do think there’s a larger conversation to be had about why this whole collab was done in this way. all three of these groups have faced a shit ton of unwarranted hate over the smallest things (not including criticism of their recent releases, although i do agree that some people take it too far), and while i think it’s questionably executed, this song does give them a chance to rise above that. did hybe open them to even more hate from this? absolutely, people on the internet are quick to be as cruel as possible without a second thought. if anything, this whole rant isn’t me wishing for them to release “better” music (that’s subjective), but for people to not be so quick to spew their negativity in public spaces. if u dont like, dont listen, and i think we’d all be happier from there. idk why i felt the need to voice my thoughts, although i suppose thats what thoughts are for. im just waiting for my poke bowl to be delivered. kissy for u if u read the whole thing mwah mwah
