you know the romance movie version of this story. there’s a knock at your door, and you open it, and it’s her, out of breath because she’d run all the way back from the bus stop to get back to your house. you pull her in by the arms, she reaches for your neck and backs you into your foyer, across the hall into your room, and she’s yours and you’re hers and in that precious moment not a single damn thing else exists in this world, and- and you close your door, because she’s not there. you walk back into your living room, alone, because she’s not there. you trudge across the hall back into your bedroom, alone, and you fall asleep, alone, because this isn’t a movie, and she’s not there, she’s not with you, and you are alone. departure by caps evil ending
