We all know why we’re here - reading and writing RPF about our favorite idols. Because we love them, obviously. There’s nothing more satisfying than coming across a fic and thinking, wow, that feels like them. It makes the characters feel alive, like they’ve walked right off the page and into reality. But what if the opposite could happen? What if a story feels so vivid, so real, that it changes the way we see the person who inspired it? Next time you see your bias, it’s not just the idol you think of - you remember their fic self, too, that version brought to life through the story. This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately… What would it mean to achieve that? Can it even be done? Wouldn’t that be something? Wouldn’t that be kind of magic? It’s just this little daydream of mine, about how fiction shapes the way we love the real world.
